I stayed in Ekosodin for 4 years. (2008-2012). I didn't have any bad experience. Maybe it was because I stayed in a notorious -jaga jaga- hostel called american embassy. In those days, if you're in a viewing centre, you mind who you engage in an argument. I remember one guy stopped me one day in front of Amega hostel, I just said "bros, I be your boy o, na american embassy I dey stay" and that was enough to let me go.
Baba I got into Amega Home in '09... Eko jungle is indeed a place to be in. Spent 5yrs there. Will later talk about my experience.

RIP to the people who died searching for job. I have always wondered why ABBA MORO was not sacked for such gross negligence and lack of organisation. Having said that, many people who went for that job test were not unemployed They were either underemployed or they had jobs that were paying well but were too demanding. The needed govt jobs that would be less demanding. For instance, I know people working in the banks that went for the test.

Bros, people should stop looking for govt jobs. Where I live, artisans -plumbers, builders, mechanics, etc make the most money- not civil servants. Govt did not stop anybody from from learning to be a plumber.

I lived and worked in Nigeria for many years. In the course of my job, I lived in each of the 6 geo-political zoness at one time or the other. I am sympathetic(not neccesarily supporting him) to GEJ because of the absence of a credible alternative. Buhari is not an alternative. He is part of the old brigade that put Nigeria in the pit. He represents retrogression. I was a kid when he was head of state and he did not perform. The coup he led took us back many years. Besides he rose to political fame through his support for Sharia. So, he is not patriotic but is just a desperately ambitious man. Forget all these rebranding. He represents no change.
Seriously if you want to get answers, walk up to the street and ask an average man. We are all tired of GEJ, if you think Buhari was bad, then I guess the reality that will hit you when you return to Nigeria will make you gasp for breath.

I am Efik by tribe, but raised in Benin; one would expect that naturally i'll fall in line with those screaming "it's our turn", but my dear, it is time to show Patriotism. PDP destroyed Nigeria. Changing "devils" isn't a bad idea, so long we don't keep one "devil" forever.

You are wrong. Government create the enabling environment for the private sector to privide jobs. The only job government provides is civil service jobs. And everybody cannot work in the civil service. I live in one of the best countries in the world. The city where I live has been serially rated the world's most liveable city in the liveability index. And you know what, there are still jobless and homeless people roaming its streets. Some people just refuse to work.

Get cracking, find something doing. Get your hands soiled. If you keep waiting for government you'll always be disappointed.

Have you noticed that you are making more sense now that your comments are less abusive? Keep it up.
So you live in one of the "A" rated countries. Little wonder your support for Jonathan. Bro why not come back home and get your hands "soiled" as you earlier mentioned; then you'll understand that there have been persons not just soiling hands but swimming in swam.

And you mentioned enabling environment...thanks for that. You really expect a man that doesn't see stealing as corruption to create an enabling environment. Those persons that died and those still dieing in search for job won't be in such predicament if there was an enabling environment.

Unfortunately for you, no President will solve every problem in Nigeria and no President has ever solved them. When your god, Buhari, criminally ruled Nigeria for 20 months, he only increased our yokes. That was when manufacturing began to take flight in Nigeria.

Keep complaining. Don't go and find something to do. Brilliant minds have been exploring different opportunities found in the country. I hope you know of YouWin programme. People like you will sit in your house and complain that it is fraud while the smart ones are tasking their brains to produce winning entries. I know of at least five young guys that have been set up by YouWin. And they knew nobody in government-not even at the local government level. I helped two to work on their proposals. These guys give us hope of a greater tomorrow. Not perpetual murmurers and complainers.
Atleast instead of feeding fat on billions and flying around unnecessarily, my clueless president can save up and pay jobless youths like me( according to you) stipends as it is being done in other sane countries that are not as rich as we are or can't your President do that?

