kankada:Kankada, People like you are those properly referred as minions. You look at Fulani being everywhere as evidence of supremacy. What tribe are you from? The Fulani - Yoruba war of 1800s attest to this and the Biafran war confirmed it. War is not fought on headcount but on military strategy and political pressure. Yoruba control both elements to its advantage. Fulani has no chance! The Yoruba-Fulani war of 1800s attests to Yoruba supremacy in the field and on decimating and demolishing its opponent. The Biafran war confirms it. The fronts held by Fulani was noted for mob actions and massacre and suffered greatest loss on Nigerian side, which is why MiddleBeltans were recruited to help them. The fronts held by Yorubas were swift in victories and less casualties....and without help from any other ethnic group. |
LeOstrich:Who has ever come to you for help? You are the ones always soliciting Yoruba help in your political quagmire. |
Founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress, Frederick Fasehun, has described the destruction of Chief Olu Falae’s farm in Akure by cattle belonging to Fulani herdsmen as an embarrassment to the Yoruba race, while also calling on the people of Yorubaland to defend their territories. The farm of Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was destroyed barely two weeks after the herdsmen kidnapped him and detained him in the bush until a ransom was paid, releasing after four days. Fasehun, who spoke at the Yoruba Summit in Ibadan on Thursday, said Yoruba’s patience with the Fulani herdsmen, who he accused of killing and raping their hosts, had been exhausted. He therefore called for a radical approach to curb the deadly activities of the herdsmen. Fasehun added, “We can no longer continue to preach patience when our guests are disrespecting our territorial integrity. As it is, the territorial integrity of the Yoruba race is at risk. This is the time for the Yoruba people, especially the youth, to stand up and defend their nation. “We do not have to depend on the Fulani herdsmen cattle when we have goats and chicken here. If it is confrontation, we are prepared to confront these people. Enough is enough. “These killing, kidnapping and raping by these people on our land must stop. When violence confronts violence, we will achieve peace. We have been preaching peace for 55 years but peace has not been sustained.” While saying there was still room for dialogue, Fasehun said the visitors must learn to live with their hosts in Yorubaland. He stated, “I believe in dialogue but it must have an end. In Oyo State during Lam Adesina era, the present President of the country, Muhammadu Buhari, came to Ibadan to complain to the governor that his people, the Fulani herdsmen, were being confronted by the indigenous farmers. “Now that Buhari is the President, the Fulanis had the courage to traverse the entire land space from the North to kidnap Falae in a corner of Nigeria. How much patience do you want 50 million Yoruba people to have again? Nigeria belongs to all of us. The invasion must stop. We should inform those who are violating the integrity of our people to stop.” At the event, which was attended by prominent Yoruba elders, leader of the OPC, Gani Adams, blamed the invasion of the Fulani herdsmen on disunity in Yoruba land. He said, “We lost Yoruba unity because we disregard the strength of our language. We only react, we are never prepared. The issue is beyond Falae; unless we address it quickly. We must put politics aside and we must restructure Nigeria on the basis of true federalism.” http://www.punchng.com/news/fasehun-asks-yoruba-to-confront-fulani-herdsmen/ |
wytecat:The official report has not been released to the public. For someone who spent last two days demanding fact based information, where did you obtain information that regionalism and state police was killed? |
voltron:Is it really a national dilemma? Are you able to show how your fathers in SE have responded in unison to what you carelessly termed national dilemma? ![]() You just open mouth and talk any kind of way without reasoning! |
OP, We should first understand who the Fulani nomads are and what they gain by roaming around 1. The Fulani nationality is a fluid one. A Fulani from Cameroon, from Niger, from Burkina, from Mali...how do we identify them apart from Fulani in Nigeria and stop their illegal entry into Nigeria? 2. Their easy and uncontrolled accessibility into ethnic regions give them a rich knowledge of the terrain and ability to control that terrain to their advantage during confrontation. They map the land. If there is inter-ethnic war and Fulani invade the indigenes will not succeed in using their terrain for cover and advantage. Chief Falae spoke about how his abductors are constntly in motion the whole four days crossing streams and farms. How did they know this Ondo terrain so well that they were able to keep the coordinates of their movement away from the rescue teams? This is a big danger and security threat! 3. They monopolise and control cow supply and therefore, to some degree, have the power to sabotage meat supply and feed us with contaminated meat. 4. Feed. The cows themselves do not gain anything by roaming and trekking over long distance for food. The purpose of this trek is simply for marketing and its control point is in the South. They have camps or settlements in the South, particularly in West with heavy demand for cows. Their stock has to be replenished very frequently and on time. Therefore the trekking of Fulani and his cows is simply a transportation, he leaves home with 500 herds and deposits them at camps in South, collects pay for his job (not for cows, he doesnt own the cows, he is a middle man...the big oga in North who owns the cows gets a big remittance for his cows), returns back to North to rest and wait for signal to transport next batch of herds down South. 