She was drugged by her Nigerian friend of 3 years, gang raped by her fellow Nigerians, 3 of them. She said this herself in her Facebook post. Please read the story before you comment next time. Ghanaians we're not evil like that. IntersexSherry: |
But you guys can really insult o why Nigerians? The least thing people are insulting you left right centre. Why?People are too sensitive, too proud, too arrogant. I have a Ghana-Nigeria cousin who now live in Ghana and she's so proud/arrogant, talks to people anyhow, disrespects the husband, has changed househelps uncountable times etc etc. Why? Whats wrong with some of you? Alero3Arubi: |
It's more common in Nigeria/Port Harcourt. I had never heard of kidnapping in Ghana until the Nigerian guys kidnapped and killed the poor Takoradi girls. I hope you've not "normalized" it. This violent kidnapping happened in front of the YouTuber, his windscreen was shot and he had to duck. He nearly died. He's never experienced this in his life. The "normal" Nigerian friend he travelled with became jittery/anxious/apprehensive and was always looking over his shoulder immediately they landed in Port Harcourt because he knew the nature of the environment. Just last week or so a Ghanaian-registered vessel was attacked by Nigerian pirates in Ghanaian waters and some foreigners kidnapped. You guys should have a reign on your insecurity. It's beginning to affect the whole subregion Heartbender: |
Hotel/restaurant foods and drinks tend to cost higher than roadside's. When Nigerians come to Ghana, they want to act big boy, take air conditioned Ubers/taxi instead of trotro(our danfo) which is cheaper and quite decent, they want to drink bottled water (you can do fine with our sachet water/pipe borne water), eat in restaurants (if you can cook you'd save a lot of money) etc etc. You'll just see your money go. Live like a local, but occasionally treat yourself to "luxury" |
There's a Ghanaian YouTuber who experienced his first terror attack?/kidnapping incident in Port Harcourt. Somebody was kidnapped in front of him. He said his "normal" Nigeria friend he travelled with became "jittery" immediately they landed in Port Harcourt. quote author=Heartbender post=102150592]I stay in Port Harcourt too. Link up?
|
It's FAKE. His surname is Akufo-Addo. Full name Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo. No Ghanaian would spell Ghanaian "Ghanian". Nana would never talk about another country in such bad terms especially publicly. He's been on numerous foreign talk engagements and people have asked him to bash/advise his colleagues Buhari, Museveni etc and he dodged these questions because he understands diplomacy. He's no saint himself. He's not America etc. We're also building our infant democracy quote author=ChaleeBendel post=102010225]Just saw this on charlyboy's timeline. My question is, did he really say it? https://twitter.com/AreaFada1/status/1396754642701324289?s=19
|
I have family there, they live in Ghana now. Don't be too "sensitive" about the envy. People won't get physical with you. We're becoming more cosmopolitan, people are coming into money, are becoming more exposed etc, so hopefully things'd impove dawndeal: |
If a local Ghanaian is doing things anyhow in his own country, you want a "foreigner" too to come act anyhow? On a different thread, one of your brothers was advising his friend to come do galamsey when he clearly knows it's a serious illegality and there's a major clampdown on it currently. Your people freely advise your folks to come do yahoo yahoo, prostitution etc. We won't allow you mess up our country. No way quote author=Havanatandt post=101997284] Manny, i guess you stay in the northern region where only mallams and shea butter vendors are... As long as your job be legitimate, goan sit down... Your replies even smell some pooh... Who are d we that do not do things anyhow... Did i in any way advice people to do things anyhow?... What about your people in the Ashanti region doing Galamsey.. Aren't they soing things anyhow... Or your brothers in Taadi doing oil theft... Is that not anyhow doings?.. Charlie calm down o
|
We don't do things anyhow in Ghana. There're laws governing everything here. If you'd come here and try to play your "smart"by heart Nigeria life here we'd make things difficult for you. Havanatandt: |
I'm Ghanaian. Nigeria would have more food varieties than Ghana. It's bigger, more ethnically diverse etc. You guys have beef powder, I've never seen that here. You came to Ghana, a completely different "foreign" country expecting to see your Nigerian eba etc? We don't respect eba, amala here like that. Ours is banku, Kenkey etc. We've very delicious, nutritious meals. Some are an acquired taste, like the fermented banku, Kenkey etc. Lots too have to be prepared well to be enjoyed, or have a style to eating them. Foods like fufu, banku you swallow you don't chew. You need a local to help you appreciate them With vegetables, leafy vegetables our people in our northern parts patronize them more. Get a good local to take you to some "chop bars" in Accra for proper Ghanaian cuisine. Our chop bars/street sellers only sell the most popular foods, like fufu, banku with palmnut soup/groundnut soup, waakye, jollof etc. quote author=dawndeal post=101924779] Lol why are you sounding pained? You didn't flare up or reacted to the positive comments I wrote about Ghana because it goes down well with you abi. Nigeria is a country of intelligent people whether you like it or not, that's a fact. Yes Nigeria is currently undergoing challenges and we will surmount it in no time. Now going back to the varieties of food you said Ghana have more than Nigeria, I also have that thought before I came here but I was disappointed. Did you actually stay in Nigeria as you claimed because if you do you will see the difference in our food. Btw which state did you stay in Nigeria?