Cybertooth:
22 REASONS WHY BUHARI CAN NEVER
RULE NIGERIA
Originally By: Kekere ekun and Co.
In my books, Buhari is a pretentious anti-
corruption fighter. The trajectory of a
man's journey in public life matters. For
the follwoing reasons I can not vote for
Buhari
1. He is an oligarch who does not believe in
equality before the law. The way he jailed
Lateef Jakande, Jim Nwobodo, Ambrose
Ali, Pa Adekunle Ajasin, Chief Ayo
Ojewumi on cases that had no foundation
and allowed Awwal Ibrahim, the then Niger
State governor, who was arrested in
Heathrow Airport in London with 14 million
pounds sterling and several millions of
Niara and dollars to be under house arrest
is my evidence. He also allowed Shehu
Kangiwa, Sokoto State Governor who
conducted and supervised the famous
Bakolori Massacre of poor peasant
farmers whose land were appropriated
without compesation to remain under
house arrest.
1(a) Ayo Ojewumi became blind as a result
of his imprisonment over false charges and
died shortly after.
1 (b) Prof. Ambrose Alli also became blind
as a result of this false imprisonment.
When he died, he had only one
undeveloped plot of land to his name.
1© Pa Adekule Ajasin was never the same
after his eventual release and remained
sickly for the rest of his life. Whe he
died, he never had any property anywhere
in the world except the one he had built
from his sweat as long term teacher and
school principal in Owo township.
2. He put in place a retroactive law that
killed three men, innocent men in my book,
by public execution. He left untouched an
alleged well known drug baron in Ibrahim
Babangida who later overthrew his
government.
3. He jailed Ndukar Irabor and Tunde
Thompson of the Guardian on stories that
were factually true under Decree 4. He
had told the Nigerian journalists then that
it did not matter whether the story
reported was true or not, if his regime did
not like it, the writer would go to jail.
4. He supervised the smuggling of 53
suitcases filled with cash througth the
MMA against the protests of General
Tunde Idiagbon and ironically, Abubakar
Atiku, the then Director General of the
Customs who later became the Vice
President and a compromised politician
himself. This smuggling of the suit cases
were supervised by his ADC, Col. Mustapha
Jokolo.
5. He jailed Fela Anikulapo -Kuti on
trumped up charges under emergency law
which prompted the sentencing judge to
confess that he was ordered to do so and
apologised to the late musician. It was
Buhari's administration that said it has
"decided to deal with this Fela problem
once and for all."
6. He convinced all the northern political
leaders against allowing the National
Identity Card program because according
to him, this would unravel the myth of
Northern population majority
7. He is an Islamic fundamentalist, the Bin
Laden of Nigeria, who told his northern
followers never to vote for anyone who
was not a muslim.
8. He is a coup plotter.
9. He has never been able to account to
Nigerians what he did with the 20 billion
Naira of the Petroleum Trust Fund of
which he was the chairman under Sani
Abacha.
9(a) He has not been able to point to any
project that he prosecuted outside the
Northern Nigeria with the so-caled trust
fund.
10. He was in full support of all the
atrocities of Sani Abacha against the
Nigerian people. There is no single record
of his criticism of Sani Abacha during
those dark days when Nigeria was on
precipice. It shows that he is a patriot of
convenience and as such unfit to lead the
country.
11. Buhari, as part of his tribalistic
practices placed President Shagari under
house arrest inside a palatia mansion in
Ikoyi while he locked up Shagari's Vice,
Alex Ekwueme in Kirikiri Prison. Shagari is
Hausa/Fulani like him while Alex Ekwueme
is an Igboman.
12. Ikemba Emeka Ojukwu, another
Igboman who returned from 13years exile
just a little over a year then was as well
locked up in Kiri Kiri Prison by
meanhearted Buhari.Up till today we are
not told what was Emeka's offence.
13. Busari Adelakun died of ulcer because
Buhari refused him to be taken out of
prison for immediate medical
attention.The then Governor of Ogun
State,Bisi Onabanjo suffered similar fate
which we were told led to his untimely
death.
14. Buhari ransacked the house of our late
sage, Obafemi Awolowo and confisticated
his International passport. Which civilized
democratic society would elect the likes of
Buhari as President,the same individual
who overthrew an elected President?
Never!
