Food › Food That's Sweet Na Dirty Cause Am? by Mcreloaded(op): 6:04pm On Mar 30, 2017
For quite some time now I and my friends have been cooking some type of food in the house with either gas ,stove or electric stove
We found out that the moi moi or boiled corn fried yam,etc cooked in the house is never as sweet as the road side food whose water is dirty and the drum exposed to smoke from the wood and vehicle fumes or exhause passing by and the occasional sweat drops inside the drumno tto talk of the running nose and so on and so forth and we always end up sucking the corn cob after eating the corn knowing the water in the drum used to cook the corn is dirty and let's not forget the news paper whose ink as also rubbed off the food to add more spice.
No wonder we could never get ours to be as sweet as the road side moi moi or boiled corn
Hit like if u think dirt makes road side food sweeter than food cooked in sterilized kitchen using electric cooker ,Stive or gas

Politics › Nigerian Senators Are ‘clowns, Acting Like Bunch Of Errant School Children’ – Bu by Mcreloaded(op): 2:26pm On Mar 30, 2017
Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has described the Nigerian senate as “clowns” who have turned itself into a chamber that works with blackmail.

Onnochie made the remark while reacting to the recent decision by the Senate not to screen nominees sent by the President until Ibrahim Magu is fired as the Acting Chairman of the EFCC. lambasted the senators, saying they have neglected their principal’s role of law making.

She wrote: “At best, the Nigerian Senate has turned itself into a trade union of some sort. Not a patriotic trade union that cares and fights for the well being of the citizens, but a blackmailing self-serving trade union that work with blackmail!

“But there are many patriotic and people-oriented senators in that Chamber. Where are they? Why are they silent? Why are they succumbing to the bullying antics of a few clowns who are being manipulated by the head cabal? Yes, the cabal!

“What are the patriotic senators doing to let Nigerians know that they are not part of the unholy and demonic alliance of the awaiting-trial cabal?
pretty, and allow those who are either under criminal investigations or are awaiting trials to be the ones deciding the fate of Nigerians?

“So, why is the Nigerian Senate acting like a bunch of errant schoolchildren in a playground?

Crime › 42-year-old Tailor Denies Raping JSS I Student by Mcreloaded(op): 11:50am On Mar 30, 2017
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 42-year-old tailor, Lucky Emmanuel for allegedly raping and impregnating a Junior Secondary School, JSS, 1 student.

The girl, who hawks plantain in Ajangbadi area of the state was said to have accused Emmanuel of forcing his way on her while she was going about her business.
management of the teenager’s school contacted the police on noticing she was pregnant.

Speaking when he was paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters on Wednesday, the tailor, however, denied the claim saying he was in a relationship with her.

The tailour who hails from Imo State, maintained that he wanted to marry her, adding that he had given the girl’s family N84,000.

According to Emmanuel, “I didn’t rape her. She was actually living with me with the permission of her parents. We started dating eight months ago and I have started the traditional rites.
I actually gave her parents N20,000 for the introduction and an additional N64,000. I want to get married to her. I only slept with her twice before she got pregnant in October. I made sure she registered for ante-natal care.

“It was her school authority that contacted the police, who arrested me because they felt she was too young to be married. They only labelled it rape to make it look like a crime.

“They also reduced her age, claiming she is 13, whereas she is 15. Her parents consented to the whole arrangement.

“I was surprised when I received a call from her mother yesterday, that somebody went to the school authority to report that she was pregnant.
school authority came to the house and said that the girl is not mature enough for marriage.

“That was how the case was reported to the police and I was arrested. I don’t know the name of her school. But she is in Junior Secondary School, JSS, one.”

