I heard there are some internal wrangling in the camp of the SE involving Osaze, Martins and Lagerback. It serves Osaze right, next time be careful what you wish for |
is Sani Kaita the first player to be sent off in a world cup match? Rooney, Zidane, Beckham, have all been sent off before and cases abound of teams going ahead to get a victory despite playing with 10 or 9 men. We are unneccesarily making him the fall guy for our defeat. Before he got sent off, we scored a fluke goal and were purposeless and lacked a game plan in the match. With or without Sani Kaita we would still have been beaten because our coach knows nothing |
Its only in Africa Lagerback can get a job. I'm pretty sure that after his contract expires with NFF he wont get a job elsewhere except in Africa where mediocrity is celebrated. |
The only upset i have seen in this world cup is the Swiss and Spain game. France and Mexico is no upset to me. If France had defeated Mexico, that would have been an upset. I expected Algeria to get something from the England game and i'm not surprised at all. Simply put, England are poor and i'm happy they have been exposed before the world |
guess u mean Slovenia. i'm indifferent about it |
^^^ Chidichris be reasonable for once. Lagerback argued with the 4th official, what came out of that? We employed him because he was perceived to be a world class coach that will perform at the mundial but he has failed in flying colours and you're celebrating his arguing with a fourth official |
Amodu still has a contract with the NFF. |
plus we have a prosaic coach |
not an upset to me. All these tiny Eastern European teams are very good. I see Slovenia scoring more goals. These Slovenian guys are going to sodomise England |
What did Sani Kaita do that has never been done? Is he the first to be sent off in a world cup game. We are just making him the scape goat for our coach's technical naivity. Even when Kaita hadnt been sent off, we were purposeless. We scored a fluke goal. The same hapless display against Argentina was on repeat yesterday. The SE once again approached the game without a known game plan than to resort to Enyeama's heroics. Lagerback's credentials as a coach was put to test yesterday and we all know the outcome |
looks like someone has mastered how to use the jabulani. One of the best goals so far |
Lagerbacks technical acumen was called to question yesterday and he failed in flying colours. Is Nigeria the first team to have a player sent off at the world cup or arent there cases abound of teams winning with a man down. Even when we hadnt a man sent off, we never really got going. We scored a fluke goal. Nigerians were lying to them selves that the Super eagles played well against Argentina and they saw some improvement. It's like praising a child for failing, next time he wont even bother going to the exam hall. |
@ mbuela who's Emeka Enyadike? Is he the guy that talks about Nigerian league? My favourite analysts are Deji Tinubu and Biola Kazeem of hi sports. Deji Tinubu is a genius. He's the best i've seen in Nigeria |
is Nigeria the first team to play with 10 men in the history of the world cup? Cameroon defeated Argentina with 9 men at the 1990 world cup. This was a game where Lagerbacks technical competence was called to question and he failed in flying colours |
Nobody should give the time factor as an excuse. Lagerback was aware of how much time we had but his rapacity led him to signing the contract and telling Nigerians that he'll take the SE to the semi finals. I want his head on a platter |
In 2002 after Amodu was sacked, Onigbinde took us to the world cup and we played: 0-1 to Argentina, 1-2 to Sweeden and 0-0 with England. In 2010 the same Amodu was ignominiously demoted for qualifying Nigeria for the WC and winning a bronze medal for Nigeria at the Nations cup and Lagerback was hired for the WC and we have played: 0-1 to Argentina, 1-2 to Greece and we will play 0-0 with S.Korea |
Kaita in or out, we would have been beaten. Our coach na olodo! |
there's no way France will qualify. They cant beat SA. Besides, Uruguay and Mexico, with their Latino connection, will play a draw. It will be like the case of Austria and Germany in '82 world cup. South Africa will become the first host nation to be knocked out in the first round |
if u're into genetics, you will know that Kaita and Abidal are related |
les misrableus are finished |
Goal |
As if Kaita's dismissal made us lose. It played a part though but our coach's technical parviscience cost us the game |
spot on! what i saw today was heart attack football at its best |
Les misrableues will be beaten black and blue |
what of lagerback? |
Ranoscky:Nigeria 1 Greece 2. i guess that answers your question |
Nigeria neither attacked nor defended. Korea played well, they were able to string together some passes and also mounted pressure on the Argentines and they also got a vital goal. They were not entirely hopeless like Nigeria. The difference in the scorelines is solely down to Enyeama |
Maicon's goal was pure fluke. It will never ring in anybody's head to have a go from such an impossible angle. I think the Jabulani factor played a part. You could see the bewilderment on his face when the ball went in |
This was supposed to be an African world cup, our world cup but truth be told, its not been home sweet home for the African teams. Of all the African teams only CIV showed promise of some sort against Portugal. Ghana got a win but it was just luck on their side. That's not to take anything away from the Ghanian side that showed discipline and mental toughness against the Serbians. Nigeria's display against Argentina was incredibly awful. The Super eagles looked like a side that were on the pitch to admire Argentina's array of stars. Their performance was criminal. Cameroon were perceived as the African side that had the best chance of making a huge impact at the mundial but they've been the worst of the lot representing Africa, losing to Japan. Algeria showed some promise and were unlucky to have lost to Slovenia. The host South Africa looked impressive in the opening encounter against Mexico but were simply hapless against Uruguay. 'You cant give what you dont have' best captures South Africa's case |
I said i dont know how technically savvy Japan, Korea and other Asian countries local coaches are. My emphasis was on their local coaches. What i was tryin to say is that there may be a need for them to hire foreign coaches unlike Nigeria that I believe have good local coaches that if given the chance and the right support will perform. Seoul '88, ma bad, i wasnt even born then. But you said Italy fielded 13 players that were 23 years old. What matters is who those players are. Zambia with Bwalya and the likes were with their best legs. The squad Italy presented might just be a bunch of average players. |
I dont know how technically savvy Japan, Korea and those other Asian countries local coaches are but in Nigeria our local coaches are good and they would be world beaters if given the chance and necessary support. Besides, Seoul 88 Olympics was more of a youth tournament so that Zambian side beat a kindergaten Italian team |
if it hadnt been for the deflection the ball would have soared o'er the bar |
