Late Keshi destroyed our national team with his mediocre ways of selecting players. EOD

First of all, which striker is better than Martins in that team? Pls, list them.

Secondly, you can't discard an inform player for young but inform player based on age. It doesn't work in football.

Thirdly, are Ighalo and Mikel playing in competitive league?

Fourthly, Martins played two qualifiers matches hence contributed to the qualification to the WC. Gbam!
Which qualifying match did he play? sad

Rijeka's Nigerian GK Nwolokor Tells Croatia: Pay Special Attention To Ndidi & Iwobi

Rijeka's Nigerian GK Nwolokor Tells Croatia: Pay Special Attention To Ndidi & Iwobi
Croatian-based Nigerian goalkeeper David Nwolokor has notified Croatia that they should be wary of Premier League stars, Arsenal's Alex Iwobi and Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi, when they clash with Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup.
Nwolokor has no caps for the senior national team of Nigeria, but claims he was invited for an international friendly with Egypt which was later cancelled by the Egypt Football Association.

''I'm unhappy that this call-up to the national team was not achieved, but I do not lose hope,'' said Nwolokor to sportske.jutarnji.hr.

''Alex Iwobi from Arsenal is a great player, 21 years old and I think he will show he does not play randomly in such a big club. But pay special attention to Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester, this World Cup, by the way, has enormous quality.

''Players like them are highly motivated, there's chemistry in the team and with the experience that Obi Mikel brings, Moses or Ighalo, the team can do great things.

''I think the 4-2 win against Argentina is the biggest warning to Croatia. Be assured, Nigeria will not be just be a passerby.''

The 21-year-old Nwolokor is the third choice goalkeeper at Croatian champions HNK Rijeka, he has not featured for the club in the league this season.

Rohr: Tough to select Nigeria’s final World Cup squad

It will be a tough task for the Nigeria coaching team to select their final squad for the World Cup, coach Gernot Rohr has told .com

The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland for Russia 2018.

With six months left to the start of the Mundial, Rohr says he will have a selection headache when the time comes to pick his team because he has a wealth of talent vying for final places in the squad.
“We have to be open to wonderful players who are very strong at their clubs. We have to hope that the players work very hard at their clubs because we will only see them again in March,” Rohr told .com.

“We will first have to do a list of 35 and later a list of 23. It will be difficult because I have good competition in all positions,” he said.

Russia 2018 World Cup: Good football not names will decide Group D’s fate — Moses

Chelsea wing- back Moses , a former England Under - 21 cap who chose to represent the land of his birth in 2012 , said , “ We keep getting Argentina for some reason .
“ We don’ t want to play against Messi , but it is what it is . We ’ ve got to go and play our football and see what happens .
“ After what Iceland did last year (beating England in the last 16 of the Euros ), football nowadays , there ’s no easy game.
“ Argentina are going to be scared of us as well .
“ It ’s all about football at the end of the day .
“ Everyone at Chelsea was saying we’ re going to get a thrashing and we’re not going to make it through the group stage .
“ Hopefully we can go out there and make the nation proud and get out of the group.”
Saturday ’ s win over Newcastle was Moses ’ s first start since limping out of the Premier League defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace in September with a hamstring injury.
And he made a triumphant return , setting up Alvaro Morata ’ s goal before later winning a penalty from which Eden Hazard sealed a 3 - 1 victory .
Speaking to the BBC , former Tottenham Hotspur star Garth Crooks said , “ I must say Chelsea look far more comfortable with Victor Moses back in the side . He not only provides them with far more options , but he can be quite lethal in the opposition’ s penalty area .
“ Of course , it took an Italian coach to work out that Moses had the potential to be one of the most effective wing- backs in the Premier League , leaving all the other coaches Moses has ever worked with looking rather embarrassed .
“ Moses has always been decent , but what Conte has done is convert an ordinary player into an outstanding one. What a pity more coaches can ’ t do the same .”

O pari master do we need to argue this i don't think so,am not disputing seeing rare gem in lower league but a good national team is made up of players playing in quality leagues.

I remember Rueben Agboola very well playing for Swansea in lower league then, hope you remember Emeka Ezeugu who made national team playing in India league,George Abbey playing in league two,Rasheed Yekini making the team playing for African sport, also Thompson Oliha playing in cote d voire for Asec,Gabriel Okolosi with African sport,Efetebore and Sam Sodje doing it in championship.

We have them like that but better to have your players in good league, this is why i always praised Westerhoff for showing Nigeria players way out to better league. He made sure Yekini moved to Europe cos he can't imagine Yekini playing in African league. He assisted players like Tijani to Roda JC,Finidi and Kanu to Ajax,Amokachie to club brugge,Okechukwu to Brondby in Denmark,Ben Iroha to Vitesse Arnhem,Friday Elaho to Brondby and find club for Emeka Ezeugu in Denmark from India.

He did this to boost the quality of his team cos good leagues will boost the national team output.Do you think beating Argentina can be done with bunch of players from lower league.
You guys have a funny thought process. Last two season, an unknown Leicester City came all the way from a lower League and broke the big teams in the EPL like they are nothing and won the Premier League like a boss.

If that is isn't a good lesson to you and the people from the same school of thought like yours that some Leagues maybe bigger than others, but quality players and a better team work is all you need to win, then I am afraid you are terribly bad with analysis.

So, Mikel, Echiejile, Ambrose, Onazi, Martins, Vicmo etc are not experienced?

And who una say Enyeama is clubless?

Enyeama is current training with his club.
The question shoud be is Echiejile, Akpeyi and their likes "experience" getting us the result we need ?

Another question, is the "experienced" players in good form /have a good playing time in their clubs?

Then lastly, do we have potentials for replacement of the tired/aged "experienced" ?

Do u seriously want to compare enyeama with any of those small Boyshuh

Once enyeama gets a club and comes to super eagles; he will be our undisputed first choice gk
What is stopping him from getting a club since he is so good ? Wasn't it the same Enyeama that stood at the post when Argentina hit us 3 :1 in a Friendly Match in 2011, later hit us 3 :2 in world cup 2014 group F.

Enyeama is not Buffon, you guys are making him look like he is one. Other countries are building a team that will last them for 5 to 6 years we are here trying to get all the tired legs back. For the fact that we qualified Without their experience proves that their experience is over hyped and also anybody can be good. Their big box of experience could not get them to quater final. I'm tired of us doing same thing over and over again regarless of the poor result.

I have always been dreaming of a day in the Super Eagles when Enyeama will not be too relivant to for us to taste new young talents. This rare opportunity will be a waste if we don't give these young talents the benefit of doubt they deserve.

Na so we waste the opportunity of having a player like Alaba in our team, though a different scenario. Catch them young and cap these this so called "small boys" now before it will b too late.

The Nigeria international midfielder is the highest ranked African on the list and is ahead of Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham
Wow, this is beautiful, it is a pity that Tammy Abraham is Going down will Swansea. England will not give him a second thought now that he isn't scoring. I really wished He made a wise decision by avoiding England.
