The usual ''beautiful'' but inactive statement,it seems this statement has always been typed and saved, just needed to to change the date whenever there are issues and print and read out to his subjects. Was it not the same statement read out about 6 months ago when hundreds of Nigerians including Youth Corps members were butchered in cold blood? Was it not the same statement that was issued after the October 1 bombing (though by a different water tap not the current water tap called Reuben Abati)

Not that it matters, but GEJ's use of the English language is very surprising for a PhD holder. Perhaps his words are not being transcribed properly.
Nothing to do with transcription. His use of English language is hugely appalling.you just have a general idea of what he is talking about but you can't make any sense of the specifics.

The president who also spoke on corruption said the administration is serious in the fight against corruption, saying “some corrupt practices we must stop it. There must be drastic changes.”

Am i the only person who found this part of the speech funny?
How is he going to select which of the corrupt practices to stop and which to continue?
Has a presidential panel being set up for that purpose?
funny clowns!!

Ah, I totally forgot hospitals.
Who said anything about government hospitals? Some private hospitals are equally terrible. And I'm not referring to the 'roadside' hospitals.
I have one in mind: Premier Specialists, on Ogalade Close, in VI. Apparently they discriminate between cash-paying patients and HMO patients.
To the point where they have separate waiting rooms for both categories of clients.
I was there sick once, and they kept me waiting for five hours. They said the doctors were having a meeting shocked shocked shocked shocked I eventually left and went to Reddington as a paying patient.
would have been funny if it wasn't true.
meetings where they spend most of the time discussing the private details of their high networth patients.
Had a friend who practised there for a few years.

I had one of such experiences from a hospital too.I nagged the HMO until they issued a warning to the hospital and addressed my greviances.

better striker? no
better future? yes.
welbeck is a local boy. raised in manchester and he's an english player.
kiko will return home one day, welbeck will be in england forever so i can understand fergie doing all his possible best to safeguard welbeck's future.

macheda was also the academy player of the year in his debut season.
he finished as the highest goal scorer for the under 18 that season as well. . . .
kai, you are such a hard case.

welbeck graduated from the united academy and fergie overrates him so highly. i remember fergie boasting few years ago he's confident welbeck would go to the last world cup for england. he played welbeck in high profile games then and the striker did nothing with his chances.
kiko's record for man utd's under18 and reserves is far better than welbeck. . . .and have you forgotten his clinical goals in the pre-season?
welbeck is not the sliced bread that fergie claims but he is a better striker and has a better future at united than kiko.
please post the records of both in the youth and reserve teams.
Welbeck was the player of the year in the reserve team the year before he went to Sunderland,so he can't be as bad as you claim.
Welbeck has had chances where he did not perform but that has also been the case with Kiko.
you talk like Welbeck has not scored in pre season games.

it's a unfortunate we under estimate the effects of poor customer service, , and that's why I for one appreciate this thread.

Customers that have had a bad experience in a field, usually are scared to go that path, or simply traumatized by the experience that they wouldn't want to give it a second chance, unless it's overly necessary.

how do we expect to migrate to virtual world like every other developed nation, when we can't even get it right with physical contacts,
our acceptance of poor customer service is a product of laziness and an acceptance of the norm.
we are just too lazy to seek alternatives.we'll rather shop at the corner shop even when the shop owner treats us like dirt rather than walk a few blocks down.
We must learn to vote with our feet and pockets.
Imagine a friend whose 6pm Air Nigeria flight to Abuja from lagos left around 1.00am in the morning (that is not a typo) still using Air Nigeria simply because they have a ticketing office in his office building? They literally had to fightthe entire Air Nigeria hierarchy before that flight left and there was no proper explanation nor apology.

forget the virtual world here.our level of literacy and cash based economy makes that a world away for us.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Premier League Champions 2010/11 by mbulela: 8:18am On Aug 24, 2011
Danny Welbeck will not be the number 1 striker at united anytime in his career but at this present time,he has done way better than kiko in realising the potential they both have.
Kiko has been living on the hype of that villa goal for years.
Danny has so much more to his all round game than kiko and even as a goal scorer in the youth and reserve teams i doubt Kiko has a record that puts Danny to shame.

