chudez0147:Hmmm. This's sad to hear. I'm Ghanaian. Where I live I've seen three different sets of police constables in the past 5 years or so. I think they rotate them every 2 years probably, because of issues of corruption, 'familiarity', etc etc. I hope it's nationwide. BUT the big men, the commanders I still see around Your best bet for redress is 'publicity'/ exposure, where your Issue is discussed in public and the offending parties interrogated. Hopefully you have hard evidence and witnesses to back your case Unfortunately most people like to report their Issues to the radio/TV stations because they usually get results. The 'big men' hate to be 'embarrassed', so when their issues are out there, they quickly want to address it so they're not seen in bad light So contact the radio/TV stations. Go to their twitter pages, the police's/IGPs twitter pages. Get a lawyer's opinion. At least exhaust these avenues before you go further |
I'm not sure anybody is worried. Brazilians see naked, near naked bodies all the time, it's not this 'covered up naked woman' who'd tempt them. And Brazilians have sexy bodies, covered up or not |
chudez0147:For people now hearing about your issue, If you don't mind, can you briefly tell us what the issue is? |
brandsoncharlie:I'm Ghanaian so I know these stuff. Ghanaian prison sentences are generally very high, some are even unreasonable. I see ivory coast too dishes out very hefty prison sentences. And yes there's the 'foreigner' especially nigeria bias too where Nigerians are handed very high sentences. Some Nigerians don't help matters with the heinous crimes they commit. There's the infamous case of the Nigerian Takoradi kidnapper who kidnapped 4 teen girls, raped them, killed them and dumped their bodies in a septic tank for no reason. You could imagine the Nigeria hate then. Lots of Ghanaians didn't even know what kidnapping was |
chudez0147:Joy FM's contact info is on the internet, I'm sure you can reach them from there. I don't know the nature of your issue, but some few things to share with you. when you're dealing with Ghanaian leadership, especially in your capacity as a 'foreigner', you have to tread cautiously You don't 'fight' them alone, you make sure there're at least 2 of you meeting with them. Especially a respectable country man or a local) You try to be cooperative and 'compromise' in some aspects. Like in most parts of Africa, most of our leaders have never been challenged, or 'embarrassed' so the least 'embarrassment' they're angry and want to show you where power lies. Etc etc All the best |
brandsoncharlie:It's 20 years per person, and the judges, who didn't make the law, are only following what the law prescribes for that type of crime. Has nothing to do with them being Nigerian/foreigners or not. Ghanaians also get hefty years |
businesshub101:Can one bring cedis into nigeria, change it into naira and be able to 'enjoy' life, because things are cheaper in Nigeria? I've heard some Ghanaians do that last year when the cedi was stronger |
Ghana police has a special office for sanctioning unruly police officers called PIPPS. Contact them. The new Ghana igp is no nonsense, friendly, professional, down to earth. Find a way to contact him Contact some of the proper media houses in Ghana, like joy FM/tv, citi FM/TV etc. They're reputable, fear no one and would speak for you |
Skibani99:That's the next invention we're waiting for. Gadgets to enable remote smelling of food at least |
Chopchopfine:Fried plantains go well with beans. Yams, unripe plantain go well with egg sauce. Where do you guys learn your wierd food combinations from? |
kilimanjaro:It's a skit. The man does these "embarrassing" "bad pastor" skits to "educate" people. The actors are not naked. Look for his behind the scenes videos of how he does his skits. He's been warned to stop. |
Wizzzzmike:Exactly Mike. There was a story here yesterday of a Nigerian who bit off the penis of a fellow Nigerian thief. He literally put his lips to the thieve's penis and bit a part off. If this had happened in Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe you'd get Nigerians tagging us with strange names. But these same Nigerians are no better |
slawomir:Don't be encouraging crime. Do you know some of these people engage in ritual murders to further their cause? Thereby promoting insecurity in the country? Your friend or family could fall victim. |
STOP deceiving us. These models you posted here before pictures are them without make up. In their After pictures, they put on make up. |
ChngedChnges:You're welcome |
ChngedChnges:Let me offer some help, I'm also home gyming Your focus should be on COMPOUND EXERCISES, like bench press, squats, deadlift, etc. They work multiple muscles at the same time, you're able to lift heavier weights and become stronger/muscular quickly as compared to ISOLATION EXERCISES like dumbbell curls etc Build a home gym. Build a simple flat bench press, get plates from scrapyards etc, weigh them and write their weights on them so you know how much weight you're pushing, get 1 or 2 barbells for bench press, barbell curls, squats, deadlifts etc, build a gym rack so you don't drop weights on yourself in the absence of a spotter Read up on bodybuilding/weight lifting. Lift heavy, don't spend more than one hour per gym session. Gym at least 3x per week. Don't gym everyday, but every other day because compound exercises are tasking, and you'd need adequate rest. Eat small portions of food every 2/3 hours. Protein, beans, groundnut/groundnutspaste, eggs, fish, vitamin c etc All the best |
