Even for N1bn, I won’t
Solomon Matthew

One truth that I have come to realise in life is that
money doesn’t solve problems. Ideas and the
application of one’s creativity are the solutions to
man’s problems. Why would I give my wife to another
man to sleep with because of money? I cannot do it.
No matter how poor I am, I cannot do it – even for
N1bn. Those who can do such a thing can as well do
anything evil to make money. As for me, it is better to
die poor as an upright man than die rich as an
unscrupulous one.

I’ll not allow it
Nwachukwu Bella

My husband is like gold that I cherish so much and I
won’t let a ‘baby mama’ somewhere do that to him. I
believe it’s only when a woman does not make her
husband feel loved that the man will go outside. When
there is true love, money doesn’t dictate how couples
react to situations. It’s an ungodly act. I can’t let my
spouse sleep secretly with another woman for money
not to talk of in my very presence. I will just commit
suicide, or let’s say that’s an exaggeration, I will
simply quit the marriage. Any man that chooses
money over a woman’s love is not worthy of living
with.

It’s slavery mentality
Oyelade Eyitayo

That idea is sickening and it can never occur to me.
That’s like selling my wife. It is a slavery mentality.
Anything you sell and then get back again would have
lost its value. To be sincere, I can never love my life
like I used to if that should happen. Perhaps we need
someone’s help and he asked for my wife to sleep with
him, to hell with his money. I would rather die than
subject my wife to such a thing. But if she wants to do
it, she can, but she should know that that is the end of
our marriage.

It’s shameful
Timi Sumbiri

This is not only a disgusting act, but it tells of the loss
of virtue among some people. Why should you ask
another woman’s husband to sleep with you before you
can offer any form of help? I will not let my husband
do it; he dare not even think of it. But wait a minute,
what if the woman is not asking to do it in my
presence and my husband doesn’t even tell me? It’s a
complicated issue, but I just pray one will not fall into
that kind of temptation.

I can’t do it
Taiwo Olufemi

No matter the situation I’m in, I cannot do it. Any man
that wants to do such a thing to my wife is evil. It’s
lack of moral values that would make a man request
for such. Even for the wealth and riches of the whole
world, I will never let my wife do such. I even trust her,
she is not a cheap woman and I am also not a cheap
man. You know it’s in situations like that that your
brain starts booting of ideas. We are going to find out
what to do to get out of that situation and hopefully, if
we work hard, we are going to make it too. Only
desperation and worthlessness will make people fall
for that kind of money.

Money isn’t my lord
Oloruntomi Adeleke

I don’t need such money. The things that men do to
have money at times make me wonder whether they
don’t have conscience. How could you want to sleep
with my husband because we probably need a favour
from you? That’s an insult on my husband and me. I’ll
encourage my husband to let us keep working hard
and think smartly so that we can make our own money
without having to be insulted by one ‘sugar mummy’
out there. Moreover, anyone that wants such a thing
from another person’s spouse is perhaps a ritualist.

I can’t sell my wife
Tobi Goke

That’s like going into bondage with my eyes wide
open. It is definitely not possible. I like money and I
think everybody does, but to go to an extent of letting
another man have sex with my wife in my presence is
what I can never do. I will never sell my wife.
Whatever we need the money for will have to wait
until we find someone who will genuinely help us. If
such help never comes, it’s all good. We cannot allow
a mere man steal our home because of money.

It can never happen
Oluwadara Akinbola

Even without my husband, I can make much more
money than that if I put my potentials to use let alone
when both of us put our heads together. Seriously,
only lazy and desperate folks would fall for that kind
of temptation. Men are tempted out of their own
inordinate desires. Maybe that kind of request will
propel me to think and work harder, who knows? But
to let another woman sleep with my ‘own body’ (my
husband) is something that can never happen.

Only if our marriage is money-oriented
Biebele Kiakubu

I will do it if our marriage is only money-oriented in the
first place. You know it happens. A couple could marry
each other to further their career or business
ambitions, not necessarily because they love each
other. I have seen many cases like that. Likewise, if I
have a wife who is interested in the deal, I will let her
do it. We’ll both share the money. However, if I have a
real wife, someone I truly love, I can kill a man who
wants to sleep with her for money because that’s even
a bigger sin than adultery.

Let him decide
Rhodaline Mieseigha

The decision to sleep with another woman because of
money is mainly that of my husband. Of course, I am
not saying I am going to agree or disagree, but you
can never predict or tell what a man should do. My
husband has his own conscience; if it pleases him to
do it, there is nothing I can do stop him. We’ve all
heard about men that carry women to their
matrimonial rooms, so what does that say? But one
thing is, if it ever happens, it means I’ll kiss my
husband goodbye.

