Not pissed off, but will really appreciate it if the person who posted the hearsay can just tell me the original source of his information.

As a neutral party sir, I would say those allegations were weighty considering this is a public forum. But, do you know that the teacher(s) might have served under the thieving principal. You stated that you took over last year, so, obviously he was not referring to you.

It is so sad that people we trust often end up disappointing us. That thief should be found and arrested. My humble piece.

depends on the class though but generally, you can study percentages, open sentences, word problems, pie charts, barcharts and the family, ratios, rounding up/off, roman numerals, conversion from m to km and stuff like that, areas of circles, perimeter, volume of cuboids etc.

These are the little I remember from what I taught and what i was asked in an interview I went for early this week. hope it helps.

Thanks sister. God bless you.

Op sorry o. It is Green springs. Anthony near Ikeja. Greenfield is at Lekki, don't know if they do Chinese. Also try schools like Day waterman Abeokuta. I heard they do foreign languages a lot.

Come to abj and see teachers earning 250k- 350k with lesson inclusive... I av received an invitation from Global international sch but I didnt attend because I wasn't sure of the pay.... Now I got an invitation from a school in calaba and my travelling expenses will be paid back to me...and some persons are saying rubbish... Pls I'm not a begging teacher of 35-50k..(In abuja,That is a child lesson money). I'm a professional teacher with B.sc(ed) with CIE certificate and experience.... So, please mind your statement... I might not comment again... Thanks... U know yourself

Pls cool down boss. I don't know who offended you but you have been real open on this thread and good. I apologize on behalf of the person and there is nothing wrong with aiming high or wanting more. Pls continue as you were and don't stop commenting. All the best chrisdenis.

on teachers complaining: everybody should understand that teaching in most private school is a means to getting some better things later in life. a lecturer of mine once told me he has taught in a private school before he became a lecturer in a federal univ. i was at a workshop at abeokuta yesterday organised by nerdc for private schools in ohun state, durin the interactive session a guy said he cannot give his best because he is not well paid. he was so bitter, i even thoug ht he would mention the name of the school.
please anybody that is not happy about his work should just quit instead of being unha ppy continually. opportunity will always come and if you are toxic you may miss the opportunity. never allow your condition or situation to determine your happiness. sadness can lead to ailment. we will all make it

Good advice! The main reason i resigned. Seems I was dying more and more each day. All the management cared about was maximizing profits at the expense of the students! No opportunity for growth, a slave grid worst you don't know your pay! I never received the same salary for three years. It never increased kept reducing bogus deduction and tax. Of all of us employed the same time I was the last to leave. Still have not told my JS3 I would not be resuming. It will be so heart breaking.

The most important thing is to create value to your organisation and students, these will positively affect you. You also need to be creative and innovative with the value creation.

................................................................................................................................................

How many awards have your students won in your area, local government, state and Nigeria.

Since you have been teaching English or Yoruba, how many essay competitions, debates and quiz competition have you organised in your school? How many inter-school competitions have your students competed in.

How many essays or articles have your students contributed in teenagers magazines or children columns in the national dailies like Punch, Vangaurd etc.

How often have you written published articles on literacy, education, politic, economy etc in National dailies.
....................................................................................................................................................................

My brother when you do some of the things outlined here you will not be looking for high paying schools but rather schools will be competing to hire you.

A youngman who used to write articles in Punch and vanguard some few years ago, would write his name, e-mail address, profession and name of his school at the end of each article.

Eg, Johnson teaches Yoruba at Kerege High School Ifo Ogun State.

The last time I called the guy he is now working in the corporate affairs department of one of the quoted companies on NSE, his writings created visibility and opportunity for him.

I just realized I have NOT started! *rolls sleeve*

I think with the sales job you have a better opportunity for growth. With teaching t is more limited. However, do what you have passion for. Teaching is brain draining if you don't live to do it. I wish you the best.

PS. Op please no offense, which school is that let me send my CV in case there is opening for English and Literature teacher. The free education for 4 kids is appealing. Thanks

hey peeps. I want to go on mass CV distribution, but I have a question. How do I address the application letter,is it until I'm at the gate of the school as I don't have any particular school in mind. I might just be strolling past a street and I see a school,I'll quickly write the address on the space i must have left for it abi how I go do am? Or I just submit only CV with copies of my certs?

sorry if it seems like jamb question o, I haven't done this before

thanks.

I write the name of the school at the gate stylishly without letting the gateman see me or else some of them will turn you back. Make copies of ur CV and arrange in envelopes with the application letter. Try get to the office by saying you want to make enquiries and then tell them your purpose. Don't give gateman o. Best of luck! I address to the school management or sch administrator.

I just stopped coming to his site and till now he hasn't called me, I left my May salary with him.

Normandie college is just starting in sept,I think they'd would pay between 35k-40k.I resigned frm the nursery and primary sch because I relocated.Working condition is okay, prompt payment of salary and if you're good, table lesson will fetch you almost or more than your salary for a nurs and pry teacher though.I don't think that can happen at the college.

Location pls. Am very much interested. Thanks

Glad to announce that I've officially signed a new transfer contract with Caleb Intl Schools.

It was quite challenging though, their aptitude test is superb! If not for the "gragra" I put up during the interview and micro-teaching, it would have been a different story alltogether.
If you don't have it, fake it! Confidence is very key when it comes to interviews.
Though the pay is just a few tens of thousand above what I currently earn, I like their welfare package
and other perks.
So patiently awaiting the new session! Wish me well guys.

Congrats and all the best. I tap into this your testimony, mine will come soon. Amen
