Most upcoming artistes fail to blow not by destiny or ill luck, but as a result of lack of priorities, styles and many more which we shall discuss. [ b] 1. They Don’t Advertise Themselves [/b] If you think miracle is all you need to blow, then you must be seriously sleeping on a moving bicycle. To blow in Nigeria, you have to advertise yourself aggressively and give it whatever it takes. 2. They Patronize Cheap Producers You need not sing like Michael Jackson before you blow. However, the impact of good production cannot be overemphasized anytime any day. Most upcoming artistes may not blow because they always patronize backyard producers who will produce 5 tracks for them at the rate of N10, 000. Ooooh common that ridiculously cheap !!. We know you are not rich yet! But at least, spending as little as N20, 000 to produce a single track is much more better than seeking producers who produce 5 tracks for N10, 000 3. Lack of Creativity What makes one stand out amongst his peers is creativity and uniqueness. However, many upcoming artistes fail to get to the peak of their dreams not because witches and wizards are following them, but because they are not creative in any way. 4. Pride Pride is also a determinant of how far one will go in his music career. However, it is very evident that it’s the habit of most upcoming artistes to always give people a false sense of their financial status through their dressings, spending and what not. They are sometimes proud that they raise shoulders to people who are meant to help or make their dreams come true in a little way they can. This is one of the reasons why many of them have failed to blow 5. Poor Dress Sense They say your appearance is the first letter of recommendation. The mode of dressing of many upcoming artistes is sometimes childish and annoying. You see many of them dressing like masquerades; looking unkempt, poor color combination, unattractive hairstyle, and many more which I cannot mention. The truth of the matter is that, when your appearance cannot catch people”s fancy, how do you convince them to listen to your track? 6. Immature Lyrics Good lyrics and punch lines is all you need to at least gain some recognition. When you listen to the songs of many upcoming artistes, you will keep wondering if the songs was composed within the ambit of 5mins. That is, they sing a chorus repeatedly for about three minutes after which a verse will follow suite and that’s the end of the song. Haba !!! It may be working for Wizkid but that doesn’t mean you should try that 7. Imitating The Style Of Others To succeed in life, you have to do something others are not doing, or what they have never done. As a matter of fact, we know that 2face already has his own style and that’s his brand, so why copy his style as a leverage to also get to limelight ?, when you know that you may be seen as a copy cat . Try to build up your own style. Like ![]() |

Google and Wikipedia are two very popular sites that a lot of people go to, to find the information or products that they are looking for. Despite being used for mostly the same reasons, there are fundamental differences between the two. Google is generally a search engine that indexes web sites around the world. Searches on Google would result in links to the most related sites. On the other hand, Wikipedia resembles more of an online encyclopedia. It contains collated information from contributors all around the world. Accuracy of the entered information is verified using a strict guideline and an army of dedicated volunteer editors, who look for incorrect information or intentional vandalisms and deal with them right away. Wikipedia stores all the information and images that are entered into its own database and you would not be able to it using any other site when the Wikipedia site is down. In comparison, most of the search results that appear when you search Google are from other websites; although some Google sites do appear when related to the query. If for any reason the Google site goes down, you may still be able to search for the Sites using another search engine like those provided by Bing, Yahoo, and the multitude of not so popular search engines. Since none of the links that Google presents is actually contained in their server, they have absolutely no control over the content of those websites. Although Google does have the ability to remove any site from their database, this would mean removing the entire site from Google searches and not the questionable content alone. With Wikipedia, any inappropriate content is easily scanned and removed since they have full control over the content. It is easier to compare these two to real world items that most people have already encountered. Google is more like a phonebook where you can look up the listed phone numbers. Wikipedia is more like an encyclopedia where you look up the particulars of a certain topic. Both provide information but not in the same way. Summary: 1. Google is a search engine while Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia 2. Most of the content found in Google is not hosted in Google servers while all of the content found in Wikipedia is hosted in Wikipedia servers 3. Google has no control over their content while Wikipedia can quickly sensor its content Source: http://www.differencebetween.net/technology/internet/difference-betweem-google-and-wikipedia/ |

