A Nigerian citizen, Joseph Adumukwe, was in 2008, roasted alive on fire by the Gabonese Police for an offence he never committed. It was indicated that the Gabonese Government, reacting to the mounting pressures from civil society, accepted to negotiate with the Nigerian authorities and resolve that crisis peacefully, but the Nigerian Government never indicated interest. It was said that a Nigerian Delegation from Gabon was at Abuja penultimate week to protest the plan by the Gabonese Government to deport all Nigerian citizens in Gabon, both those with legal resident and others in December 2010 without being found to have committed any crime. “The dehumanization of Nigerians in Diaspora has become rampant in Asia, Europe, America, Australia and other African countries whose citizens and businesses in Nigeria are protected by the government, but Nigerians have remained victims of arbitrary arrest, illegal detention, torture, deportation, discrimination, illegal and extra-judicial killing, etc” Ibuchukwu lamented. The Executive Director emphasized that the time has come for the government to transform its foreign policy to protect Nigerian citizens in Diaspora. He asserted that over the years the government has embarked on charity policies in the international arena, making life difficult for Nigerians in foreign countries. Meanwhile the CLO has written to the Federal Government and the German authorities over the racist attack on Moyo. The organization also enjoined President Goodluck Jonathan to set up strong mechanisms to handle cases of abuse and dehumanization of Nigerians in foreign countries.

How many Nigerians has a voters registration card? How many will not convert the election day to a holiday? How many will go to the polling booth and wait for the votes to be counted? BOGOTA, Colombia – A Boeing 737 jetliner carrying 131 people crashed in a thunderstorm and broke into three pieces as it slid onto the runway on a Colombian island on Monday. The region's governor said it was a miracle that only one person died. Colombian Air Force Col. David Barrero said officials were investigating reports the plane had been hit by lightning before crashing at 1:49 a.m. (3:49 a.m. EDT; 0649 GMT) on San Andres Island, a resort area of 78,000 people about 120 miles (190 kilometers) east of the Nicaraguan coast. San Andres Gov. Pedro Gallardo said 125 passengers and six crew members had been aboard Aires Flight 8520, but the only person killed was Amar Fernandez de Barreto, 68. "It was a miracle and we have to give thanks to God," that only one person died, said Gov. Pedro Gallardo. Officials said 119 people were treated or checked at local clinics and five of them were seriously injured. The state government said in an e-mail that passengers aboard the plane that left Bogota about midnight included eight U.S. citizens and four Brazilians. They were not identified. Passengers said the pilot had announced an impending landing and all seemed normal as the plane descended through rain and lightning. But suddenly it hit short and then slid onto the runway on its belly as the fuselage fractured. It wound up on one end of the runway, crumpled and in pieces, as passengers scrambled or were helped to safety. Firefighters quickly doused the beginnings of a fire on a wing, said police Gen. Orlando Paez. Ninety-nine passengers were taken to the Amor de Patria Hospital on San Andres, said the hospital director, Dr. Robert Sanchez.
