Ayodejii54: Hey Good People Of NL... Hope our day is going great... Well I hope it is at the end of the day... Please I'm quite confused on what phone to get within the budget range of 200-245k....Specs of 4gb ram/64gb rom or more, Android 8, Nice processor like good Snapdragon chips... Nice Camera, And yeah, Sleeky Design. I don't want to make a wrong decision and won't enjoy the phone up to a year... Thanks in Anticipation.. Go for Mi Mix 3 bro, 8gb Ram, 256gb Rom, SD 845 among other amazing features, and a sliding camera as well. Its around 207k on aliexpress |

I keep seeing 10.0.4.0 version from most people that got the MIUI update, but mine here is 10.0.5.0
Why is that? Or is it because I use a Chinese variant?

Gptech: Maybe you meant shop/fake roms. Almost every rom flashed by sellers are genuine roms, and such phones won't have any issue. The very few times sellers will flash fake roms will be due to the unavailability of official roms or lack of Global roms. Let's take a little drift. I got a Mi Max 3 Chinese Version some weeks back with a controversial Global rom installed by the seller (miui 9.6.4.0). If you check, online, till date, there's still controversy whether this rom is genuine, fake, or in between. In fact some moderators on miui forum declared it as fake and warned of the potential of bricking your device if you attempt to flash the official rom on it. They even claimed the rom won't get OTA. That rom has issues with modems / network, plus lagging issues. Some early buyers already attempted tweaking their devices, some rooted, unlocked bootloader, re locked bootloader, flashed eu roms, flashed China dev roms, and some got their devices bricked during the process. To cut a long story short, after reading through the 59 pages of the thread, I was convinced that the rom is not fake afterall mainly because I got a miui 10 OTA update on the device after connecting to WiFi ( note that some fake roms also get OTA updates, the Redmi 5 plus comes to mind). Device is currently running miui 10 Global Stable rom. Thanks for the clarification boss, i get it |

Gptech: How is this even possible? Well it only happens if you flash the so called "global roms" on a Chinese ROM.... and by so called "global ROM", I mean those ROMS aliexpress sellers put on Chinese version phones. Maybe I wasn't clear enough with my first comment |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Maxcoded: 11:15am On Nov 19, 2018 |
lanre316: No sir. I prefer the Chinese phone with global rom installed. I just want to be assured that updates will not brick my phone, based on some things I heard about Xiaomi trying to discourage global rom installation on Chinese phones.
I actually don't care whether bootloader is locked or unlocked. I just want a phone that won't brick when updating.
Thanks. I have heard stories of the so called global ROM installed on Chinese version phones having OTA update feature missing after flashing, plus the possibility of the phone been bricked |

flexerking: it has miui 10 custom rom though How many would now want to go through that stress on flashing custom ROM upandan Most don't even know how to do that; including myself It looks tiring to me and if you are not careful, you will end up bricking your phone in the end |

Android 6.0 when we already have Android 9.0 But the fact is that; an average user won't care much about OS upgrade. Just have nice camera and don't hang; that's what they want |

HungerMustGo: They dump SD card slots for no other reason other than that Apple phones don't have SD cards.
They all mugu-lishly copy every dumb creation of apple whether its useful or not.
From the annoying pin ejector sim tray to non removeable battery to notch design and now no SD card. Very soon it'll be compulsory single sim. You are totally wrong bruh... Apple ain't the first to get the notch, but you can say they are the ones that made it popular. Don't say what you don't know please |

Telvin7: xiaomi is just producing phones every month with same specs and body ..........(.abeg make I nor talk too much b4 all this xiaomi gangs go attack me) But for me ,I choose the honor 8x coz it got that premium finnish and chin is much better.......... Gaming is much better on the kirin710............. Camera ?
Updated::::: camera is damn good on the honor 8x
Nav gestures is not smooth on the redmi note 6 pro but maybe an update may fix it.... Y'all keep talking and complaining about the chin on Xiaomi devices or perhaps Android devices with a Chin. If the Android OEM does this and then put a price tag of around $1000 on the phone, will you all buy it? You people will still be the one still saying "na Android we dey, dem supose reduce the price". Reduce the price so they can lose and not profit? Hell NO; this is business IPhone devices does have their own problems too and most of them hardly complains like we Android users. If you want the chin removed, go spend your cash on iPhone devices and leave us alone abeg |

henry007: Thanks
Do you have any link or known location where they charged 10K?
Anyone that you or someone else has used before.
This guy paid 90K for the last iPhone and they didn't find it. A friend of mine once used them and the phone was revered. He paid 10k I think that was around Niger State or so |

You do know that NIPOST do not do real time notification eh? One of my item also got to Lagos yesterday, they now work on Saturdays and this is the second time my items have been processed on Saturday. Grandmufti you remember that CRA item abi? I guess that's a good initiative then... They are improving small small |

fibonacci2526: Yes, looks like NIPOST now work on Saturdays. Impressive. I doubt, the time and date stamp was cached, not the exact time it was processed. They might have processed it on Friday then 17track caches it on Saturday. You can see the time is around 7am |

dasphinx1: Since you are in the know, as regards vendor roms, you ought to have pointed that aspect out in your initial post.
In your friend's case, he should have specifically told the seller to send his device sealed and unopened. Or better still, purchase /order from any of our touts here.( i actually recommend this option though). He wouldn't have had that brick issue. Trust me. Peeps are using Redmi 6pro here without issues na, with default chinese rom sef. Somebody like me is over enjoying my 6 pro, Chinese ROM though |
