SportsEtuhu Returns To England; Mikel, Shittu In Camp by matoyeh(op): 11:36am On Sep 02, 2010
Eguavoen’s squad complete for Madagascar showdown in Calabar

FOOTBALL:

One of the foreign based players listed by coach Augustine Eguavoen for the prosecution of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday in Calabar, Dickson Etuhu has returned to England.

Etuhu had reported to the Super Eagles Bolton

Apartment base in Abuja, but had to be excused as a result of an ankle injury which has ruled him out of Eagles vs Madagascar match on Sunday.

The Fulham midfielder left camp on Wednesday for London just as Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel and defender Danny Shittu arrived the national team’s camp Wednesday morning from the Queensland and were part of the team’s training later in the day.

The Chelsea of England midfielder’s arrival quelled stormy speculations over his availability for the match against Madagascar which will take place on Sunday in Calabar with head coach, Augustine Eguavoen earlier expressing concerns over the former Plateau United’s lack of communication with him.

Mikel and Shittu are understood to have hit Nigeria aboard a British Airways flight.

While Mikel is enjoying a career bliss at Stamford Bridge, Shittu dropped down in the pecking order at Reebok stadium. He also failed to secure any deal to take him away from Bolton Wanderers during the summer.

The two players’ arrival in camp on Wednesday brings to 24, the number of players in the team’s Bolton Apartment abode.

They are expected to depart Abuja Thursday morning for Calabar, venue of Sunday’s African Cup of Nations qualification match against Madagascar.

SEASONS OF RELEASE OF THE RIVER OF GOD
“…and it shall be that everything that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live”
(Ezekiel 47:9)

The Lord spoke to me recently concerning this new season and time. He revealed the significance of the river of God of which Ezekiel was shown in Ezekiel 47. Ezekiel was taken to the temple of God and there he saw water flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the East. He was led by a man who measured the water. The man led him through water that was ankle deep. By the second measurement the water was knee deep and at the third it was waist deep. Each of these levels measured one thousand cubits. The man measured the water at another one thousand cubits but this time it was a river that Ezekiel said he could not cross; “for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed” (Ezekiel 47:5). Ezekiel saw the healing waters of God also; “and it shall be that everything that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live” (Ezekiel 47:9). When Ezekiel had seen the four levels the water measured up to, the man asked; “Son of man, do you see this?” (Ezekiel 47:6). It is important for you to “see” not with your natural eyes but the eyes of your spirit what the Lord is revealing at this time of your life. The Lord desires to vindicate you in this important day and month, and to show you great and previously inaccessible truth but now accessible by virtue of the blood of Jesus Christ. In the natural Ezekiel saw water but spiritually the river symbolizes life from God and His abundant blessings that flow from His throne. The man in the supernatural experience showed Ezekiel the life giving nature of the water that flows from God’s temple. Beloved, the life source of all blessings is from the Lord. As you meditate on the word of the Lord today, remember that the river of God has been released to flood your life, home, marriage, business, relationships and that the bible says that whatever it touches shall live.

Further Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 47, Revelation 22

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your revelatory word today as a new gate to time opens. May my spirit respond to your call to enter into new realms of experience of your glory in Jesus’ name, amen.

TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE LORD’S ABUNDANCE
“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3)

Psalm 72:19 says; “And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.” This is a season for the release of the river of God upon the earth. Ezekiel was in a supernatural experience where he was taken to see the water that flows from the throne of God, and also the river bank where the impact of contact with God’s healing waters could be seen. He saw on either side of the river all kinds of ever green trees used for food. The trees would bear fruit every month because their waters flow from the sanctuary of the holy God. Fruit from the trees that shall grow at the bank of the river of God will be for food and their leaves for medicine. In other words, the trees will not have a redundant part to it. Rivers are used in scripture quite often to symbolize the Holy Spirit, and also abundance. When the Spirit of the Lord is in control of your life, barrenness will not take place nor will famine come near your dwelling. This shall be your portion in this season in Jesus’ name. Ezekiel was shown a depiction of the future glory of the church; the Lord’s possibilities for your benefit, and enjoyment. The river of God has been released from the heavenly realm, to usher you into seasons of abundant blessings. Are you ready to dive in? The vision of Ezekiel reveals four levels of relationship with the Holy Spirit; ankle, knee, waist deep, and then a level where you can no longer play in the waters but you must be submerged in His glory. Along the banks of the river of God are trees that yield fruit monthly, depicting permanence of prosperity and longevity of life. The Lord is releasing His abundance over your life in this new cycle of time but, you need to be in an intertwined relationship of passionate love and intimacy with His Spirit. You shall experience a fresh visitation of the Holy Spirit today and a fresh release of God’s river of abundant blessings, to enable you fulfill your purpose in this season.  Are you ready for a time of your life? The time has come for you to enjoy God’s abundance.

Further Scripture Reading: Isaiah 11:9, Isaiah 60, Habakkuk 2:14

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for your grace and your mercy. I give you praise everlasting Father for a new day. May the anointing of your word release your abundance in my life, this day and forever, amen

THE LORD HAS RISEN OVER YOU!
“The wealth of Gentiles shall come to you” (Isaiah 60:5)

Arise, Shine, For your light has come! And the glory of God is risen upon you. For behold the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising (Isaiah 60:1-3). This is the promise of God as you come into a new phase of your life as a believer and as you enter into a new season of God. To appropriate the blessings and benefit of this season, you need to understand that your ability to ride on the tide of issues that will seek to dominate you will depend on your determination to believe the Lord. Your ability to walk on waters of life depends on your ability to keep your focus on Jesus Christ. You are now in a season of increase of revelation as Daniel prophesied in chapter 12:4; “…knowledge shall increase.”After the Lord showed Daniel a vision of the future, He said; “But you Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, until the time of the end.” Regarding that time of the end, Daniel was informed that many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. People are running to and fro, and indeed knowledge has increased on the earth. Defiled knowledge is seeking to take over the earth, and to deceive believers in particular and by so doing, derail many travelling on the course of destiny. Knowledge of the word of God will guarantee knowledge of the will of God. Satan cannot unpick, unfold or unveil the will of God to know what to attack because he can’t get that close to God. The time has come for your mind to receive a revelation overhaul, making room for fresh and new strategies for applying God’s word in your life.  Are you ready?

