Politics › Re: N3bn Pension Scam: We Bribed Senate Committee In Dollars — Suspect by matoyeh(m): 10:14am On May 30, 2012 |
BlackPikiN: Sani Shu’aibu Teidi, one of the suspects standing trial before the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the massive looting of the pension treasury, has alleged that he and other accomplices paid the Senator Aloysius Etuk-led Senate Committee a N3bn bribe in dollars.
The bribe, it was alleged, was to stall the prosecution of the accused persons.
The bribe scandal took another dimension following the mentioning of the name of the immediate past chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs Farida Waziri, who allegedly working with the mindset that the Senate Committee would make good its promise of stalling the case of the accused persons, also got a property located at Parakou Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja, as bribe.
The principal suspect further alleged that the Senator Aloysius Etuk-led committee failed to fulfil an earlier promise of helping to stall their prosecution after collecting the N3bn contributory bribe.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the allegations are already causing ripples within the Senate committee.
A source close to the principal accused, Dr. Teidi, said that the cause of the disaffection within the Senate committee was borne out of the discovery that, out of the N3bn obtained as bribe from the six accused, Senator Etuk attempted to outsmart his colleagues by declaring only N500million, a paltry one-sixth of the actual bribe he allegedly collected and also participated in the sharing.
The source added that Dr. Teidi and other accomplices paid the Sen. Etuk-led committee the N3bn bribe in dollars after Teidi was coerced into giving details of his assets/ properties, with the promise to soften the severity of his offence, after which he was asked to give out 50 per cent to them.
An obviously angry Dr. Teidi “felt betrayed by the Senate committee leadership’s greed and inability to properly handle our (the accused persons’) matter before” it, our source added, and he therefore resolved to make public all information on the botched agreement.
“In fact, the N3bn bribe offered the senate committee was contributed by all the accused persons, each with the amount of N500million. The committee made us believe that when we give the money being demanded, it will give us a safe landing, thereby escaping prosecution, but, to our greatest dismay, they only succeeded in cutting their own share,” the source quoted Dr. Teidi.
According to the source who pleaded anonymity, trouble started when the deputy chairman of the committee, Senator Kabiru Gaya got wind of the exact sum offered by the accused from an independent source, who is also his kinsman, a former director of the Police Pension Board and incidentally a relation of one of the accused standing trial before the Abuja Court and confronted Senator Etuk with his findings.
The accused director, who hails from the same constituency with the Kano State-born Senator, alleged that he used his own pension loot to buy substantial shares in one of the national dailies, and was said to have approached Gaya to know why their case was yet to be quashed as promised after availing them of the N3bn bribe as requested – a disclosure which shocked the committee’s vice chairman.
The matter took a turn for the worse with Senator Etuk denying the charge levelled against him by the suspects, and other members allegedly lost confidence in him.
The Senator however did not pick the repeated calls made to his phone and neither did he respond to LEADERSHIP’s text messages which sought clarification over the matter.
Senator Etuk had urged the EFCC, the police and other anti-graft agencies to investigate the allegation against him and his committee, claiming that it was the chairman of the task force team who had been trailing the committee with bribe offer to influence the pension scam investigation. He was quoted to have said that obtained evidence and fact would speak for itself when his committee’s report was submitted to the Senate, not the sentiment of a desperate fellow whose fraud and corrupt act has been exposed. “The committee never and will never request for bribe,” he said.

olalkn: Hey Guys, We don't need to trade words here ,though it amusing the way my brothers and sisters tear each other because we want voice our opinion here....love it guys,I am proud NIGERIAN ANYTIME But sha ooo,we need to remember something,we are just too sentimental with our ideology,Igbo accused Abiola of wrong doing,Yoruba man flared up and Hausaman sit on the fence.Well, let us remember the issue at hand is beyond that. Last year when we went to poll elect our President,we are all singing his praises, that he is the man to lead us to the promise land,he is best thing after the invention of bread and butter.....Simply because he s a south man. One year down the lane,we all shouting die die die....because he did not deliver he messed up big time. Lets cast our memory back to 1993,when the election was made and later annulled,No one was declared winner by then INEC and why on earth are we saying Abiola is the winner,we all know he won the election but no one was declared winner,as far as i am concern Bashir Tofa could as well be a winner. What gave us the impression that MKO Abiola will lead us to promise land,he could even worst than GEJ himself. To say Abiola die for democracy is an understatement, when did Abiola because a politician,he always working for the military,This country would have been a better place to if not him,Its the same Abiola that set up Concord in 1978 to wage media war against Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who we know what he stand for.....Its very disrespectful to talk bad about the dead.(I wont say say much about his deed) Now on the issue at hand,i totally disagree with GEJ naming Unilag after Chief Abiola or Anybody at all,Unilag is Nigeria Heritage, its part of Nigeria History that should not be desecrate,Unilag is known all over the world and well respected,Its one of well recognised University in Nigeria, there loads of things that be could done to honour Chief MKO Abiola. Please MR PRESSIDO dont go there ooo. I rest my case. |

