Controversial Nigerian pastor in Durban, South Africa, Tim Omotoso of the Jesus Dominion International is been declared wanted by the country’s police for allegedly abusing young girls at his Umhlanga home. According to South African Broadcasting Corporation 3, SABC3’s Special Assignment, Omotoso allegedly handpicked the girls and instructed them to live in his house where they were forced to have unprotected sex with him. The Police Spokesperson, Lt-Col Robert Netshiunda, said Omotoso had gone underground and all three cell phones linked to him had been deactivated. “We are investigating the matter and we will only lay charges after getting him,” Netshiunda said. The Nigerian pastor allegedly molested more than 30 young girls on the pretext of rescuing them from drugs. Some of the girls had reportedly dropped out of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, while others began travelling while singing for the pastor’s group, known as Simply Christolite. Bishop Vusi Dube of the National Interfaith Council of South Africa said he had always had reservations about the way Omotoso conducted himself. Dube said, “I challenge all honest Nigerian pastors to condemn this. If they don’t, there will be assumptions that they have no problem with this behaviour.” http://dailypost.ng/2017/04/20/nigerian-pastor-allegedly-abused-30-girls-sexually-south-africa/

Nigeria is fantastically corrupt |
I have travelled the length and breath of Africa I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief, such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very back bone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage and therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture. For if the Africans think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, vthey will loose their selfesteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them a truely dominates nation Lord Macauleys address to the British Parliament on 2nd February 1835

Swaziland King Mswati III has issued a decree at his Easter meeting with local pastors at the Engabezweni Royal Residence banning divorce in the southern African nation. Africa Review quoted the Times of Swaziland newspaper that King Mswati told the pastors to educate the people that there was no pulling out once they got married. “In our culture, once you marry someone, there is no turning back,” the Times of Swaziland quoted King Mswati as saying. The decree comes in the wake of the Swazi Attorney-General Office’s drafting the Marriage Bill of 2017, which contains five grounds for divorce. The existing Marriage Act of 1964 prohibits divorce. The newspaper quoted King Mswati comparing marriage to a covenant with God, pointing out that it was wrong for people to break agreements made with the latter. The Kingdom of Swaziland in southern Africa is one of the world’s last remaining absolute monarchies. It has, according to UNICEF, the highest HIV/Aids prevalence rate in the world. Some 210,000 of Swaziland’s 1.2 million population were living with the HIV infection. King Mswati III was crowned in 1986 at the age of 18, succeeding his long-serving father King Sobhuza II, who died at the age of 82. The king, 49, who is known as Ngweyama – “the lion” – has many wives and often appears in public in traditional dress. He is also permitted to choose a new bride every year. Shuaibu, 53, a journalist and former staff of the News Agency of Nigeria was picked up by police on Monday and charged with robbery and attempted robbery for the crimes committed during his two-month spree. All four banks are within walking distance of UN headquarters on First Ave. near E. 42nd St., where the Nigerian worked. Authorities were led to the suspect after a retired police officer who works at the UN recognised him from a surveillance image previously released by the police. In the first incident, Shuaibu walked into a Santander Bank on Madison Ave. near E. 43rd St. on Feb. 27 and told the teller he had a gun. The bank employee complied and handed him an unknown sum of money. He hit two more banks in March, first striking out at a Bank of America on Third Ave. near E. 47th St. on the 13th. He was also successful in robbing a Santander Bank on Third Ave. and E. 63rd St. on the 27th. During the most recent incident on Monday, Shuaibu walked into an HSBC on Third Ave. and E. 40th St. around 2:30 p.m. and passed a note demanding cash to the teller. The teller did not read the note and asked him for identification. He, however, instructed the teller to read the note, keeping his hand in his jacket pocket while simulating a gun, police said. Police arrested him later in the day when he returned to the UN. Shuaibu was an employee of the News Agency of Nigeria and served as its UN correspondent between 2006 and 2009. The agency, however, terminated his appointment in April 2013 following his refusal to resume work in Nigeria at the expiration of duty tour and extended period which he requested to enable him complete an academic programme. The termination of appointment was formally conveyed to the UN. A UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric denied that Shuaibu was a staff of the organisation. He told NAN in New York that the suspect was also not accredited to the UN after NAN withdrew his accreditation. Dujarric also said that the suspect only worked as a contract staff for three months in Darfur and his contract was terminated in 2012. However, Shuaibu on his LinkedIn page, describes himself as a "communications specialist at United Nations". Shuaibu attended Ahmadu Bello University between 1980 and 1985, where he studied International Relations. http://odili.net/news/source/2017/apr/19/323.html

