nex:gbam. three gbosas for you!! |
i am tired of repeating myself on this matter. anyone who believes amnesty will solve the ND issue is deluded and of all men to be most pitied. the govt will go ahead with this.not because they care for the resolution of the matter but because in the cause of the sharing, their will be a looting bazaar.such expenditures are not probable because they are security related issues. i don tire. |
this whole thing is pure and plain criminality. the only ideology these militants know is money. all the major militants in ND are better off financially and physically than they were 5 or 6 years ago. go and figure. fighting for a just cause my foot!!! |
Ibime:This was made known to newsmen by Chief Mediator of MEND and other militant groups in the amnesty discussion, Prince Joseph Etella Harry. |
i am still looking for a rich Nigerian who can come to equity with clean hands. if you see or know of one, please let me know. when you read their interviews, they will attribute it to God's grace, hard work and intelligence. all lies. |
raymond dokpesi has messed up. he should never hadve replied to that article. i was actually under the impression that that story was made up. he has confirmed the text, ignored all the allegations in the text and the article (meaning they are not lies) and finally he has confirmed my fears that his empire is crumbling and that he dines with evil men (Ibori and Odili). hence he has no right to provide unbiased media report. shame on you. |
well i said it earlier. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=301136.msg4274565#msg4274565 i sincerely hope i am not being vindicated. ABUJA — THE Move ment for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and other militants are asking that the Federal Government should add to their term of amnesty, payment of N300,000 per AK-47 rifle and two magazines returned. MEND is also asking that each member of its members be built a three bedroom apartment of relatively good comfort, but would pay back for the house in ten years. This was made known to newsmen by Chief Mediator of MEND and other militant groups in the amnesty discussion, Prince Joseph Etella Harry. Harry is a nephew of the slain Marshal Harry. “Sequel to our tenable negations with commanders of militants involved, the right and realistic approach is the irrevocable recovery of arms obtained illegally. “To completely and permanently resolved the crisis in the Niger Delta, the following terms must be unequivocally ascertained”, he said. “The FG shall pay N300,000 per an AK47 and two magazines. “The Federal Government shall construct sustainable three bedroom flats at low cost. The buildings which must be constructed in their places of choice within the Niger Delta, shall be exclusively for militants and sundry youths who shall undertake to pay the cost due within ten years.” According to him, the MEND and other “generals” in other camps have promised to surrender not less that 10,000 arms within the first phase of the amnesty if there demands are reached. “With this in mind, we want about N3 billion transferred to us, through our management”, he said. According to him, the militants have also agreed to free seven oil wells, in the first one week, if government agrees to the terms Harry who later hosted some of the “generals” to a dinner in Abuja, said that most of the militants find it hard to trust mediators, but that he has been working with them for long, trying to bring peace in the region, like his late Uncle, Marshal Harry. He said that within one month, if the FG puts efforts at meeting these demands, “the war would be over for ever” MEND not interested in meeting Yar’Adua Meanwhile, MEND has said it is not interested in face-to-face talks with President Umaru Yar’Adua, as long as he takes appropriate decisions that will lead to the resolution of the Niger-Delta crisis. Also, the group’s leader, Henry Okah, has met with the former Chief of General Staff; Admiral Mike Akhigbe to persuade him to be part of the militant group’s negotiating team. Already, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger-Delta, Mr. Timi Alaibe, is said to have met with the leader of MEND, Henry Okah and other key figures in the militant group to chart a way forward. Spokesman of MEND, Jomo Gbomo, in an exclusive e-mail response to an inquiry by Vanguard, however, said “We (MEND) are still consulting and hope that before the expiration of the 60-day ceasefire, the team can discuss with the President’s envoy.” His words, “We are not interested in any direct talks with the President. There are some of us that crave such meetings and those are in the minority and they are doing so for selfish monetary gains. As long as the President gets our message from Timi Alaibe or from the pages of newspapers, meeting him is not as important as the actions he takes to bring about the change every Nigerian now craves for, such as fiscal federalism”. He nevertheless said, “The Aaron team has not been put in place, but we are already making progress in taking a common position on the demands to be made”. He confirmed that Henry Okah had met with the former Chief of General Staff, Admiral Mike Akhigbe Okah and others, adding, “We are also intime”. On Timi Alaibe, he asserted that the special adiviser “is now in touch with some key figures and he has met with Henry Okah from what we gather”. NDDC urges miltants to embrace amnesty The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on its part appealed to militants to embrace the amnesty offer by the Federal Government. Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Mr. Power Aginighan, who made the appeal yesterday in Port Harcourt during the commissioning of a health centre built and furnished by the Commission for Tereama community, Port Harcourt, said militants should see the amnesty offer as an opportunity for them to be properly reintegrated into society so they could also be active players in the drive to develop the region. Aginighan who blamed some of the conflicts and tension in the region on the failure of some firms operating in the region to effectively discharge their social responsibility to their host communities said as an institution, the NDDC was ready to go into meaningful partnership for the development of the area. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/08/04/amnesty-militants-demand-n3bn-for-arms/ |

eleshin:[/b]did you have to type that in bold?or are you just trying to attract attention? since you criticise properly, the deduction will be that you are a extremely intelligent? I simply showed up a fault in the video and in my opinion, it limited the flow of the video. their is no fault in that view and opinion. seeing faults in differing opinions simply because they do not tally with yours is simply myopic. less prejudice?? i wonder how you arrived at that conclusion. |
how can enter the place win the best video award when the collaborator was not present in the video?? |
i wish to repeat a statement i have repeated on different sites on the issue of Dora Akunyili. 'this is what you get when you mix ignorance and passion. A very potent but destructive potion'. This woman is ignorant but passionate. She will talk until she gets into irreversible trouble. Her best bet is to walk away while she still has a bit of honour left. |
Omni potent One, the source of all potency, wisdom and mercy;i give you praise. I commit my life into your hands this new week and month. encompass me round about with a thorn bush that i may not stray from your path. I bow at your feet, gracious one. |

By Collins Edomaruse, 08.02.2009 Six months after the last presidential election in Ghana, the country’s former leader, Jerry Rawlings, has credited the success of the poll to President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s persistent pressure on former president John Kuffuor of Ghana to allow the electoral commission declare the authentic winner. Rawlings in an interview published in a Weekly newspaper, THE GHANAIAN DEMOCRAT, of July 8 -15, said: “By the way, we claim to be the ‘Gateway’ but don’t be surprised if Nigeria ends up as the destination, as they claim. It is important to keep in mind that it was partly Nigeria’s intervention under President Yar’Adua’s leadership that pulled the plug on Kuffuor and Nana Addo’s intended adventure; not the Western powers, some of whom urged on the NPP’s electoral fraud and theft in 2004. But for General Sarki Muktar (Yar‘Adua’s National Security Adviser)’s timely visit, we may very well be mourning and licking our wounds by now”. The last December’s election in the country was running into some hitches after a clear winner did not emerge between the candidate of the then ruling party, Nana Addo and the opposition party’s candidate, Prof. John Atta-Mills after the first ballot. This warranted a run-off that saw the latter emerging victorious. THISDAY checks at the diplomatic circle revealed at the weekend that after the first ballot and there were fears that crisis was looming with the two leading parties accusing each other of electoral malpractices, Yar’Adua who feared that it would be catastrophic if Ghana’s democratic process was disrupted in any manner immediately commenced diplomatic moves to stem the tide. A top diplomat, who was involved in the negotiations said the world may never realise the “intense but quiet diplomacy” adopted by Yar’Adua to ensure the wishes of Ghanaian electorate were respected. The source further said: “Even though Yar’Adua was neutral, he initially had sympathy for Nana Addo, John Kufour’s candidate for the election but after the first ballot, which Addo won narrowly, Yar’Adua, who had sent Muktah as a roving special emissary, got reports that the first ballot was marred by malpractices. “He also got reports that Kuffuor’s candidate, Addo, notwithstanding his earlier marginal lead, would find it difficult to win the run-off without manipulation by Kuffuor, who was determined to install his successor,” the source said. Speaking on the stunt Yar’Adua pulled on Kuffuor with whom he maintains a strong personal relationship, the source said: “The President invited Kufur to Abuja where he pleaded with him to allow a free and fair process so that he would not leave the country he had governed so well in crisis.” THISDAY further gathered that having sensed the “genuine” intermediary role of the Nigerian leader in the poll, Ghana’s opposition community jumped into the boat to urge him on. “When the Ghanaian opposition led by Rawlings (whose former deputy, Atta-Mills was the candidate) saw the genuine intermediary role Yar’Adua was playing, they reached out to him on the eve of the election run-off when it had become almost clear that Atta-Mills would win and there were plans to rig the election for Addo since the polls were very close. “It was at this point Yar’Adua again sent the NSA again to Kuffuor, who gave his word that he would not tamper with the polls. And he kept his word,” the source added. In December 2008, 8.2 million Ghanaians went to the polls to elect a president and members of parliament. The four major political parties contested the elections vigorously through massive grassroots efforts and voter registration campaigns. The candidate of the National Democratic Congress, Professor John Atta-Mills, defeated former President Kuffuor’s candidate, Addo, by a razor thin margin in a run-off election. Kuffuor not only conceded defeat gracefully, he also cordially congratulated the president-elect and attended the swearing-in ceremony. Ghanaian voters also threw out of office well-known incumbent parliamentarians from the four major parties who had taken them for granted. In the end, all of the opposition parties accepted the results of the election as determined by Ghana’s Electoral Commission. |