15. Plus Buhari having Sam Mbakwe in jail,
went for one of Mbakwe's wives. He
established himself again for what he
was/is letting Mbakwe receive in jailhouse
news of the death of another of
Mbakwe's two wives. One (I can't
remember his name now; Odenigbo?) also
died in jail.
16. Buhari's henchman and sponsor, CPC
governorship candidate for Kano State, is
Mohammed Abacha, the same person that
had/ran a personal killing squad, co
ordinated the killing of Kudirat Abiola &
attempted to kill Ibru; and also stashed
money in underground tanks, all less than
13 years ago, Nigerians have very short
selective memory. Shame!
17. Buhari discriminated against persons
from other ethnic groups/faiths; and that
as PTF Chairman, he employed an
overwhelming number of Fulani/Hausa/
Moslem people at the detriment of other
groups and concentrated PTF projects in
the North. If in doubt read El Rufai's
testimony where he wrote about Katsina
boys who used the money they made at
PTF to bankroll Yar'Adua's election in
1999.
18. Buhari is unforgiven. When he "took
over" by coup in 1983, even remembered
an article written a very very long time ago
by Bisi Onabanjo ('The Mallams are
coming') and a later one in which Onabanjo
wrote that people should watch out for
that "gangly officer from the north"
after Buhari gave a no holds barred
speech at some Army function where he
was reported to be very openly pro Fulani
and pro Islam to the exclusive of all else
and also talked about termination of
democratic rule. For that, Onabanjo got
one of the harshest jail terms and
treatments.
19. Buhari intolerance is worse than
Obasanjo's. When he was adopted as the
ANPP's candidate on the night of the
party's Primaries without prior warning to
the other candidates and a few of them
protested, Buhari got up and made a
speech that those people must be
disciplined. I subsequently saw him on
BBC's "hard talk" and he frightened me
and the interviewer with his archaic and
fundamentalist intolerant views. His
understanding and articulation is very
much in doubt.
20. The evil genius, IBB and his crew
similarly ran rings around Buhari. On the
10th anniversary of Abacha's demise,
Buhari said that Abacha stole nothing
from Nigeria! Despite millions of Dollars
recovered from banks around the world
and the Abacha family signing a formal
agreement to return over $1 billion dollars,
Buhari still said that Abacha's stealing
remains an unproved allegation!!!! Why?
Because Abacha set Buhari up like an
emperor and let him use oil money from
the Niger Delta to develop the North
without supervision or questions.
21. Buhari snubbed the same Nigerians he
now wants their votes by refusing to
appear before Justice Oputa Truth and
Reconciliation Panel. Despite the fact that
Buhari knew how inportant reconciliation is
to the stability of democracy. Buhari has
never apologised at anytime.
22. Buhari executed Lawal Ojuolape (30),
Bernard Ogedengbe (29) and Bartholomew
Owoh (26). To put it quite plainly, one of
those three – Ogedengbe - was executed
for a crime that did not carry a capital
forfeit at the time it was committed. and
At the time Ogedengbe committed the
crime it did not carry that punishment. If
we must live as civilised citizens we must
go by the rules. Article 11.2 of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
reads: "No one shall be held guilty of any
penal offence on account of any act or
omission WHICH DID NOT CONSTITUTE
A PENAL OFFENCE, under national or
international law at the time when it was
committed. NOR SHALL A HEAVIER
PUNISHMENT BE IMPOSED THAN THE
ONE THAT WAS APPLICABLE AT THE
TIME THE PENAL OFFENCE WAS
COMMITTED. Killing people with
retroactive laws is not the civilised thing
to do - and for as long as we will have
people who refuse to see the truth only
because their heroes are inching to rule
when they have not purged themselves we
will continue to wallow in misery.
If Nigerians reward dangerous, insensitive,
dishonest, mean, cruel, partial, egoistic,
religious, fundamendalist, conscienceless
human being like MOHAMMADU BUHARI
with the presidency of Nigeria with his
kind of track record, then why do we still
wonder why Nigeria has not and will not
make it?
I can not in good conscience support
Buhari's candidacy on the above grounds.
I wish we have intelligent people who know
what democracy means. I wish we have
civilized minds. However, I am 100 percent
sure that Buhari will never again rule
Nigeria.
For the good of Nigeria, vote any other

