Igbouwanile: Abeg can u clarify those ur bolded comments? kinda looks complex to decode. Thanks Since i used the paper route, i submitted my passport at VFS, (due to that i missed my sisters graduation and a good friends wedding - so ill always advice online route if you need your passport), so after i was called for medicals, they usually attach the TRV on the passport which is in Ghana, and post it back to VFS Lagos. So by mentioning post, i was referring to it being sent to VFS Lagos. |

Other reasons: your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, or your future prospects and plans.
BEng Civil Engineering (Water resources engineering option) 2013 GPA: 2.2 NYSC 2014 I've been working as a Project Manager from 2015 till date for a Private firm. Anyways, I have requested for my GCMS file. I'll wait to know what to address. I'll advice you change course to something else....as a project manager a PGD in that is not helpful....you just need either PRINCE 2 or PMP...so look for something that helps improve your flexibility. |

Esughusughu: Hi guys!! Please I need your assistance. I booked Ethiopia airline from Lagos to Toronto with a stop over at Addis Ababa. On getting the itinerary, I saw stop 1- Addis Ababa to Dublin, stop 2 - Dublin to Toronto. There was no layover in Dublin. My question is, do I need an Ireland transit visa for such a trip? (I don't have one). Since I wasn't too clear on the itinerary, I contacted the agency and the service agent didn't seem to understand, then she canceled the already paid booking. If you have an answer, kindly reply, it's urgent. Thanks. OGA....you don't need any visa as long as you're not going past their immigration to leave the airport....even if you leave the plane its fine....As long as youre not attempting to leave the airport....no qualms |

AlexanderGreat: Thanks. I just checked. But there's an 18-hour layover at Heathrow London before they move to Atlanta. When I know I still have another journey to Toronto (and possibly another one to Manitoba after that). Nah...I'll pass lol 18 hour, mine was 5...but then again, it all adds miles to your frequent flyer...so if you're a red or silver member looking for gold...it makes a lot of sense.....but 18 hours??...check again please. |

vcole: Yes I landed with my Nigerian license. It was to expire this October while my husband's had already expired. Both were the frsc biometric licenses. We wrote the knowledge test and passed and then submitted our licenses to obtain the gdl exemption which took 3 weeks after which we took the advanced road test and obtained our class 5 licenses. Hello Madam, does that mean you don't have your Nigerian Licence anymore? |

jnyuwa02: As far as I know, Canada has only biometrics agreements with only the United States to share in their respective database info. This fact is buttressed by the fact that I have never read a GCMS notes where it said someone applied for a UK, Australia, Germany, Newzealand visas, etc, was denied and refused to disclose it. It's always about applying for USA Visa. If I am wrong someone has ever seen on a denial by CIC where it indicated someone applied for another country other than USA visa and refuse to disclose it, therefore misrepresented, let them speak out!! I stand to be corrected.
On the issue of checking social media and Google to check information about someone, sounds to me like what authoritarian China would do, not a totally freedom loving country like Canada. There is no evidence to back up such assertions that CIC goes looking for people on their Facebook account just because they applied for Canada visa. If they do, that is terribly wrong and unfair. How about if a five year old put some scathing and scandalous information about me on the internet that has no basis in any truth?
That said, I was stopped in my tracks when someone here sent me his GCMS notes and the VO indicated that "online presence," had completed and nothing was found! That one scared the BaJesus out of me. I did not know what to make of online presence that they said they had completed. So will be nice if anyone ever had any experience with this so called "online presence," enlighten the house.
I doubt CIC calls friends of people and referees, I have no experience with tnat. Quite to the contrary, What I have seen is people frustrated that CIC denied them visa without calling their employers and referees they provided letters from to CIC and Kept those friends and referees everyday on standby, should CIC call.
My five cents. Oga...brand 24, hootsuite and the baba of them Geo feedia, have been used by the police and army to detect events before they occur and to arraign and arrest people or companies that make use of social media that could cause or escalate violence...most popular case was when it was used for the Boston marathon to capture those involved in the shootings....yes it has brought about concerns over privacy....and there us an ongoing case in canada over it....but to think that the canadian authorities won't use it to easily fish out people who may be pervieved as threats is a total joke. If employers of labour do google searches to know a bit more about prospective employees, thats a cue. When background checks are done.....what exactly do you think they do? This is just my opinion...i could be wrong, but i dont see any reason why they wouldnt use the internet to their advantage. |

Officialcomo: Waiting for the gurus to discuss this. Of course social media is looked into, what else will background check be based upon....they leverage thhe internet, use their tools and sometimes even make one or two contacts for test of your character ( they contacted a friend of my friend about her). So apart from looking into the records of other countries, they definitely go and see things like your posts by using softwares (some are free online) to see what your posts have been on all social media..facebook twitter instagram pintrest and the rest.....dont worry whatsapp isnt involved...so all your nasty chats are safe |

