Endorsement or no endorsement, Eto'o has always been known for constanly trying to get the best out of his team mates. He did the same in 2006 world cup qualification campaign where he promised his team mates a certain amount of money if they qualified. Dont be surprised when you see the Indomitable Lions acting like they are on drugs. |
@ sauron every coach has his own share of bad signings. Fergie signed Veron, Heinze, Djemba Djemba, Kleberson, Alan Smith, Tim Howard, Zoran Tosic, Berbatov, Forlan; my God, the list is endless. Besides, Mark Hughes and Manuel Pelligrini have proven that having the fattest transfer budget does not guarantee success. |
@ tkb oya help me edit Amodu na, abeg him don over try. As for Nadal, make him bite that cup well well because him no go see cup bite for Wimbledon ![]() anyway Federer equal Sampras 286 weeks as no.1. Fed na chairman, u sef sabi na ![]() |
@tkb na u post am for Wiki |
@tkb Anybody can go on wiki and type stuff. Besides, the quote from Wiki says nothing about his performance at Orlando Pirates. |
Chidichris, i told you earlier that Amodu once coached Orlando Pirates in South Africa but you keep saying that Amodu is so technically inept that no one wants him some where else. I think you are one of those that will never see anything good in Amodu |
@tkb Amodu did not fare as badly as it was being portrayed plus he got the results. If you can equate Super Eagles performance under Amodu with the quality in the team then you'd see that Amodu did not do badly. People deliberately refused to see the good in what Amodu had to offer. @ chidichris how many African coaches have coached outside Africa? Like Keshi, Amodu has coached outside Nigeria. He coached Orlando Pirates in South Africa and he led them to the league title |
I'm not saying that Amodu's abilities as a coach are impeccable. My point is that Amodu is a good coach and does not deserve to have been treated terribly like he was treated. Even Berti Vogts that fared worse wasnt treated as bad as Amodu was treated. These anti Amodu's would never have been pleased unless a White skinned man was in charge. |
@ sagamite u're spot on. Most of the people that were excoriating Amodu were just band wagon followers. Some had valid reasons but most were just subscribing to popular opinion in order to blend in or not feel isolated. A classic case of the 'Spiral of Silence Theory'. Same thing goes for those that are against Kanu's inclusion in the team to SA. I had an arguement with some dude and he said Amodu is a bad coach because he doesnt stand up to dish instructions during the course of play. Of all reasons. How does standing up to give instructions guarantee a team of victory? Besides, isnt it possible that he might have discussed every possible scenario with his players in the dressing room? Some based their arguements on his not inviting certain as if it is not job to decide who nr who doesnt play. The most popular of the anti Amodu comments is 'he is technically incompetent'. As popular as this comment was, it was never explained and in cases where they try to, they go back to the previous two. |
Genius or fluke? none. Pragmatist |
Since when did copy and paste become a crime. Peeps round here attach too much importance to frivolities. @ topic: i wont blame Fabregas. Playing for Barca is beyond numerous endorsement deals or global recognition. Nothing makes a Catalan happier than playing for the Blaugurana. Its a culture and it stems from the communal nature of the Catalan society. |
@ ruddie i didnt know Vladimir Weiss made the team. I've seen play for Man City and yeah, i did mention Miroslav Stoch, read my post |
watch out for Slovakia. Eastern European teams are always unpredictable. No one saw Bulgaria coming in 94, Croatia in 98 and Ukraine had a good run as well in 2006. Great technique, great skill, lot of flair. There's a lot of quality in this Slovakian team. Jan Mucha is an excellent keeper. Just got transferred to Everton. Martin Skrtel, good defender on a good day. Marek Hamsik. The soul of Napoli. Great midfielder and great goal scorer. Very skilfull and also good with set pieces. Miroslav Stoch. Fantastic for Twente this season on loan from Chelsea. Pretty skillful coming from the right. Slovakia will give Italy a run for their money and will spring a lot of surprises |
omg! |
would love to. will u take a walk with me |
food! never been this hungry |
Is anyone into this band, Ashes divIde? They have this really great song called 'The Prey' |
no diss but Spurs havent got enough quality to play in the Champions League group stage |
any other transfer news? Is vaz te still at Bolton? and will Wilshere's loan be extended? |
@ naso i dont know from whence you got your info. Drogba has been operated upon successfully but he's still a major doubt for the world cup. Besides, do you think Drogba will be 100% okay when the tournament begins? He might as well have opted out like Mikel did since the whole world knows he's injured but he wont cos of the passion and commitment. Do you think Essien or Ballack will rule themselves out if they were in Mikel's shoe? |
@ chidichris u're probably right. Nigeria has become a land not worth dying for. But look at Drogba, he is refusing to give up. His injury just got patched up and he still wants to play despite the doctors not giving him the nod. |
"We have dropped Mikel from the World Cup squad after he told the team he did not want to put his career at risk as his knee injury has yet to fully heal after a recent surgery," team official Emmanuel Attah revealed on Saturday morning.what I can infer from this statement is that Mikel pulled out without a fight. When you put on the green and white jersey of Nigeria, its national interest first before personal interest. Nobody knows for sure if the injury will be aggravated. He pulled out because he doesnt want to aggravate his knee injury not because he sees himself becoming a weak link in the team. Too bad. Where is commitment these days in the Super Eagles? |
Dis Guy:my bad, i thought he was on 17 goals before this weekends match[quote honeric01:I know there have been away wins this season but it is still a rare occurrence. |
Results Bayelsa 3 vs 3sc 1 Gombe 2 vs Sharks 0 Gateway 1 vs Lobi 0 Kano Pillars 1 vs Kaduna 0 Dolphins 1 vs Sunshine 1 Wolves 2 vs Ocean Boys 0 Enyimba 2 vs Wikki 0 |
Ahmed Musa is now the all time highest goal scorer in the Nigerian league with 18 goals surpassing Ishaya Jatau and Okorondot's record of 17 goals |
^^^ i was equally surprised when i saw an away win. I cant remember the last time there was an away win in the league. But you know Zamfara are a 'wayo' team. I wont be surprised if they fixed it again |
world no 1 till wimbledon. |
Ranch bees 0 Zamfara 1. |
They need to learn how to utilise set pieces. The difference between 2 sides might just be a well taken freekick or a well delivered corner kick. Overall, it was a deceet display by the SE |
Now Federer wont break Sampras' long standing record of 283 weeks as no.1. |
^^^You are very right. Paraguay's Oscar Cardozo has been ruled out through injury. This will be a big blow for Paraguay http://www.goal.com/en/news/1863/world-cup-2010/2010/06/03/1956526/world-cup-2010-paraguay-striker-oscar-cardozo-will-be-ruled |
Italy played a 1-1 draw with Switzerland. Ilner opened scoring for Switzerland before Fabio Quagliarella levelled for the Azurri's. |
