THE INFIDELITY ECONOMY IN NIGERIA

If married men become "responsible" overnight, millions of Nigerian young women and their families would slip into abject poverty.

They have seen young women through university, established businesses, employed, sponsored them abroad for studies, immigration or vacation and empowered them in return for sexual gratification. The "infidelity economy" in Nigeria is worth billions of dollars and creates jobs and livelihoods for millions. Though wives often wail about their husband's infidelity, ironically, women have been the greatest beneficiaries of men's infidelity.

Some women date multiple married men and they live like Princesses, using high-end cars, live in luxury apartments etc., without a real job.

Some have 9-5 jobs as camouflages but married men are their real benefactors.

Some husbands get jobs, contracts or other opportunities without realizing that it was their wives' married ex's or current dates that made it happen.

Many women who are now married today, benefited immensely from dating married men, they know all the tricks involved and so, they fight and even risk their lives, trying to prevent their husbands from having affairs because these affairs are amongst other risks, financially draining. They know!

Married men have done more for young women than their fathers/mothers or in some cases, husbands and the government.

CrimeCourt Remands Runaway Ponzi Scheme Operator, Ajetunmobi Over N7.5billion Alleged by MAYOWAAK(op): 8:59am On Jul 08, 2023
Earlier thread: https://www.nairaland.com/6814367/bamise-elizabeth-ajetunmobi-antigua-barbuda

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State has ordered the remand of Bamishe Ajetunmobi, a Ponzi Scheme Operator, who has been on the run since 2021, over alleged N7.5 billion fraud.

Justice Chukwuejekwu Aneke, remanded the Ponzi Scheme Operator, after he pleaded not guilty to 12 counts charge made against him by the men of Force Criminal Investigation Department Force CID (Annex) Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos.

Arraigning the defendant, the prosecution counsel Morufu Animashaun, a legal office in the Force CIID, annex, Alagbon-Ikoyi, told the defendant conspired with his wife, Elizabeth Ajetunmobi, who is now at large, and their company, Imaging Global Solutions Limited, committed the offences something in February 2021.

Animashaun told the court that the defendant and his wife had lured the fraud victims with 10 percent returns on investment (ROI), to commit the offences.

Among those allegedly defrauded by the defendant and the sums received from them includes: Mr. Olawale Lawal, N1.5 billion; Mrs. Kate Omu, N500 million, Mr. Erhi Catherine Ojoboh, N2 billion, and Mr. Abioye Idris, N3.5 billion.

The prosecutor told the court that the offences committed by the defendant contravened sections 8 (a), 1(a)(c) and 1 (2) of the Advance Fee fraud and other Fraud related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section I (3) of the same Act.

He also told the court that the offences are contrary to section 383 of the Criminal Code Cap C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and punishable under Section 390 (a) of the same.

Prior to his arraignment, the prosecutor told the charge against the defendant was filed in 2022, and that when the defendant came elusive, the police secured a warrant of arrest from the court.

He told the court that the defendant was however arrested by International Police (Interpol) at Ivory Coast, this year.

Animashaun, by oral application, urged the court to strike out the name of the defendant's wife from the charge, so that the defendant arraignment can go on.

Following the submission made by the prosecutor, Justice Aneke struck out the name of the defendant's wife from the charge, and ordered that the charge be ready to the defendant.

The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the 12 counts charge, when they were read to him.

The defendant was not represented by any lawyer.

Following defendant's not guilty plea, the the prosecutor asked the court for a trial date. He also urged the court to remand him in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) till the determination of the charges against him.

Consequently, Justice Aneke ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Services centre, Ikoyi and adjourned the case to November 29, fo trial.

Ewedu warps the human brain.... Study has shown.
Avoid that disgusting algae
We raised every Igbo that matters in history with our Ewedu soup.
Ojukwu's father arrived in Lagos when he was 26 years old. He raised Ojukwu a Lagos boy.
Ekwueme attended Kings College and was developed eating Ewedu.
Chinua Achebe and the Okigbo brothers were raised and developed in Ibadan eating Ewedu and Gbegiri.
Emeka Anyaoku's wife prepared Yoruba ewedu for him everyday as a Yoruba woman to develop his brain, that is why he is different from Nnamdi Cownu and Simon Ekpa.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla was raised with our Ewedu and gbegiri going to school at St. Annes Ibadan. Just like we raised her father in Ibadan.
You see most Igbo with anything to show were raised with our Ewedu.

CrimeCourt Sentences Lagos Teacher To Life Jail For Defiling School Pupil by MAYOWAAK(op): 5:25pm On Feb 14, 2023
A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, yesterday, sentenced a 41-year-old teacher, Chukwu Ndubuisi, to life imprisonment for defiling a six-year-old pupil of Mind Builders School, Lagos.

Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya sentenced Ndubuisi after finding him guilty of a one-count charge of child defilement filed against him by the Lagos State government.

The judge, who held that the prosecution had proved his case against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt, said the quality of evidence against the defendant was compelling.

Justice Ogunsanya held that the defendant usually sent the survivor’s friend to call her and that the first time the defendant defiled her was in the female toilet, adding that the second time was in the art room.

The judge said the survivor told the court that when the defendant is finished, he would clean up the survivor with tissue paper.

The court noted that the defendant had unhindered access to the child and defiled her several times.

Justice Ogunsanya discountenanced the evidence of two prosecution witnesses who are medical doctors for being contradictory, pointing out that they did not come as expert witnesses.

The court held that the account of the survivor and that of her mother was uncontroverted, and corroborated each other.

