some say shark swallowed jonah while others say fish swallowed jonah. where is the emphasy here? we all have to first of all agree that there was a swallow and that jonah was involved. i love this quote. one of my favourites. |
his poor performance so far has made KK and D1 look so good. he should retrace his steps but more than that, he needs to return back to Joice his previous manager. that lady was the glue. |
na woman go kill Nduka. maybe he has gotten tired of flying unilag undergrads to london and joburg for sexcapades ![]() for me the more important case is how he is funding all these endless concerts around the globe? i don do small maths for the matter, the P & L no add up. the more i suspect something fishy, the more concerts he announces. |
texazzpete:stick to things you are sure of. this is partly untrue. 3G- yes. broadband - big NO. besides it is no big deal at all. there is crime everywhere. i mean everywhere. there are parts of london i can't venture into once it is dark and there are hoods i will not party in, in the UK(just using the UK as an example) but the problem of SA is the violence of the crime. it is senseless and incomparable. but the women are something else sha ![]() but not enough compensation. |
GSM operator, Zain Nigeria, may soon face another re-branding challenge in the wake of serious talks between its parent company, Kuwaiti Zain Group and French telecom firm, Vivendi, to buy the African operations of the Zain Group. SFR is a 56 percent subsidiary of Vivendi, the second-largest telecommunications operator in France. In 2008, SFR finalised its merger with Neuf Cegetel, thus creating the second-ranking global operator in France. With 19.7 million mobile customers and 3.9 million high-speed Internet customers, the new SFR – created from the merger between SFR and Neuf Cegetel – is the leading alternative mobile and fixed-line operator in Europe, offering solutions tailored to the needs of individuals, companies and operators. This new arrangement will be a driving force in terms of innovation, development of new services, convergent solutions and deployment of very-high-speed fixed-line (fibre-optic) and mobile (3G+) networks to better serve consumers. As the owner of its network infrastructure and with the benefit of expertise in the Internet, it has all the necessary resources to develop its leadership in terms of innovation and quality of service. Maroc Telecom is a 53 percent subsidiary of Vivendi, with operations covering mobile, fixed-line and Internet access services. Listed on the Casablanca and Paris stock exchanges, Maroc Telecom also holds 51 percent of the historical operators of Mauritania (Mauritel), Burkina Faso (Onatel) and Gabon (Gabon Telecom). The Group is firmly committed to international development and is currently established in six countries. Groupe Canal+, a 100 percent Vivendi subsidiary, the largest French premium and theme channels producer and paid TV offerings distributor, with 10.6 million subscribers; it is also a major player in France and Europe in film production and distribution. Zain Nigeria, which had in the past seven years being owned by different operators and had changed names severally, transformed from Econet, Vodacom, V-mobile, Celtel to Zain. Celtel was founded by Sudanese-born Mo Ibrahim in 1998 and sold to Kuwait’s MTC (now Zain) in April 2005 for $3.4 billion. Zain is waiting for reply from the French company, this week, and if the deal isn’t settled it will study bids made by other companies. No reason was given for why Zain is looking to sell the African division. The Kuwait based network operates in 16 African countries and seven in the Middle East. Its African operations comprise Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Sierra-Leone, Malawi, Chad, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Madagascar, Kenya, Uganda, Niger, and Gabon, among others. If the ongoing talks to sell Zain’s Africa operations succeed, indications are that the brand name will change. This may have particularly far reaching effects for the network in its Nigeria operations as it has re-branded too many times. |
it seems he is still undecided on the distribution. i wonder if anyone has seen the cds with the traffic hawkers? i called motherlan' and they said i should come to opebi to grab copies. some people are so scared of alaba guys!!! but there is no alternative at present. |

We have all it takes and we're going for it!" Also, founder of Africa Fashion Week and Africa Fashion Awards Precious Moloi-Motsepe said: "Our goal is to promote and recognize the best of African fashion talent on a global scale and the ARISE Africa Fashion Awards is a further step towards fulfilment of this goal." i guess a clarification is necessary. Zain is selling its entire African operation in 16 countries and this covers 65% of its customers. so it is not a Zain Nigeria affair. the Nigerian board are handicapped unless they can come up with 12billion US dollars. they obviously will not sell the Nigerian operation separately as it contributes 40.4% of the Zain Africa's subscriber base. if they remove Zain Nigeria, the worth of the African operations will be largely diluted.this is inspite of the ineptitude of the Nigerian board and management. i personally doubt the intention to sell will go through.just my thoughts anyway. to all those castigating Zain group, but for their massive injection of funds since their acquisition of Celtel, the Nigerian operation would have been struggled to gain the number of subs it has gained in the last 12 months. |

debosky (m) Wytch Farm Posts: 13355 Online Re: I Am Done With Intituitionalized Christianity, Would Stop Attending "church" « #12 on: Yesterday at 02:00:08 PM » The church as it stands now is imperfect, but I still feel it has the mandate of Christ at its heart. I see one of your main hang ups is with church buildings and pastor devotion. These are issues alright, but removing yourself leaves you prone to failure - do not neglect fellowship of believers. If the church was perfect, the bible wouldn't have to talk about supporters of Paul and Apollos, or the people getting drunk, or fighting over positions as the sons of Zebedee did, or the marginalisation of some widows in church distributions. Listen - there will be issues with the church as humans have limited understanding and personal failings. Unless the church(es) you mention are not at all aware of where they should be headed or their flaws, then there is no reason to leave them. My advice would be to maintain fellowship but refuse to be engaged in anything that is against your spirit/understanding. Stay blessed. gbam. |
such an educating thread. my appreciation goes to each and every contributor on this thread. in the midst of all the mundane stuff we read and contribute to on this forum, it is refreshing to be a part of such an enlightening topic. some points; i hope TBK and co will address the pessimism of Azigiza? a pessimism which i share a bit of. on the issue of IBTC-Stanbic, it is so obvious that they are one back that the 25mil cap did more harm than good to. from a strategic hindsight view (every one has a degree in hindsight, i even have a PH.D in it!!), the universal banking thing has horribly diluted the IBTC brand.from my little interactions at a there branches late last year, i even feel that their organisational culture has been affected. maybe a better idea would have been keeping the two commercial banks they acquired as a subsidiary of IBTC, while the parent body remains in the niche market it is known for. to go full circle, they bit the bullet called standard bank (stanbic) believing that it will give them the financial muscle to battle the commercial bank giants on thier own turf.the problem is that battling those guys takes more than money.will IBTC-stanbic be willing to do some of the things those guys are doing to maintain their position?stanbic will frown at some of the practices (but they are what bring results here) and IBTC is not even used to such in the past.so you begin to wonder ![]() anyway, i believe that intelligent and experienced pros like Atedo Peterside and the lady that is their DMD are too smart not to have an ace up their sleeve. |

IFELEKE (m) From The Hood That Is MisunderStood. Posts: 1311 Offline Re: Gov Amaechi Doing Great Works In Rivers State « #42 on: April 15, 2009, 04:13 PM » Quote from: texazzpete on April 15, 2009, 03:48 PM Let's give kudos to a step in the right direction. while i do not subscribe to the 'Rome was not built in a day, so Nigeria cannot be developed rapidly' theory, it's hard not to realise that he could just as well have eaten ALL the money without doing anything and no-one would have done anything to him. I can use Lucky Igbinedion as an example of someone who did nothing. Till today, he walks the streets with impunity! Tex, What Step In the Right Direction are you talking about? You mean we should applaud this bastards for stealing and robbing it on our faces? I once had a discussion with an uncle on the de merits of the military era and he uttered a statemant I would never forget while comparing past rulers of a state, He said and I quote ''Onyearugbulem is a thief too but he stole and executed some projected to cover for his theft, that is the kind of leader we should Hope for right now'' That statement captures the mentality of an average Nigerian and It's really Bad. We don't really need to settle for anything less by trying to bring out any good in these Looters. As for Igbinedion, I remembered the Elder Igbinedion telling the Critics of his Son during his re election campaign that ''When A Pikin Fail For School No Be to Repeat Be The Next Thing?'' unfortunately, i agree with your uncle. the Nigerian political terrain is such that we can only aspire for that first before getting to the stage where we get saints in govt. if only our leaders will thief a little while carrying out projects that are well thought out, impacting on the masses and maintenance friendly. for all the good works Fashola is doing, do you think he is not enriching himself in anyway? he obviously is but the fact is that he does not spend his nights thinking up schemes to rape the state treasury and execute phony projects.he thinks of ways and means of bettering the lives of lagosians. the financial trappings of his office is just a by product. the problem we have is thta the polity is polluted and saturated by thieves and dullards.whose only intelligence is just to steal and steal. if for all the money the crooks in national assembly are stealing in the name of salary, they do something tangible, the matter will be different. instead all they do is arrange girls and indulge in orgies while sharing our money. anyone who thinks that we will suddenly have saints is deceiving himself and being unnecessarily idealistic. on the case of Ameachi, i just hope the projects are such that they will be easily maintained. that thief called odili bought buses and taxis but where are they now ![]() it is easy building fine hospital buildings, the matter is to not only equip them but empower the doctors to man them. last year, the NYSC doctors manning health centers were not paid for 11 months.the boys and girls simply abandoned the fine buildings and entered town to do PP to make ends meet. as it concerns his subordinates, he needs to lay down the law and stick to it.there are too many sycophants and inept individuals around him. finally, he should make up his mind on his intentions on that eliozu-rukpokwu axis.is the govt buying over the area or not?asking people to stay action on devt is taking too long. i wish him the best. |

