Operation Pulo Shield! Does anyone know what Pulo means? I'll tell you... Letter F in Hausa lexicon is pronounced as P and vice versa. So Finland or Florida is pronounced Pinland and Plorida respectively. Place like Port Harcourt is pronounced Fort Harcourt. Pulo is the Hausa pronounciation of Fulo, a name designation for the Fulani ethnic tribe. Operation Pulo Shield is same as Operation Fulo Shield or Operation Fulani Shield. This and many other symbolisms of Northern influence like the ajami on naira or on coat of arms need to be done away with. Will they name an operation in North and call it Operation Toru Ebe Shield? |

The criminal activities of some Fulani herdsmen over time in the South-West which culminated in the sad and regrettable kidnap and torture of elder statesman, frontline politician and a leader of the Yoruba nation, Chief Olu Falae made the Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere to issue a strongly worded warning to the Fulani herdsmen to behave or face the people’s retribution if the security agencies would not bring them to order. Expectedly and as it has always been the stock in trade of the Arewa Consultative Forum, a counter warning was issued to Afenifere, upbraiding the foremost Yoruba group for the communiqué it issued shortly after Pa Olu Falae regained his freedom from the hands of the suspected Fulani herdsmen who kidnapped him wherein the Yoruba group stated that “If the federal government fails to stop Fulani herdsmen from attacking Yoruba people, it may result in a situation where the South-West people will have to defend themselves.” The ACF has picked on this statement, and in order to justify its desperate attempt at defending and covering up criminal elements of the Fulani descent, twisted the communiqué from Afenifere and distorted its message. For the avoidance of doubt and from the quote above, Afenifere was very clear as to whom their warnings were directed at. The communiqué issued warned of a situation where if the federal government fails to stop Fulani herdsmen from attacking Yoruba people, it may result in the people defending themselves. An honest analysis of this statement simply implies that Afenifere never and I do not think that such a highly respectable group will ever condescend so low as to criminalise a whole region, tribe or race as the ACF would want us to believe. Those affected by Afenifere’s admonition are clearly stated: the Fulani HERDSMEN who ATTACK Yoruba people. This is different from saying it is all Fulani herdsmen not to talk of it referring to all Fulani. This antic of the ACF is age-long. It is the same antic they use to try to cow other regions into doing their biddings and also a way of always having their way in all matters concerning the nation. Rather than face the more urgent and criminal issue of the wanton attacks perpetrated by their kinsmen, they prefer to pander to the gallery. They have always behaved like a heady headmaster who goes about dishing out instructions to his pupils who must obey without hesitation. That has come to stop! It is this same antic they have used to silence the leaders of North-Central where the reprehensible criminal activities of these Fulani herdsmen have since assumed a brazen proportion. One wonders why, in spite of the incessant killings, maiming and raping of harmless and innocent people including women and children in droves, leaders of these region have found it convenient to just look on as if the lives of the victims do not matter. The Yoruba, learning from history, have to continue to speak up now or the region is turned into a theatre of war. No one region or tribe can or should intimidate the other! It is this same antic that has been used to also cow our security agencies which appear powerless while the killings take place in the north central on a regular basis. If not, one wonders why a Fulani herdsman would seem to be allowed to move about freely with dangerous weapons including machetes, swords and even AK 47s without being challenged by any security personnel? Are there two different laws guiding the handling of weapons and firearms in Nigeria, one for the Fulani herdsmen and the other for the rest of us? What would happen if a man dressed in Igbo or Yoruba attire moves about with an AK 47 rifle in Lagos, Enugu or Kano? Would such a man not be promptly arrested and charged for illegal possession of firearm or the endangerment of public