Reno I am shocked at this attempt to tarnish igbo while brushing up your people. Let me wait for you to do an article 'Yorubas should stop seeing Igbos as swindlers´. You counted two brave Yoruba men. Try doing the same for brave igbo men. You may start from bottom up with Nnamdi Kanu. If Ojukwu and Azikiwe do not meet your standard for bravery, perhaps Brig. Adebayo s conduct during the counter coup crisis does. That was the last straw that caused the war. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Traumatized Nigerian Doctor Shares His Experience With A Ghost by Mbediogu(m): 3:59pm On May 28, 2017 |
duketunde: "I encountered the ghost of a dead woman yesterday night/early hours of this morning. Remembering it still sends chills across my body. Personally, I don't believe in ghosts. I know that it is appointed unto men once to die, and after that, judgment follows. I said let me tell you, to hear your opinion. I don't know who else to confide in about this. I'm a doctor. I can't be telling stories about ghosts online. No one will believe it. I'll sound insane.
Yesterday night that brought in today, I took call for a colleague who was having menstrual pain. She begged me to do the call for her. Then, a woman was brought in with what I suspected to be post surgical sepsis. The op site was soaked with effluent from the wound. The surgery was done at State Specialist Hospital three days prior to presenting to us. Her temperature read "Hi" on the thermometer, which means her body was so hot that the thermometer could not record it. I called my seniors who were in theatre then, told them what I have with me in the emergency, and I took instructions from them. I secured IV access. I gave 2g of IV cefriaxone (Rocephin brand) stat, and IV Flagyl 500mg stat. She was going. I called my seniors again and told them temperature is not coming down after one hour. I was told to give IV PCM 600mg stat. I then reopened the wound, washed with NS, and redressed with savlon and povidone iodine.
She was a Yoruba Christian. She was praying, holding my hands, saying that I should not let her die, that she still has little children at home. She then started behaving abnormally, talking irrationally and screaming, also convulsing intermittently. At this point, I called a senior who came in, assessed her and told me privately that she won't make it. He told me to continue masterly activity which I did.
She finally died after few hours she was brought in. I certified her dead in her file, disconnected all life support, and went to my house to sleep around 3am when the call got less busy. I was weak and sad. Did you know, this woman followed me home. I was shocked when I felt there was someone looking at me from my window. My body was shaking. I've never believed in ghosts, but she came to my window and stood there, with same clothes she was wearing when she was brought in. She said why did I allow her to die. I was lost for words for a moment, thinking I was dreaming. But damn, it wasn't a dream. I just drank coke from the fridge few minutes ago. I rebuked her in Jesus' name, telling her I did my best. I told her to go back to where she came from. She stood there for a while, looking at me, then turned and walked away. I heard her footsteps as she walked away. I didn't sleep again till morning. I opened the fridge and took out coke and drank, to be sure I was not dreaming, then started praying in tongues to control the fear in my heart."
What can be a reasonable explanation for this?

neolboy: A civil servant in Kogi, Mrs Husseina Mohammed has returned the sum N1, 780,500 paid in excess of her March salary to the coffers of the state government.
Mohammed said this on Friday in Lokoja while on a courtesy visit to the Director – General, Bureau of Information and Grassrrots Mobilisation, Alhaji Abdulkareem Abdulamlik .
She said that she received an alert from her bank in the afternoon of May 21 and discovered that a huge sum had been credited in her favour.
Mohammed said that she immediately called the attention of her husband to the development and a decision was taken to return the money to the coffers of the government.
The civil servant, who works at the state Teaching Service Commission, said she started the process of returning the money back to government on May 22, saying that the money was paid into the government account with the Lokoja branch of the Zenith Bank Plc.
She then handed over the bank teller and other documents used in paying back the money into the government bank account to the Director General Mohammed praised Gov. Yahaya Bello for paying her salary up till March, 2017, saying that she was not in any way affected by just concluded staff screening and verification exercise.
She, however, pleaded with the state government to reciprocate her good gesture by paying the outstanding 15 month salary arrears of her husband, Mr Yakubu Mohammed.
The civil servant said that the salary of her husband was being withheld for the discrepancy in his age declaration, saying that the discrepancy had since been rectified. In his response, the Director- General commended Mohammed for her honesty.
He said with people like her in the society, Nigeria was sure of winning the ongoing war against corruption.
The Director -General urged other civil servants and residents of the state to emulate Mrs. Mohammed.
He said that her good conduct would not go unrewarded, adding that her exemplary conduct would be recorded for generation yet unborn to learn and emulate.
Abdulmalik also reiterated the resolve of Gov. Yahaya Bello to carry the restructuring of the state civil service to the end.
Source:http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/05/kogi-civil-servant-returns-n1-7mln-paid-excess-salary/ it is better she returned it because the mistake would have been found during reconciliation returns since it was bank payment, and traced. Her case would have been worse. Good soft landing. |

Before an election, thieves, tugs and criminals are selected from slums, police cells, streets etc. They are brain washed, trained, indoctrinated, armed and released to the public by desperate politicians. After an electoral victory, the rigging touts are compensated according to their levels and achievements in their LGAs. The elite among them are employed by government, given contracts etc. The dregs are taken to motor packs as managers or shown to markets and streets yo collect money from traders, wheel barrow pushers, trucks and vans. They charge what they want and don't issue receipts. It happens all over the state and is a fall out compensation to electoral thugs. May the poor girl RIP. I am really in tears for her. |