Some days back I called on someone to get me a recharge voucher as QuickTeller failed to top up my device even after deducting my cash.
However I needed to renew one of my subscription service, so i had to buzz someone to get me a physical card.
She sent me the code via an SMS and to my surprise it was a 16digits code.
I was confused and concluded this is some Airtel card mistaken for MTN. (Since Airtel has 16digits pin)
So I called her up and told her she sent me a wrong card, but she insisted it was an MTN card.
I proceeded in topping up my device with it, but didn't go through, perhaps the doubt made me miss a digit or 2 while typing.
So I called her up again and told her it wasn't going through and I needed another card, "this time a 12 digits please"
But to my surprise I got a transfer of the said amount not quite long from her. She told me she loaded the card and transferred to me.
A little bit skeptical at the time and never bothered, until I saw a post from MTN:

Thanking God I wasn't too forward speaking to her about unrealistic the scenario was, because no news outlet posted about the update till now and just had to post it so others can be aware of this and not to go saying someone gave them a fake card.
By the way, Here are some reactions from users, putting in mind the stress it takes to type a 12 digits voucher code, talkless of a 16digits pin.

Business › Re: New Fraud In Town! Samarium Care. Please Beware Of These Guys by Maximus85(m): 2:16pm On Jul 02, 2015
oakwoodpark:
Good morning. My name is Emmanuel and i work with an engineering Firm in Ikeja. At about 8 o clock this morning on my way to work i received a call from this number 07081930137 from a guy who simply identified himself as Engineer Emma. On asking if we've met, he started explaining that we met at a friend'd wedding some saturdays ago and even mentioned my friend's name. Since i wasnt suspecting anything, i apologised for not remembering him. He asked me if i was still in lagos and i answered in affirmative. He said he was in Abuja and that he Would be coming to lagos soon. He proceeded to tell me that he had this engineering job that he would need my assistance on but because the noise was much were i was on the road, i told him i'd call him back once i get to my workplace.
On getting to the office, i picked up my phone and called back. He then said he worked with NNPC and that they were using Samarium Petroleum care to block leaked pipeline vandalized by the Niger Delta militants. He said His Boss Hon. Usman Bello would like to come to lagos to buy the products himself as their supplier had defaulted. But the Boss doesn't know the Location of the company that imports the product in Lagos. Now, he said he wants to give the boss my details as a dealer in that product. so all i had to do was meet his boss(Hon Usman Bello) at the airport and conclude discussions with him. But first, i had to buy one gallon of the product as a sample that i will show to Hon. Bello. It was at this point that i sensed fraud. He sent me the address of the major importers in lagos and sent me their phone number. Here is the address of the so called major Importers of Samarium Petroleum Care

GLOBAL NIGERIA LIMITED
km 42 agbara ind est
07066891944
MARKETING MANAGER --Mr. John Olaiya

He reiterated that the Honorable would be buying 50 gallons from me at the rate of =N=310,000 and that i would be buying from the company at =N=240,000.
so we are to split the profit.
After saying this,i hung up as i have had enough and needed to face the day's work. He called back and i confronted him. I asked him to give me the exact details of how we met at my friend's wedding but he just kept talking trash. I hardly forget faces of people i meet even if i dont see them in a long while, so i knew for sure that i had not met this guy. I called up a few friends and they confirmed that this was the new scam in Town.
As you can see, please beware and dont fall into this kind of trap. It is obvious that these guys keep coming up with different kinds of formats and concepts to rip us off. Spread the word! Thank you for Reading
MODERATOR! FIRST PAGE PLS!!!
They've used something similar on me before. They said I'm to print on gift items for 50th anniversary of NNPC. And I'm a printer. They later added floor tiles cleaning chemical. Agbara was mentioned also and an aboki boss.

What I suspect is that they get info about people from social media and through your business adverts. That's how they'll know your name and profession. For them to talk about meeting op at a wedding, op might have posted something like that on his Facebook wall.

We need to be careful how we use these social media.

I'm very exhausted so I will like to go straight to the point. I got to Ketu bus stop yesterday morning to meet a commotion, I initially thought it was an accident but as I got closer, I saw it was a jubilation.

Stella, people said that as a pastor was passing through and saw the mad man (popular in that area), he came down and walked to the mad man and wanted to pray for him but the madman charged at him.

He continued wrestling with this man while praying, shockingly, the man regained his senses and pastor prayed for him. He was even saying Amen to the prayers, pure water was brought and was used to wash his head then someone brought a change of clothes for him.

If I had not seen this mad man before, I would have said it was staged but yesterday I confirmed miracles do exist''.

Politics › Re: INEC: As Jega Bows Out Today by Maximus85(m): 10:20am On Jun 30, 2015
papoose999:
AFTER five years in the saddle as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega bows out today. Not a few would regard his tenure as remarkable; indeed it was, as the outcome of the 2015 general election was largely a true reflection of the will of the electorate. For the first time in our electoral annals, a ruling party – the Peoples Democratic Party – was ousted from power by the opposition All Progressives Congress. Truly, in the pantheon of public service heroes, Jega has an assured place.no

The radical swop in the country’s political evolution from this year’s polls came on the heels of previous parodies. Votes were simply allocated to candidates in the 1999, 2003 and 2007 elections, with that of 2007 grabbing the notorious distinction of the biggest electoral fraud globally, from international election observers.