safety? According to recent reports, residents of Enugu, South-East Nigeria, have also raised the alarm about the destructive activities of these herdsmen. Instead of the ACF to call their herdsmen to order and urge them to respect the rights of their hosts, they are busy trying to sound tough for vain purposes. It would be a needless mistake if anyone thinks what the Afenifere or this essay sets out to achieve is to demonize any particular race, region or tribe. Far from it! Those in focus are Fulani herdsmen who attack people with reckless abandon. It is good to make this distinction because among the Fulani are successful lawyers, doctors, engineers etc who have made their marks in their different professions. Therefore it is even more criminal to categorise all Fulani as herdsmen as ACF has attempted to do while attempting to denigrate Afenifere’s communiqué. What we ask for is mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence among all peoples of our great country. A situation where a group of people raid people’s farms and destroy their crops without let or hindrance leaving behind trails of blood and sorrow is no longer acceptable. While we call on the security agencies to be brave enough to perform their duties without fear or favour, let it be clearly stated that the usual antics of the ACF to cow other regions the way they have succeeded in emasculating leaders of North-Central has failed, and the warning of Afenifere should be heeded to forthwith as to do otherwise could degenerate into an unwanted state of mass retribution for the criminal Fulani herdsmen. This type of shyyte is what Fayose should concentrate noise on if he truly wants to stamp his political relevance as an opposition giant, instead of rambling crap. Northerners are meeting.to change the penal code system. How many Yoruba Governors are aware of this and its impact nationally and its effect on our citizens resident in North, and if any, what is their response to it? We call Northerners backward and dull.....it doesn't appear so. Nigeria has three legal systems recognized by the Constitution Common Law. Customary Law. Sharia Law. What legal system are they setting up a committee to review? If it's the common law, it is not their duty to review common law. If it's sharia law, it is still not their duty to review Sharia law. If it's customary law, they have overstepped their boundaries and should be cautioned. Can someone please alert our educated but unenlightened Governors of these dangers. Read it here.... http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/insecurity-northern-governors-set-up-committee/222371/ |
To that mumu disputing Kwara history and culture....the Bariba town is Kaiama and the Nupe town is Pategi. Every other town is Yoruba named, all way to the banks of the Niger at Jebba. |
MbashrexBashir:You are a mumu big time. Go and look at all the major towns in Kwara and tell me which one bears Hausa name or Fulani name. Yoruba is majority in Kwara, followed by Bariba, then followed by Nupe and lastly Hausa/Fulani. All the towns in Kwara State bear Yoruba names except two....one is Bariba and other is Nupe. In fact Jebba, the Northernmost part of Kwara and directlybon the bank of Niger is a Yoruba town ruled by an Oba. Hausa is not the language of Kwara, Yorhba is. Hausa/Fulani is deceiving itself when it claims it has hold on Kwara or Ilorin. They will have first to own Niger State and Nupeland before they can own Kwara, a Yorubaland. Kwara was called West Central State and the rule of military and all kind of edicts and decrees strenghtened Northern grip on Kwara. The destiny of Emirate in Ilorin will end when the current Emir dies. Kwarans themselves are working on it but each time the center is Presided by a Northerner, people like Saraki are empowered by the center bevause they serve as the Hausa Fulani proxies and are North-Centric in their views. You need to listen to Rilwaney and learn or go to official Kwara State website and learn. |
Ambode is the right man for the job and he has 8yrs of ruling Lagos State. You guys need to accept your fate in the outcome of his victory and start singing "Eko Oni Baje"! |
Biafrans cant do anything to her...all they can do is carry placard and protest on the road or complain to ICJ about how she is praising her father's heroism. |
Mmtcheew, smh looking at these pictures. This means only one thing......Yorubaland, here.comes more Biafran refugees.