The judge also dismissed the submission by defence witnesses that the incident was not recorded on the school’s CCTV. She upheld the result of the test conducted at the Mirabel Centre, which showed that the survivor had torn hymen and reddish vulva and
that there was evidence of forceful penetration. She therefore convicted the defendant as charged.

The defendant’s counsel, Mr. O.C. Olagunju, who pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy, prayed that no case of improper behaviour has ever been brought against the defendant nor had he any case at any police station until this case.

But the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Jubril Kareem argued that the law under which the defendant was charged does not give the court any discretion.

He urged the court to impose the mandatory sentence stipulated in the law. Justice Ogunsanya subsequently sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment.

The convict (Ndubuisi) was the art teacher of the school as at June 2016 when the offence was committed.

He was arrested and initially arraigned before Ogudu Magistrate Court on a charge of forceful penetration.

He pleaded not guilty before his case was later transferred to High Court before Justice Ogunsanya, following advice by the Director of Public Prosecutions ( DPP).
The matter was later taken up by the State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).

No matter how you express your beef and anger against H.E Peter Obi there are facts you cannot change which include;

1. He ran the most secured state in Nigeria during his tenure. Former IGP Abubarkar gave him 5 years accollades of the most secured state back to back for 5 years.

2. The minister of works then gave him the best accolade of a governor that built 800km of road network in 8years over 230 roads

3. Educationally , He met Anambra at 26th position in 2006 and left it at 1st by 2014 when he was leaving.

4. He was the only governor that met the millennium development goal in Nigeria in both education and health. In fact , Milinda and bill gate foundation gave him a personal gift of 1 million dollar for his achievement. Which he dropped in the state account rather than putting in his own private account.

5. He is the only former governor today that does not collect pension, gratuity, land gift and allowances since he left the govt in 2014.

6. When he became SEC chairman under President Jonathan, he told SEC to hold back all his allowance and entitlement as a Board chairman . He left without nothing. He said he does not need them.

7. When he was chairman of fidelity bank , he was entitled to two brand new cars annually. He told the board. I don't need them. Let me just come for meetings and go home.

You can only be angry with him. You cannot change the facts.

Today was Obi’s last rally.

He should have held the rally in Anambra that will give the world the chance to see the miracle he claimed to have done in Anambra.

Peter Obi and his ObiDENTs should have danced from Agulu his home town to Awka or Onitsha to pepper us with the massive achievements of Obi.

But Obi knowing the whole world will see erosion infested Anambra dodged that ample opportunity.

The loser decided to use Tinubu’s Lagos to do his final campaign, if shamelessness was a person.

No wonder the mediocre couldn’t live in Anambra after his tenure, he ran to Lagos that a Governor like him developed.

Ask Peter Obi what is his achievement, with that his screeching voice he will say I built this and that in Anambra..

Mumu you made Anambra heaven yet ran to ikoyi, bought a house there and living the big boy life…

Any man that can’t use what he is selling shouldn’t be taken seriously, you did magic in Anambra yet since after your tenure you can’t spend more than 2weeks in your erosion and crime infested Anambra.

We the look you, few weeks time we will end your clownish ambition.

Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanacho is the first player to score a goal awarded by a video assistant referee (VAR) in competitive English football as Leicester beat Fleetwood Town 2–0 in the FA Cup third-round replay on 16 January 2018. Referee Jon Moss initially disallowed the goal for offside but he consulted with video official Mike Jones, who told him Nathan Pond's trailing foot was keeping Iheanacho onside. The goal was awarded 67 seconds after it hit the back of the net.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE LAGOS STATE ADMINISTRATOR GENERAL & PUBLIC TRUSTEES

1. Dear married couples, there is no such legal personality known as "Mr and Mrs Okoro". You can only have "Mr Kenneth Okoro" or "Mrs Patricia Okoro". You might just be creating a legal problem for yourselves when you use "Mr and Mrs Okoro" to buy those goods or properties.

2. Dear married couples (especially those who are married under the Act), all things been equal, it is advised that you change your next of kin to your spouse after wedding from your sibling or anybody else you used before wedding. Making your spouse your next of kin makes it easier for them to process any accrued benefit especially if either of you die intestate (without leaving a will).

3. Dear intending couples, there are only two types of marriages recognised in Nigeria;
a. Marriage under the Act (Matrimonial Causes Act and Marriage Act),

b. Marriage not under the Act (Marriage under Islamic Law and Marriage Under Customary Law).

The first is monogamous in nature while the latter is restricted polygamous and unrestricted polygamous in nature. For intending couples of the christian faith, there is no such thing as "church wedding". If your church is a "licensed place of worship", what they conduct there is a "Marriage under the Act". If your church is not a licensed place of worship and you only conducted customary marriage without going to the marriage registry, what they would have done in your church may just be a celebration and the blessing of your customary marriage.

If your church is a licensed place of worship, wedding in church and also going to the marriage registry are one and the same thing (Marriage Under the Act). Meaning a waste of resources and duplicity of purpose.

4. Dear Boyfriend and Girlfriend, promising your partner that you would marry them when you know you have no intention of doing so may give rise to a civil action of breach of promise to marry resulting in damages (compensation) and the restitution of all monies spent and gift given. It may also give rise to a criminal action of obtaining by false pretence.

--------------------------------------------

As an addendum or footnote to 1 above -
If you are really interested in buying a property as a couple then your names should appear in the agreement as Mr. Sunday
Essien and Mrs. Maria Essien instead of Mr and Mrs Sunday Essien.