Jega first captured public imagination in the early 1990s during the military regime of the dictator, Ibrahim Babangida, when he was the president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities. The union fought that fiendish regime to a standstill as Jega resisted all overtures to compromise the struggle. Besides, his membership of the Justice Muhammadu Uwais Electoral Reform Committee that produced a well acclaimed report further opened his eyes to the challenges bedevilling Nigeria’s electoral process.

It was from this milieu that Jega emerged on June 30, 2010 as INEC chairman. A calm and calculating left-of-the-centre intellectual, Jega is also a professor of political science and former vice-chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, who came to that office with a rich pedigree in public service. He was mindful of his reputation at all times.

Although he conducted the 2011 general election, which lacked a patina of credibility in some respects, its rough edges, rather than weigh him down, provided him a vista for reforms, which climaxed in the use of the Permanent Voter Card and Card Reader machines in the March–April 2015 polls. These innovations were hitherto alien to our electoral process. As a game-changer, the card reader improved the integrity of the last elections, with its mechanism to authenticate a voter and match his/her fingerprints with the code on the chip of a card.

However, despite the watershed these two electoral devices inaugurated in Nigeria’s electoral contest, the 2015 general election still had the ills of those before it in terms of poor general preparations. This was evident in the shambolic distribution of PVCs, which began barely three months to the commencement of elections.

INEC offered no reason for that shoddiness. A task it had four years to perform ought not to have been mired in such tackiness. The aberration was almost exploited by anti-democratic elements to sabotage the entire election as they relied on insecurity in the North-East region to demand an adjustment in the election timetable. Thus, the presidential and National Assembly elections earlier billed for February 14 were shifted to March 28, and those of governorship and state assembly to April 11.

“The period of the extension has offered us an opportunity to further perfect the electoral process for the delivery of free, fair, credible and peaceful elections to the satisfaction of the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians,” Jega had said.

As the D-Day came, it was still the same old tune: logistics nightmare emblazoned in lack of vehicles to convey polling officials to their units; late arrival of electoral materials; shortage of materials and poorly-trained ad hoc staff. In some areas, accreditation of voters could not begin by 1 pm, whereas the official time for voting to start was 1.30 pm.

But for the generators volunteered by some public-spirited voters, to illuminate polling centres in some cases where voting went far into the night, the situation would have been irredeemable for the electoral body. In fact, the shortage of materials forced INEC to postpone the House of Representatives election in the entire Jigawa State and two federal constituencies of Ethiope-East and Ethiope-West, in Delta State.

Now, with Jega gone, with almost all the electoral commissioners, leaving INEC heavily denuded of its statutory personnel, rejuvenating the body is a duty the Muhammadu Buhari government should not take lightly. As a matter of fact, we should not be blinkered by INEC’s outing in 2015; there is still room for improvement. If anything, the last election should serve as a stepping stone to a slew of electoral reforms and institutional consolidation required before the 2019 general election.

Indeed, strengthening our democracy will come to naught if electoral reforms are not deepened. This is why the use of card reader and PVCs should be included in the Electoral Act. Such irreducible minimum guarantee of integrity will put chronic election riggers, who fought tenaciously against the adoption of these devices, in check.

Who succeeds Jega is a critical matter. To avoid the problems of the past when some INEC chairs and State Resident Electoral Commissioners could not rise above partisanship in doing their jobs, or were paid agents of the ruling political party, a broad-based approach that recommends their appointments to public scrutiny has become imperative. Integrity or character of the appointees is of essence here.

For making Nigeria to join the rest of the democratic world by ensuring that the 2015 polls were credible, Attahiru Jega deserves our gratitude.

Good evening good people of Nairaland. I was the person who shared my 3rd class experience on Nairaland. These are the steps to apply for Post Graduate Diploma (P.Gd)!!!

First of all look for any University in Nigeria that are selling their post graduate form.
Then after that go to the particular University that you graduated from and apply for your transcript. Then within 3weeks the transcript will be posted to the University you wish to do your Pgd. Note : transcript will not be given by hand it would be posted to the University of choice.

Make sure the deadline for the closing date of sales of form is still very far before u go and apply for your transcript. And above all when you must av applied and you are giving the admission you try to make up to the cut off for you to proceed to do your M.Sc immediately.
Like in my school where I am doing my P.Gd the cut off is 60%. I really appreciate the encouragement I got from Nairalanders.

I received over 250bbm invites from Nairalanders today over this 3rd class issue. I tried my best to attend to all of them. That's why I decided to post this here so everyone can view it. All my hands are paining me for responding to bbm messages since morning till dis evening over this issue. Thank you all for the love.
If you finished from lasu, then you are a dead meat cos it will take then 10years to forward your transcript if ever they do. The most useless glorified secondary school ever.

Its even more disturbing that some so called educated folks still believe and propagate this insanity!
The latest and also one of the most surprising i've heard was a Phd holder explaining to us in class how it was impossible for the witches in his village to follow him to the UK where he went to study...can't remember the reason he gave cos I was consumed by my anger, but I overheard him saying something about the witches not being able to fly pass the atlantic ocean.
It will take decades before we can purge our self of this superstition.
Hmmm! I was teaching in a primary school and on a certain Monday there was an argument between three primary 4 girls.
