Dos Santos is killing them Bafana Bafana. How come he couldnt break into Spurs squad |
I would have preferred we played a 4-1-2-1-2(diamond) formation. It is very attacking and that is what we need to be against the Argies; attacking. I would prefer he plays Kaita as the cover for the back four and play Obasi instead of Yakubu in the striking position because Obasi is very mobile. Yakubu is a box player like Darren Bent. |
All things being equal, Lagerback will play a 4-4-2 formation and the probable line up is: Vincent Enyeama Chidi Odiah Taiye Taiwo Danny Shittu Joseph Yobo Dickson Etuhu Sanni Kaita Obinna Nsofor Haruna Lukman Osaze Odemwingie Yakubu Aiyegbeni |
I just heard what will most likely be the team list from a very reliable source. It is very much like the team that played against North Korea. Nigeria will be playing a 4-4-2. Enyeama, Odiah, Taiwo, Yobo, Shittu, Etuhu, Kaita, Nsofor, Lukman, Yakubu, Odemwingie. This will be our starting XI except something out of the ordinary happens |
^^^ i dont know if Slovakia will make it to semis but i'm sure they'll make it out of this group even if it means the Azzuri wont make it. They are a good team and whats more, they have Marek Hamsik, an absolutely magical player |
England wont make it out of this group and if they do, they'll struggle. These guys are a congregation of average players, no beef. Algeria will be the surprise package in this group. Slovenia, well, England finds it hard against Eastern European teams. They lost to Romania in '98 and Euro 2000. They lost to Russia and Croatia en route to Euro '08 which they eventually didnt qualify for even though they got their pound of flesh against Croatia in the world cup qualifiers. They can beat the Yankees tho but Algeria and Slovenia will give them a run for their £. |
^^^^ sounds like suicide to me. u could have just said u dont like Nigeria. 3 defenders? Did u consider the quality of defenders in the team? 5 midfielders when the bulk of midfielders are defensive midfielders. At the end of day we'll be sitting back and bringing the fiery Argentinian attack upon us. I dont gotta tell you the outcome. I'll suggest the classic 4-4-2 or the 4-1-2-1-2. Enyeama, Odiah, Echiejile, Adeleye, Yobo(defence). Kaita(DM), Osaze(MR), Nsofor(ML), too bad we havent got a natural one. Lukman(AM), Martins(ST) Obasi(ST) |
Pauleta is Portugal's all time leading scorer |

Nigeria wins 5-0. Martins hatrick and a Yakubu brace. Go eagles, go! |
Amodu is Naija's best indigeneous coach, period |
Portugal's problem is that they have failed to find a good striker since the retirement of Pedro Pauleta |
apart from the usual suspects, watch out for these players in the 'Oranje Gang'. Ibrahim Afellay(PSV) and Danny De Zeuw(Ajax) |
I havent been hearing Wale lately on Inspiration fm lately. Their sports show is now being anchored by Ayodeji. Maybe this has got something to do with it. Most Nigerian sports journalists are football journalists so i can understand why he could not answer the French Open question. Tennis is not a popular sport here. Very few sports journalists could have answered that like Abiola Kazeem(Hi sports) or Dapo Daramola(sometimes appears on NTA but pretty much a freelancer). As for the number of teams participating in the World Cup, it is a very tricky question cos Africa has always produced 5 teams since '98. This is the first time Africa will be having 6 teams, cos of South Africa are the host. That being said, Wale needs to improve. I always knew he didnt know much about sports. |
better quality, especially when it comes to mens shirt. Nigeria made mens shirt come with very awkward and loud designs and at an unbelievable price. |
I bliv Yak. He can do it |
I bliv Yak. He can do it |
I'll go for Uruguay. They met in '02 and it was a goaless draw. Truthfully, i dont see Les Blues making it out of this group. Against a Uruguayan side with lethal finishers in Luis Suarez and Diego Forlan, France are dead. |
i would have loved to see Deji Omotoyinbo, Temisan Okomi and the new guy, Biola Kazeem, analyzing world cup matches instead of watching those Super sports analysts that dont know jack. |
^^^^ 120% agreed. If New Zealand scores a goal, hmm, thats going too far. If New Zealand manages to get the ball into any of their opponents 18 yard box, that will be a huge achievement on their part. |
New Zealand lost 0-2 to Chile. Two goals within three minutes in the 2nd half were enough to seal a win for Chile. |
if u dey naija, get one those MTN DSTV mobile phones. Better yet, take a world cup leave |
wat most Nigerians are looking for in a church are miracles. Very few go to church to hear God's word |
Chei, this is a big fat disgrace. Some of our sports analysts dont know jack when it comes to sports |
The vuvuzela sounds like an amplified bee buzz. The good thing is that i can reduce background noises on my tv, so i can hear less of the vuvuzela and more of the commentaries |
MATCH: Slovakia vs New Zealand DATE AND TIME: 15/06. 12:30 PM Nigerian Time VENUE: Rustenburg REFEREE: Jerome Damon (RSA) New Zealand and Slovakia get their World Cup campaigns underway with a first-ever meeting between the two sides. Minnows New Zealand are the tournament's rank outsiders. Any hopes of making an impact in South Africa rest on getting off to a flying start. Slovakia emerged from the qualifiers thanks to a solid defence and an ability to grind out victories in tight matches - a trend that could well continue in Rustenburg. MATCH: Italy vs Paraguay DATE AND TIME: 14/06. 7: 30 PM Nigerian Time VENUE: Cape Town Stadium REFEREE: Benito Archundia(Mexico) Italy has been a shadow of itself in the run-up to its defence of the World Cup title. The Italians have drawn three, lost one and won one of their last five matches, drawing against three World Cup qualifiers, losing to Mexico and beating Sweden. The lack of strength on the Italian attack has been shown up with just three goals scored during the last five matches. The Italian defence has looked good, however; conceding only three goals during this period. Paraguay has won two, drawn two and lost one of its last five World Cup warm-up matches. The Paraguayans' victories came against relatively lightweight teams, while draws were secured against South Africa and the Ivory Coast. The Paraguay attack has been in decent enough shape, scoring nine goals in five matches while the defence has been letting in a goal a game during the same period. HISTORY Italy and Paraguay have met just twice in the history of international football. The first of these meetings took place in the distant past, with Italy winning a 1950 World Cup clash between the two teams. The teams played their second match at the 2004 Olympics, with Paraguay scoring a 1-0 win. New Zealand will today take on Chile as part of its preparations for the World cup |
Serbia and Germany will most likely make it through to the last 16. |
