Finally Jesus got the clear picture of the spirit that is now talking to him so he responded:

“Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”

Now answer your own question:

At such a moment is Jesus following instructions or using his brain to discern the difference between the two spirits that had been talking to him?

Remember both spoke to him one immediately after the other.

Nations have been existing like that for thousands of years without issues until religions came to try and bind them together by force. It is just like saying unity will not be possible unless we speak the same language. Issues started arising when Christianity became a thing. Before then no issues for the millennia of existence. Traditional spiritualities are the same thing expressed in different forms. There is a supreme deity and lesser deities and our ancestors in heaven help us. It is the same all over. Then they all have divination in different levels of advancement

Protestants think they're not distracted by unnecessary practices of the catholic, and don't do superficial Christianity like the Pentecostals. JWs think everyone else don't understand the Bible. All these denominations think if you have a different opinion from their teachings, you've "turned the Bible upside down". But one thing you haven't noticed in the lives of all these religionists claiming Christians: They can never ever agree on how the work Jesus assigned to his disciples should be carried out.

That's the only reason they are against JWs!

Satan knew that if people should come to their senses and think of how to do the work Jesus assigned to his disciples billions will be saved so Satan keeps on promoting EMOTIONAL ISOLATION which makes each churchgoer feels there is no need working with their fellow worshipers unlike the way Jesus established Christianity where they must all work together as ONE! Today the one and only group that is working together towards achieving what Jesus promised is JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES all others are just deceiving themselves.

Jesus never said he was a brainless robot, that's the JW interpretation of his ministry. The scriptures teach that he was filled with wisdom.

According to Jesus he has no wisdom it's because of his godly fear that made him wise:
