Apparently Nigeria need the forex to bring down inflation so they’d rather sell abroad and bring in the forex into government than sell to Dangote who will pay in local currency. Also there’s the complication that some of the future barrels are being amortised (sold) in advance against loans been taken today, which is horrible idea.
In summary Dangote as a business man is looking at plan b, c to get his crude. What does this mean for the average Nigerian? Most likely that Dangote may not sell to the Nigerian market, so no hope of supply issues easing or fuel price coming down.
He will start suppling Benin, Ghana, Togo etc at market price. If Nigerians hear what that market price is, there may be a riot. So I think he’ll just use the refinery as a regional supply base for Africa.

Any time I see Fubara, I realise how God uses the foolish things of this world to confound those who think they are wise.

But if you understand how things work in naija, you will know that that company is most likely just a briefcase company with no staff, no physical office. All those ones of divesting interest is all cock and bull story, or at best paper work. That man fully owns the company, controls the accounts or at most uses a proxy.
I knew someone some time back, his oga was a special adviser during the past administration in one of the SW states. All his money, was placed in the accounts of this my guy ie my guys registered on paper company. All his property in Nigeria, under my guys name. In just 1 account back then, there was excess of 1.5b! Just 1 account, this was 2-3 years ago.

BVN, Nin has made corruption fight in Nigeria pretty easy,particularly for civil service payroll,but it's just the will power that is lacking because the person fighting the corruption may also be indulged in it or is a major beneficiary.
With bvn,you would know the account balance of all civil servants,make a comparison to that person's publicly known salary,then compare to it and to assets.Even if a civil decides to use family members to hide funds,it's still easy to trace;a child cannot have 100m in the account or a full-time housewife 200m or cousins with humongous sums hidden.

A whole university in the capital generating $1.4M a year. There lies the problem; on the flip side, a departments budget or grants alone in a low grade western university will generate 10x that.
Nigerian universities really need to step up, a lot of redundant departments should be closed down to focus on STEM.