5. A day in the life of Cow. The Northern region is a suited climate for the specie of cow the Fulani keeps. They can be kept in South as well but not for very long, they will soon get disease and no one wants to eat diseased meat. However, the rich grass in the savannah is the most ideal feed to raise cows on and fatten them for market. This is why clashes between Fulani and indigenes have persisted in the Middle Belt. Fulani would love to displace the indigenes from their land. Further down south the vegetation changes from grassland to forest, and the nature of the confrontation changes as well. There is no grassland but abundant farmlands with rich crops to fatten the cows. 6. Traditional grazing path. Fulani's claim their lifestyle and livelihood will be altered by blocking access to paths they have used for years to graze. This is incorrect. In Yorubaland for instance there had never been confrontation with Fulani over cow feed...but we have always had farmers and the farmlands and communities have not changed. Oke Ogun for instance is an ancient settlement. So what path were they using to feed their cows and avoided confrontation in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now in the 00s we are having increase in clashes? There is something else Fulani is looking for and it's not peace! Suggestions: We cannot stop influx of Fulanis from other countries. West Africa has been designated a common market, a West African of one country can enter freely into other West African countries with no restrictions . The discussion around creating a natuonal grazing path is a useless one. We have an open market, a capitalist system of economy. You don't force others to conceed their land or portions of their land to Federal Government to donate to a ethnic group for market advantage. There is no truth in the talk that Fulani hsd a grazing path. What Fulani had was a transport route to get cows from point A to B, in the process the cows feed along, simple! Fulani need only one thing in the South and that is the market. The South does not have the nutritious feed cows need to gain beef pounds, therefore a national grazing path is a deceit. In the modernity of commerce supply chains use modal transportation and depot facilities to get their commodity stock from point A to B. It cuts down on cost because it is scalable and delivers quicker returns because the supply rotates faster. Instead of a national grazing path, government should spend that money to build ranches and depots in the North as permanent camps for cow farming and transporting. Government should also build grass pastures in the MiddleBelt and Savannah for cultivators to grow, harvest and sell to ranchers in the North. The people that buy cows for consumption dont get the meat free, they pay for it. Fulani ranchers will be able to buy feed from producers in the Savannah belt at a cost. When ready for market transporters will be paid to haul the cows over the road for their various market destinations. This will grow the economy and is well in line with government's vision to diversify economy and support agriculture. |
CreampieAngela:Chei, this your own profile picture na wa o. I didnt know pictures like that are allowed on nl. Na wa! |
likila: tpiander:Fulanis do not move ordinarily, they use a lot of fetish and human blood rituals. They have deities they worship and is how they acquire different charms and power that make it hard for their victims.to hear their approach. You are on your farm tending to crops and lift up your head and Fulani and 500 cows are in front of you. What makes their approach hard to detect through the wind also make their retreat difficultto track through the forest. No be ordinary eye now.... |
wytecat:Do we have problems internally that we need to hurriedly attend to? Yes! This is no time to bicker at internal issues. I agree Ibo is a problem, a gnat, and we need to permanently resolve their problem. Ibo dare not attack Yoruba physically, they are well aware of the consequences and don't need to be coached in that area at all. While they are too afraid to strike a blow they take to internet and hide behind pseudonyms to insult us with labels. The tongue lash is an irritation nonetheless but Ibo is well contained and psychologically programmed to such a level that they are detrimental as a willing force to any ill intention of Biafra against Yoruba. The Fulani issue is a serious one because it is multi layered. We need a regional policy for dealing with the issue of Fulani. I would like for you to go in archives and study the track records of Agbekoya in Yorubaland. Agbekoya, in the 60s, brought the whole Government of Western Nigeria to an almost standstill that Chief Awolowo himself had to come to terms with their demands. If what we are seeing frim Fulani in this times happened back when Agbekoya was active Miyeti and ACF will not be yarning crap....because all Fulani Chiefs in SW would already have been declared non-entity and told to evacuate immediately and explain later. Instead, we have Fulani Chiefs asking if we are sure Falae was kidnapped by herdsmen. Even OPC, which is child's play compared with Agbekoya, would already have few Fulani heads hanging on a stake if this had happened before they were defanged. Yoruba is not timid nor shy when it comes to inhumane treatment of those it considers threats to its security, however, we never go to UN or ICJ calling for help when these mothrfvkers, whether Ibo or Fulani, harass and assault us.....but the moment we open heat on their @ss they are quick to run to Human Rights and ICJ and report our atrocities. In closing, I plead with you to calm down and not join hands with those throwing stones at our glasshouse. Oduduwa a gbe wa o, Ase! |
