Despite the short comings, mainly due to wrong politics, if you look at Nigeria and compare to other African countries and countries at our level, you will see our human resource competes favourably, and our human resource is our greatest wealth.

We have cash crops, food crops, natural resources, good sun, lots of water and marine life...we have everything. Even as crude is phasing out, government must invest in Agriculture, science and technology, skills aquisition, and spend on innovation, by building science laboratories, mechanics workshops across the Geo political zone.

When I look at Nigeria, I see a strong resilient people, able to face any challenges, and this strength, resilience, and doggedness is our goldmine. Our human resources is a million times more profitable than oil, if we chanel, harness and develop efficiently.

We must get the politics right, vote for the right people, shine your eye, vote for who no go steal your money, no sell your vote. Vote for a prosperous Nigeria.

Significant percentage of processed foods purchased today contain some genetically engineered (GE) food products. As a result, each day, tens of millions of American infants, children and adults eat genetically engineered foods without their knowledge.

Consumers have no way of knowing what foods are genetically engineered because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require labeling of these products. What’s worse, the agency also does not require any pre-market safety testing of GE foods.

The agency’s failure to require testing or labeling of GE foods has made millions of consumers into guinea pigs, unknowingly testing the safety of dozens of gene-altered food products.

The FDA, in its response to a lawsuit filed by the Center for Food Safety in 1998, admitted in court that it had made “no dispositive scientific findings,” whatsoever, about the safety of genetically engineered foods. In other words, the FDA has given the biotech industry carte blanche to produce and market any number of genetically engineered foods without mandatory agency oversight or safety testing and without a scientific showing that these foods are safe to consume.

Genetic engineering allows, for the first time, foreign genes, bacterial and viral vectors, viral promoters and antibiotic marker systems to be engineered into food.

Ginger may play a role in weight loss, according to studies conducted in humans and animals.
A 2019 literature review concluded that ginger supplementation significantly reduced body weight, the waist-hip ratio, and the hip ratio in people with overweight or obesity.

A 2016 study of 80 women with obesity found that ginger could also help reduce body mass index (BMI) and blood insulin levels. High blood insulin levels are associated with obesity.

Study participants received relatively high daily doses — 2 grams — of ginger powder for 12 weeks.

A 2019 literature review of functional foods also concluded that ginger had a very positive effect on obesity and weight loss. However, additional studies are needed.

The evidence in favor of ginger’s role in helping prevent obesity is stronger in animal studies.

Moderators please take this to front page, I was in my hometown recently it was a devastating sight, people are suffering there, no water, no food.

Every now and then, we hear of reports in the Niger Delta, about oil spillage, either due to the negligence of the big oil companies, or due to bunkering activities.

We highlight some incidences on this report, and make a case, as we add our voice, calling on big oil corporations, and the government, to collaborate with host communities, and effectively put a stop to oil spillage, and open gas flaring, due to its harsh effects on humans(global warming), the environment and general economic and family life of the host communities.

It is indeed time Federal government call on professionals skilled in advising on such matters, come in and deliberate between all parties involved.

The solutions must be beneficial to all parties, namely, host community, oil companies and the indigenes and residents of the community.

As we all know, the youths venture into these bunkering activities to make a living, as we can not deny the fact that oil spillage, and dumping of crude and oil in the waters, destroys marine life, and by extension affects the lives of the people, who are mostly riverine in nature, depending on the fishes, marine life and agricultural produce for survival.

Recently, an explosion occurred, on the site of an illegal refinery in Rumuekpe, Emoha Local Government Area, on a bright Novermber Sunday afternoon of 2021, claiming the life of over 25 persons.

A stakeholder and representative of Rumuekpe, Ifeanyi Omano, described the situation as tragic saying the community had been thrown into mourning. Apart from the death recorded at the incident, Omano said the entire environment was devastated adding that economic trees and cash crops were destroyed.

Omano blamed the proliferation of illegal refineries in the area on oil multinationals operating in the community. He said the oil companies failed to live up to their responsibilities, a situation he said compelled the youths to set up artisanal refineries.

He said: “The situation generated a lot of tension in the community. Far above 25 persons were confirmed dead. Others were hospitalized, disfigured and the environment has completely been destroyed. Many economic trees, cash crops and a whole lot of others were damaged.