I have taken it upon myself to advertise this blog. i have no clue who the blogger is but in my opinion it is one of the best (best i have read) on Nigerian music. unfortunately, traffic and comments are below the quality of the guy (or gal)'s write ups. if you know the person, tell him he should keep up the good work. here is a link to what i call a critical review of Illbliss' album.please check it out. http://9jahiphop..com/2009/07/reviewably-incorrect-dat-ibo-boy.html |
any concrete proof that this is the man in question? we seem to be giving too much respect to the Nigerian police in this case. Knowing them, this might be an accused criminal that might have been awaiting trial for the last 6 years, they just dragged him to the back of the prison and riddled bullets all over his body and presented it to the press.case closed. sorry, but i have no iota of respect nor trust in the Nigerian police and by extension the Nigerian state. Besides, the speed with which he was caught and killed was too fast, considering the ineptitude of the police. meanwhile, Yar Adua is reciting some crap speech, he does not understand the contents nor believes in, while sipping tea and posing for pictures. |
Akunyili Defends N8.2bn NTA Contract From Juliana Taiwo in Abuja, 08.01.2009 Following criticisms that trailed the approval of N8.2 billion to Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) by the Federal Executive Council for the upgrade of its equipment for the U-17 World Cup Championship, Nigeria 2009, the Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili has insisted that she followed due process in the contract award. Akunyili described as unfortunate the media war targeted at her person since the award of the contract. The minister said during the visit of the chairman and board members of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) led by Engr. Chief Benson Abuonu that the bid for the contract was advertised and passed through the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the contract papers scrutinised by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) before approval was given. Akunyili maintained that with or without the World Cup, facilities at the NTA needed to be upgraded to meet up with the 2012 digitisation deadline given by the Federal Government and advised her attackers to stop maligning her person. The minister stated that if NTA gets the hosting right of the U-17 World Cup, there would be the need to collaborate with AIT and other broadcast stations for the successful coverage of the event. Akunyili promised to ensure that the contract repayment schedule of 27 months would be realised before channelling her efforts on to the completion of the NTA corporate Headquarters. Earlier in his remarks, Engr. Benson Abuonu, the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) thanked the minister for helping the board to secure FEC approval for the upgrading of the facilities of the NTA with the hope of meeting the digitisation deadline of June 20, 2012 set by the Federal Government. Abuonu assured Akunyili of the board’s preparedness to work hard to ensure that Nigerians get quality coverage and solicited her support in ensuring that the completion of the NTA Corporate Headquarters is listed in the 2010 budget. The board chairman disclosed that NTA planned to embark on a 24-hour news network service immediately after the digitisation process, which according to him would also help in disseminating the rebranding message faster. |
fyneguy:guy stop encouraging mediocrity. there is no strategy there. this is simply a product of planlessness. besides the video being all over the place and having no synergy with the song, the song is already a classic and i doubt anyone who has not heard or bought the album will do so now. he should concentrate on a new album and when he does videos, try making videos that enhance not detract from his songs. all these aimless bling bling videos no be am. |

a few points; using Mr Subair as a reference of authenticity is an exhibition of ignorance.which Subair?the one responsible for this crap called Koko Mansion? what makes him unable to perpetuate the fraud in question? eho the heck is Subair? in a country where presidents and senators tell bare faced lies. if their was such a link up by Subair, why did they not do a proper song and record it together? why did tuface not try to do a video for that song with Kelly (don't tell me anything about tight schedules)? what the heck do you want to achieve with that pic? do you want me to post a pics i had with two english premiership footballers for you and then o ahead to claim that we have an arrangement to open a football academy in Ajegunle? have you seen the pictures on Thisday website that Beyonce took with Tinubu's wife?you think Beyonce has a clue who she is? why did tuface call that song a duet on his album sleeve? have you actually listened to that song on his album? everything about it is crap. did he really need to do this? i am uninterested in citypeople article.it is obvious that song is no duet with Rkelly. what is the definition of a duet? that is the crux of the matter. |