Further Scripture Reading: Isaiah 60:4-5, 11, 19-20; Isaiah 61:6-7, Isaiah 66:18

Prayer: Lord, I receive your word in this new day. I choose to be open and empty to receive fresh strategies to move my life and mission of earth forward by your grace, Oh Lord, through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen

IF YOU CAN BELIEVE
“Do not be afraid; only believe” (Mark 5:36)

When you know the will of God for your life, and then peg God’s predetermined will in a season and time accurately you will function as the winner and “more than a conqueror” that you are. Why is this so? The devil cannot deceive an informed believer. Such a person does not have gaps in their understanding of the will of God. They know without a shadow of doubt that God’s will is perfect. There are no cracks in the wall of understanding built by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth in the heart of a believer. When you make the word of God your guideline and life’s manual, you will surely become a place of habitation for God’s glory. This is the time for the fulfillment of the potent promise from Habakkuk 2:14 that teach us to know that the knowledge of the glory of God will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. How will the knowledge of God’s glory cover the earth? When believers like yourself come into the place of stubborn resolve concerning the promises of God and begin to walk in the light of God’s word; darkness shall be dispelled. In other words, when you believe as of a truth for instance, that the earth is the Lord’s and all of its fullness, you will live and run your life differently. Firstly, your life will be run from the place of total submission to the Lord; “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God” (Romans 8:14). Your life will be lived from the place of revelation, and confidence that comes from knowing the will of God, rather than commonsense calculations. When you believe the words of Psalm 24:1 that the earth is the Lord’s and its fullness, you will easily receive the revelation that you have the right to expect blessings wherever you are located as a child of the living God. Mark Twain said; “Faith is believing what you know ain’t so.”

Further Scripture Reading: Psalm 71:1-3, Mark 5:45-56, Mark 9:14-24,

Prayer: Thank you Lord for an encouraging word of life. I receive nourishment to my spirit from your throne room today, amen

PERSEVERING FAITH
“How is it that you have no faith?” (Luke 4:40)

C.H Spurgeon the renowned theologian once said; “Faith and obedience are bound up in the same bundle; he that obeys God trusts God; and he that trusts God obeys God. He that is without faith is without works, and he that is without works is without faith.” What a thought provoking statement from a man who knew the way to the heart of the Father. It is not alright to claim to have faith and then not give legs or action to the faith you profess to have. The day has come when your spiritual positioning should be that of advancement and not retreat. Your mindset shall be of victory and not of defeat. You have come through many waters and kept your head above the waters because the Lord promises you that; “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.” You have been through many rivers and not drowned because the Lord promises; “And through the rivers they shall not overflow.” You have also walked through fires and come out with glowing skin because the Lord promised; “When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” All these promises speaking to you today were prophesied by the prophet Isaiah millenniums ago, but the ageless God had today and you in focus also. His word is not time limited! Isaiah’s prophecy is not obsolete but remains powerful; infallible and timeless. The gate of time is open once more to believers, to unveil God’s next thing for your life. This is a month to make some clear decisions on how to press into God; a time to push through to the mark set for you by the Lord who does not lie (Numbers 23:19). The Spirit of the Lord calls on you today to come to the place of discovery of spiritual blessings stored up for you in heavenly places and to know how to release faith necessary for the physical manifestation of those blessings. The Holy Spirit says to you this day; “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare” (Isaiah 42:9). The Lord is speaking new things in this hour; great things and all because you have arrived at a new place.  You are a winner!

TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE NEXT LEVEL
“When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory” (Proverbs 28:12)

The Lord is worthy of all praise and all adoration. He made this day and He is to be hallowed. Let all the earth rejoice today, for it is the Lord who made the day. He will perfect everything that concerns you. The life of a believer can be described in one short but weighty sentence;”one long transition;” which also means; “one long journey.”  The Christian experience takes you from one level of glory to the other; growing and maturing you into whom the Lord purposed for you to be. In this long transition exists moments already programmed, set aside; pre-marked and preordained by the Lord as your very best seasons. Equally important is the fact that the Lord has also prearrangement the instruments of change that will be used to help get you to your next level in Christ. The instruments of change are chiefly humans. Circumstances, inordinate things can be used also to effect change. At times of crossover into next levels of life’s experiences you become a critical partner with heaven for your own promotion. At these times the treasure of God in you is activated by the Holy Spirit to hasten your acceleration into that new place prepared for you in your marriage, business, ministry and any other spheres. Daniel’s projection and ultimate promotion in Babylon came through projection of his supernatural ability to interpret dreams. God made king Nebuchadnezzar have a dream that bothered him. None of his astrologers, magicians and sorcerers could interpret the king’s dream. Similarly in Joseph’s day of elevation, Pharaoh had a dream. Joseph’s gift of interpreting dreams projected him before Pharaoh. The gift of God in you that you have allowed to remain dormant or disdained and overlooked shall be the same ones the Lord will use to make room for you in this season. David’s musical skills placed him before King Saul as a minstrel. Beloved of God, your fine oratory gifts will open doors before great man and women this month who will hear words spoken through you as sounds of waterfall; bringing peace to their souls. Listen out for the voice of the Lord speaking.

