Wow nice! Our leaders are ever ready to clinch to power for the next 30 years. Either they are active politically or passive(doing underground work for any candidate of their choice). The truth is, even if we let youths take top positions in government there would be an old bully trying to make the individual do his bidding.
Culture / Re: BROKIN; The Nigerian Pidgin History And Origin. by mayberry1(f): 11:34am On Oct 22, 2017
For record purpose, 'Broken' is different from 'Pidgin'. Broken English has to do with poor use of English language(either spoken or written) the type that the individual struggles to speak fluently and correctly with so much grammatical errors; while Nigerian Pidgin is peculiar to us as a nation more like our Lingua Franca, the speaker doesn't try to speak correct grammar.

The rate at which drugs are being consumed is so alarming. The funny thing is after taking drugs they become very gentle and quiet for hours, like how do people take things that would slow them down lipsrsealed. I give it to Malo guys they can take anything on the surface of the earth to get high cheesy.
Crime / Re: Graphic Photos/video: Police Shoot Man With Bags Of Weed To Death In Anambra by mayberry1(f): 10:53am On Oct 22, 2017
The rate at which security officials are quick to shoot is quite worrisome. They all need anger management classes. What happened to arresting him and getting more information, cause for the fact that he tried resisting search means there's more to whatever he was hiding.
Celebrities / Re: Why We Dumped Tagbo Umeike's Body - Davido's Men Confess by mayberry1(f): 2:41pm On Oct 21, 2017
Finally. I sense negligence in the whole thing, from the guy been super drunk and forming 'I'm fine', to his friends taking forever before getting him medical help.
Guys should watch it when it comes to drinking, you being a heavy drinker adds nothing to your account. The rich don't even drink as much as an average Nigerian does(even if they do, they have drugs they take to calm the effect)

Oh goodness! Seems like being single is a taboo in this part of the world. I don't get why people push young girls to get married before 30, to me the best time to build your career(and build yourself) is in your 20's, so that when you get married and take a break for childbirth, bouncing back won't be cumbersome.

slawomir:
it is possible the nurse is not at fault. maybe the body of the little child didn't react well with that injection
just like the ridges of human finger print is different for each person on planet earth so also our body are all different
like me if I take injection especially chloroquin injection then I will start sleeping instantly and the upper and lower jaw of my face( maxila and mandible) will start paining me.
if I enter a car that uses fuel then I start vomiting instantly
our body reacts differently no need to blame the nurse immediately. proper investigation should be carried out

and for those quoting me to say which car do I use? weather the one that uses electricity or water
I was not expecting such questions from nurses and doctors in this forum because they are already aware of what I meant.
but for those that are not doctors or nurse, this is it
a moving car causes the otholits( the organs in the human ear for gravity, linear acceleration and speed) to cause dizziness. as the car moves the otholiths continue to rotate.
because my own otoliths has a poorer ability to sense motion, stop and movement of cars. I begin to feel dizzy, then the fuel from the car reacts instantly and I throw up or vomit.
I feel a little bit comfortable only if the car is in a very high speed. constant speed. straight motion and all the windows of the car is opened.
that is why I also don't enter a vulciperator!

The WHO/Ministry of Health has advised Nigerians to stop using chloroquine injection to treat malaria.
Education / Re: Friends Pour Water On Graduate And His Mother At UNILAG Convocation (Pics) by mayberry1(f): 6:51am On Jan 26, 2017
Ladies, be wary of 'some guys' who are too attached to their mothers, cause their mothers can't live with the fact that they're gonna get married someday and build a home. I've seen mothers like that who want to make decision even in the son's new home, always authoritative and commanding to the new wife(a friend's mother-in-law would always call to ask if belle don enter, or to find out the latest happening in her home, better still cry to the son that the wife has made him abandon her thereby putting unnecessary pressure and causing unrest in the family). Whereas the guy wouldn't want to hurt the mum and the wife, so he let's the wife suffer, while crawling inside his shell. Some mother in-laws forget that we have parents(who have son's too), that don't interfere in their children's affairs.