Frankrobbn1: Please be advised that it is compulsory for paper route applicants to submit their passport, because once your application is approved, a letter of introduction will be attached with your passport and sent back to you.
√√ Also be guided that those that cic requested their passport after their application most have been processed are online applicants and this happens when there is a positive outcome on your application... i.e APPROVAL.
Since, you might make use of your passport during your application process, i'll advice you for online route then.
I hope this information helps.
cheers! well i have a friend who pleaded with the VFS officers, and they let him scan all the pages of his passport and pay for courier, so that as soon as passport is requested it can be couriered to the embassy. i doubt they allow this all the time, but it can be a last resort. |

AugustChild: Tank you sir, well I am not going to any of them but I paid half fees to my college. kindly assist me and also I have received my gcms note which reads: please it's long sha o but be patient to read :

Attending college. Limited recent travel history on file to demonstrate a pattern of having traveled and returned to their home country. The applicant has provided a study plan that poorly explains why they would like to take this course at this point in their life and what benefit they expect to get from it. It is often vague and lacking in concrete details that would make it convincing. It also contains errors that suggest the applicant is not ready for their intended course of education. Overall, the plan isn't reasonable given their stated intentions, age, as well as academic and professional history. After considering the applicants academic and professional history as well as their planned studies and explanation provided for it. I am not satisfied that the applicant is applying in good faith. The stated benefits of their intended studies do not seem to warrant the cost and difficulty of undertaking foreign education. I am therefore not satisfied that the applicant will leave Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay as required by R216(b). Costs to be borne by a 3rd party. Applicant has not demonstrated to their guarantor, I'm not satisfied of the permanence of their financial commitment and that the applicant has the funds to pay for their studies in Canada. I'm not satisfied that the applicant has demonstrated enough funds to pay for their studies and stay in canada. As a result, I shall not issue a study permit to the applicant as required by R220. Applicant's declared employment and evidence for it don't constitute a significant tie to their home country, especially because they are willing and able to leave it for the duration of studies. In addition, given the applicant's weaker employment history and the troubled economic conditions in their home country, I am not satisfied that they have significant employment prospects to compel their return from Canada at the end of their studies. Client has demonstrated limited assets or property to tie them to home country. After examining the applicant's family, financial, and professional ties, I'm not satisfied that those related to the clients country of residence are sufficient to compel their return at the end of the period authorized for their stay in canada as required by R216(b). I'm not satisfied that the applicant meets the legislative requirements to be issued a study permit. Study permit refused.

Nobody should take just what we see or read here as the best answer but should make more findings or ask more questions. Google too can always solve or enlighten the case at hand. I understand, i'm just curious as to what VO's state when giving approvals |

But as for gcsm file, it's a file containing the report and view of the VO in charge of your application and all what your submitted application entails.
Here is a link to it and the below link is exactly what you will see on page 0 of this thread. Pls dont forget to visit Page 0 for more understanding of Canadian Visa Application.

ananaosei: Mighty men! Greetings and Salut)) I checked the visa officer requirements for applicants applying from Estonia and there is nothing like SOP, meaning they do not require that from applicants from Estonia.
My question is will it affect me if I ditch or leave it out? Am working and studying with a lot of stuff on me and I might not be able to write it due to time factor.
Thank you for your kind assistance. SOP is only required if there is a particular issue in your application you "feel" it is important that needs clarification or explanations. |

Arebo: LONG POST ALERT!!!!
Good day people, I am not the type that jumps into conclusion, but rather will hear from the horse's mouth, ok! It's about people complaining about ordering for their note through one IGEOLUWATOBI, the person in question should speak up & let them know what's up, it will be unfair for one to be delayed, then getting scammed for ordering d reason for refusal after waiting for over a month, then finding out nothing was ordered, the emotional trauma that comes with VISA REFUSAL is alone itself, then adding pepper on top of it, please & please, I am writing this epistle because after my visa was delayed, I asked about ordering my note, and the next thing I got was a mail from the said IGEOLUWATOBI asking if he could help me order my note, the first question I asked him was where is he based & what's his name on the forum & he replied with no name & said I should let him know if I am interested, that was his reply. So please the guy in question should speak up & let people what's up with their gcms note, will post a screenshot of the conversation, all I need to know is if he is genuine. Thanks! NB: couldn't scroll up to read, please ignore all mistakes Eya, pele...please just re-apply yourself through the website people have confirmed is legit. igeoluwatobi is probably somewhere laughing at the bolded |