Further Scripture Reading: Proverbs 18:16, 2 Corinthians 4:7

Prayer: Thank you Father that my season to be remembered is here. I bless your name Lord, for giving me the grace to wait until my change comes. May your gift in me bring me before great men, in Jesus name, amen

TIME TO DISCOVER THE POWER OF UNDERSTANDING
“, the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10)

Proverbs 4:7 says; “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” A time of greater release of supernatural power is also a time to be alert, vigilant and watchful for the things that come to trip you up as a believer. Satan is always dangling his carrots at believers but you must be full of the word of the Lord so that you are able to reject his carrots. This is the hour to be built up as a fortified city with, and by the word of God. There is a prescription in the word of God for every ailment man can have hence you have to develop passion and love for the word of God. You are in a year of “first things, first” or a time of re-patterning after the original blueprint of God. You are in a season of resetting of time; a time to record new things. When the enemy comes at you like an “out of control” river, the bible teaches you to know what next- The Spirit of God will raise a standard against that enemy (Isaiah 59:19). The Amplified Version of the bible says that; “,  the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. Unless you seek knowledge of God’s word, you may not know exactly how to defeat problems that rush at you like a rushing stream. You may expend unnecessary energy on troubles that should be left for the winds of the Lord to drive. Job said he treasured the words out of the mouth of the Lord more than his necessary food. Imagine treasuring the word of the Lord more than your favorite burger or rice meal? This is the reality of your priesthood.  If you fill your mind with the word of the Lord as a New Testament priest, your strength will not be small in the day of adversity.
Are you ready for a fresh “word of God” baptism? The season to rediscover the power of understanding is here. Be blessed!

Prayer: Your word Lord I shall hide in my heart that I may not sin against you in this day of the Lord, amen

SportsSiasia’s Eagles Deal Not Dead! by matoyeh(op): 1:49pm On Sep 01, 2010
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari has unequivocally stated that the proposed

appointment of former Super Eagles striker, Samson Siasia as the new coach of the senior national team is still on the cards.

Maigari insisted that despite speculations making the round that talks with the coach who guided Nigerian Flying Eagles and the U-23 Dream Team IV to the 2005 U-20 World Cup and 2008 Olympics where he won silver for Nigeria could be quashed, the new NFF board remain hopeful that Siasia will become the next boss of the Super Eagles.

A former member of the Sani Lulu Abdullahi led NFF board where he served as the Finance Committee Chairman, Maigari made this declaration during the National Sports summit on Tuesday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, in Lagos.

“Samson Siasia’s Eagles appointment is still in the plans of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Since government is a continuum, we shall carry on with what is already an ongoing deal as it were.

Although this is a new board, don’t forget that I was also in the former board that began the negotiations with Siasia.

At the right time, we will make an official pronouncement on the matter,” the Bauchi State- born administrator assured.

Samson Siasia who is currently chief coach of Nigeria’s representatives at the CAF Champions League, Heartland was due to be unveiled today (September 1) as substantive coach of the Super Eagles, taking over from his one-time teammate during their playing days, Austine Eguavoen who is in charge of the team on temporary basis.

SportsOkocha: ‘nigerian Football Needs Divine Intervention!’ by matoyeh(op): 1:41pm On Sep 01, 2010
WHY THE INTEREST IN FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATION?

I have discovered that the best way to ignite change in a certain office is to be part and parcel of such office. Having played football to the highest level, it dawned on me that the only way I can give back to the society is to get involved in Football Administration, most especially at the highest cadre which to me is the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
My main purpose of jostling for NFF top job is to be able to do justice to Nigerian football, which to me has been crawling all these years. Initially I thought I could get all the support needed to get into the office, but later realised that I was contesting with a group of men who have been in the system for years and of course, they know themselves inside out.

THE STRUGGLE

Fine, my brother, Emmanuel Okocha did say my records and pedigree are more than enough to get me into NFF and I agree, but there is a due process to follow to get into the board.
That is the way it is done abroad, but unfortunately in Nigeria, we have our own ways of doing things differently, so I had to contest just like all other contestants. I have always known in Nigeria, nothing is guaranteed irrespective of your pedigree, fame and good name. That is the system we have found ourselves in. The lessons of the election will remain vivid in my memory for the rest of my life. I have come to realise the simple fact that it will take divine intervention for football to chart a new course administratively, simply because lots of people now see NFF as a gold mine where lots of millions can be made.
Irrespective of the outcome of the result of the elections, I strongly feel Nigerian football will surely find it’s true course and go ahead to be one of the best in the World.

WHY FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATION AND NOT COACHING?

Of course football is my life and my passion, but I have always declared to you in all my interviews why I won’t be going into football coaching, at least for my own sake. I regard coaching as one of the most difficult professions in the world. I feel there have been lots of rot and decay in football administration in this great country. I realise that those Nigerians entrusted with the responsibilities of administering and developing the game are not just doing anything to change the fortunes of the game and the players alike. Also, if you consider how most of our ex-internationals suffer neglect, most of them can hardly fend for themselves, then I realise that I cannot sit on the fence and expect changes to occur. I have to come in any capacity I can serve the country and I am happy I gave it my best shot at the end of the day. What is important now is to just enjoin Nigerians to rally behind the board.

THE VIRUS AND CORRUPTION IN NFF

I know lots of Nigerians feel one can be easily polluted given the corruption and canker worm inherent in Nigerian Football Federation over the years. Many have said categorically that no saint goes to the Glass House and comes out with his garment devoid of stains, but I strongly disagree with that; lots of Nigerians know that God in his infinite mercy has given me enough to take care of myself and my family for the rest of our lives, but my mission from the first day I declared my interest in the board, is to help give back to the people and establishment that gave me the opportunity to serve my fatherland. I have played the game to the highest level before and I know what we suffered in the national team. Most of my family and friends feel it will be a good thing if I have the opportunity to serve in the Glass House. You can’t assume that Austin Okocha will be changed by the system because I have my name to protect. There is nothing you do in NFF that will not come to the light for all to see, so I strongly feel those Administrators who became different persons entirely and perpetrate corruption in NFF are not being influenced, rather, they are just carrying out their missions.