Whether it’s the sweet perks, ulimited opportunities or management structure, there are some companies who just know how to take good care of their employees. Job community site Jobberman released a survey for Best Places to Work, which measured employee satisfaction, overall experience and commitment across employers in Nigeria. The 2013 Best Companies to Work rankings include 50 multinationals , 45 majorly Nigerian companies and 12 government agencies. https://jbng-blog.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/100bestdata.jpg To ascertain the companies that were the best places to work, conducted surveys of more than 10,000 employees in Nigeria. Over 5000 companies were submitted by 10,482 respondents (experienced, entry level and exec management). 89% of those who filled the survey were gainfully employed. Only companies with at least 100 full-time permanent employees were considered. The index was calculated by getting a weighted average of each recipient’s top 5 companies and dream company to work for. Recipients also selected workplace metrics that mattered to them in making these choices – Company Culture, Salary, Non-Salary Benefits, Proximity to Company Location, Prestige/Company Brand, Management Integrity and commitment to staff welfare. From the survey results, there is clearly hope for indigenous companies in the next few decades as they continue to grow and dominate the economic landscape amidst existence of established multinationals doing business in Nigeria. By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA – Indications that the incoming government of the General Mohammadu Buhari would deliver on its campaign promises emerged yesterday with China saying it would investment hugely in agriculture and social infrastructure in Nigeria. The investment promise was conveyed by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Gu Xiaojie to the president-elect yesterday when he paid a congratulatory visit to Buhari in Abuja. Buhari Addressing Journalists, Xiaoije who earlier held a closed door meeting with Buhari also pledged the cooperation of his country with the incoming government to foster a formidable relationship between Nigeria and China. He said: “Like I said China and Nigeria are going to further our cooperation. As part of our desire for collaboration with Nigeria I discussed with the President- elect on some of the potential areas of investment. We plan to invest in such areas like Agriculture, infrastructure and other projects that is tailored to impact positively on the lives of the people of Nigeria. “We came to present the best wishes and regards from our President and people of China to the President- elect. “I have also came to convey a message from the Chinese government that is ready to work with the incoming APC administration headed by Buhari to further improve on the existing strategic partnership between both countries. We want elevate our relations to a new height and develop it in a mutually beneficial manner base on what we have achieved in the past decades. In a similar development, the ambassadors of Isreal, Equatorial Guinea, Iran and Morocco who also visited Buhari and the Vice-President-elect, Professor Osinbajo pledged the support of their respective countries to Buhari’s government. For Morocco, the recent diplomatic row between it and Nigeria that resulted to the recalling of its ambassador to Nigeria was now a thing of the past. The Morrocan Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Mostafa Bouh, who spoke to newsmen shortly after his meeting with Buhari said his country was ready for a renewed relationship with Nigeria. “The new relations is for the good of both Morocco and Nigeria. I am here to give the President- elect a message from the King of Morocco. The message is for greetings and best wishes from Moroccan people.” On the diplomatic row that led to the withdrawal of Moroccan Head of Mission from Nigeria, the Ambassador said: “I believe that was in the past now, we are looking forward to the future now”. For Equatorial Guinea Ambassador, Nigeria has shown exemplary leadership in Africa with the conduct of the peaceful elections just as the Israeli Ambassador, Uriel Palti also expressed the readiness of his country to continue with the good relationship with Nigeria. “There is a kind of New Democratic inspiration in Nigeria and all over Africa. The people of Isreal congratulate the president-elect and the Vice President-elect. We hope to continue with the great relationship between Nigeria and Isreal. “We discussed the need to continue with the good relationship between the two countries. We didn’t go into specific areas,” he said - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/china-isreal-equatorial-guinea-iran-morocco-to-support-buhari-govt/ |