wytecat:Your emotions in this matter revolves around pride. In the face of repeated barrage and noise making and insultive comments by Ibo you are looking for a decisive strike from Yoruba to inflict pain on its attackers and remove doubts about our strength. You have had various of that happened in small measures over pas three years in which Yorubas directly struck blow at Ibo's ego and brought them to their knees. That did not stop their labelling us cowards even as pictures emerged of their leaders in Ladipo market laying on their bellies on the ground begging Mushin LG Chairman to have mercy. A packload of Ezes came from East on pilgrimage to worship Fashola and beg for relief for Ladipo. That's the elite and top of the chain of their societies making a trip to Yorubaland to beg...yet Ibo still claimed they are brave and Yoruba is coward. When Oba of Lagos summoned their Ezes to his Palace and issued them a directive on which way to vote and if they voted against his endorsement he would drown them in Lagoon, Ibos made noise and ran to ICJ for protection. Yet they label us cowards. I have taken time to dig up this article in my archive, i want you to take time to read it in its entirety. OPC has served Yoruba very well, they are not righteous or perfect and Yorubas have been ruthlessly dealt with in their aggression to fight crime and restore dignity and morals to the land but it is also Yorubas that called for their ban saying this is 21st century and barbaric tactics adopted by OPC are outdated....particularly after the Ejigbo pepper incident. Well, we did away with archaic methods before we have acquired twentyfirst century methodologies for defending our homeland. Its a shame to see how we are conflicted about our timeline in history and the struggle to survive Nigeria. We cannot wish away the reality that we live in a jungle, not in Rome....and jungle tactics is still relevant regardless what millenium it is on the Roman calendar. Anyway.....follow link, read and let me know what you think. https://www.hrw.org/report/2003/02/28/oodua-peoples-congress-opc/fighting-violence-violence |
Ilekeh:On point! |
Angoni:No, we cannot destroy water resources and crops in the interest of stopping this problem, thats counter effective. The proper approach is to attack the problem head on. |
Ola17:Nduchuks is a clown known for reducing serious issues to satires in the name of a non-existing One Nigeria. He does not need a response everytime he writes, definitely not on this one. |
If Fulani herdsmen are armed, what is wrong with arming Yoruba farmers to the teeth for counter attack? Are guards at the farm not armed? If they razed Falae farn, they have equally rzed other farms and caused greater destructiin. We can no longer blame Fulani, we await action and directive from our own leaders on this insult. ![]() |
nduchucks:Anyone "found" guilty is exactly the law! Fulanis are usually "not found" after their atrocities and is why they escape prosecution. We have an army of Yoruba defenders who have perfected and taught others how "not to be found" on ground zero. We will back them with lawyers trained and skilled in fabricating legal loop holes. Lumping every Fulani together and labeling them criminal is justified. They did not deny that their herdsmen carry weapons. Are they licensed to bear arms? There is nothing in their actions more criminal than this. |
Fulaman198:Beside Yorubas, is there any other ethnic group in Nigeria that throws party every weekend? So there are many ways to assess this situation. From its economic perspective SW is the biggest consumer of your cattles, the biggest clientele anywhere in Nigeria. If no one else buys your cattle you will still be rich selling to Yoruba alone. On the other hand, if Yoruba decides to place sanction on your supply and to import its meat, your fathers will suffer a heavy revenue loss. Do you not know this shyte? We can make your next generation suffer an irreparable loss simply by invoking a change in the supply chain....and we don't need to put ak47 to your head or a dagger to your neck to achieve your slow decay. We are superbly above you in the social class and can subject you to heavy losses from angles you cannot see and do not know. Tell your fvkng herders to watch themselves! ![]() |
nduchucks:Poor management and road regulation, poor standards and inspection, fake spare parts, absence of consumer protection acts....all these are distributed evenly across the nation. We don't yet have suicide drivers behind wheels in Nigeria and so road fatalities are blind to ethnicity. Your mind is not working right on civic matters if you do not have this basic knowledge. In fact you are a danger to this community when you mix an involutary ending of road accident with the voluntary and calculated act of demolishing the ecology, the environment and instigating disability in society and moreso alloting priority to former. Check yourself! ![]() |
