Mumu, I graduated in 2006 in Federal University and I'm very sure you were in primary school then with the way you reason. A brilliant student don't go to lecturer's office to seek for mark upgrade while she can ask for her script if truly she has confident in what she wrote down during test and exam.

Try to use your brain when next u want to quote me
Things have changed. I graduated 2003. What u said was the in thing then. But students now have confidence to go directly to ask for mark upgrade from a Prof.

Sometimes, these lecturers fail them so they can fvck them later.
How sure are u. Stop rushing into conclusion.
Most students of now are days are not serious with education. They are more concerned about money, becoming celebrity, slay Queen slay mama.

The country is not helping either, the good ones are not getting the rewards after graduation. So now a days if you advice students they will ask u who book help. They are looking for short cuts.

I am not in support in people leveraging on people's weakness. But if they check the girls other results u will find out she too is not a serious girl.

Lecturers hardly intimidate the students that are serious academically and spiritually

What stupid panel are they setting on a voice record evidence? Imagine they even claim they need to see the girl been harrazed before reaching a decision. Nigeria judgements is a gone concern
That's the right thing to do. The girl might not be interested in the case, if she's interested, it has to be heard from her. You can not prosecute someone if the complainant is not showing up.

EducationRe: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by mathinips(m): 1:18pm On Feb 16, 2018
pronto543:
I don't think an overall score of 308 is bad. Although, clocking 161 (roughly 80th percentile) in Quants would have bolstered your chances of admit.

I would advice you to apply but focus on making your SOP top-notch. You need to make the first paragraph catchy and captivating to the adcom. Another aspect is your referee but I can not guarantee you would get a very powerful recommendation from a Nigerian lecturer/professor. They just don't seem to be effusive and specific in their assessment. A bland recommendation would further reduce your chances. I would suggest you google up the specific requirement for reference for each school. Some schools honour reference letters from your boss at work (professional) or a mentor that can vouch about your ability to excel in graduate studies.

Also, if you haven't published any paper before please do, it speaks volume about your research experience. I have no idea how rich your esearch experience is. If you have any relevant work or research experience just focus on it in ur SOP and CV.

Lastly, take time to work on your CV. You can google sample of academic CV. Don't forget to include relevant research experience under its section as well as extracurricular activities.

If you haven't contacted POI then start right away. Send them a short introductory mail and an an attachment of your application materials. Merge all your documents into a single PDF file and your name_M.sc docs as title.

Why not apply for M.sc/PhD route. It's far more difficult getting funding for M.Sc than PhD especially in Houston. They have intimidating admission requirement for Environmental Engineering so I can imagine that of PE. I wish you all the best.
Hello pls, what do u meant by SOP? Is it same has Personal Statement? Letter of Intent?
You also mention POI, what does it mean?
Thanks

CrimeMFM Church Disowns Nine Nigerian Drug Traffickers Sentenced In Cambodia by mathinips(op):
Nine Nigerian nationals and a Cambodian woman were convicted by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday on charges of drug trafficking and sentenced to between five and 13 years in prison.

Police alleged the group was trafficking almost one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine through a local church in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district in 2015.

Presiding judge Khy Chhay said Okorom Nhabu Favor, 36, Sunday Nwabusi, 31, and Okarom Kizito Chimedu, 35, were sentenced to six years in prison and fined 10 million riel (about $2,500).

Nnamezie Victor, 30, and Simon Maduka Ukadu, 45, were each given seven-year sentences and fines of 13 million riel (about $3,000). Francis Nnamedi, 30, and Tony Mmaduka Chuwuonye, 34, will spend eight years in prison and be forced to pay fines of 14 million riel (about $3,400).

Izuchukwu Chuwuma, 40, was sentenced to five years in prison and a 12 million riel fine.

Uche Chukwu Ukadu, 40, was charged in absentia and given a 13-year sentence and 14 million riel fine. Police believe he was the leader of the drug ring.

