Obeisance means taking instructions from someone so it has to do with the readiness to obey such a person.

Worship means rendering sacred service to someone.

No human society is raised as atheists the idea came when people couldn't find answers to life's big questions like:

*How did life begin?
*Why are we here?
*Why do innocent people suffer?
*What happens when a person dies?
*If everyone wants peace, why is there so much war?
*What will happen to the earth in the future?

Mankind since thousands of years have searched for God and since they can't find him anxious individuals out of frustration concluded there is no God!

But what wise step did the Bible give us to follow in order to get answers to these questions?

My son, if you accept my sayings And treasure up my commandments, By making your ear attentive to wisdom And inclining your heart to discernment;  Moreover, if you call out for understanding And raise your voice for discernment;  If you keep seeking for it as for silver, And you keep searching for it as for hidden treasures;  Then you will understand the fear of Jehovah, And you will find the knowledge of God. From the above scripture the advice we got says there is no knowledge in trying to figure out things all by yourself rather you should speak to as many as possible regarding what you want to know about God! Matthew 7:7-8

WHY?

Because God will not open the sky and start talking to each and everyone to prove anything rather He will send out His faithful servants to enlighten others.

The funny thing about atheists is that this guys won't take their time to make research by humbly asking questions instead they just read books written by men like themselves and the next thing is trying to convince others that there is no God.

Why not use the same tactics when you are searching for God?

There are two types of prayers:

Public or general this involves the one offering a prayer and others inclusive in the request made before God. 1Kings 8:22-30; John 17:20-22

Personal or private this involves only the one praying as he is alone while talking to God. Matthew 6:5-8

How does the public prayers work back then in ancient Israel among the people of God and among Christians in the first century?

That should be the focus but saying that prayers are unnecessary is the height of faithlessness! Hebrews 11:6 🙂

Christians do meet in houses of fellow believers where interested individuals are invited so whatever they say in such a place has been made public!

Note that the Pharisees were searching for Christians to arrest and execute them so what made it difficult for these people is that Christians don't speak in their streets therefore they sent out spies to disguise as interested persons in order to arrest the Christians.

The way Christians were organized back then makes it really difficult for Pharisees to get them arrested unlike these two noisemakers in the street of Ikeja publicly cursing each other yet claiming they are both for Jesus!😟

Jesus went to preach and teach in the house of Zacchaeus.

In Jesus' day it was Romans that are ruling Israel so it's unlawful for anyone to make noise in their streets that's why John the last prophet who is to prepare the way for Jesus had to go shouting not in their streets but in the wilderness! Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4; John 1:23 compare to Isaiah 40:3

So when Jesus began his ministry he has to go and meet people PRIVATELY in their homes that's what he commanded his disciples to do too! Matthew 10:11-13

The idea of shouting indiscriminately at passersby is unlawful back then and today but because we are living in a country where all sorts of nonsense is practiced in the name of God that's why you guy don't know the truth about Jesus and his ministry otherwise many like that girl will be arrested for disturbing the public with noise something Jesus will never ever do!