candidate, but SAY NO TO BUHARI!!!
After all said, the good people of Nigeria have forgiven him(that is if he ever wronged us) but GEJ's cluelessness we will never forgive. Many of our brothers have lost their lives up north cos of his poor decisions and the four other Presidents OBJ mentioned are not helping matters.

Buhari supporters' trademark: ABUSE ABUSE AND ABUSE. So your problem now is Jonathan's daughter's wedding. Apart from the fact that dignitaries attended the wedding what made it flamboyant? Any average business man at Alaba can spend more than whatever. The real cost of governance during Buhari's time is unquantifiable. It is in the mono rail that Lagos State does not have today. it is in the wonderful works of Mbakwe in Imo State that he truncated. It is in the development foundation laid in the old Bendel State (Edo and Delta) by Ambrose Alli that he messed up. Buhari arrested Nigeria's development if you don't know. You need to learn how to argue and make your point reasonably. Look for where you can vent your pent up frustrations. Ask your local government chairman and your governor what they have done (or are doing) with your money. They are closer to you than the President.

VIOLENT AND ABUSIVE language can only increase your frustrations.
witt
My dear i'd let my response be short and witty. Go ask the victims of Bokoharam and the families of the slain victims of immigration scam to find a bucket to weep and vent their anger since Federal Govt isn't the number 1 person in charge of our welfare any longer.

I see how much GEJ's six year rule have achieved- creating minds bereft of the feelings of real Nigerians on the streets.

Tell GEJ to go to Borno and ask the people to vent their anger on their L.G Chairman.

Some of you Buhari brigade members seem to be allergic to politeness. The presidency has many departments. Jonathan did not start it. Even when you god, Buhari, was in Dodan Barracks, there were many departments under his office. he had a 2iC (who had aides), he also had his own aides and he had departments that he wanted to oversee directly for optimal performance. The overall budget of all those units and departments is the budget of the presidency.

Is it huge? Yes it is and something should be don about it. If you looked at the budgets of 2013, 2014 and 2015, you will notice that the money allocated to the presidency is reducing. We will want it to reduce more. That is how it should be. If you argue this way, it is what we call constructive criticism. But if you come and make claims like the cost of the president's daughters' wedding blablabla which you do not know anything about and who even funded it, then, that is irresponsibility.

Learn to argue like a mature person. it's a virtue, not a vice.
You must be senile for you to tell me reference to Jonathan's daughter's flamboyant wedding makes my argument less reasonable. In a country where Polythenic students spent months in their houses and security operatives keep complaining of poor funding.

By the way can do you really want to compare the cost of governance during Buhari's regime to what we have now? With a petroleum minister spending what is enough to put up a refinery for jets and travels?

Pls before you sit to comment of my politeness next time, do realize that many of us are very emotional about our coward and are pained seeing the mess it is right now. Unlike the paid Okupe's that just come out and insult our sensibilities.

SH will always sound alarmist, just to tar the president in bad paint. And the anti-GEJ brigade will amplify it. Nobody will even care to understand what a trade in is. As you explained, trading in an old aircraft for a new one is generally cheaper in the long run than to keep maintaining the old one. On the basis of that, this transaction can not be considered a waste--unless there is more to it than we are being told.

None will even read this story to see that in the budgetary allocation for food in the presidency has decreased considerably. I bet you tomorrow, someone will write in Nairaland that the presidency spends N1bn on food. Many of them will not also care to know that a lot of departments are under the presidency. To them, presidency is just the president and vice president.

Having said that, the cost of governance is huge in our country--at every level. A lot of waste that would have been channeled into better things.
Y the many departments in President's house, na so Obama get many departments? Most of you supporting GEJ don't know how senile you sound.

Most persons are not sure of surviving tomorrow(security gbege) let alone know what to eat next, yet a president eats 1billion naira. And yes did you see how much was spent on the President's daughter's wedding? Come tell me say the wedding get differnt departments na. Mtwee!
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan To Buy New Executive Jet by mcquin(m): 8:18am On Dec 24, 2014
FrankC3:
From this article, despite frantic efforts by SH to sound alarmist, it is still very clear that no new jet is being purchased, rather a trade in is being done for one of the available jets. For those who know, in such procurements, manufacturer trade in could be aimed at achieving sustained warranty support, equipment and spare parts availability and to save money in the long run. It is often more expensive to maintain an older model of a product than to trade it in for a new one with better features. That is part of why firms change even official cars after 3 years most times.