“The court has ordered police to seek the arrest of Uche Chukwu Ukadu and bring him to serve the term of his punishment in prison as is the court’s verdict,” judge Chhay said.

“I am ordering the deportation of these accused Nigerians from Cambodia once they have completed their prison terms.”

Their Cambodian accomplice, 31-year-old Morn Vinyung, was given an eight-year sentence and a 14 million riel fine. She was allegedly Mr. Chuwuonye’s girlfriend at the time of their arrest.

They were all charged with “drug trafficking” under article 40 of the Law on Drug Control after being arrested by the Interior Ministry’s anti-drug department in January 2015.

Captain Proeung Pheap, deputy chief of the Anti-Drug unit at the Interior Ministry, said the nine men were part of an international drug ring allegedly using the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries church as a front for their operation.

The church and its founders have denied any connection with the controversy and the pastor in charge of the Phnom Penh branch said he had never met or heard of any of the men involved in the case.

Oladele Bank-Olemoh, chairman of MFM Media Committee Worldwide – a Pentecostal church founded in Yaba, Nigeria, in 1989 with branches in the US, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia – told Nigerian news outlet Sunday Punch last month that the men had no connection to MFM in any capacity and were lying about their roles within the church, before claiming the church was still functioning.

“The MFM church is not shut down. Our pastor is there and he’s busy in the ministry. Those arrested are not members of the church,” he said.

“They are neither our missionaries nor workers in the church. The MFM church is the only African church in Cambodia that many black people attend,” he said.

Capt. Pheap added that police were still hard at work on the case because the ringleader – Mr. Chukwu – was still on the run.

“The chief of the group was Uche Chukwu, who escaped. He is a big drug ringleader in Asia,” he said. “Police are working to arrest him.”

Police discovered the ring when Mr. Mmaduka Chuwuonye sent his girlfriend – Ms. Vinyung – to deliver drugs to undercover police three separate times at Sovanna supermarket in Chamkarmon district in early January 2015.

Both were arrested on the day of the third delivery, and police subsequently raided three homes in Boeung Tumpon commune on January 8 and 9, capturing the rest of the group.

One other Cambodian woman was arrested, but she was found to have no involvement in the drug ring and was eventually released. At the three homes, police found six large packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 802 grams as well as other drug paraphernalia.

Initially, all of the defendants claimed they were innocent of the charges, but over the course of the trial, some admitted to involvement in the scheme and claimed Mr. Chukwu Ukaduwas in charge of the ring.

But Mr. Chimedu, Mr. Victor’s brother and an assistant at his alleged church, claimed to have nothing to do with drug dealing but was arrested when police raided his home in Boeung Tumpon commune on January 8. Police found no drugs or paraphernalia at his home during their raid, he said.

“I was a church assistant, and my job was to prepare bibles and prayer ceremonies for foreigners every weekend,” he said. “I have never smoked or used drugs in my life. I’ve never even seen drugs.”

All of the men said they will appeal

I hope its not only Buhari that is @work. Where are the state governors? They should enrol for courses on how to curb corruption , in Buhari University. Learn and also implement concurrently at state level. So that Nigeria can be 85% if not totally free of corruption come 2019.

The Almighty God.
He is a mysterious God.

Let me ask this question, In the quran what is the punishment for those who believe Jesus is the son of God?

In this world, where we all got it wrong is this:
We are trying to do the work of God, we want to help him. We have turn ourselves into the Judge (God). Ww now tell Him the people to send to hell. The bible said "thou shall not judge".

I want christians who reads the bible to remember what happen to tge man who try to prevent the ark of God from falling. He was condemed to death. so I wouldnt be suprise if many clerics dont make it to heaven.

You can preach to others what you believe, but dont judge others, dont condemn. This is what is causing problem all around the world.

Sometimes I wish we all have one religion all over the world, then personal moral would have count more.