WHY EX-INTERNATIONALS FIND IT DIFFICULT TO GET INTO NFF BOARD

That is a difficult puzzle which we have been trying to unravel over the years. Kalusha Bwalya played for Zambia up to the highest level and he successfully moved on to become Zamibia FA boss.
It is a different story entirely here in Nigeria, we see lots of people coming into football administration simply because football has become a gold mine to loot from. My feelings are that nobody will be willing to come near football administration once the source of looting is removed. Decree 101 has been there since 1992 and it has become a source of looting for football politicians.
This is one of the reasons why corporate sponsorship has been a major problem over the years. Some of us who once played this game still keep our intergrity and by the special grace of God; we are a brand that can attract corporate sponsorship.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

Well, I will say that is also a very hard question for me because, am not a soothsayer. Nigeria will always survive as a nation but all we need to do things right if we must get the right results.
There is need for us to restructure Nigerian football from the grassroots and then move on to stabilise age grade tournaments in the country. We all know the talents abound but these talents need to be well harnessed into becoming world beaters. I want an NFF that is devoid of corruption, nepotism and maladministration. My dream NFF is that board that will place strong values on football development and not just participations in competitions alone. I want an NFF that will restore the pride of this nation at the senior level and most importantly use footballers both home and abroad as tools to achieving that cause.
I am just appealing to the Nigerians to still support the board and hope that things change for the best.

SIASIA’S APPOINTMENT

I am happy that at least we have managed to appoint the right man for the job after having many square pegs in round holes.
He (Siasia) is a man who knows his onions as far as football is concerned and he should not have problems succeeding with Super Eagles. We have always called for ex-internationals to lead the way but I’m happy we now have Siasia, who will bring sanity back into our Super Eagles if given all the necessary support. His wealth of experiences as an ex-international will really come in handy most especially in the areas of players selections which has been a major area that needs to be sanitized. I am happy he knows these players very well and should not have problems picking the right calibres of young players needed to wear the national team jersey.
My candid advice to Siasia is to remain incorruptible and ensure that he selects his players on merit. I am glad he said all players who must wear Super Eagles jersies must command regular shirts at their respective clubs; that is the way forward.

SUPER EAGLES

I look forward to seeing a strong Super Eagles in the mould of the USA ‘94 team. The arrival of Samson Siasia will pave way for a new generation of good players who will be committed to taking Nigerian football to the highest level. What has been lacking in that team is absolute commitment from the players; a factor I strongly believe plays a major role in determining team success.
I believe we will see a younger and vibrant national team that will evolve from the local league. They should not have problems qualifying for the African Nations Cup that I think we have no business not winning.

REGRET

I have no regret losing out in the NFF election. It is not the end of the World for me, but I am happy that I have given the election a trial. I will return home to my family and continue life at the top level. I did say it was a 50-50 thing, now that I am out, I wish all the board members all the best in their tenures. I competed against those who have been there for years and in all honesty; they know themselves.
I felt I should give back to Nigeria instead of returning to Bolton FC that was why I chose to settle down at home after Bolton pleaded that I stay behind to impact my knowledge into the young ones. It is not the end of the world for me and I have no regrets competing in NFF election at all.

Christianity EtcWhy Cant We Perform Miracles By Our Selves? by matoyeh(op): 6:10pm On Aug 26, 2010
According to Bible "i tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there"and he would listen to you, Matthew 17:20

Some people have faiths and they believe they can move mountain, but, unfortunately, they cant,
I could remember when i traveled to Ibadan, Nigeria. I heard about a man that went to zoo (where tiger was kept) he jumped into the cage and pray that GOD "GOD, GIVE ME POWER TO CONQUER THIS TIGER!!!!, He believed God will certainly give him power as he gives Samson because he has faith (Confidence). The tiger rushed him and tear this man apart, undecided

Why? What happened? I know the man tempted GOD because the bible says, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God (Matt 4:7)

Now tell me, why must some people receive healing while some will not?
With faith, Mountain can be moved, but some people prayed after having faith, and nothing would happen,

Can somebody tell me something i need to know?

Christianity EtcExtraordinary Power – Karu, Nigeria – Day 2 ( See Pictures) by matoyeh(op): 2:08pm On Aug 24, 2010
The power of God fell in an extraordinary way and miracles began to take place even before I had finished praying for the sick.

As I was praying I saw a young woman running to the platform with crutches raised over her head. I immediately called her up to the platform. She came with her sister and they told me that she had been crippled by a severe spinal cord injury, but suddenly the power of God came over her and she was totally healed. They wept and embraced as they told the story (see picture below).

A woman brought her husband who had been mad. He was so violent and vicious that he had to be tied up. Before the meeting he was bound, hands and feet behind the platform, but during the prayer he returned to his senses. They cut the ties and set him free. He was calm and spoke softly to me in his right mind (see picture below).

A young man testified that he was crippled on the right side of his body for 11 years. Tonight, during the prayer for the sick, he suddenly felt something come out of his head and realized that he had full and perfect use of his arms and legs!

A woman, deaf in her right ear for 20 years received her hearing as well.

These were but a small sampling of the many mighty miracles that took place tonight, but the greatest miracle of all was the multitudes that responded to the message and received salvation.

Please continue to pray for us and the many people who need the touch of God here in Karu, Nigeria.

Yours in the Harvest,

Evangelist Daniel Kolenda

This woman had been crippled by cancer but was totally healed tonight

200,000 people attended the crusade on Day 2 in Karu, Nigeria-August 2010

15 years ago, Karu, Nigeria was known as “The One Man Village” because of its incredibly small population. Tonight – the first night of this campaign – more than 110,000 people poured onto the crusade field, eager to hear the message of salvation. As I preached the Gospel, the massive crowd stood motionless…hanging on every word. When I gave the invitation for salvation they responded in huge numbers surrendering their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

After the prayer for the sick, the glory of the Lord rested on that dusty Nigerian field in a powerful way and miracles began to break out everywhere! Even as we listened to the testimonies our voices were often drowned out by the sound of the crowd erupting with shouts of joy as miracles continued to occur throughout the night. It was glorious!

Among those healed was:

A woman deaf in her left ear for 12 years. To test her healing, I asked her to plug her right ear (which had been the good one) and walked to the other side of the platform. I asked her to say “Hallelujah” and she shouted back…”Hallelujah”!
An elderly lady told us how her leg had been broken three years ago in an accident. Tonight after the prayer she could walk and even run!
A 4-year-old crippled boy stood and walked tonight for the first time in his life.
Tomorrow morning, as the sun is rising, we will be back to the crusade field to preach to thousands of pastors and church workers in the Fire Conference. Please continue to pray for us and the multitudes that will be saved, delivered, healed and filled with the Holy Spirit this week.