Who killed our democracy? It is a fallacy that we ever had one. so you can't kill what never lived. |
audio:Lalaboi, i have joined the camp of those who are suprised by your comments on this. by the way, this same sentiments was raised by someone on NOTJUSTOK about Kel and naija female MCs in general yesterday. the bottom like is that it is fake and photocopy will never be as big as an original.there is no use trying. lalaboi, are you trying to tell me that in order to fit in to the system in the UK, you formed an accent as soon as you arrived there? or you will support someone to do same? real fact is that this artistes are not going to crack the american market (not for a lack of ability).Nigeria and africa is big and vast enough. pronounce your words clearly, speak naturally, dope beats, tight production and top notch lyrics and loads of local flavour. with the above, why should the sky be your limit?? the fact that you must sound american simply because you are doing hip hop is crap and myopic in my view. in my view, it potrays a complex and an insecurity. it goes for M.I, Kemistry (don't tell me anything about her leaving abroad for a while.that accent no be am at all), Kel and sasha. i accpet that p2 were not guilty in that video but i have seen them do it several other times and it sucks.mixing yankee accent with a thick igbo accent |
i always wonder why people fall for all this scams?? i have never been tempted and hopefully never will be. as a rule, i never do any financial transaction on the internet.never ever. |
The dust raised by reports that a cook with the Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has stolen the governor’s N400m seems to be settling as two bank managers have owned up to have carried out the fraudulent transaction through their banks. For their roles in the illegal transaction, the Branch Manager of Finbank Plc, Mr. Oyeneye Ogundele, and the Branch Manager, Intercontinental Bank Plc, Abeokuta, Mr. Olayiwola Akinyemi, are to be charged for fraudulent bank transaction. Parading the four suspects in connection with the controversial transfer of the N400m in Abeokuta on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Mr. Hashimu Argungu, alleged that Ogundele, Akinyemi and the Account Manager of the cook, Mr. Moshood Obasa, colluded to fraudulently transfer N400m, whose owner was not known. The police commissioner explained that the suspects claimed that they did not intend to steal the huge sum but to make up their bank accounts. “They have colluded to defraud even though there was no physical cash to steal. So, for using somebody’s accounts illegally, we are charging them to court for fraudulent bank transaction. “When they get to court they will explain their roles in the illegal transaction,” he said. The cook, Mr. Tope Kujenya, claimed he was not aware that his account manager and the bank managers made any transaction through his account in Finbank. Ogundele and Akinyemi said they only transferred the money to create a book impression that their banks were doing well. “It is not a case of stealing money. We call this swap draft. The money is not there to steal. It is not strange though we did not contact the account owner before we carried out the transfer,” the bank managers said. They claimed they had been doing similar transaction for a long time but denied that they had an intention to steal the money or defraud the account holder. |
$osisi, i expected more from you in particular. this thread is for fun purposes. just read laff and move on. the lies on this thread can reignite hell itself. why bother?? how people boost their self esteem on the internet despspite the anonymity of the web beats me. let them continue buying and spraying.maybe it will lift the world economy from its present recession.who knows ![]() |

nobody plays instruments again. everything is computer generated now and instruments are not even needed for live shows around here. i will suggest you go learn how to master beats in the studio. instruments are so past it. ![]() |
maybe because i have seen some gud stage performances in my short time.performances where the songs do not sound exactly like the versions on the CD, the artiste take out a word or add two and at the end leave you with an experience. that might be why i am not too keen on this miming, instrumentals - voice on top stuff. the excuse of time does not hold much water because i have seen personal shows of these artistes and it is not any different. no need calling names again but seen the guys we are discussing singing for over 30 mins, yet it is voice over an instrumental. haba!!! i see that some people are okay with it. this has just been an oppurtunity for those of us who are not, to air our views and recognise those who go the extra mile and do not see the paying audience as fools. to Tosin and co, i bet you if you have a night of 9ice and some comedian (maybe basket),just the two of performing at the show, 9ice (or insert any of the others) will still sing over an instrumental CD and be doing that lame 'put your hands up in the air' stunts. |

It's funny 'cause I just finished listening to Stan, I knew the beat was familiar. I know Eminem is good but I never thought any so called black rapper would try to imitate him, like the difference is clear. LMAO. The girl tried a little, wouldn't say the white girl in Eminem's song had such a WONDERFUL voice, it just blended well. poor video from that guy, poor voice, what's with the whole entourage and the way he moves?. Lawdy Lord!!
