Oshiomhole's time as a governor is almost up. I think the post should go to a governor who is just about to commence his second term.

With the projects that are on-going in Lekki axis, I am fearing for that axis in 10years time.

Airport, FTZ, Refinery and Seaport - you can imagine the impact of all those projects in years to come.
Impact on the roads, impact on business activities, impact on the productivity of Lagosians...
PoliticsRe: Construction Work Begins On N325bn Lekki Seaport by Meiji(m): 12:42pm On May 18, 2015
Boss13:
You have a point. Our town planners are very poor in planning. Traffic in lekki is already congested. I hope they will build alternative route to this seaport.
Let's hope so. Because given the fact that our railway sector isn't really up and running, the Lekki roads will inevitably be plied by trailers and tankers (assuming we continue to import fuel).

Let's hope the Lekki expressway doesn't suffer the same fate as Apapa-Oshodi, else Lagos will become unbearable to live in.

It is not FG's port.
Building of ports is on the exclusive list. No one can build a port without FG approval.
PoliticsRe: Construction Work Begins On N325bn Lekki Seaport by Meiji(m): 11:50am On May 18, 2015
It's like those Lekki people haven't experienced what the Apapa people are experiencing. When TRAFFIC starts on that road, you will beg the Federal Government to relocate the port.
PoliticsRe: Can An Ex-president Run For Political Office?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Meiji(m): 3:42pm On May 15, 2015
Tolexander:
something you could have done to justify your claim, instead of the baseless post.

Politically wrong, how?
Will the party refuse to give them the form to contest cos it is against the rule of the party or wrong under the constitution of the nation?

Morally wrong, why?
It is a sin or not right?

Let me give you the examples of US Presidents that ran for an elective post after leaving office;

John Quincy Adams, the 6th President came back to seek an elective post to become a member of the lower house. became a member for 17years.

Andrew Johnson, Abraham Lincoln successor and 17th President still went back to the senate after escaping conviction though impeached.

John Tyler, 10th President, was a provisional member of the Confederate Congress and was eventually elected as a Confederate senate member.

Back your claim up if it isn't an African Mentality
Even William Howard Taft became a Supreme Court Justice too (I know it doesn't qualify strictly as a "political appointment", but still...)

Well I want to believe GMB won't pander to their interests to our collective detriment, anyway.

Will you shut up before I land you an e-slap. Nigeria lost a golden opportunity to set the country on a part to greatness but awoof and the spirit of parasitism didn't allow you myopic idiotas to let it succeed. Today, Gej has been proven right. Shame on you all that participated in the 'occupy Nigeria ' protests. Shebi, e don dey clear for una eyes.
Let see how baba one chance will handle the subsidy removal. Meanwhile, I heard Osun state is for sale? Is it true
And where in my post did I argue for subsidy to remain? You expected Nigerians to keep quiet when the government chose the 1st of January (a day when many people had travelled to their villages) to remove fuel subsidy (thereby doubling prices overnight)? What can be more callous than that? Is that how to handle such a painful (though necessary) reform programme?

I insist Jonathan bungled the process of subsidy removal because he didn't want to do the hard work of carrying everyone along. Had he sat down with the labour unions and civil society to agree on the need for removal and a phased approach that would have removed the subsidy gradually (like I suggested) the subsidy would have been long gone by now. But your oga wanted to form macho and remove it in one fell swoop, without considering how painful it would be for ordinary Nigerians or even trying to get public buy-in before taking such a drastic step. Don't blame Nigerians for reacting the way they did.

Leadership 101 on Change Management: Any attempt at radical change without buy-in from stakeholders will FAIL.

You can keep abusing me, it won't change anything.

So if we had voted PDP then the traffic gridlock would have disappeared, or what are you saying? Did Jimi Agbaje bring forward a plan to end traffic jams in Lagos?

PoliticsRe: Angola To End Petrol Subsidies As Oil Drop Bites by Meiji(m): 5:31pm On May 07, 2015
Angola has been gradually increasing fuel prices in recent months and has saved 110 billion kwanza ($1 billion) from reduced subsidies since October last year, the statement said.
This is the approach Jonathan should have taken in 2012, but he insisted on a one-off removal - on the FIRST OF JANUARY.

GEJ had an excellent opportunity to get rid of the subsidy regime but he blew it.

But the defendants (the NASS) could then argue that as a private citizen he no longer has the locus standi to pursue such a suit.

Anyway let us wait and see.

…orders NASS to maintain status quo till June 18

ABUJA – The Supreme Court has stopped the National Assembly from taking further steps towards amending the ‎1999 constitution.

In a ruling this morning,‎ a seven-man panel of justices of the apex court, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, ‎Justice Mahmud Mohammed, ordered the National Assembly to maintain status quo on the matter until June 18.

The apex court further directed the issuance of hearing notice on the NASS for it to appear on that date to respond to the suit that was lodged against the proposed alterations to the constitution, by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Details soon...

But by June 18 Jonathan will no longer be president. Will the plaintiff be listed as "President Goodluck Jonathan" or "Goodluck Jonathan"?

PoliticsRe: Meet The First Nigerian Female ISIS Terrorist by Meiji(m): 3:37pm On May 05, 2015
One would have thought that the violent intolerance of groups like ISIS would only appeal to those with a distressed childhood or those who grew up in want, poverty or deprivation. I'm still yet to understand how people who grew up in an atmosphere of love and (relative) material comfort can be susceptible to such hateful ideology. From the Mutallab guy, Aminu Ogwuche, now this lady.

Someone help me out here.