Out of Season, but Right on Time
Danielkolenda.com 18. August 2010 - 2:34

Dear Missions Partners,

We have just arrived in the city of Karu in Nigeria where the people have been waiting for our arrival with great anticipation. It is officially the beginning of the 2010-2011 Crusade season and we are so eager to jump back into this unprecedented and historic harvest of souls taking place on the African continent.

The pastors told us today that our coming now is especially significant to them because it was in August of 1910 that the first missionaries came to this region…exactly 100 years ago this month! Although it is rainy season here in Nigeria and we technically consider this our “Out of Season” crusade, we all have a sense that the timing of this event has been divinely orchestrated.

At the welcome dinner tonight, the crusade chairman said, “The atmosphere of this land changed immediately once your feet touched the soil of Karu today. The spiritual temperature has tremendously increased. The high voltage of God’s power is about to be detonated and we are confident that Satan and his cohorts are already jittery.”

Over the next five days the city of Karu and its neighboring villages are going to receive a visitation from Heaven that, I am sure, will impact this land for eternity. Thank you so much for sending us and for under-girding us with your prayers as we storm the gates of Hell.

Yours in the Harvest,

Evangelist Daniel Kolenda

Residents in the Nigerian village of Karu are seeing an outpouring of healing miracles, with the deaf hearing, lame walking and a man healed of mental illness.

So says Daniel Kolenda, an evangelist with Christ for All Nations, a Florida-based ministry founded by Reinhard Bonnke that has been leading crusades across Africa for more than 30 years.

In an email report about CfaN's Karu crusade this week, Kolenda said a woman who had been crippled by a spinal cord injury rushed onto the platform with her crutches raised over her head. Another woman who had been deaf for 20 years reportedly was able to hear, and a young man who was unable to use the right side of his body for 11 years was miraculously healed.

"During the prayer for the sick, he suddenly felt something come out of his head and realized that he had full and perfect use of his arms and legs," Kolenda reported.

Another man whose family claimed he was mentally ill was brought to the meeting for prayer.

"He was so violent and vicious that he had to be tied up," Kolenda said of the man. "Before the meeting, he was bound, hands and feet, behind the platform, but during the prayer he returned to his senses. They cut the ties and set him free. He was calm and spoke softly to me in his right mind."

The five-day outreach in Karu, located near Abuja, Nigeria, marks the beginning of CfaN's crusade season and. The ministry will host large-scale evangelist meetings primarily in Nigeria almost monthly. Since 2000, CfaN reports that 55 million people have completed cards indicating they made decisions for Christ at crusades led by Bonnke and Kolenda.

Kolenda said roughly 110,000 people attend the first night of the Karu crusade, with the number increasing to 200,000 the second night. In addition to the physical healings, he said hundreds have accepted Christ during the meetings, which end Sunday.

CultureArmed Robber Burnt To Death by matoyeh(op): 5:12pm On Aug 14, 2010
A robber, who together with a colleague attempted to snatch a bag from its owner but could not succeed, has been lynched and burnt to death by an angry mob on the Spintex Road in Accra.

The robber, who was said to be riding an unregistered motorbike with his colleague, initially slashed the left hand of a phone card dealer on the Spintex Road, close to the On the Run restaurant, when they attempted snatching the dealer's handbag from him and he resisted with a sharp butcher's knife.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Michael H. Addae, the District Crime Officer at the Sakumono Police Headquarters, noted that Solomon Amu Blay, a phone card dealer, at about 4:30pm reported his ordeal in the hands of the robbers to the police, after which he was issued with a police medical report form to attend hospital.

He stated that at about 7pm the same day, his outfit again received a report that the same gang who attacked the phone card dealer had spotted at the First Avenue Chemical Shop in the same area.

According to the ACP, the robbers attempted snatching a handbag from a lady, but the pillion rider fell from the motorbike they used in the failed operation. The other robber riding the motorbike managed to speed off.

ACP Addae further stated that since the scene of the first incident was not far from the second one, some unknown persons identified the robbers as the same gang who attacked the first victim.

He added that the police had a distress call from an unknown person informing the police that an armed robber who attempted to rob someone had been arrested and lynched by an angry mob.

He stated that he quickly deployed his men to the scene to rescue the suspect, adding that at the time of their arrival at the scene, they spotted the lifeless body of the said robber surrounded with lorry tires and dry wood set ablaze.

ACP Addae noted that the police personnel quickly scattered the fire, after which they put it out and retrieved the lifeless body.

He said when the body was removed, it was burnt beyond recognition, noting that it has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

ASP Addae advised pedestrians to be wary of such people and also ensure that their bags are secured.

He also entreated them to always walk in pairs since such robbers attack persons who always walk alone, adding that businessmen and women should also desist from keeping huge sums of monies on them since such miscreants are always very observant. From Vincent Kubi, Sakumono

Christianity EtcStunning! How Tb Joshua Saw Super-eagles Stalemate by matoyeh(op): 4:59pm On Aug 14, 2010
As the Nigerian 'Super Eagles' grounded to a disappointing draw in their crucial World Cup qualifying match with Tunisia, little did they know that Pastor TB Joshua had symbolically revealed the result several hours before kick-off…

Disclosing the prophetic revelation he received the night before, the famous Nigerian cleric spoke to a packed auditorium at The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday 6th September 2009 in a service watched by multitudes worldwide on Emmanuel TV. It was approximately 8am. “Yesterday, I kept hearing, football, football, football,” he said, much to the delight of the avid football fans in the crowd. “I said, 'God, what is this football all about?' And the Lord showed me everything from the beginning to the end. It came to a stage that the host of Heaven were the ones playing football - because the whole thing was tough. So, both sides – nobody played ball again. But who are these people playing football? I could not see any players again because it was tough to decide. So, both sides that were playing football – it got to a stage – the whole thing was just – here is balanced, here is balanced. But decision - what is decision? It's like, both sides left the field. They could not take a decision – who is the most powerful among the two. So, it got to a stage, okay, go and sit down, go and sit down. I will not say more than that.”