Health › Meningitis Outbreak Kills At Least 140 In Nigeria by Mcreloaded(op): 4:40pm On Mar 29, 2017
An outbreak of meningitis in several states of Nigeria has killed at least 140 people, officials say.
It has been reported over the last week in six states and has so far infected more than 1,000 people, the Abuja Centre for Disease Control says.
Meningitis causes an acute inflammation of the outer layers of the brain and spinal cord.
The current outbreak is the worst in Nigeria since 2009 when it killed at least 156 people.
Africa Live: Updates on this and other African stories
The disease is spreading amidst fears it could be out of control if refugee camps, prisons and police cells become affected through crowds, the BBC's Chris Ewokor in Abuja says.
Vaccination is an effective way of preventing against meningitis.
However, a new strain, which may have been imported from a neighbouring country is now prevalent in Nigeria and requires a different type of vaccine, Nigerian Minister of Health Isaac Adewole said.
The seasonal outbreak has been attributed to cold nights, dusty winds and dry weather, which were aggravated by traditional beliefs, poor hygiene, and overpopulation, our reporter says.
Nigeria lies on the meningitis belt, stretching from the Sahel region to the Horn of Africa, where outbreaks occur regularly.
Crime › Man Gets Two-month Jail Term For Stealing N170 by Mcreloaded(op): 4:28pm On Mar 29, 2017
A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, on Tuesday sentenced one Wisdom Gabriel, 22, to two months imprisonment for stealing N 170 at a chemist's shop in old Karmo Market.

The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convict N5,000 option of fine. The judge said that the sentence would serve as deterrent to others that may be tempted to commit similar crime.

Gabriel who resides at Aiko Estate, Life Camp Gwarinpa, pleaded with the judge to tamper justice with mercy.

He was found guilty on a count charge of stealing a box containing N170.

The convict told the court that satan pushed him into the crime.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Zannah Dalhatu, told the court that one Helen Atusu of old Karmo arrested and brought the convict to Karmo Police Station, on March 24, 2017.

Dalhatu said that the complainant said that on the same date, the convict broke into her chemist's shop at old Karmo Market and made away with her box containing N170.

She raised an alarm which led to the arrest of the convict with the help of one chukwuma Eze. The prosecutor said that the offence is punishable under Section 287 of the Penal Code

STATE OF THE NATION
A SELF DECEIVING COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA

Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.

The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun.

The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.

Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).).

In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.

In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.

It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.

This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.

NOW I ASK:
How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?

As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?

IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE......

Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.

Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.

Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen.

It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders.

Health › Nigeria: Meningitis - Two More Deaths Recorded In Sokoto by Mcreloaded(op): 11:46am On Mar 28, 2017
By Rakiya A.Muhammad and Ismail Adebayo
Two additional deaths due to meningitis have been reported in Sokoto State, bringing the death toll so far to 23.

Giving an update on the state of High Alert declared by the Ministry of Health, the state Health Commissioner, Dr Balarabe Kakale said the medical teams deployed across the state had treated 400 mixed cases of severe malaria and meningitis across the seven top-hit local government areas of Kebbe, Bodinga, Rabah, Wamakko, Gada, Dange/Shuni and Tureta, out of which 56 cases were confirmed in the laboratories to be cases of meningitis.

The commissioner assured that the cases were reducing, and stressed the need for people to avoid linking cases of meningitis to witchcraft or sorcery, and advised that all suspected cases be reported to the hospitals, as the state government had made provision for the free treatment of patients.

In Kebbi State, the Ministry of Health said it has put its epidemiological field staff on red alert as plans are on to immunize the general public against the spread of meningitis.

The Permanent Secretary in the Kebbi State Ministry of Health, Muhammmed Atiku Kende told our correspondent that the state traditional institutions and the members of the public had also been primed to report any suspected cases of CSM or other illnesses in any part of the state to the epidemiological field staff, Ministry of Health or any other health agencies in the state.

Three weeks ago four students died in the outbreak of meningitis at Fanah area of Suru in Kebbi State. The victims were students of the Government Secondary School in the area. The outbreak of the disease was also reported to have recorded casualties in Kamba and other areas.
Phones › Five Reasons To Buy A Big Smartphone (phablet) by Mcreloaded(op): 11:38am On Mar 28, 2017
More comfortable media

Generally, the best aspect of any phablet is also the thing that makes it a "phablet" in the first place: its mammoth screen. We usually put anything with a 5.5-inch display or bigger into the phablet category, and while the extra half-inch or so it adds to a standard flagship's screen doesn't sound like much on paper, it makes a noticeable difference in practice.

Watching a movie or playing a game on a larger 1080p (or higher) smartphone screen is simply more luxurious than watching it on a smaller one. It's like how viewing a bigger HDTV is more comfortable and engrossing than hunching over a littler one; multimedia just has more room to breathe on these things, and you don't get that mental barrier of "I'm watching this the wrong way" as much as you will with a slightly smaller screen as a result.