OP, The front page is prime space and every poster want their topic to be on FP and so we solicit Lalastix to jump on the thread, review and get it to fp if it merits to be there. Lalastix, with this PR job Ive earned myself a credit against ban so next time I violate rule instead of banning me just charge it to this credit and we will be even. You hear me bro? ![]() |
xtrorse:Mumu, have you seen the latest news from Emir of Ilorin? He is begging Buhari to implement confab report. His key words - the people have spoken! We will revisit that at later time. Very interesting coming from Ilorin. How is abandoned property in PH? Has the law against selling land to Ibo being lifted yet or are you still renters in your own land? ![]() |
passionate88:If you are a political analyst you will not be sourced in mainstream news articles. Are you aware that Fayose served under Yaradua Presidency and he was always praising and cheering support for that dead Fulani man? . I await your response.... |
nduchucks:If you read the entire article you notice dialogue to find an ending solution was not ruled out. Yoruba is not known for keeping calm and standing by when a justifiable cause demands defense with one's life. Our daughters and women are not part of 72virgins promised to Fulani by his faith. If he believes otherwise he can try his luck now that the Elders have proclaimed him a non-entity in Yorubaland. Thanks for your generosity anyway, when we need help we will call. Until then save yourself from the panic and risk of hypertension. |
JEGA01:It's like a rat warning a Lion.....look, if you roar at me one more time this planet no go contain both of us! ![]() Yeah, we know who would decease from the planet. ![]() |
CSTR2:War refugee feeling funky. ![]() |
CSTR2: . The last time you led an Ibo force to Yoruba your failures are recorded permanently in history. Who is the "we" that will trust your leadership in a war? Ibo is feeling funky in his war regalia. ![]() |
kettykin:Your hatred is a lump, it sits at the entrance on the head where divine guidance uses to enter and illumine the spirit.....your ability to reason is blocked by a dark lump. |
Ghost01:In effect he is saying the assembly uses Yoruba to conduct business except on Thursday they use English he wants them to not revert and use Yoruba throughout. He did not give reason why they use English on Thursday. |
Chiaka:Protest on the street ke, na Aba you think say we dey talk? Yorubas dont protest, we announce our intent well ahead of our action. Protest...in Yorubaland ![]() |
nduchucks:This nonsense will apply if you had addressed it to a situation involving those who habitually are known to position their horse behind the cart. Save it for a proper time to throw it back up for their use. Yorubas know where the horse belongs and where the cart belongs....and we never get it wrong! There is difference between internal conflict of intrrest and an external assault. Each has its remedy. We will remedy the Fulani problem on our land. |
Chiaka:So na the British massacre your fathers in Ore and chased the remaining cowards running with their tails tucked in? Ojukwu ran away from British soldiers? Biafra surrendered to Britain? Your passage card was issued by Britain? Aremu na British name? ![]() |
theDEVILisHERE:Thats your wish but history and records is counter to your admissions. Did you not call Buhari a illiterate cow herder in the immediate past election? Did your Nwabueze not conceed to their bullcrap during the 1999 constitution draft? Did Ironsi not underestimate them? I suggest you go into historical archives and update yourself instead of ranting bs here. |
xtrorse:My response to this is a simple truth. If you dont like it jump in Lagoon. 1. When Yoruba confronted your fathers at Ore and brought out the real "noisemakers", your fathers, the real "cowards" turned their backs and fled back towafds Biafra. 2. After we chased your fathers out of Ore....we did not scale back...we kept on the heat till you were completely defeated and surrendered to noisemakers, cowards from SW. 3. If you don't believe me see picture of the pass Biafrans must carry and show to get access in Nigeria. Issued to them by a man called Aremu, a noisemaker coward from SW. Bloody refugee, 5th class citizen of Nigeria.