As the people pondered on the prophetic and parabolic words from TB Joshua, Nigeria and Tunisia walked onto the pitch at the National Stadium, Abuja several hours later at 5pm, egged on by 60,000 fervent fans. In a closely fought contest which saw Nigeria take the lead on two occasions through Osaze Odemwinge and

Michael Eneramo, Tunisia grabbed a vital equaliser in the dying minutes of the second half to seal a 2-2 draw, drastically denting Nigeria's World Cup aspirations in the process. The stalemate saw Tunisia maintain pole position in their qualifying group with only two games remaining, Nigeria left to bank on the Tunisians stumbling against either Kenya or Mozambique to ignite any hope of going to South Africa in 2010. As the prophet had said, the match was both a tough and balanced affair, neither team proving powerful enough to secure the decisive victory.

Not the first revelation relating to the field of football, it is on record that TB Joshua had also accurately spoken of the 2008 African Cup of Nations quarterfinal encounter between Nigeria and Ghana. “I'm just seeing 5 minutes,” said the prophet in the service of Sunday 3rd February 2008, indicating that something significant would happen within such timeframe. He also made the sign of the number '1' in the air, symbolically conveying the margin by which victory would be achieved. “You should not allow anything to affect your joy today,” Joshua told the stunned Nigerian supporters, calling on them to 'take heart'. True to the prophet's words, it was in the last five minutes of the first and second half that Ghana equalised then scored the winning goal in the game that was played later that day, Ghana triumphing 2-1 to send Nigeria out of the cup.

Prophet Joshua's teacher in Primary School, Mrs Margaret Tolani Adejumo, testified that this prophetic insight started right from childhood, the young Joshua often predicting the outcome of local football matches with remarkable accuracy and consistency, earning him the nickname 'small pastor'.

TB Joshua's prophetic ministry continues to garner growing patronage, his recent proclamations concerning the deaths of legal luminary Gani Fawehinmi and iconic pop legend Michael Jackson both making headlines across various print and online media. In his Sunday services broadcast live on Emmanuel TV, he prophesies not only of forthcoming events, but also to individuals present, oftentimes disclosing details they have never relayed to anyone else.
Christianity Etc“t. B. Joshua Is Fake” (1) by matoyeh(op): 4:43pm On Aug 14, 2010
Mills' Pastor's miracles are stage-managed;

…An adulterer and a murderer- former 2nd in command

Ghanaian President, John Evans Atta Mills might have vouched for his healing prowess as rare divine gift; but snippets of information gathered from an interview that one Pastor Godswill Agomoh Paul, one time 2nd in command to Pastor Tomitope Balogun (T.B.) Joshua granted the highly read Nigerian magazine- Life Way, suggest that the General Oversee of the Synagogue Church of all Nations based in Ekotu Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria is fake.

Pastor Godswill Agomah, who was one time head of the Ghana Branch of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, blew the whistle to the Nigerian magazine which had sought his opinion over a video documentary where he (Pastor Agomah) and other devotees of the Church had accused their former boss of grand deception, manipulation and voodoo acts.

Although he gave many reasons for his actions, he told the magazine that what triggered his departure from the Synagogue Church was an attempt by T.B Joshua to use him to kill Pastor Peter Kayode, the first head Pastor of the Ghana branch of the Synagogue Church.

Pastor Kayode helped to establish the Ghana branch of the Synagogue Church in 1997 at Agbobgloshie, a suburb of Accra. He is currently the head of the Awakeners Chapel, situated at Kotobabi in Accra.

“My own assignment was to go to Ghana and bring Pastor Kayode dead or alive,” Godswill Paul revealed, adding, “I knew I could bring him (Kayode) back alive, but I did not know how to bring him back dead”. The Joshua order, according to Pastor Godswill Paul, was issued to him in 2004.

The grand Joshua scheme against Pastor Kayode, Godswill disclosed, included doing everything possibly within his power to get the Ghanaian resident permit of Pastor Kayode revoked by the Ghana Immigration Service, a situation, the pastor explained, would have compelled Pastor Kayode to return to Nigeria or relocate elsewhere. But that did not work. Why?

“I got some elders to get me Kayode's file from the immigration office. That was when I discovered he had married a Ghanaian lady and fathered two children from her. He had naturalized and established an NGO that the government recognized and even gave awards to for the work he was doing,” Pastor Godswill Paul declared, adding “I also discovered that Kayode had established Awakeners Chapel two years back. Every legal means of bringing him back was futile”.

According to Pastor Godswill, T.B. Joshua had recalled him from his Benin base, and asked him to bring back Pastor Kayode, who T.B. Joshua had accused of rebelling against him by establishing his own Church in Ghana at a time that Kayode was expected to help grow the Ghana branch of the Synagogue Church in Ghana.

But aside his legal stay in Ghana, Pastor Godswill told the magazine that after his abortive attempts to get Pastor Kayode back to Nigeria to continue his pastoral work at the parent Synagogue Church in Nigeria, he was convinced that Pastor Kayode had a genuine reason for being reticent.

He told the Nigerian Life Way magazine that Pastor Kayode suspected that T.B. Joshua was having elicit amorous affairs with his wife and that explained why Joshua prevented her from joining his husband (Pastor Kayode) in Ghana.

“From 1997 to 2004, Kayode's wife was in Lagos with Joshua in the Synagogue Church. She was never allowed to visit the husband in Ghana,” Godswill noted, disclosing further that when the wife eventually got to Ghana “the husband refused to sleep with her. Kayode was suspicious of the move (for her wife to relocate to Ghana) because Joshua had separated him and his wife for over six years”.

“Kayode also claimed that he knew Joshua was sleeping with his wife, and that was why he did not sleep with his wife and that was why he kept her in Lagos for those years,” Pastor Godswill said. “When Joshua heard about Kayode's refusal to sleep with his wife, he invited both of them to Lagos. Then he instructed Kayode to go and bring his stuff from Ghana and stay in Lagos for a while until the differences between them were resolved”.