tesppidd:Has he gotten his chain? Is there juju in the chain? |
hatakekakashi:Even the football it's only the Black Stars that get the most attention. We need to pay good attention to all sports |
Ghana has won 5 medals at the Commonwealth. 2 silver, 3 bronze, and is 7th on the African medal table out of 12 African nations. Our gold medal hopeful for boxing fell sick and couldn't compete in his final match so settled for silver. Our men 4 by 100 relay team qualified for the final race but got disqualified because of a technicality etc etc. Ghana should be doing better in these competitions |
JaskanFactor:Working out, especially weight lifting is even the healthiest thing to do. It strengthens the bones, the heart, makes the body burn food efficiently etc etc. If a weight lifter is able to eat 'clean' healthy foods, and lift heavy weights with proper form, he's the healthiest he can be. The use of PROPER FORM is crucial in weight lifting. It's people who use steroids etc who suffer debilitating effects of weight lifting |
LUAN:I'm just emphasising that he should have plentiful beans, groundnuts etc in storage for consumption |
Welcome to the world of bodybuilding. You'd NEED KNOWLEDGE to be able to 'gym' correctly and safely. Bodybuilding is a science. Go to bodybuilding. com or Wikipedia and read up on bodybuilding/weight lifting Do more COMPOUND EXERCISES, like bench press, squats, pull up, deadlift, etc. They work more than one body part, allow you to lift heavier weights thereby making you stronger/bigger quickly as compared to ISOLATION exercises like bicep curls, leg extensions etc Since you won't go to the gym, build your own gym. Get metal plates from mechanics etc. Weigh them with spring balance and write their weights in kilos on each plate. The plates are very important. Build a bench press. Get 2 adjustable dumbbells. Get another bar for barbell curls etc Have food around. Have beans, groundnuts, make groundnut paste, etc Read on PROPER FORM on how these exercises should be performed. Very important. |
Gandollar:I'm just speaking in general terms. Small noses look good on people and monkeys. |
blaquebelle:Lol. |
Put a thin smaller nose on the monkey and it'd look cute. Our noses easily can enhance or mar our beauty |
rickleye:It's just observational. The HD vs no HD picture quality is very noticeable in an air-conditioned vs non air-conditioned room. So I made my own conclusion. I'm sure if we look it up there'd be some science behind it |
Ebubu3:Dubai pictures don't look HD to me. It's the glam, beauty of Dubai that gives great pictures |
slimjohn2k5:It's the cold environment. Compare pictures taken in air-conditioned environment vs one without |
PetroDolla2020:Citifm organises a monthly Heritage month in March every year where astute Ghanaian historians talk about the origins of some Ghana names, places etc. The Nigeria origins of Nima, Abossey okai spare parts business, Makola etc are all documented. Our current chief imam's father or grandfather is a Nigerian migrant etc etc There're some Ghanaian families too that moved to Nigeria in those early days and made names for themselves. The Fante kramo (muslims) of Central region are Senegal soldiers who were brought here by the colonists to assist them. The Hausa are indigenous to Nigeria and Niger. The Hausa of Ghana are Nigeria migrants who were brought here by the colonists, came here to trade etc. These are all documented "facts" Ghana's influence is what we have over ivory coast. Where about 50% of Ivorians are essentially made up of Akan people who fled there in the olden days. The Ivorians don't dispute this. |
PetroDolla2020:That our history books don't mention these "Nigeria influence" on Ghana doesn't mean they're not true. But our history books even mention them. The Ile Ife origins of the Ewe, Ga etc are well documented in Ghanaian books for example Even that aside, you should know there're many PERSPECTIVES from which issues can be looked at. For instance I know the Ijaw are an ethnic group in Nigeria, I never knew they had some Ghanaian origins. Our history books never mentioned it. But I learnt about that on nairaland here I also learnt about Nnamdi Azikiwe's paying of Nkrumah's travel fees to study abroad here. Our regular school history books didn't mention this. Although I hear Nkrumah mentions it in some of his autobiography. And how Nigeria would have gotten independence before Ghana etc etc. That Ghanaian historians or our history books didn't mention these stuff doesn't mean they didn't happen or are not true. OTHER people wrote on these things or saw things from a DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE |
Christistruth00:Nice one Chrisistruth. |
PetroDolla2020:You know you can easily look up these questions you're asking right? I'm glad Chrisistruth is giving you incontrovertible answers. Our makola (original is mokola in Ibadan), abossey okai, nima etc have HEAVY Nigeria origins. When you know these stuff, you'd act differently |