By Ben Agande, Abuja. The Federal government on Wednesday clarified that the dinner being organised for the president elect on May 28 is not meant to be for a formal handover to president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, noting that the May 29th hand-over date remains sacrosanct. Making the clarification Wednesday, Minister of Information, Patricia Akwashiki, said the dinner would still be hosted by Jonathan for Buhari on May 28. She hinted that the president-elect may be honoured with an award during the dinner. According to the minister, all hand over briefs being coordinated by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim would be ready by May 28. She assured contractors that there entitlements would be settled noting that if there had been any slowing down of projects by contractors, it could only be a result of non assent to the 2015 budget, and not because of fears of revocation. On the sacking of Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, just a few weeks to the hand over date, Akwashiki said it remained the prerogative of the President to take such decision and he had done what he felt should be done. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/jonathan-to-hand-over-on-may-29th-fg/#sthash.tIPa5Igj.dpuf |

A former Vice President and chieftain of the All progressives Congress, APC, Atiku Abubakar, has denied knowledge of the groups of politicians who announced their defection to the PDP from the APC. Atiku said in a statement by his media office in Abuja that he remains a committed member of the APC and urged that the purported defections of these groups be discountenanced. A total of 120 so-called pro-Atiku support groups on Tuesday defected from the APC to the PDP. They dumped the APC for the ruling PDP at an elaborate ceremony held at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja. However, in a reaction, Turaki Vanguard, the umbrella group of Mr. Atiku’s supporters said members of the 120 groups were not supporters of the former vice president. The National Publicity Secretary of Turaki Vanguard, Soji Bamidele, told PREMIUM TIMES that the defectors were not Mr. Atiku’s loyalists as they claimed. “They are faceless groups, we don’t know them,” he said. Mr. Bamidele, who confirmed that Mr. Atiku was being wooed back into the party, said the former vice president “is not shifting ground and will never go back to the PDP”. Mr. Atiku was a member of the PDP before decamping to the APC in 2014. He however failed to pick the presidential ticket of the party, losing to Muhammadu Buhari, who is flying the party’s ticket in the March 28 presidential election. While the groups were being received at the Yar’Adua centre, Atiku was attending a meeting with Mr. Buhari and media representatives. Peter Ogar, national coordinator of Renaissance for Socio-political Transformation of Nigeria, who spoke on behalf of the groups, said they decided to return to the PDP as there was no alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan. He said after critically analysing the president’s development programmes, the groups came to the conclusion that they surpassed all those executed by previous governments in the country. “We have understood the event of December 10, 2014, wherein our able leader, the Turakin Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was, through a gang up, denied us and indeed Nigerians the chance to have a true option in the forthcoming presidential election,” Mr. Ogar said. “Accordingly, we had to take time to analyse the inner workings of the current administration under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and came to the conclusion that outside the Turaki, there is no better candidate within any opposition political party, hence the need for a rethink and strategic political repositioning for the sake of our great country, Nigeria.” Receiving the defectors, the National Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, assured them that they were now in the right party. “Today, you have decided to return, you have equal rights with any other member of the party who have been there for a long time,” Mr. Secondus said. “You are free to engage in any party activities especially at this time when we are campaigning and election coming on the 28th. “There would have been no better time for you to show and to declare your support for the party and our candidate, Jonathan. The rally point today is Jonathan; he is the symbol of Nigerian unity.” http://www.saharareporters.com/2015/03/18/atiku-disowns-120-groups-defecting-pdp |

Dear Madam First Lady: I Lack The Patience To Wait For Good Luck! I am almajiri because I am from the North and one of the products of the Polygamous family, if you “hate” me, you don’t have to wait to a moment that your husband needs my vote before you come with your pretense. I knew long ago that the killings in my region were allowed to be because, you don’t like my face. So, hold it, you don’t have to tell anyone to “stone” me because of my political party affiliation, you can use the soldiers to continue to kill me when they come to polling units, on the basis that “Nigeria’s economy is in your pocket”. You are intoxicated not from the amount of beer your husband drinks, but for the power that you are enjoying. Painfully, for all your utterances recently, you have killed your husband politically. Yours, Almajiri (#myvotemyright) http://saharareporters.com/2015/03/11/almajiri-writes-letter-first-lady-patience-jonathan |
