That's deception right there. Pride, self righteousness is lurking in their heart!

my heartfelt greetings goes to you guys once more as you this forum was instrumental to my getting a job last year August...

This is my story. I work for an auditing firm , name withheld by me. early this year I occasionally caught my boss staring at me provocatively I.e lustfully but I just took it as nothing serious because he has never made advances before to me.
Earlier this month, he started complimenting my looks and all, but I still not suspecting anything reciprocated by complimenting his good looks too..
After all who doesn't want to be in the good books of his or her boss..
On the 21st of Jan , he called me into his office and offered me a seat.
I sat innocently, and from there he started his talk about how hard working I was and all.
As if that was not enough, he drew closer and tried to fumble my breast..this man in his mid fifties , had no shame when I politely told him that I was still a virgin and that he should stop..
He apologized and asked me out of his office..
About three days later, he sent for me and presented my termination letter. When I opened the letter, a tear dropped off my eyelids as I saw in block black and bold letters "TERMINATION OF APPOINTMENT DUE TO REDUNDANCY" . I stood there for close to five minutes not knowing what to say.After a while I managed to utter a thank you sir and left to pack all my belongings out of the company..
I went home to meet my sick mom(my father is late, I am an only child), when I saw her state I couldn't just bring it upon my self to tell her that I was just sacked..
right now, all the money I have been spending has gone to my mother's treatment..
even to eat now is a problem, right now having 1000 naira is like a million naira...
I have considered giving in but my vow to keep my virginity till marriage is still strong ( this virginity till marriage is a family thing. my mom,mom's mom and so on where Virgins)
so confused right now lord please help me, in your loving kindness touch the hearts of men to look upon your daughter who has chosen to live according to your ways amen...

Even as i agree with you that the US role in the middle east has created some of these terrorist but for how long are we going to keep putting the blame on the US? The stupidity, arrogance, selfish interests of the US should not and never be an excuse for the Muslim world to become terrorists. If elites like you simply blame the US alone without actually condemning this terrorists, it will be an indirect way of giving them moral support and this madness will continue. Somebody should tell these guys that since they want to become terrorist because of the US, they should target the pentagon, Air force 1, white house, Us soldiers and leave innocent civilians alone.

Why waste the lives of innocent people when even most of them hate their govt because of its stupid role in the world. One day Europe will slide to conservatives and start deporting Muslims back to their country.
Attacks like this is a reminder to the free world that there is possibility that there is something fundamentally wrong with Islam. Remember the religious riots in the north. Or is the Danish carton riot a fault of the US too?

At some point, the past needs to be erased so that a better future will be created. Japan was nuked by the same Evil US, yet Japan has let go the past and has built a prosperous nation afterwards. i am sure that if Japan was an islamic nation, that would have been an excuse for Japanese citizens to embrace terrorism since it will be comfortable to blame the US.

I am sick and tired of Islamic terrorism worldwide. somebody should tell these guys, US evil interest should not be an excuse to destroy and kill. if the Muslim world cannot sponsor Christians to become terrorists and suicide bombers, when then should they allow themselves to be sponsored for terrorism except there is something fundamentally wrong with Islam.

The Greek is "adelphaen gunaika" not "adelphaen,gunaika".

The first one means SISTER. When you add a comma, you now turn it to two words "SISTER, WIFE".


Even the grammar shows this, adelphi means sister. So if Paul wanted to write sister separately from wife, why didn't he use adelphi which is a noun, rather than adelphaen which is an adjective.

Satan simply means the Adversary. Ha-satan.

In yoruba language we call it Elenini.

Just as in yoruba where there is a spiritual being called Elenini and at the same time we can refer to elenini in every day terms as people that stand in the way or block your path, so it is with Hebrew Satan.

If you want to translate bible to yoruba then Elenini is the true term for Satan, not Esu.

Anybody that blocks your progress is Elenini, therefore is Satan.

Most mentions of Satan in the OT is in the capacity of obstacles/enemies. David does not mention Satan as a spiritual being.

Psalm 109:6 that Joagbaje mentions can be translated
6Appoint a wicked man against him;
let an accuser stand at his right hand.

This is how the ESV translates it. It's a bad belle prayer that calamities and obstacles should afflict the person the Psalmist has bad belle for.

God can send angels in the capacity to be Satans to a particular person in a particular context.

Numbers 22:22
and the angel of the LORD stood in the way as a Satan against him

Even in the NT when Peter attempts to obstruct Jesus from dying, though he felt he was acting in Jesus' best interests he had taken the role of a Satan. In other words, he was now blocking Jesus' path to do what he wanted to do.
Jesus called him a Satan.

First Kings, 11:14
God stirred up a Satan unto Solomon, Hadad the edomite.

Anybody can be satan in the OT. All you've got to do is get in the way of someone else and you're that person's satan.

Interesting polemic against Satan by Scholar8200 it is a triumph of style over substance. It does not deal with the query of the OP which is, why is there a lack of the appearances of Satan in the OT as opposed to the NT where Satan is found virtually at every turn?


The answer lies in the different approaches taken by the Hebraic and Aramaic writers of the OT and that taken by the mostly Hellenized Greek speaking Jews who composed the NT. The common denominator are the Books of Enoch from where we learn that Satan is brethren to Michael, Uriel, Gabriel and Raphael, he rejected the dominion of God, declined to serve, formented rebellion and for this, was thrust into the great empyrean.

The NT concept of Satan is very heavily influenced by the nightmarish apocalyptic visions in the book of Daniel, as well as the equally harrowing Book of Revelations (which at one time was considered so bad as to be un-Christian) both books reflect Enochian visions of Satan or, if you prefer, the devil.


In Judaism however, Satan is a term used since its earliest biblical contexts to refer to a human opponent. Occasionally, the term has been used to suggest evil influence opposing human beings.

What is clear is that the Rabbis rejected Enochian literary works in their scriptures (the OT or Tanakh as well as the Talmud)and made every attempt to root them out rejecting any belief in rebel or fallen angels, demons and such-like, they chose to view evil as an abstract, a very sophisticated outlook. The Hellenized NT writers on the other hand did not share this view. Quite simply if Satan were not around the corner to lure one into temptation, and there were no binding of demons, what would be the need for salvation?

This Question has always been bothering my heart. The Caucasians are not as religious as the blacks, but are doing very well economically and in standard of living, why?
