1/ You own naija used fleets are no “death trap” cos you fixed all these (assuming that’s all true) but another person’s vehicle is a death trap IF it’s naija used

2/ IF truelly you have to change all those components and maybe in some cases do body work to upgrade the car, then perhaps it is arguable whether you are smarter than someone that adds a little token to your combined cost and choose to get a Toks outright.

3/ I find it quite interesting to see a driver/driver partner bluntly advice fellow drivers against taking up HP( better reward in the long run) irrespective of the T&Cs vs your your promise of relatively higher driver weekly earnings/commission which has a big *asterik on its long term sustainability going by the factors Ij play in the business environment in question.

So i have always wanted to ask.. what are the required setbacks (front, rear & sides) in Lagos going by standard regulation? i believe this should be a standard number that doesn't change unless the regulation is reviewed, but i have seen different numbers being quoted depending on who you speak to.

I'm aware it is commonplace to make two separate drawings for approval and design, but let's assume i want to use just one drawing that will be the design and as well be in compliance with the regulations.

Doing two fully detached units. One on front (A) and the other behind (B) divided by a dwarf fence, separate gate entrances. then what should be the setback for;
1/ front fence to building A in front
2/ between the buildings A & B
3/ rear building B to the fence behind

what CBN quote are discount rates, with these u can compute true yield;

True yield = (discount rate * 100)/(1 - discount rate)

eg, for discount rate of 17.4% u get (0.174 * 100)/(1 - 0.174) = 21.1% , this is d ROI on ur true principal.

True principal is the real money u are investing.

True principal = apparent principal * (1 - discount rate)

eg, for discount rate of 17.4%, apparent principal of 10m (the available money in ur account)
True principal = 10m * (1 - 0.174) = 8.26m

In other words u invest 8.26m to make 10m at end of tenure, a 21.1% ROI.

It's just a design to aid aesthetics. The block column is usually bigger, although less weight when compared to the concrete column. You can incorporate lots of twists and designs if you are using block columns, you can drop from 9" to 6" to 5" blocks as you go up and all will be easier and cheaper to do. The concrete needs adequate preparations right from the foundation and base till the parapet.

Hi, what is the difference between this block column and the normal one made with plank?
the block will obviously make the column size bigger, but are there other reasons?

Could have been a lot better in my personal opinion, considering the trend.

Sometimes you have to insist on those bank officers to keep checking what else is available before you settle. Normally they will just reel off a few TB rate/tenure to you among the lot available and request you to choose the one you want.

If you had this transaction yesterday, just so you know I did 14.95% for 51days yesterday with same FBank. The officer started by listing out some not-so-good numbers but i insisted on NEXT until the above was mentioned. I remember they mentioned this 91d @ 13% you got and i passed it.

Personally i will not go below 14.5% for sec market, and so far it has worked in the multiple TBs I've purchased this period. PERSONALLY.

I have just received a soil test investigation report for an upcoming project and have posted the summary here. It is a mixed development but this report refers to a proposed 6 nos mini flat on 4 floors (ground floor for parking only + 3 floors of 2 units each).
Although the drawings including structural are still being finalized, what can you make of the Geo-technical soil test summary?

I'll advice your friend or you (I suspect this inquiry may be indirectly for you ) keep the job... depending on what your running cost is (transport to work etc.) and if you're happy with the present job.
You said over 70k monthly which is about 17.5k weekly. Going by the indication of the majority of the drivers here, you will struggle to consistently make that much net profit weekly if you don't own the car and paying rental.

So here is the issue, nobody can categorically and sincerely say XYZ is the net amount drivers make weekly. I suggest you read this thread backwards as far as you can and you'll see a lot of drivers looking for cars to drive, some complaining that they don't make much money while just a few come out clean to admit they make so much and some even post proof.

Largely due to insincerity we are unable to accurately gauge the profitability solely from what is said here, you need other indices to be able to make such informed decision as quitting your job.

My thinking is that if drivers indeed make over 17k weekly NET to themselves after paying rental & fuel and do not do vehicle maintenance, then they should not feel it is unfair for partners/owners to demand 40k weekly rent.

A friend is about to quit his job (where he is being paid a little above 70 every month) to dabble into this taxify and uber stuff .. Now my question is since he will be the driver, how much (minimum) is he likely to make per week after maintenance and all other expenses have been deducted?

Also what challenges should he be aware of for now...

As he plans to start this perhaps on or before the end of this month.
