Here is an example of a building with flat roof.
This five bedroom flat has a flat roof, as you can see from the picture, the roof is completely hidden and other building geometry is used to provide the necessary esthetics

Its Simple! Pitched Roof Requires more Wood and and must be Stone coated, to Fit into this age and time. While hidden roof should be Aluminium Roofing sheet with almost half the wood Required for a Pitched roof.

I completely agree with you on below points.
1. Hidden roof is more technical to build
2. Pitched/Sloped roof requires less maintenance
3. Hidden roof gives more aesthetic look

The hidden parapet wall roof is actually my personal preference but from all I have heard it is significant more expensive, so I am surprised to read the part in bold that it is indeed cheaper. This i will like to confirm.

Hello Boss,

The thing about Hidden/Flat roof and Pitched Roof is Preference. Most CLients I work for just Tend to Prefer that Hidden Roof.

In terms of Pros and Cons, the Hidden Roof is Somewhat Cheaper, but A bit more Technical than the Pitch Roof. Also the Pitch is requires less Maintenance than the Hidden roof.

Note also in terms of Aesthetics, the looks depend on the client, as some Like the Pitch roof while other like the Hidden roof. But from my own Perspective, Though Both Roof styles are nice, I am Know that Hidden roof Buildings tend to look very unique and nice for a longer period of time than the Pitched Roof buildings, this is because lesser Buildings have Hidden roof so you don't see it too much to get too used to it.

Good thread you got going here, very nice designs on show as well.
Observing your designs I can see you tend more towards the hidden roof design generally, more like a parapet wall roof in most cases.

My questions are;
1. What are the pros and cons of the parapet wall roof vs the monopitch (slopped) roof style or other standard styles out there? I am more interested in the comparison btw parapet walled roof & monopitch.

2. Any substantial cost difference btw those two designs mentioned above, assuming the same surface area is to be roofed?

Auto windows used to be a requirement in the days when the lowest entry was 2010 and also when it was lowered to 2006, the car wouldn't even pass inspection then. So you should check if that's still the case or waived when it was lowered further to 2000 entry.
The info used to be on the website then, so that may be a good place to check.

Me think the problem is that the man who did the 91days treasury bills did not know that the rate given him is for one year and not for 91days.

If @cyberwaver had revealed the actual rate for the 91days tenor instead of writing 10%+, it would have been easy to actually confirm the interest that should have been left in the man''s account.

The other problem is that the investor did not know that Stanbic bank does not deduct the whole money invested but leaves the upfront interest in the account debiting the account only with the discounted amount.


My very good guess is that the investor invested N5m for 91days at the rate of between 13% & 13.25% and about N4,838,000 was deducted from his account thereby leaving about N162,000(his up front interest) in his account which is correct.
He is most likely a first timer and thinks the about 13% rate is for 91days instead of dividing it by approximately 4 to get the actual rate for 91days.

He probably went into it thinking he would get N684,000 in 91days

Just purchase a software for estimating cost and key in your figures and it will give you the total cost and quantity of each building material required.
