Google is an international company with Hq somewhere in America, why blame the Hausa man who has nothing to do with the company for any misrepresentation of your ppl?
Shouldn't the blame rest squarely with you guys? Whats stopping you or anybody from your area from contacting Google and asking them to rectify the error? How was the Hausaman able to infiltrate Google and if so, where were you when he was able to do so?

Slizbeat: We can all see how it is going down.

If we say "let the south unite", the yoruba's wont agree because they want monopoly and to their greatest surprise, they will be betrayed by their hausa/Northern counterpart.

Isn't it too clear to see that the North are trying to control all things except for the collective growth of Lagos??

Ever wondered why Kwankwaso should be training graduates on piloting, whether their studied course relates to it or not??

Southern Nigeria should be wise enough to decipher all these. Why now that the minister is having problems?? Why was it an hausa man that. gave the information?? Keep on playing the BMW game while they divert our attention and carry out their evil acts.
Pls explain how does training of graduates to become pilots translate to carrying out evil act? Are you sane at all? So you actually expect the governor not to try to empower his ppl, so that you can continue looking down on them and calling them derogatory names. SMH.

Sir your submission is contradictory. Business is indeed not about sentiments as u said. That is the reason u must not force airlines to ply routes they dont want to ply. You are going to kill the business!

Why are you 'worrying' for these airlines? Are u saying u have more business acumen in aviation business than them??!!

These guys are business people. They said they want to ply a particular route, u are here talking about them flying empty planes after 6 months.
If the market picks up in those other regions they are not plying, no one needs tell them before they apply to also fly there.

That is business for you. Competition! That is what stimulates the growth and creates the much needed employment.

Not some biased regulatory policy based on sentiments.

Why is this country like this for God's sake?!! No wonder this country is not progressing.
Guy, you make sense die.

fkaz: Hmmm withing two week she has grant landing permit to turkish airline and emirate airways to land in Abuja and Kano after several month of denied.
APROVED but Please DO THE NEEDFUL by granting the remaining airline i.e Ehtihad airway, Ethiopia airway and Qatari airway their landing permit in Abuja and Kano also, instead of asking them to land in Enugu or PH. Let the availability of customer determine where ever the airline wish to land, don't force them to use PH or Enugu because kwankwaso won't take it likely with you madam.
I think Madam had finally seen reason to do the needful (Kwankwaso no de waste time) and approved for above airlines to ply the formerly denied Kano route.
This means I may no longer need to take off from Lagos but directly from Kano either by Ethiopia or Emirates Air to India for my next medical check up - thank you Kwankwaso, you are too much cheesy grin grin

Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has said he will not seek a second term in office if he wins elections scheduled for April.

As the governing party candidate, he is the favourite even though some party officials have said he should not run.

He is a southerner and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has a tradition of alternating power between north and south of the country.

Under this unwritten rule, the PDP candidate should be from the north.

But in January's party primary, Mr Jonathan overwhelmingly defeated a northerner, ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

Last year, the party's powerful governors suggested that Mr Jonathan only seek one term as a compromise.

The PDP candidate has won every poll since the end of military rule in 1999.

However, most of its victories have been marred by widespread fraud and violence.

Mr Jonathan became leader after the death of elected President Umaru Yar'Adua in May 2010.

He is the first president from Nigeria's southern, oil-producing Niger Delta region.

Mr Jonathan has promised to introduce electoral reforms, but correspondents say it will be difficult to implement radical changes before April.

The main opposition candidates are former anti-corruption campaigner Nuhu Ribadu and Gen Muhammadu Buhari.
Who told you bastards the aviation minister prevented these airlines from flying to Kano? Or are you listening to the gossip and anti-igbo talk from the likes of your Kano state governor?

I've noticed that Turkish airlines has been serving the Kano route for quite some time, so your accusation that they were approved just as the Minister was about to leave for Isreal is based on the usual beer parlour fura do nunu parlour talk!

You bastards have denied int'l access to Enugu in particular and the South East in general since the 70s yet you sit there and talk shi/t! If you really wanna know about victimization ask the average Igbo man!

I noticed one of you saying Enugu airport isn't viable as an int'l route; maybe you missed the news that Ethiopian airlines has upgraded their aircraft to a much bigger plane due to increased demand. The initial problems witnessed soon after launch were nothing but teething problems owing to the newness of the route.....things are settling down nicely now!

Can you provide incontrovertible proof that the Minister prevented these airlines you talk of from flying to Kano out of spite, and told them to use AIIA instead......or are we going by dem say-dem say!
Hey, just who the hell do you think you are, calling ppl bastards? Do you even know the meaning of that word? Besides, if there is anyone likely to be a bastard here its probably you.
After-all, your women are known harlots and serial abortionists, leading the way in ashawoism (at national and international level); that's why your menfolk would not marry them until after they impregnate them, to make sure that their wombs are still intact.

Wicked ppl, God will punish them, thats how they have crippled Kano industries by denying them adequate electricity supply, rumour has it they are diverting power from Kainji dam (in the north) to Enugu, residents there even demonstrated (early this year or last year) when the plant temporarily had problems; while most parts of the north especially Kano were being grossly under supplied most of the time.