Lagosians love their Oba. Ambode is aware and sticking with the mainstream. |
CSTR2:Hehehehehe....which one be Igbo Nigerian soldier?? Dude, you funny! You no see wetin Igbo Nigerian General Ihejirika dey do? He went into hiding after talks about court martial. He was supposed to contest Abia governorship abi na Senator sef. Which Igbo dem born well to trespass boundaries set by his Yoruba lords? |
onenaira3:Isnt that similar to what happened in 67? First Yoruba warned you to wait and not rush into secession without full preparation and readiness. Your fathers said Yorubas are cowards, we will not wait, we are ready, we are prepared, When you invaded Midwest, Yorubas warned you to respect the rights and territories of minorities and to stay in your territory. Your fathers responded and said Yorubas are weak, noisemakers and Biafra is coming to occupy and save Yorubaland. Yorubas told you we are not ready and prepared for secession, we will do so at our own time and with our own might, we dont need helpers. Your fathers grew less patient and say Yorubas are nothing but noisemakers, cowards and marched on. When Yoruba confronted your fathers at Ore and brought out the real "noisemakers", the real "cowards" turned their backs and fled back towafds Biafra. There was a lesson Yorubas learnt during Fulani war. We pursued Fulani as they scampered out and abandoned their camps on the outskirts of Oyo, which they had planned to invade. Everytime they would attempt to recover we opened fire on their @ss and kept on the heat until we chased them completely across Jebba and they were on the other bank of the river. Yoruba did not hold down Ilorin, believing Fulani was gone.for good judging from the damage and.loss. That error is what led to Ilorin being an Emirate. We fell back once we chased them out of our land but they regrouped and entered back into Ilorin. After we chased your fathers out of Ore....we did not scale back...we kept on the heat till you were completely defeated and surrendered to noisemakers, cowards from SW. So yes, you are correct, we are noisemakers and cowards. We have dared Fulani....if dem born their father well and they know and are sure that they can face Yoruba in a war....they should try nonsense and violate the limitations given by our elders. Its not.only Fulani that will be dealt woth....it will be a prime opportunity.to.firmly deal with all irritants on our soil, Ibo included. We have the population to handle.it, we have the resource to sustain it and we have alliances to enforce political pressures. Fulani and Ibo....we dare you both, try nonsense. |
theDEVILisHERE:The mistake he is talking about is the habit of South labelling North backward, uneducated, illiterate, almajiri, cow herder, and all sorts of labels that perceive them as people with a lack of understanding in how society and its complexities function....and thus believing that we can bamboozle and hoodwink them advantageously with our background in western education. They are not to be underestimated for lack of education, their.wisdom prevails and is a counterforce that substitute well in absence of western lifestyles. You did not understand this simple writing, so how did you conclude that SW is guilty of a commentary that went over and above your comprehension? |
Okanokan:While I agree with much of what you say, you left out a very good point. The Northern political structure is the weakest link in Nigeria. There is a strong attachment to roots, religious beliefs and worship in the North. The Northerners are terrified of a breakup. Back in the 50s and 60s when Federalism had not taken such a firm footing and.we had provinces, each with its headquarters, Northerners attempted to secede and would have had it far muvh easier if it happened and before the current political maturity where political alliances in the North is fractured. The only element holding North together is a Southern opponent. If that opponent disappers North wkll fracture very badly. Hausa/Fulanis are very informed of this and so they oppose anything that look like or smell like separation from South. They are not as strong politically or militarily as they are credited to be. There is a reason Yoruba people keep saying they will leave Nigeria but never do and is because the elders have studied and discovered the weakpoints in North and they play with it.by jerking Hausa/Fulani like a doll on the end of a rope. Yoruba is the least ethnic group with opportunity cost in the dissolution of Nigeria. We have nothing to loose or any residual ethnic clashes to clean up. The Yoruba Commonwealth is integral and homogeneous and broadly diverse. Hausa or Fulani cannot boast of that.....the Emirates will not last fifty years if Hausa/Fulani go alone. South is the lifeline of North....if Ibos go their way, Yoruba go their way, North will collapse and fragment.soon after. |
xtrorse:SE must rise up and defend its territory against Fulani invasion. At moment we are waiting.to see two things occur 1. If Fulani is stupid enough to attempt another assault on Yorubaland. 2. If Ibo is brave enough to follow in the footsteps of Yoruba and after what you all have suffered in the hands of the herdsmen to dare Fulani to violate SE territory. Yoruba will first put Fulani in shape, then afterward come after you slaves and put.you where you belong. Wait and see..... |
Yoruba leaders have given a stern response to Fulani, including immediate call for homeland defense of Yoruba Commonwealth. The Ibos suffer worse in the hands of Fulani than Yorubas do and for far much longer. Ibos eere mocking Yorubas on outcome of Falae abduction . We have given a firm "dare us and see result" message to Fulani. .....waiting on coward Ibos and their Ezes to do same and show the country they are brave and powerful and are not afraid of Fulani. Your elders in SE have 48hrs. Countdown.... |
