Can't blame him really, blame the partners paying for such book from a fellow driver/partner despite all the free self-learning resources available through uber/taxify induction/on-boarding, training & re-training, you tube videos, Nairaland threads like this one and even coaching/mentoring sessions.

Some people are always out to take advantage of others' naivety.

You cannot really say the officer or bank has cheated you if they've provided info to you on all the available tenure and rates as at the time of your enquiry. You choose to deal at your selected tenure,rate and time.
You could have walked away to try another time, day , branch or ban altogether. Any of these could have presented you with a better (or worse) offer but you decided to take what was available to you at the time.
Nobody cheated you really!

Similar experience i've had at Stanbic Admiralty branch in Lekki, within the same period I have successfully done three different TBills transaction at FBN.
I will have to try another Stanbic branch.

You may be surprised by the question. But that's what some apparently clueless customer care agent told me I needed to invest in the secondary market. The person told me I can only do primary market with less than that amount.

If there were any limitations, such are more likely to apply to the primary market. I was aware that the minimum for that was announced at N50m months back. Still, people still do lower amount. So I knew the agent had to be clueless.

I'm amazed at how people seem to get secondary bills at Stanbic with relative ease. I went there four consecutive days two weeks ago for same, but it was one story or another as to why I can't get the TB.

I actually got the erroneous or deceptive customer care response after visits to bank failed to yield something positive. To think I opened the account recently solely for this purpose. Fund movement looks inevitable as things stand.

Just for the sake of info, could you also find out what rates they have listed today for secondary market? Thanks

You've made some good points but in reference to the part in bold - riders didn't ask for Uber's ridiculous price slash,scrapping of UberSelect and reduction in vehicle entry to year 2000.
They were generally happy with paying that lil extra for top quality rides and experience (vehicle + driver makes the experience worthwhile) and even moreso for the UberSelect category. Uber (and Taxify) choose to downgrade, so the rider will not mind. now the vehicles are crappy and majority of the drivers are ... (insert anything )

I don't support the way the drivers are cutting corners, but uber really needs to increase its fares or this things will continue. I once picked up a rider from international airport at 10pm to Magodo phase 2 end only to be given 1300 after 25% commission and 400 naira in toll.

I was really down when I saw the fare, but what could I do, even the fuel burnt was almost more than that if not more, I drive for myself so no problem took it as a personal loss. What happens to a driver that has 40k to deliver weekly?
It's either they find a way to force the partners to reduce their cut or uber also reduces its commission and increases fares if not, more people will continue to lament.
Lastly the average Nigerian is greedy. They all want 2010 and above cars yet they want to keep paying the ridiculous uber fares its not possible.
If you buy a car of 5 million at 90k per week after deduction how many years will you use to refund the money if it's a loan?

You should note that in the true sense of it the rating is (or should be) for the entire experience - driver, vehicle, ETA, driving, courtesy etc.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but judging a driver by his ratings isn't really fair. I drive extremely well and throughout my stay on uber I never got a complain about my driving. But my ratings were low because I showed up in an almera. Only a few people didn't mind the almera. Just letting you see things from another perspective.

T-bilss vs MMF vs Fixed deposit (good rate)

Fixed Deposit: So far from my little research renmoney could do 20%p.a. on 10m, this will fetch me about 313k in 60days. I don't know if other institutions will beat that but that profit of 313k will form my minimum/base for comparison.

So my question to the experts in the house is: Can i do better than that with T-bills or MMF given the short tenure? If yes, how?

Note: I am definitely liquidating at the end of the 60-70days tenure to utilise the funds.I need to make a decision quickly and push the funds out.

What's rude in asking to see pictures of the car on whatsapp first only to get there and be shown another car, that the one sent on whatsapp has just been taken,

Call it rude or foolish or whatever. If partners can make demands like 40k upfront. 500k deposit, a guarantor who is a chief judge ...then I think I can also - with neg I take beg self, that please if your car isn't uber ready don't post it. It's not asking to much.

Its not easy at all. I tried. I started by 10am close 10:34pm. Made N29,700 fuel N6,500. Thanks to taxify. Its was back to back. I had to off my app to eat. Taxify to take over

Your e-haling company (Uber or other) doesn't even recognise your third party agreement or contract , which means you can operate as you deem fit and provided both parties (vehicle owner and willing driver) can agree. So show me the reference to your said agreement which states the weekly rental has to be paid after the vehicle has been USED.

The vehicle owner (investor) may demand advance payment/deposit. What you should be concerned about is "how did we get here"? Ans: Driver defaults and stories that touch.

Just get the car yourself, and you don't have to make any advance/deposit payment to nobody. Simples!

Uber business is a partnership. The vehicle is a liability.

The said vehicle is a used car.

The first partner (owner of vehicle) leases out his/her car to the second partner (driver) for the purpose of e-hailing.
The driver is to deliver weekly after he must have USED the said vehicle for E-hailing purposes.

This is the only agreement I understand.

Was there any official announcement or communication from Uber that they resolved operational license issue with LASG? I don't think so, so Uber operations remains illegal in Lagos State until this is resolved.
