You ascend spiritually every time the intention of love and bestowal (altruistic desire) prevail over the egoistic desire.
And whenever the egoistic desire wins, you descend spiritually.
This is the totality of our spiritual work in the corporeal world.

The whole bible from genesis to revelation talks about 3 themes:
1. The goal of creation.
2. The human egoistic nature.
3. The method of correction of the egoistic desire with the intention of love and bestowal.
This is like a summary of the entire bible. In Bible Interpretation, it is the foundation knowledge.
