vicchi12: I'm very happy for you. There are also good men. It's what I tell my girl friends. I try not to listen to cheating scandals. I always tell God, that even if it is not His will for us to marry, I would still be thankful for the opportunity that I currently share with my bf. And I believe that Godin heaven will bless the woman he eventually marries. And as for me, God will bless me with my His own desire for me. However, I hope God's will is for us to be together. Life is not hard like people think it is. When I met my b, he was a security.. lol. He is now an Engineer making 6 figures in dollars(very rare for our age, below 25) As for me, I'm still praying to God, but I know God has got me. God is working. I don't go to church every Sunday. Been to church only 3 times since past 2 years. Please y'all, let us make this Valentines a Godly one. I pray that greatness from above may follow u, remain focused. EYE ON THE GOAL |

Be honest to yourself, do you know her long enough or in the short time how well do you know her? I don't think your interest must be hers that's why what we need in marriage are complimentary partners not corresponding partners. I will advise you to read good books on marriage or self help tapes. No one can give u the best answer to marry her or not u will do that yourself. |

Good one but there are some points I think you would have emphasised that u did not e.g At what point does love die in a marriage relationship if there is anything like love dieing. Also the point you raised about hoping that our relationship partner will change(as far as am concerned most times people don't change, they simply change the form of their former misdeed). Only for them to turn worst. I commend your post |

TonyeBarcanista: Bro, it is actually left for you both to decide. You see most times the fault is usually from both ends. Why not identify your own flaws and work on it while she sort herself? I guess she must also be complaining about something in you.
After you have done this, call/text her that you want to see her, and tell her that you have identified your flaws and promise her that you are determined to kill that thing that makes her unhappy. Then tell her that you meant the sweet promises you made to her etal. Then tell her that you want her more than ever. Wait for her reply!
If she is silent, it is POSITIVE! If she give an express YES, it is also positive. But if she says NO, give her space and time 15-30 days. If she wants you she will be the one to contact you. thank u bro, I hv done most of d things u suggested above and things hv started improving lately |

Education › Re: Private Universities Vs Public Universities by McTobe(m): 11:08pm On Feb 04, 2017 |
SonOfEl: First of all, I have no personal beef or ish with private universities in Nigeria. Kudos to them. However I feel they are no match for the public universities.
Asides Covenant University which has been pursuing academic excellence rigorously, all other private universities are mere profit companies.
But even if you tell me to pick between covenant university and any first or second generation public university, I would still go for the public universities. Why?
1. They have a well established alumni of global reckoning. 2. They are not driven or motivated by profit as observed in private schools which are owned by private individuals or groups. They are driven by innate academic excellence. 3. Unlike private universities, they expose one to the real world of obstacles, manoeuverings, economy, and independence, all together laced with academic pursuit.
I know Covenant (and others) aims to be like Harvard university. But harvard, though private in ownership, is public in setting. The US government is a serious stakeholder in the university, so the university is not entirely private so to say.
Just my take. Don't crucify me abeg o.... Good point but they are still good in their own right. If we'll managed a private Uni can still measure up. By d way pray mk I get d job that am seeking in a private Uni. Not a bad plc 2 start off one's academic career |

mokset123: I am just giving you clear options that one can toe.
Private university jobs are supposed to be pensionable like government jobs now. Because of the 2004 and 2014 pension reform act.
The benefit of most government jobs are security and your time The major disadvantage of most government jobs is poor remuneration. Sure!! Thanks a Million |

mokset123: Private universities most times would need you on ground if you were employed as a full time staff. Since you work with inec may be it's around the election period, you would be occupied with work issues.
Take the faculty officer job at the private university. Save money while two timing then quit when it looks like, you can't keep up, retain your government job and invest the money you have saved into your farming business or retail business thank u very much I see u did a good background check on me b4 commenting but plzz remove where I work in ur post. Ur advice seem to toe a middle course. D earlier was dat I should go 4 d uni & d later dat I should drop private Univ in d long run when it starts choking. Thank u again can u. Plz invite some like minds like u 2 give me their informed advice plz |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Job Description Of A Faculty Officer(advice Me) by McTobe(op): 6:59pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
mokset123: My brother if you have the balls go ahead and do it. No risk no glory. You should be silent about your government job while at it as a faculty officer. When you feel you might get caught you resign immediately. Or better still quit your government job and take up the offer since the pay is higher than what you receive as an officer in inec. Look out for the conditions of service of the university job, if it is at par with other government owned universities thanks man. But u know d problem of lack of security of job that goes with private works. I personally feel that I can gradually build a career in the university by stepping into Academic staff when my MSc is ready but my fear is that private works are not pensionable like govt. On the other hand I can resign d govt job after all no gut no glory. Am still confused. Thanx altogether plz modify ur post by removing d commission I work in. |
