LOL. There are some Nairalanders whose comments I'd gladly give my left hand to read on this issue. But I know they'll avoid this thread like a plague. |

She seems to have made a valid point though. This is why organisations need to have internal feedback mechanisms so that staff can air their grievances rather than on social media. This is so avoidable. |

"Free healthcare"? How is it going to be paid for?
A serious government would have prioritised health insurance instead. |

The depreciation of the naira was always going to have a knock-on effect on our economy. No surprises here.

Politics › Re: What Went Wrong With Fashola? by Meiji(m): 11:34am On Feb 09, 2016 |
Yhinkss: There are a lot we seem not to understand or maybe we are interested in focusing on the negatives. There are no develoment without pain and sacrifices all what we nigerians want is to continue getting better things at their comfort zones First of all the price template was not fashioned by Fashola it was a design from the previous government for an ideal running of the system. If u listened to what BRF said that it was the way it had suppose to be with the price but the last government did not implement it. The Disco recently declared to divest from the buy if the pricing is not improved because they are not making return and it is preventing them in investing more and even exanding as required by the government agreement on them. How can u run a business without making profits? So accordingly the new pricing will now make them stand well in terms of rendering and expanding after a particular time in agreement with the govt. We only want everything to suit us like oyibo without making any effort like them . When we travel to other developed nations do you realise how much other nations are paying for various taxes that are non existent in nigeria we just like everything free. Some social service is coming as promised and we are happy but how many are ready to pay for anything just like other nations or do you all complain or refuse to pay if you travel out especially South Africa Let's compare Nepa to diesel or inverter it is still larger very low so there is a bit of support from the citizenry for our own benefits At least someone here is thinking. Thank God. |

Yazmin: Perhaps the lawlessness started when the civilians blocked the road and disallowed constituted authority from accessing a Federal Road for no reason other than being lawless. IMO They deserve what they got to a large extent....
The military became lawless and went beyond human comprehension and should also be given their due punishment .... So they deserve to be killed because they blocked a military convoy. Very what? Very good. |

Politics › Re: Fayemi To Update Website With N795 Million by Meiji(m): 1:13pm On Jan 15, 2016 |
Laid2001: It all depends on the type of platform and software to be used.
For example, it will cost millions of dollars for any conglomerate to develop SAP Enterprise system. Yet, most IOCs and conglomerate had to do it because it helps to save money eventually. As it helps in integrating all arms of a company together.
We are not talking of your day to day blog site here. I am even amazed by many ignoramuses online here shouting they are in ICT sector and saying they can do it for so and so amount. How can you say so when you don't even know the content and scope of what is required.
Another scenario is if the ministry wants to really go computerized and had to buy stand alone software for each staff or have to pay for software licenses par users. Some software licenses can cost up to $1k per user. With up to 2 thousand user in the ministry that is already $2 million (N400 million) and that is only one software.
Where I work, Software licenses alone cost millions of dollars annually. Yet we make our money back from our product! But the line item doesn't say anything about "software" - it says "website update". WEBSITE UPDATE. Can you please read? |

I'm not a fan of wanton abuse of elected officials (as opposed to constructive debate) but it's quite rich that a party that took to such abuse with regrettable frequency while they were in the opposition is now unable to tolerate similar treatment now that they're in power.
Reminds me of Omojuwa who once called GEJ a "pig" (and never once apologised for it) and then after May 29 started preaching against calling Buhari names.
This hypocrisy just makes you wonder. |