It is owned by a former Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Ahmed Muazu, who retained for himself the penthouses, 10A and B; as well as Apartments 11A and 11B. Since the raid became public, the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has laid claim to the funds, its Director-General Ayodele Oke saying it was meant for covert operations authorized by President Goodluck Jonathan during his tenure. Following Friday's ruling of the Edo State Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal that affirmed the election of Governor Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has asked a former governor of the state and APC leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to “to explain what he meant when he referred to the tribunal verdict as Mama Akara judgement.” The PDP said there was more than meet the eye in Oshiomhole's remarks shortly after the judgement was declared that the tribunal's verdict was not more than “Mama Akara judgement” with the party saying Oshiomhole had made a suggestive statement. Edo State chairman of the PDP, Dan Orbih, who stated this while reacting to his party's loss at the tribunal, said the statement credited to Oshiomhole cannot be taken on the face value and that the former governor has exposed the behind-the-scene process that led to the judgement. He said, “I watched former Governor Adams Oshiomhole on national television describing Friday's judgement as Mama Akara judgement. This is about the first time Oshiomhole will be describing things the way they are in his political life. “We know what goes into the making of akara and we also know that the Mama Akara will not part with her akara for nothing. So, we are demanding from Oshiomhole to tell Edo people and indeed Nigerians what was handed the Mama Akara before she let go of her akara.” Meanwhile, the Edo PDP has given reasons the party will not accept Friday's judgement of the tribunal, pointing out that the tribunal threw away the results obtained from the inconclusive ballot recount and that the tribunal expected the party and its candidate to call on over 2,000 witnesses in 14 days among others. Orbih in his post-mortem of the tribunal verdict told journalists at the weekend that the tribunal through its pronouncement was saying that different unit presiding officers could adopt different standards in conducting the same election and that the tribunal was saying that there was no need for uniformity in the conduct of elections. He said: “Conduct of an election is not a fre-for-all exercise where anyone is at liberty to apply his own discretion. What Justice Badamasi was simply saying that whether the presiding officers followed the regulations or not did not matter. “For the first time ever, a judge redefined over-voting as a situation whereby the total number of votes cast exceeds the total number of registered voters. Is that not laughable?I think these are the salient issues that we will challenge.” |
man whose identity has been shielded by a local church in Makurdi, has shocked church members with a tithe offering of N42 million. Investigations by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Makurdi revealed that the money was paid into the UBA account of the NKST Church High Level Makurdi. Although the pastor of the church, Dr. Frederick Ikyaan, initially denied knowledge of the offering, a copy of the church’s quarterly financial report, covering the months of January – March, confirmed the payment of N42million tithe to the church. The report showed that the lodgement was the highest single offering from an individual for the quarter. The money was paid into the church’s account in January. The breakdown of the church’s financial report showed an income of N56.2 million and an expenditure of N33.7 million within the same time frame. The church’s records also showed that out of the income, N44.6 million was generated from tithe offerings while a single person accounted for N42 million. Reacting to the financial report, the pastor said his initial denial was based on the allegations that the donor was an appointee of the Benue government. ” I still stand by my words that the person that gave us that money is not an appointee of the state government. In fact, he does not even stay in Benue but is an indigene of the state.” He said there was nothing wrong with the offering and insisted that the church had nothing to hide. Meanwhile, the tithe offering has stirred controversy in a state struggling to pay the salaries of workers. Public discussion centred on the legitimacy of the donors income, as a man who pays N42m to a church as tithe must have made an income of N420 million in the month that he paid. The NKST Church is an abbreviation for ‘Non go Kristu U Sudan hen Tiv’, meaning the Church of Christ Amongst the Tiv NAN |

Comptroller Yusuf Bashir, the Customs Area Controller of Tin-Can Island Customs Command, has told Mr Abba Aliyu, who was promoted from Grade Level 4 to Grade Level 8 to see his elevation as a result of additional education. Bashar said this while decorating newly-promoted officers of the command on Thursday in Lagos. He said that it took Aliyu three years to earn a degree, adding that this had elevated him to a higher level.
