AustineE1:
Honestly i hate doing this but i must say at this point, that the older generation of yorubas has created a crowd of wasted young generation, isnt it a big shame that Igbo youths will leave their land, like the Chinese,Indians, jews etc go to one Yoruba state, take over their markets in their quest to achieve greater heights. Make a living out it,bring employment to the large number of unemployable yoruba youths(touts),whose only means of survival is through petty stealing, payement of unwaranted levies to them by hard working igbo youths, inother to keep them from being restive.
At the end of the day, what do they Igbos get from them in return, one useless Oba,will prop their retinue of jobless youths to go and challenge the Igbos, because they ve taken over their markets, lands etc and thats why they the youths may remain jobless.
If nothing is done urgently, this present generation of mainly jobless yoruba youths is a time bomb waiting to explode! There shld be a master plan by yoruba elders to get this army of hungry touts engaged before its too late...i see another boko haram in the making.
The jobless Yoruba youths are on their soil and at home in their nativity.

How about you refugees that bring crime and disease unto our land. What are you doing here?

Igbo people should not have problem in Yorubaland. They have enough in the north already.

Awo ilu mate, O mo iwon ara ri. Meaning; a stranger held in a esteem knows how to behave wisely.

Except for some loud mouthed Biafra on NL who throw caution into the wind abusing every other tribe. There are many reasonable igbo people all over.
Deji biko!
At everyturn we encounter conflicts and problems with Ibo. This mantra of "reasonable Igbo" is a fraud you all play to disarm your opponents.

Today in Senate Anyawu was probing Fashola on deportation. Can you imagine...a whole Senator picking on a past issue for vendetta. These are ones you want to bamboozle us into accepting as reasonable.

An Eze of Iboland wears crown into Deji of Akure palace. He must be crazy! The Deji wears a beaded Crown.
Do you know what a beaded Crown stand for in Yorubaland? Yet you will push this Eze on us as reasonable.

There is no reasonable Ibo anywhere I don tell my people to stop believing the lie.
Even your Ohanaeze that are supposed to guide and lead are unreasonable ....they tell us they control economy and progress of Lagos and Yorubas are lazy.

We must apply a solution to your nuisance in Yorubaland. We will squeeze your economic stream and compress your growth untill you see your homeland as a refuge and relief from the calamity and packup and go home or find elsewhere outside Yorubaland to go settle.

Yoruba need to find a solution to Ibo nuisance on our land, period!

This is the second Oba in Yorubaland they are disrespecting. First, Eleko, now Deji.....not accounting numerous clashes theyve had with Babalojas and Iyalojas on Yoruba soil.

We need a solution to this gnat, this irritant called Ibo...simple!

PoliticsNE Group Asks Buhari To Caution Yorubas by MayorofLagos(op): 2:50am On Oct 15, 2015
The North East Solidarity Forum has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) and other groups from the North-West zone their recent threat for self-determination and secession.

The group described as treasonable felony the secession threat by the groups, following the kidnap of former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae.

In a communiqué it issued on Wednesday after their meeting, the North East Solidarity Forum accused the Yoruba elders of inciting the general populace, especially the people of the South West region of the country to violence and bloodshed.

Apart from the YCE, the group listed other North West groups that needed to be cautioned to include the Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF), the Oodua Foundation, Afenifere, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), the Coalition of Yoruba Autonomy (COYA), the Oodua Democratic Coalition (ODC), the Ominira Yoruba Apapo, and the Agbekoya Organisation.

The group said the ethnic dimensions and utter recklessness attributed to the kidnapping of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation by the elders in the region that are supposed to work with the government of the day and the security agencies to unravel the remote causes of the kidnapping with a view to bringing the culprit to justice must stop.

The communique made available to LEADERSHIP reads in part: “We have gathered here today to critically examine the recent unguarded and unwarranted vituperations that emanated from the Summit of Yoruba Elders in Ibadan, Oyo State and wish to state unequivocally that the threat to secession in the South West must not be taken lightly nor ignored by the Federal Government.

“It must be properly investigated by the security agencies and all actors in the summit must be brought to book”.

In the communique signed by its Co-ordinator General, Usman Abdulkadir the group reminded Nigerians of the situation of Boko Haram that has ravaged the North East and the various kidnapping taking place in different parts of the country.

The group wondered whether the Yoruba Elders would have threatened to secede if the kidnappers of Chief Olu Falae were an Igbo or from other tribes in Nigeria.

The communique stated: “We believe the threat of secession by the Yoruba Elders has a hidden agenda which must be unravelled urgently by the security agencies because of the weighty nature of their statement

“We know that if any region is to make such call, it should have been from the North East due to the ruin the region has witnessed in the last four years.

“A call for the breaking of Nigeria by a section of any individual or groups is a treasonable felony and there is no exception to what happened in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Urging the president to caution the Yoruba elders and others groups, the North East group said, “While we condemn kidnapping or any act of criminality by any indidual in the country and in any part of Nigeria, we want to use this opportunity to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to use all available means to protect the unity, oneness and integrity of this great country Nigeria.

“Nobody is above the law and no tribe or ethnicity can threaten our corporate existence without being called to account for their misdemeanours. The YCE should not be an exception”.