This woman paid for the slot to speak. It is well timed and is aimed at fraternizing with academicians for cover against probe and arrest from her past contribution to economic raype of the country. ...and guess the title of her lecture, how illicit money is siphoned out of developing countries. This is an attempt to distance herself from her coccoon of illicit deals in import waivers...a very good outlet for money laundering. You can fool some people sometimes, you can't fool everybody all the time. ![]() |
wytecat:I believe I sumned it up pretty good that Falae failed to fully grasp the consequence of his acceptance of a less than full measure of the reparation due to him as damages from previous invasion. There are many angles to this issue but before I even engage you on any kind of dialogue at all I want to let you know that you've stepped beyond boundaries big time. There is only one way I know to talk, and that is to defend Yorubaland from aggressors, I dont know any other way to talk to Nigerians. You have said so much shyt here about Yorubas and I want you to clarify your position here before I respond to anymore of your bullshyt and we have to take this gaddem discussion to another level. Who are you? |
tabletman1:You are a bloody liar. We want to see the credible news report of each of these claims to prove you had guts. |
TonyeBarcanista: Former Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has denied spending $2.1 billion Excess Crude Account cash “without authorisation” and has offered to face any enquiry over the allegation.http://thenationonlineng.net/okonjo-iweala-defends-2-0b-eca-spending/ A knock at the door is coming soon. |
Ok!! What does Madam to teach us about illicit financial flow from developing countries? I hope EFCC is tuned in... |
Each time public discussion is thrown out on Dieziani and NNPC Madam Okonjo-Iweala had a piece to add in defense of her complicit cover on corruption and incompetense to manage the economy. Has Madam not heard that Dirzani was arrested? This is what happens when shyt hits fan...everyone for himself/herself. Anytime someone knocks at her door I bet her heart skips a beat... Yoruba people sah Eni ba je 'gbi', a ku "gbi"! If you no do wrong, no need to fear wrongdoing knocking your door. |
RIP |
ArodewilliamsT:Stfu! Not everything is a religious battle. This has nothing to do with religion. This is simply a territorial and rights of way issue. Fulani does worse in your own states in East you hide their atrocities from coming to public and swallow the insult. Go and face their rampage through Iboland and ask if your leaders are silent because they worship Sokoto. |
Wulfruna:Very good point! |
Hold on...a Hausa woman was special adviser to UN Secretary General and we are just learning of it? Let her be Ibo woman....every section of Nairaland, including Computer section will hear the noise from my Ibo people. Facebook and twitter will be flooded with embelishments of her greatness in Africa. In this regard, I salute Hausa people for their good social manner and humility. |
Does this girl forget that her own father is not of pedigree blood? |
wytecat:I hope you know, wytecat, that this kidnap has a footprint. There have been several encounters between Falae and Fulanu herdsmen. The last before the kidnap was a mediated case in which the Fulani herdsmen and their representatives were billed a certain amount of reparation to avoid court case. They could not pay the whole amount and settlsd for about half or so. The herdsmen we are talking about are those who violate property and boundary rights, who destroy farmlands and when opposed attack the owner and murder or kidnap him...and these herdsmen have a face, or do they not? In parting with him Falae said his captor warned if he went out there and talk nonsense he will return and get him. This is a relationship of authority. Fulani is imposing himself as authority over a Yoruba icon....get this, on his own soil! How did that happen? Falae himself is a contributor. When he billed them a certain amount and they offered him less, why did he yield to their insulting offer and took it? Thats the beginning of subordination, is it not? Academic knowledge has done a lot of damage to Yoruba's consciousness....it has taken away our ability for assertion and substituted it with readiness to yield to others nonsense. This is Mayor of Lagos. I repeat...FVK FULANI! |
Mayor of Lagos declares and says FVCK FULANI! ![]() |
Falae kidnap was the proverbial straw that broke camel's back. Yorubas are charging that farmers loose money and crops to the deliberate and calculated actions of Fulani herdsmen, who in act of impunity in the backdrop of powerful and reliable support from their Arewa leaders like Buhari, ACF, Miyeti and, as well the Police, rape the land, rape the women and when opposed they escalate their evil by murdering owners of the land or reporting them to police to serve jail term. Yorubas are upset on the totality of Fulani's insult, not just on Falae alone, even though the bottled up steam is just finding that case as an outlet to erupt. Is it ACF or Miyeti's position that none of these several allegations are true? In other words Yorubas are lying? Are MiddleBeltans murdered in scores lying too? I guess Fulani is the only righteous tribe in Nigeria. |

Both the return to regionalism and state police Yoruba asked for were killed and never allowed to sail through, so what's in the confab report for Yoruba?