But Pastor Kayode, according to Pastor Godsill, would not budge. “When Kayode returned to Ghana he refused to come back to Lagos. Instead he went to establish his own church and many members followed him. From a membership of about 2000 only about 20 remained in the church (Synagogue Church of All Nations, Ghana). This infuriated Joshua”.

Joshua would then order Pastor Godswill to find any means possible to bring back Pastor Kayode.

“I tried to make contact in the military, but they told me they could not do anything. Even if he committed a crime he could not be repatriated. He would be charged and prosecuted as a citizen, I was told,” Pastor Godswill narrated.

He then decided on rugged and other unorthodox methods: “I decided to try the 'Nima boys. Coincidentally, that was the day that Kayode sent texts to the remaining few members of Synagogue on why Joshua was persecuting him. He disclosed that he re-married because he knew Joshua was sleeping with his wife. That text shocked me so much”.

So what did Pastor Godswill do next? According to him, he “took a member's handset and brought it to Lagos to show him (Joshua). He just dismissed it casually. His action not only shocked me, but also snapped me out of stupor. I knew Joshua; if that allegation had no truth, he would not have taken it lightly. He would go on the offensive with everything he had. It was at this point I began to think”.

Pastor Godswill continued with his narration: “I was in Lagos in his (Pastor Joshua's) office putting finishing touches to the crusade plan (in Ghana) when Lola, Kayode's wife, came into his (Joshua's) office. I noticed the lady was pregnant and I couldn't help but point out to him that the lady was pregnant. Again he dismissed me and commanded that I face the task on hand. After that, I felt very bad. It began to dawn on me that things were not what it seemed”.

Christianity Etc'how T.b. Joshua Took My Wife' – Pastor Peter Kayode Tells It All by matoyeh(op): 4:32pm On Aug 14, 2010
Pastor Peter Kayode Falarungbon is the Head Pastor of Awakeners Chapel International.

He was the first Head Pastor of the Ghana branch of T.B. Joshua's Church, Synagogue Church of All Nations.

In the latest edition of the world acclaimed Nigerian Religious magazine-Lifeway, Pastor Kayode reveals how the Head Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua, the man whose 'spiritual prowess' has kept the Ghanaian presidency in bondage, virtually sent him into exile in Ghana in order to have canal knowledge of his (Pastor Kayode's) wife-Lola.

This is his story:
“It was in 1991 that my wife, Lola, and I went to the Synagogue. We went there because we had been married for nine years without any child. When we met Joshua he looked like a gentleman, a kind person and someone that could be relied on.

I saw him as someone representing God because of his physical and outward appearance. Within two weeks of our going there, he had gotten very close to my wife. That got me concerned but then I concluded that it could be because my wife hailed from the village next to his in Ondo State, Nigeria.

One day my former wife told me that the Prophet wanted her to work with him; that she had to do this before God could answer our prayer for a child. Since I did not want to be an obstacle, I gave her the go ahead.

Suddenly I found myself going there every day because we wanted the fruit of the womb. One day, Lola told me the Prophet wanted to see me. He (Joshua) told me God wanted to use me and that I should surrender myself to the service of the lord. It was a big battle in my heart and with my family.

I was born into and grew up in the salvation Army Church. My parents were leaders in the Church. All my siblings worshipped there. But finally I succumbed.

The first thing he did was to relocate me from where I lived in a three bedroom apartment at Ipaja road. He gave me a Chamber AND hall at Ikoutun Egbe. He told me that if I wanted to serve the Lord, I have to separate myself from the world, from my family and my friends.

Again I succumbed to that pressure. It was a serious battle with my family and friends. A friend of mine who was a Bank Manager at that time traced me to the Church and confronted me. “Kayode, are you crazy?” he quizzed. I told him to 'Just leave me alone!'

That was the beginning of my journey. I abandoned my parents and refused to see any of my siblings. I was placed in the evangelical department to study the scriptures. However, because of my Salvation Army background, I found loopholes in some of the things he taught us but I could not openly challenge him.

He later asked my wife to move into the church permanently, while I continue to stay in the chamber and hall. I would leave the house in the morning, go straight to the church and return home in the evening alone.

On Sunday mornings, she would rush in early in the morning around 6am, take a change of clothing and rush back to the church. Anytime I showed my desire for intimacy, she will refuse on the grounds that the Prophet said we should not engage in sex yet.

The Prophet had to give us a 'pass' before we could make love. I found myself taking all these instructions and there was no way out. I was simply helpless and could not save myself!

On his Pastoral Assignment
After going through the Bible Training course for about three to four years, most of my colleagues left. Some of them were well educated, I remember were Professors. They left because they could not stomach those bizarre instructions, considering their well exposed background.

I was one of two or three people who remained from my set. Agomoh set came after us. After a while, a Ghanaian named Ben and I came to Ghana in 1997 to plan a crusade, We contacted the Ghana Pentecostal Council and we marketed Joshua very well to them even though many of them did not know him.

It was not a big crusade; we had about three thousand people in attendance. We returned to Nigeria and about months later. I was sent back to Ghana to start a fellowship. One sister Cecilia, rented a three bedroom apartment for us in Achimota and that became our venue.

We began to grow from there. Up till this time, my former wife remained in Lagos; we could not talk on the phone and I could not talk to my family as well. Once in a while, maybe once in six months or once in a year, Joshua would call me and put my wife on the line. Our conversation usually went like this: “How are you?” “I am fine.” “Well I just want to find out if you are okay.” That was all.

Meanwhile, the real reason why we went to Synagogue was yet to be resolved – that was our childlessness. Somehow in my pursuit of doing the will of God, the issue took a backseat in my mind. I simply wanted to do God's work, please him and see what God would do. At some point during the years, I began to awaken from my spiritual slumber. I took a series of decisions. One of them was I must see my parents.

Early one morning, while in Lagos on his orders, I left Ikotun Egbe at 5.am.for Agege and traced my parents. They received me coldly. I was not in the least surprised. But then my mum later disclosed to me that my wife had told one of my old friends that Joshua told her it was impossible for her to conceive through me, that the lack of conception was my fault.