On a serious note...Respect is earned...Until the following start, don't expect it to end anytime soon: - Jonathan should stop lying, vowing, pretending, and making promises he is not ready to do anything about. - He needs to stop shielding terror sponsors, criminals, looters, law-breakers, thugs, sycophants, etc. Prosecute them all. (Transparently, swiftly, and within the provisions of the law - bring all the proves - not Dokpesi SMS on NTA ) - Stop anti-people policies. Do things that truly uplift the people. Billion and trillions missing and nothing happening can only make things worst.

Romance › Najib Aliyu Yunusa And His Girlfriend Were Found Dead In A Car by matoyeh(op): 2:37pm On May 23, 2012 |
This world is full of calamities... Najib Aliyu Yunusa and his Girlfriend were found dead in a car at the premises of a hospital in Kano on Monday evening. When he was traveling to Kano to see his girl friend, he post this on his wall on facebook "ON MY WAY TO KANO, FRIENDS I NEED UR PRAYERS. on May 18 at 7:13am via his blackberry· And every body wished him safe jouney..... what really happened? no body know... read the full story... Decomposing remains of a man and a woman believed to be lovers were found in a car at the premises of a hospital in Kano on Monday evening, two months after a similar incident in the city. The corpses of Najib Aliyu and Nadiya Abdullahi Gwammaja were traced to a Nissan Avalanche car after complaints of a putrid odour by passers-by and patients at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, officials said. No one could say for sure as at yesterday what caused the death of the two, who were in their early 30s and said to have met through social networking on Blackberry cell phones. The late Najib made this last post on his Facebook wall on Friday at 7.28am: “On my way to Kano, friends I need ur prayers.” Over the weekend, his friends and family shared a Blackberry message announcing his disappearance: “A man by the name Najeeb Aliyu Yunusa has been missing since Friday evening. He was last seen in Kano. He is from Kano and one of the managers of Azman Petroleum Abuja. All efforts to trace him proved abortive as his lines were also off. Please copy and share, let’s try and see how we can help. You may be saving a life as you do this.” A hospital official said yesterday that after patients complained about the some strange smell, workers traced the source of the odour to the car in which the decomposing bodies were found at about 7pm on Monday. People who saw the corpses before they were evacuated said there was no sign of physical injuries or violence on them. Spokesman for the hospital, Alhaji Aminu Inuwa Ringim, confirmed the incident. “It was the bad odour coming out of the car that attracted the attention of passers-by, who later reported the matter to the management of the hospital,” Ringim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). “The deceased were suspected to have died since Friday when they came there and parked, only God knows what happened,” he added. A relation of the late Nadiya told journalists in Kano yesterday that the two were not “lovers” as was being rumoured but “mere Blackberry friends” who met through social networking on Blackberry cell phones. “We discovered that she obtained the contact of the deceased man from one of her closest female friends in our area,” he said. Nadiya was a divorcee who had married twice and had a 6-year-old daughter from the second marriage. For his part, Najib was a manager with an oil company in Abuja who was also married and had two children. “After her marriage ended she came back to stay in our family house which is located near Gidan danBuzu in Gwammaja area,” Nadiya’s brother said. “Our family lost contact with my sister since Friday after she claimed she was visiting her younger sister’s home where the deceased man picked her. “When Nadiya was about to leave for her sister’s home she told us she was expecting a visitor from Abuja. We later learnt that the visitor picked Nadiya and her sister and drove them to the house of one of her ex-husband’s relatives where she paid a condolence visit. “From there she told her sister that her visitor would escort her to collect some new clothes from a tailor and would return shortly. That was how we lost contact with her until we heard over the radio that she was found dead with a man inside a car at Aminu Kano Hospital.” Deputy spokesman of the Kano Police Command, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya, who confirmed the incident, said samples for post mortem had been taken from the corpses before they were released to their families for burial. This was the second time in as many months that dead people were found in cars in Kano. On March 14, a man and woman in their 20s were found dead inside a Peugeot 406 car at Kundila quarters in Kano, which incidentally is near the hospital where Monday’s incident happened. The man was identified as Abubakar Abba while the lady was Ummul Khair Muhammad. They were also said to have met via Blackberry messaging.