Is the size of the Nigeriam Government large, yes! Is this particular procurement a wastage, we do not have enough information to say yet. During budget defence, the leader of Presidential Airfleet will be on ground to present his reasons and APC NASS members will have their chance to engage in logic and not all this emotional outburst by farmiliar handles on NL.
Guy Jonathan na your papa? You mean we shouldn't go emotional when people are homeless and dieing of hunger?

Now if APC rejects this, you all PDP supporters will rush to your phone's and type here that APC is anti-government. By the way do APC have to counter this before GEJ uses his numb skull to know this is not what we want now.

I feel like weeping. Some day Nigeria will get through. But when that time comes let us not forget the true enemies of Nigeria that supported this corrupt, routeless government.

God bless Yar'Adua.

God bless Nigeria.

hansad:
List of those who do not believe that President Jonathan is governing Nigeria well: 1, those who unleash violene coloured by religion against Nigeria. 2, those who foolishly believe that their tribesman shall be made Vice President under Buhari president, so that when old Buhari cannot finish eight years in office, their tribesman VP shall automatically become president. But little do they know that in a circumstance of Buhari or any other born to rule president leaving office, born to rule must insist to complete eight years. And after that eight years, becoming president becomes survival of the fittest. 3, the talakawas of far north deceived since 599 BC by their leaders to believe that their reward is in the next world, not on this earth. 4, those who do not understand that those wrecking violence on Nigeria do so to cow Nigerians to submission, in order to vote out the incumbent govt, and vote in those who have similar aspirations to have Nigeria be governed by extreme Islamic sharia laws. 5, those who do not believe that the present govt had since despatched the best of soldiers and weapons Nigeria can afford to stop the insurgents. 6, ethnic/religious bigots who do not believ that someone from a minority tribe or from outside their religion is fit to preside over Nigeria.
Sorry but what you have said still doesn't mean Jonathan is working. You've only shown that you are more ethnically biased than anyone here. We are talking GEJ's poor performance and your thinking is North's born to rule mentality problem.

I'm thus guessing that if APGA or even APC had produced a candidate from south, you would have as such seen the evil in GEJ right? Now who really is ethnically biased.

I'm from Cross River but i'm first a Nigerian. Mo cop do?
PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Situation. by mcquin(m): 9:32am On Dec 01, 2014
It is quite pathetic. PDP is a cancer to this nation. They thrive on tribal and religious politics, thus further widening the divide.

But what we have failed to see is, there are only two sides in this war. Not PDP v APC but the MASSES/ORDINARY NIGERIANS v. the POLITICIANS.

We can start by changing our attitude and approach to life and our nation. Whether Ibo,Yoruba,Hausa, your birth place is Nigeria.
RomanceRe: Guys, Do You Cry When A Lady Break Your Heart by mcquin(m): 8:33pm On Nov 29, 2014
Personally I don't think any guy should shed a tear. It is very normal to be emotionally down when a girl hurts you but if you cry over a lady, what will you do when you lose the all-important-woman (mumsi)?

When a guy cries, it becomes a constant reminder of what happened. For me I just get me some Kendrick Lamar, Drizzy sh*t! Music is spiritual and as such can't get you off dah "I'm a looser" feeling.

And for guys that actually do weep, if she's worth it, go ahead. I guess i'm emotionally too weak to let a girl mesmerize with ma feelings.

I love this idea. @ OP kudos.

I really wish the Federal govt can stubble on this.

I also want to appreciate nairalanders for looking beyond ethnicity and religion for once and given tangible advice.

Although I am anti-pdp cause they brought all this upon the us, I think constructive criticism is the way to
PoliticsRe: Don't You Forsee An Evolution Or Break-up Soon In Nigeria?? by mcquin(m): 7:19am On Nov 24, 2014
This petting of SE, SS is way too much. For me they should be given the BIAFRA they so crave for, that is if within the Biafra, new calls for another division won't crop up. Well that is not my problem.

Truth be told,if Nigeria gives up on wooing S.E, they might no longer even feel like leaving anymore. Like a lady that has fallen for a guy but keeps pushing him away.

In any case their continuous threat now seems more of a blackmail and no longer inreresting. Make them waka.

And this is an Efik man talking. If you wan argue my place of origin, like many would love to do, you can do that.

So if you wan waka Mbok Woroh!