CAVEAT: To all those who wanna bash me, won't be here to reply you, so save it.

The only way to test a Virgin is to arrange sand and tell he to urinate on top. If the urine dey pierce the sand and coming out in strong straight line, she is confirmed. If on the other hand her urine is scattering everywhere on the sand and oozing lazily, then you know she has been drilled.

You are a bush man.
Events / Re: 16-year-old Emerges ‘miss Virginity’ In Lagos (photo) by mayberry1(f): 1:10pm On Jan 15, 2017
noetic5:
Dolapo Makunjuola was on Saturday, crowned the “Queen of the Virgins” at the 2017 Miss Virginity beauty pageant held inside the headquarters of Surulere LGA of Lagos. She emerged winner out of 35 contestants. .

An excited Makunjuola said she intends being a virgin until she's ripe for marriage. No gynaecological test was conducted to ascertain their virginity, each of them only answered questions mostly on current affairs.

Adunni Adediran, the organiser, said the contest was an avenue to propagate the importance of women keeping their virginity till their wedding night. .

She said she was “called to order” by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, forcing her to stop the practice of bringing a gynaecologist to confirm the virginity of prospective contestants.

"We used to have a gynecologist who examines the girls before the event, but the ministry of education invited me and told me they disliked the attitude of a man looking at the girls privacy and I was depressed that day.

But was it not better for one man, a federal gynaecologist in a twinkle of an eye, to check if they were virgins or not, than the girls selling themselves from one bed to another bed?" Ms. Adediran said.

One of the contestants, 40-year-old Veronica Nwokedi said she heard about the pageant for virgins last year through her brother’s wife’s friend who is also a virgin.

Whatever happened to female Virgin checkers(gynaecologist). Well, talk is cheap; I pray she remains focused till the end. Pageantry has taken another level in my country, so she would be referred to as 'Queen of Virgins' in Nigeria.

YET THEM GET MOUTH TO TELL US OUR UNIVERSITIES ARE NOT AMONG THE BEST UNIS IN AFRICA AND IN THE 1000 UNIS ON EARTH!!!
TO HE.LL WITH THEIR RANKINGS.

Some years ago, I was a Consultant Engineer to a FG Project at the FCT and other states. Could you believe that the so called Foreign Engineers they brought from Germany, UK, India and China where learning the work from we the Nigerian Engineers?
Then I was even a young Engineer not even COREN-Certified at that time self. Yet those foreigners couldn't know jack more than us that were trained here.

The reason why the so called foreign engineers didn't know jack about the work is because many expatriates that come to Nigeria to work are not university graduates but people that went to college or better still people that learnt skilled work in their country. Hardly will you find a foreigner who's a graduate in Nigeria when there are better opportunities in his country.

Another thread looking to condemn private christian universities.

1. Quality education is not cheap anywhere in the world. Check Harvard, Princeton and similar universities.
2. I believe that the church would have a scholarship scheme for bright students who are members and non-members of the church.
3. Remember, this is a second private university in Lagos.

We can only give them say a ten period before we judge.

To think that you compared this institution with Harvard is really mind boggling, non of the Nigerian universities(private/public), is among first 800 universities in the world, so where does quality education come to play? Our educational system is a serious joke; a system whereby most lecturers find it difficult to do in-depth research, plagiarism is the order of the day. Lecturers still lecture students with 1st and 2nd edition of foreign textbooks, while the 10th edition has already been reviewed and in use. I'm of the opinion that any parent who can effortlessly send his/her ward to a private university should do the child some good by sending him/her to a not so expensive school abroad. About the scholarship scheme; you forget it's equally a business enterprise that's expected to have large profit(turnover).

90% of bloggers in Nigeria blog for the money, no passion whatsoever. 'Intellectual thefts'; plagiarism is the order of the day for them without recourse to acknowledgement, I bet so many don't know what 'libel' is. How about trying to take free online courses on media and ethics before feeding the public with junks or sensational news, rather they would keep crying about low traffic with their poor grammatically written stories. I feel pity for Nigerians overseas who always want to patronize any blog/news site just to be abreast with the happenings in the country.