|
Ghana has not really had the need to increase it's military firepower. Rossippy: |
Op check out this YouTube channel ODANA NETWORK for lots of first-hand information on working/living in Ghana ugom123: |
That's bad. We don't do that in Ghana here. Not to compare, but it's not a common thing here. Over here if you have any issues with your neighbours, just inform your landlord and you'd be given good solution. The landlords are very respected BeeBeees: |
I'm Ghanaian. My Ghanaian aunt who's married to a Ghana-Nigerian have moved to Ghana, and when she's gisting with her kids in Yoruba it's as if they're FIGHTING. I'm not kidding. Even when they're gisting on phone it's as if they're FIGHTING. Up till today they still speak aggressively. In Ghana the Gas, who migrated from Ile Ife are the "aggressive" talkers. Lots of them are into boxing NoToPile: |
Wow fombi I'm Ghanaian. Those are some very strong words you used there. Yes there's envy here I won't lie, but we're becoming more cosmopolitan, people are coming into money, exposure etc so things are changing. The advent of social media is changing things positively the world over. fombi: |
I see you're really pained. Ghanaians are barbaric people? The mind blowing stories we read from your Nigeria tabloids sound normal to you ehn? Pray the bandits/gunmen and ritualists don't come for you. gimakon: |
What was your Ghana experience like? fombi: |
If not that the Ghana hype and lies got busted by the Ghanaians themselves in the past few weeks, I'm very sure vast majority of comments here would have been mentioning another shithole like Ghana, lol. You guys don't want to go to your eldorado Ghana again? E ti ya werey! We actually don't want you people here. Everywhere you go you mess up the place. You're a happy go lucky bunch of people. I can easily list lots of pluses for why Ghana's the best country but I won't bother |
And they'd go and mess up these places. You Nigerians you're a very big problem. A 200 million population problem just disturbing everybody |
I have stayed in Ghana for many years and it is not true Ghana's infrastructure is more so lately structured. Nigeria's infrastructure Nigeria infrastructure is on collapse and it is cheaply built when Nigeria build something in five years it is falling apart Well you've lived in both countries so you may know what you're talking about. But Nigeria by virtue of it's size, large population, diversity, riches, oil economy etc etc has more and better infrastructure than Ghana, no arguments there. |
Obama30 read up the Aborigines Right Protection Society of the then Gold Coast and see how their advocacy on the Land bill of 1897 saved West African lands from being annexed by the British as happened in East/South Africa. Nkrumah engendered the independence struggle in Africa etc etc. |
Obama30 you should know Ghana is a blessed nation after God's own heart and would ALWAYS WIN regardless the ills you wish it. We've been supplying electricity to Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso since the inception of our Akosombo and Aboadze power plants. All the 4 countries that share in the West Africa gas pipeline have part ownership of the infrastructure. Ghana has 16.3%, Togo, Benin both share 2%, Nigeria owns the rest. Ghana does about 170 000 barrels of oil production currently, EXPORTING about 140,000 barrels. The 90000 you mentioned is REFINED petroleum that we consume. We import about 85 000 barrels of refined oil. If we repair our oil refinery/build new ones, which are in the pipeline, we can EASILY take care of our petroleum needs. Nigeria that produces about 2 million barrels of crude oil, consuming about 325 000 barrels and refining just 35 000 barrels still IMPORTS 223 000 barrels of refined crude. You won't see that one to talk about. Our cocoa is still patronized the world over and we're still number 2 world producer and enjoying premium payments for our unique cocoa quality. Yes galamsey threatens the sector and govt is working to address that. The Chinese have nothing on us. We're the 10th largest contributor to UN peacekeeping. We're the most peaceful country in West Africa. Our diplomacy is very respected in the comity of nations. We're a small country but we punch above our weight |
I'm Ghanaian but Nigeria has better infrastructure than Ghana. I don't know what suffernsmiling is trying to achieve with this post. Ghana's the most peaceful country in West Africa, Ghanaians are by nature very calm peace loving people and we're trying to build our economy. It'd be foolhardy on anybody's part to disrespect Nigeria despite it's many problems. Let's wish him well |
Are there job in Ghana Jobs are hard to come by. The govt is the biggest employer. Our civil service is one of the largest on the continent, teachers being the most employed. There's a market for artisanal, entrepreneurial people. Our universities churn out lots of graduates onto the job market every year. Not many get jobs. Opportunities abound though. But the op didn't ask for job opportunities so HE's most welcome |
Maybe Ugom123 should try Namibia or Botswana. Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Rwanda are some of the "happening" places on the continent. There's a lot of news, growth, expansion, vibrancy, night life happening in these countries/Ghana that I'm sure the op would like to be part of. Yes Ghana can be expensive especially our rents/real estate, but people find ways around this. The op could get cheaper accommodation in the outskirts of Accra. There's a mini Dumsor happening right now where old transmission lines are being replaced etc, after which the electricity situation would be even more improved. There're foreigners, Diasporans etc coming into our space to LIVE life. People have MOVED from the West to be here. Yes lots of things are not great here, but the govt at least listens and is making efforts to improve stuff. Op you're welcome |
I'm Ghanaian. Op come to Accra/Ghana and survey the environment first. You'd love it here. Your questions on security, health, kids school etc would all be answered. There's also a growing, vibrant body of tech/fintech people, animators here you can liaise with. There're foreigners from all over the world here you can mingle and "rub minds" with. There's a certain Nigerian chef Sallie who're here to establish an eatery, you can follow them on YouTube. There're lots of Ghana-based Nigerian YouTubers Tiffany Eweka, Kenneth Nwache (KNT), etc that you can make enquiries from. Accra has lots of beaches, restaurants, leisure spots, top quality malls, quality schools, etc to make your stay enjoyable. |