With games, you also have more space to navigate any onscreen controls. You can simply enjoy your stuff.

The idea is to give you the best of both worlds – phone and tablet -and the best phablets do this spectacularly. Devices like the Google Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, among others, ýhave gorgeous, probably too sharp quad HD (2560 x 1440) displays, but are easy enough to throw in a coat pocket or carry around with one hand. Taking in media on a high-end TV or laptop screen still looks better, but for those instances where you will normally use a smaller smartphone or more unwieldy tablet – such as a cramped flight – a good phablet finds the sweet spot between quality and convenience.

Better battery life

It's not a universal thing, but most popular phablets keep those big screens going by packing in batteries that make the most of the room provided by their larger chassis.

Battery life is one of the few aspects of today's smartphones where there is obvious room for improvement, but with handsets like the OnePlus One and the aforementioned iPhone 6 and 7 Plus, it's not uncommon to get through the majority of two days off of a single charge.

This is one instance where phablets' propensity for overkill works to your advantage; unless you've been totally careless, you rarely need to worry about making it through the end of the day with a phablet in tow. They're a step forward for mobile tech in that way.

Frustration-free typing

Typos are right alongside paper cuts on the list of "Things Nobody Likes," but the wide body of a phablet makes it far less likely to fudge up your texts.

The keys on a phablet's virtual keyboard are naturally fatter and wider and they greatly lower the chance of you asking your friends "wgata ip" instead of "what's up."

Normal smartphones make typing difficult for those with large hands or chubby fingers, but with a phablet, everyone can avoid that frustration.

Less device clutter

As said above, the best phablets successfully bridge the gap between the convenience of a phone and the luxuriousness of a tablet. So, for those who don't want to (or can't) burn the cash to get both types of devices, a phablet can actually represent good value. Yes, on their own, they're quite expensive, but a good phablet makes a good tablet far more redundant than a good smartphone does.

Now, if you'd rather your tablet be a more work-oriented tool like a Surface Pro, today's phablets aren't going to replicate that kind of heavy duty functionality just yet. They're still far closer to smartphones than laptops. But it's harder to use something like a Nexus 7 or ýiPad mini, tablets that can get work done but are more oriented towards casual consumption, if you have a Nexus 6 or iPhone 6 Plus already.

It's not a 1:1 replacement, but because phablets are more accommodating to extended web browsing, gaming, and simple work tasks (like emailing and note taking) than a smaller smartphone, they can lessen the need to buy more stuff, which is always nice.

What's your other hand doing anyways?

The biggest knock against phablets is that they're difficult to use comfortably with one hand. People won't deny that – trying to type with one thumb on a 6-inch screen like that of Huawei Ascend Mate7 only leads to repeatedly dropping the device. In all honesty, the amount of time per day where people only have one hand free is pretty slim. Those instances where the need is genuine usually aren't the best times to be staring into a smartphone screen either.

There have been countless books and articles written on the idea that people aren't as busy as they think they are, and the notion that a smartphone needs to be usable with one hand to justify itself ties into that phenomenon.

Are you really always on the go, holding a briefcase in one hand, typing up a crucial email in the other? It's a great thing when something strong and convenient like the Xperia Z3 Compact rolls along, for sure, but needing two hands to type "fail vids" in the YouTube app probably isn't the end of the world.

Most phablets aren't so big that it's impossible to take a call or unlock the device with one hand, and the power and comfort they bring to almost everything else more than makes up for the fact that you may have to put your coffee down every now and again while using it. Besides, typing something out with two hands is usually more efficient and error-free than doing so with one, regardless of screen size.

People should only accept a smartphone that works for them, of course, but if you take a step back and think about how often your other hand is just lying there, you may find the concept of a bigger smartphone a little less intimidating.

Chinese courts heard no fewer than 1.4 million divorce cases in 2016, the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) said on Monday.

“Apart from those applied for in court, 3.46 million Chinese couples divorced in civil affairs offices in 2016,” Du Wanhua, a senior SPC official, at a conference, said.

Du said court officials needed to study sociology and psychology to better mediate family disputes, as nearly 10 million people were directly involved and over 50 million people, including children and close relatives, were affected.

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, a total of 3.15 million couples divorced in civil affairs offices in 2015, and 2.96 million couples in 2014.