This case is beyond Salami being right nor wrong.
I could not care less for that.
I am more worried at a NJC that ignores court oreders, dodges being served court papers and acts like a lawless mafia.
How can any sane person have hope in such a judicial system?
This is the reason why people resort to extra judicial processes and things like assasination remain rampant in our society.
TV/Movies › Re: A New Nollywood; Is Nollywood Getting Any Better? by mbulela: 7:54am On Aug 24, 2011
better productions, better picture qualities but same old silly scripts and even worse acting from non-actors.
genuinely talented kids are graduating from theatre arts every year from our universities, can't get roles and they end up in banks and insurance firms.
yet fair skinned girls with relatively large bosoms are embarrasing themselves on our screens in the name of acting and we fete them as celebrities.
Nollywood can do so much better.

because welbeck scored last night automatically puts him ahead of macheda in development? dang it!
the same welbeck was shyte for one hour. . . .his ball retention is abysmal. he gave the ball away more times than any player on the pitch. the goal buoyed his confidence and by then tottenham had surrendered.

even before macheda went on loan. macheda could retain the ball.
kiko was a pure finisher. his passes are tidy, he retains the ball well and without him, united were on the brink of a massive defeat against villa last season at villa park! macheda brings the continental style of play into the team. welbeck is a typical english striker. . .all brawns, less brains.

macheda has always delivered when put in action. . . . . .i wouldn't blame him for the ones he failed to influence because in most of those games, the general performance have been appalling. whenever macheda gets the quality service, he puts the ball in the net or creates a sweet assist. he was instrumental to the nani chip of gomez 2 seasons ago at old trafford when united were chasing chelsea in the title race.

not in a million years. . . .at best he would be number 3(same as macheda though).
i am not convinced one is better than the other at this stage - i don't buy into the welbeck hype like skysports have been doing all day.
When i saw that bold part, i realised you have been joking all along.
Welbeck is not a typical english striker by any stretch of the word.

I went to the Oceanic bank branch in Ikoyi opposite Toyota car dealership. I went to pay my Aero ticket. This chic kept me in front of her for over 30mins while she read "Open Heavens". She was busy underlining and highlighting while i stood there. After a while, i asked her what the delay was. Without even raising her head, she told me that the site was down maybe another branch would have a good link. I raised my voice and very loudly asked her why she could not have said so earlier but kept me standing there. Seems like she realized herself and started being apologetic. What are these young ladies coming to? Seems like even basic courtesy is lacking in their dictionaries.
When next you have an experience like this, find out her name and make it known here.

semid4lyfe:
Hmmm. . , .haven't seen the movie but from the little I've seen from the trailer, it's a substandard movie and the acting was definitely not it. ie The scenes where the fat white boy was making fun of Genevieve's son, the fight between them, where Genevieve's son was slapped in the Market in Gambia etc all looked fake and unconvincing to me cry

Hell, even Aki's ''false'' bad tooth & dentition looked totally ridiculous and laughable to me. . . result of bad make-up IMO. Only thing real and convincing to me (from the trailer) was Genevieve's crying and tears and that ain't surprising as na Nollywood actress she be grin

All in all, the trailer does not inspire and motivate me to go watch it @ the Cinema or buy it when it's released on DVD. . .and this is what a trailer is supposed to do

Lastly, why did Obi Emelonye write, direct and produce the movie? Does he have a problem with the concepts of ''division of labour'' and ''professionalism''? sad

As far as me dey concerned, na typical Nollywood movie shot (in London & Gambia) with high-definition equipments and made with better technology than most Nollywood productions but the acting and performances get big comma

Nothing spectacular about the movie and it's definitely not worth a visit to the cinema is my humble opinion

Oya, make una begin bash me, label me unpatriotic and dey call me names tongue
it is amazing how you have not watched the movie but your conclusions are so apt.
i have not seen a movie (either nollywood or foreign) in a while and decided to see one at the cinema.chose a MIRROR BOY and it was 120 mins of my life that i can never regain again.
I was completely gutted.
Genevive must have been blckmailed into acting in that movie.

It is one thing to staff call centers with customer reps,it is another thing to support them with the right technology. *I am looking at you, mobile operators*
it is as frustrating to these reps as it is for customers for them to contend with erratic links, long queue due to bottle necks and poor interfaces.

Customers must learn to vote with their feet.