Behold! The State In Nigeria Where A Death Row Prisoner Gets Freedom Plus N1m Bonus

The Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, has constitutionally displayed the power of prerogative of mercy vested on him to veto the death sentence of a prisoner and also releasing 25 prisoners with a take home package of N1m to each of them.

According to The Punch, 25 prisoners in Anambra State on Thursday regained freedom following the amnesty granted to them by the state governor, to mark the 55th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Those, who benefited from the governor’s amnesty package, which was announced with a lifeline of N1m, were from Awka, Onitsha and Aguata prisons.

The state governor, made this known while speaking on Independence day, he said, “Brothers and sisters, I see hope for Anambra State. I see hope for Nigeria. It is along this line that I have decided to give hope to the hopeless amongst us by exercising my powers of prerogative of mercy and granting amnesty to 25 prisoners serving different terms in the three prisons in Anambra State.”

One of the strong beneficiaries, Innocent Okeke was sentenced to death, but was later commuted to life imprisonment before he was finally freed on Thursday by the governor.

Obiano also said government would give the 25 beneficiaries of the amnesty training in the state vocational skill acquisition centre after which they would be given N1m as a lifeline to enable them become self-employed and contribute to the society.

BRF.SAN basically schooled you everything you and other ignorant village illiterates like you don't know about governance, institutional responsibilities and separation of powers in a democratic settings.

There are state institutions constitutionally mandated to deal with such matters and in case of any odious issues , it is up to the legislature to demand the appearance of the heads of the institutions responsible for the transactions to explain their actions and spending because they have the oversight authority constitutionally to deal with such issues.

Fashola as the governor doesn't procure or set prices, this is the constitutional responsibility of stated institutions.

If for whatever reason something smells bad, it is up to the legislature to institute a probe and issue sanctions.

Thank fashola for the lecture and quit rambling on the internet.

TonyeBarcanista:
At the ministerial screening earlier today ex-Lagos state governor Raji Fashola was asked a direct question regarding the N78million appropriated for the building of personal website. Here was Fashola's response...

While we all agree that award of contract is an Institutional process, FASHOLA refused to tell the Senate that the process is only finalised when the relevant commissioner in charge of the affected ministry append his/her signature as prescribed by Section 30(5) of Lagos State Public procurement Law (2011) which Fashola signed into law... In fact subsection 5 was very clear...

30.— (1)   There is established by this Law in each of the State’s Ministry, Extra-ministerial Office/Department/Agency, Parastatal, Corporation, a Tenders’ Board.

(2)   Subject to the approval of the Board, the Agency shall from time to time prescribe the membership of the Tenders’ Board.

(3)   The Tenders’ Board shall have power to award and be responsible for the procurements of goods, works and services within the benchmark set in the Regulations to this Law.

(4)   In all cases where there is a need for pre-qualifications, the Chairman of the Tenders’ Board shall constitute a technical evaluation subcommittee of the Tenders’ Board charged with the responsibility for the evaluation of bids which shall be made up of professional staff of the procuring entity and the Secretary of the Tenders Board who shall also be the Chairman of the Evaluation subcommittee.

(5)   The decision of the Tenders’ Board shall be communicated to the Commissioner for implementation.
(EMPHASIS Mine)
http://www.lagosppa.gov.ng/ppa-law/tenders’-boards

Fashola Indicts Himself:
From the section (SPECIFICALLY subsection 5) it is expressly clear that the Fashola's administration through the affected Commissioner 'okayed' the contract to be awarded at that RIDICULOUS amount. We should also note that Commissioners are not elected but appointed by Governors and they report to Governors. That means the affected Commissioner must have reported the said contract to then Governor Fashola while reporting the activities of his ministry to his boss.

Looking at the defence that Fashola put up and placing it side by side with procedure, two things can be deduced;

1. Fashola was aware of the whole thing but deliberately LIED before the Senate to cover his track. He was fully aware of the deal. The job of the Commissioner is to ensure that contracts by the Tender Board is in the public interest. His/her signature is a testament of endorsement. Fashola as briefed but deliberately refused to revoke nor question the contract. In fact, he was silent about it until Ambode raised alarm. OR

2. Fashola was not aware thereby making him complacent of his duties as governor of Lagos state. If this is true (which is doubtful), then we beg to ask how many more inflated contracts went undetected by the Governor? This second is a statement of incompetence.

Both 1 and 2 are indicting if we look at them from any angle..

The 'I Never Signed Chequ' Holds No Water
The Fashola's 'I never signed cheque' statement is untenable anywhere. No Governor or Presidents signs cheque for the award of contract in Nigeria. There are Accountants that effect payment. What is required of the political officers is to APPROVE contracts for the Accountants to issue cheques. So why should Fashola use that as defence? Let me also remind all that NO Governor or President 'steal' or inflate contracts directly! The process to loot has always been INFLATION of contracts through relevant Commissioners/D-Gs etc.

It is however unfortunate that the Senate FAILED to ask relevant question but instead nod their heads in ignorance. It is very shameful that the same Nigerians that called for the head of Princess Stella Oduah over the N260million vehicle were singing Fashola's praise for the shabby defence that he put up.