Although, I refused to accept that, I could not press the issue as I had to hurry back so that I could meet my appointment with T.B Joshua for 9.am that day. To my utter surprise, he was aware of my visit to my parents. My so-called wife had informed him. He asked me where I was and I told him I went to see my parents. That incident jolted me back to my senses. I began to piece things together and I perceived that something was amiss.

An accident I witnessed convinced me there was something more to the relationship between Joshua and my wife. Joshua used to flog his followers, old and young. I was privy to him trying to flog my wife once, but she just walked out on him without anything happening.

For her to have the guts to walk out on him when he was flogging others convinced me there was more to their relationship.

Back in Ghana, I remained devoted to the assignment he gave me. I even single-handedly began to sponsor his programmes on Metro T.V for two years without any financial assistance from him. The allegation of my wife with the connivance of T.B Joshua that I could not father a child continued to bother me.

Besides, as a single pastor of a congregation of about two thousand plus members, I battled with temptation. I came to a decision that I needed to remarry in order to prevent falling for temptation and also to prove to Joshua, Lola and everyone who believed the lie that they were wrong.

I also needed to put this woman out of my mind and my life for good. In Ghana, I met a lady here and I told her everything about my situation. And she agreed to my proposal. To the glory of God she got pregnant. I jubilantly announced to my parents, “I told you there was nothing wrong with me!”

On His Father`s Death
One day my younger brother in Texas called to inform me that my father was very ill. Because of Joshua`s enslavement, I could not go to Lagos to check on my father. One day my brother called again from Texas to inform me that our father had passed on. That really pained me. I called Joshua and told him of my father`s demise. He asked me to come to Lagos and specifically charged me not to inform any church member in Accra. And I complied.

Oh how stupid I was! No member of my congregation knew my father died. I boarded the plane to Lagos alone and wept all the way. I was so sorrowful. I felt like the worst sinner. This was a man I had seen for five years! I felt like I was in a way responsible for his death. Joshua gave me 50,000 Naira and the permission to discuss funeral arrangements with my family. I did and returned to Accra to prepare for the funeral.

He gave me a bus and one other member to accompany me to my father`s funeral. Meanwhile, I had a congregation of over 2,000 members in Accra and not a single member knew I came home to bury my father. I am the first born of seven children. I have a brother who is a PH.D holder. I have a sister who is a vice-Principal of a school in Ibadan.

Another sister is a Police Officer, and the last born studied Agronomy at the University of Ibadan. Every one of them shunned me at the funeral. I was left to myself. My mother went inside, broke down and wept. Later she sent for me and told me the reason they all ignored me.

According to her, five days before my father passed on, he insisted on speaking with me. But because none of them had my telephone number they could not reach me. Eventually, my father persuaded my siblings to take him to The Synagogue to meet with Joshua. He was sure that through Joshua a call would be placed to me.

Unfortunately, when they got to The Synagogue they were left at the gate unattended to for two hours. They sent for my former wife and briefed her. She went inside to return two hours later to tell them that the Prophet was not available to see them. They had to return home. The next day, my father passed on. That was why my siblings shunned me. Right there I made up my mind to leave The Synagogue. I told myself it was time to leave!

PoliticsOkotie Joins Presidential Race by matoyeh(op): 4:16pm On Aug 14, 2010
Lagos-based pastor, and chairman of the Fresh Democratic Party, Chris Okotie, has indicated that he will run for president in next year's general elections.

Mr Okotie, who has contested the seat twice, said the least the federal government can do to immortalize the sacrifices of the late Moshood Abiola is to enthrone true democracy in the country. He also claimed that the PDP-led federal government is a product of rigging, and could therefore not celebrate the heroes of democracy, who fought for free and fair elections.

The pastor, in a statement signed by his media aide, Ladi Ayodeji, decried the neglect of those who died protesting the cancellation of the June 12, 1993 elections, saying all efforts to ignore their achievement in giving birth to the 4th republic have not succeeded.

The spirit of June 12

"Instead, the spirit of June 12 continues to haunt us", he said. "The democracy martyrs of June 12, led by its flag bearer, MKO Abiola, who won what is still adjusted the best election ever organized in this country, would have died in vain if we fail to put in place viable mechanisms for free and fair elections in the country. One of these is electoral reform, and also transparency and good governance. We can't have true democracy if the peoples votes do not count; where selection instead of election is what produces the leaders."

SportsSiasia To Be Best Paid Coach by matoyeh(op): 3:42pm On Aug 14, 2010

Samson Siasia is most likely to become the highest paid indigenous coach in Nigeria after a top official informed MTNFootball.com the former international could eventually pocket a salary of around $35,000 (about five million naira) a month.

The board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) initially offered Siasia a salary of two million naira (about $14,000) before it was increased to three million naira.

Siasia himself had first asked for a monthly pay of $100,000 (about 15 million naira), before he lowered his expectations to 12 million naira.

However, a top NFF official told MTNFootball.com that the middle ground of this negotiation would be around five million naira.

"I believe if the money is jerked up to at least five million naira, Siasia would consider it with a little more pressure. Even with that five million, I still believe the amount is small," hinted the official, who was part of Wednesday's board meeting.

This amount is more than double what Shuaibu Amodu was paid when he was in charge of the Super Eagles between April 2008 and February 2010.

Siasia will therefore become the best paid local coach in Nigeria ever, even though this figure is still far off the $50,000-a-month the German Berti Vogts received two years ago.

Both Lars Lagerback and Vogts' contracts were financed outside the NFF by sponsors and the Presidential Task Force (PTF).

The NFF board have now set up a three-man negotiating team to reach an agreement with Siasia.

3 Bible Tips: Forgiving
1. Jesus Christ explained that if we won't forgive others, God won't forgive us.

"'And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors… For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses'" (Matthew 6:12, 14-15).

2. How often should we forgive? Lots and lots.

Is it enough to forgive seven times? No!

"Then Peter came to Him and said, ''Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven'" (Matthew 18:21-22).

3. Though we expect more of our Christian brothers and sister, we must not forget to forgive them when they let us down.

"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32).