AVIATION MINISTRY BLOCKS QATAR AIR FROM KANO
Print Email
Category: Lead stories Published on Monday, 21 October 2013 05:01 Written by Turaki A. Hassan & Chris Agabi Hits: 13663

Aviation Minister Stella Oduah
The Ministry of Aviation has blocked Qatar Airlines from flying the Kano route, Daily Trust learnt lately.
This makes it the fourth foreign airline to be so barred from the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
Qatar Airlines had applied to be permitted to fly to Kano and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Daily Trust has learnt.
Earlier in the year, the ministry had blocked three foreign airlines - Emirates, Turkish and Etihad - from extending their commercial flights to Abuja and Kano, apart from Lagos where they currently operate.
Though Qatar Air officials declined comments, documents obtained by Daily Trust show that Qatar Air had sought additional landing permits from Nigerian aviation authorities to extend its flight operations from Lagos to Kano and Abuja since the past four months but the ministry declined the request, and instead advised it to consider flying to Enugu and Port Harcourt airports as alternative entry points in Nigeria.
Joe Obi, the media assistant to the aviation minister said he had no comment to make on the matter.
However, details of a Bilateral Air Services (BASA) negotiation meeting between Qatari officials and Nigerian aviation officials held between June 24 and 25, 2013 in Doha on review of the existing BASA agreement obtained by Daily Trust indicate that the Qataris presented two options to the Nigerian side to be granted additional landing permits in Kano and Abuja.
The meeting comprised 10 representatives from each side with the Nigerian delegation led by Mrs. Precious P. Mbukpa while the Qataris were led by Mr. Saleh Abdullah Al-Haroon, the director of Ari Transport Affairs department of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.
The first option involves the adoption of an open skies policy which will provide unlimited passenger, freight and cargo services with full freedom traffic rights on any immediate and beyond points while the second request was for 21 weekly frequencies to Lagos and 14 weekly frequencies to both Kano and Abuja.
However, the Nigerian delegation led by Mrs. Mbukpa, a deputy director in the aviation ministry rejected the request, arguing that the existing BASA agreement between Nigeria and Qatar made provision for the designated airlines to operate 14 weekly frequencies to Lagos but instead, asked them to reduce the 14 weekly flights to Lagos to seven while the other seven should be routed to Kano.
“The Nigerian delegation informed the Qataris that additional frequencies could be grated to Qatar Airways on BASA rights if they operate to Enugu and Port Harcourt as entry points,” the document read.
“We asked for 39 additional landing permits apart from the existing 14 which we operate on the Lagos route to enable us extend flights to Kano and Abuja, making it 49 weekly flights into Nigeria but the Ministry of Aviation denied us the permission and instead they asked us to go to Enugu and Port Harcourt. But we told them that we accept the offer of Enugu and Port Harcourt as additional entry points only for future use”, an official of the Qatari embassy in Nigeria said.
During the meeting in Doha, it was equally agreed that the Nigerian delegation communicate with their Qatari counterparts after further consultation with their principals within a period of 90 days as the deadline but the Qataris said they were yet to be communicated to the by the Nigerians.
The Qatari official who does not want to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the issue said, “How can we be asked to reduce our 14 weekly landings in Lagos to seven and take the remaining seven to Kano? We were categorical in our request that we need additional 39 slots, 21 in Lagos and 14 to Kano and Abuja each. But they are telling us that if we agree to go to Enugu and Port Harcourt, the permission could be granted.”

The only time it has any semblance of use is during hajj
That is not enough for the fed govt to waste such money
A simple analysis of travelers will tell us most international travelers in nigeria are from the south
But for politics the international airports should have been located in Lagos,Abuja,PH and somewhere in the Enugu / Onitsha area
Put an international airport in this 4 th location,I assure you the traffic to Lagos will reduce by half but Nigeria doesn't work by common sense.
Aboki wanted one and got it.
Your comment (highlighted) shows that you don't know Kano as you claimed.
FYI, the Kano Airport was an international airport long before you were even conceived; among the ones you mentioned above its only Lagos that may have preceded it in that capacity, therefore there was nothing like aboki wanted one and got it - stop lying.

As for the drop in flights, one probable reason might be a politic one, such as forcing some airlines away from that route to one's own region e.g. Qatar Airlines being forced to fly to Enugu Airport instead of its prefered Kano route by the present embattled Aviation Minister - whose nyash is being blown wide open because her corrupt antics.

Delafruita: some people just cant shield their ignorance.am certain you and almost every other person dt commented on this thread didnt even finish reading the write-up.his criticism isnt from a religious standpoint, rather it is from a political viewpoint.which is why he began by saying a journey to isreal isnt a cardinal principle in christianty as is mecca to muslims.the crux of the matter is that since nigeria claims to recognize palestine,a jamboree to isreal is like saying one thing and doing another.no nigerian president or head of state has visited isreal for obvious reasons and same applies to almost every nation that recognizes palestine.if pilgrimage to isreal were to be a cumpulsion on christians,it would have been a different thing but it isnt so by visiting isreal, our president has negated our policy on palestine.its simple as that which is why Gumi described Jonathan as a bad politician
You are wasting your time with these dullards, comprehension and objectivity can never be one of their strong points, they claim education but simply lack intelligence - Odechukwuism is fast catching up with them, PhD without intelligence.

What daft international airline would risk to fly to a high risk zone where Boko haram militants are gradually taking charge
If you had not been in too much of a rush to express your bigotry and foolishness you could have noticed, from the penultimate post before yours (fkaz) that the woman was blocking Qatari air from operating the Kano route where it wants to operate and instead forcing it on the Enugu route where it does not want to operate - a clear case of Nepotism and abuse of office.

BTW, with your kind of mentality, its no wonder that Qatari Air wants to stay away from Enugu.
