SeeWahala:Not only direct employment is needed in Dangote. The refinery will spur setting up of other industries, which will be employing people. Just wait and see. You can imagine a packaging company being set up to sell drums and cans to Dangote What of the one that will be printing the sleeves put on the packaging? What of the ones that would be supplying the inks, adhesives etc used in printing and pasting to packaging sleeves? What do the transporter that will go and deliver the printed sleeves? Etc. The chain continues like that. Even if not all new companies are established, the existing ones that would service the refinery would be expanded and they would need more hands. Those expiating ones too would need additional companies that would supply and service them. You now see why we have to be industrialized. All our governors are just busy s-tealing states money. No single industry they establish for people to work there. They prefer to build estates in Abuja, Lagos, PortHacourt etc that nobody would buy or rent. They prefer to take the money out of the country or convert it foreign currencies and put additional pressure on Naira. |
nairalanda1:Show us the template you used in calculating this. Share it with us here since you are the financial analyst for Dangote. Stipe spewing all you heard on Arise TV and Channels TV here. You don’t know Dangote’s Bill of Quantity on each product and you are just talking whaaaaa. Share any proof for us to know how you arrived at the calculation or you st.F up for life. Stop misleading the already lost sheep. |
Realtruth2023:Those are Lord Luggard-era refineries. I don’t think you know what Dangote built. Though not as big or sophisticated as those of Saudi Aramco etc o but it’s trailing them. You don’t know what they have considered before even they started the design and the provisions they have made for modifications. You thought that place was put up by local people. There’s hardly no one world-class consulting firm that didn’t work on that refinery. Do you know what USD $19billion can buy? USD$1 billion alone is equivalent to 1,300 trillion Naira. That’s is a trillion Naira in 1,300 places. You think they just assembled pipes together and painted them? Its control center alone is worth your state’s budget for 2024. |
Realtruth2023:Lots of them are mu_mu. |
Sleekfingers:He didn’t blame is governor Ms for building unsafe, substandard roads or even failing to build roads at all. |
lordm:And water fountain. |
pacespot:Hold your past and present state governors responsible for your life that has improved or that has not improved. Don’t forget to ask all civil servants in your state on how they corner your state’s resources. Dangote is not FG. He is not out to better your life. Ask your parents too what they have done for you. Leave DANGOTE alone. Why are you feeling bad? |
Lanretoye:It’s you that your IQ is low. Get off that jealousy table you are. Give it to the man. If e easy, run am. Dangote has enough to sell to Nigeria and export. Our people too will buy and go and sell in Ghana that you mentioned. Nigeria’s market is huge than all West African market, combined. Do you think DANGOTE won’t spend before he would take the products to Ghana etc? Rather, it is people that would be coming to buy it in Lagos. It’s the buyers that would arrange their own logistics. Use your senses. You all this 1997 to 2005 kids who are on NL. Lots of you only went to school to waste your time. You know nothing about constructive arguments. You argue the way palm-wine tappers argue. You contribute based on sentiments and from tr1ba1 angle. The guy has chosen to build his refinery in Lagos. There’s nothing we can do. He reserves the right to do it the way he wants. Also, we can’t have 2 presidents at a time. Those who came 2nd and 3rd and 4th should go and try their luck next time. Nobody is marginalizing any region. If you can’t join them at the center table, you can’t eat from the fat bouvet meals. Face front and spit out the 8tred you have for DANGOTE and people from other region. |
gare:PMS will come soon. Dangote is waiting for Marketers and NNPC to nearly exhaust what they have in stock (storage) before he can be allowed to start selling. That’s the agreement they reached. Don’t forget some shipments of PMS are still coming since NNPC could not, categorically, determine when Dangote would commence operation. DANGOTE may not start cracking PMS until April 2024 - earliest. |
EconomistXplain:We will still have balance of payment deficit because we are not industrialized and we export less but all the same, it will improve our balance of trade. Let all past and present governors of our states too invest in something similar like this. Let’s celebrate our little wins. It’s not only DANGOTE that the refinery will benefit. Lots of companies in oil and gas will spring up and lots of other companies will start serving one another and the multiplier effect will be huge. We can imagine what women who would be selling foods at the gate to motor boys and truck loader would be making in a day. Some of them would need extra hand who would need to come from Akwaibom, Calabar, Kwara, Kano, Benue etc. POS shops nko? Recharge card sellers nko? The effect is too huge to be mentioned. It’s not easy to build and commission a refinery. 70 years to come, Africans would still be using fuel-run vehicles. Africa is far from electric vehicle penetration. That’s the simple truth. |
solex75:They lack simple knowledge of econs. Education has been bastardized before most of them were born. All they grew up to know is music, skit, to blow, we are outside, rosco, pablo, you dey whine, tick-tock, instablog etc. |
Richtaiwo:Africa has its own quota to pollute and it has always been underutilized because we are not industrialized. We could have been selling our own quota for money to industrialized countries like the US and China for some $$$$$$ but we chose not to. So the little flaring you are is seen is extremely insignificant to what industrialized nations are releasing into the atmosphere. More than 35% of China’s energy source is from coal and you can imagine how dirty and toxic coal could be. Add this to it: Nigeria does not even account for 0.00000000000% of global pollution being reported. Our airspace is among the cleanest in Africa. The pollution in Pakistan, India, Bangladeshi, Cambodia etc are second to none. Mind you, these are none industrial pollution o.
|
ZKOSOSO:If the refinery were to be situated in the that area, the flaring won’t be toxic because those in Warri, Kaduna and PortHacourt have never been toxic. Because it’s now in another zone, the flaring is toxic. See hypocrisy at play. Lots of babies are here on NL. |
sukkot:😁 |
ppogba:Ignore him, my brother. He is pouring now what he watched on Arise TV being spewed by bitter analysts who don’t like how things are going because their candidate came 3rd in an election. If even DANGOTE is operating at 40% capacity of the 650k bpd, it would still meet and surpass local demands. He thought DANGOTE and his teams of world-class advisers are du.mb like him. What would be consumed in Lagos is higher than what 5 West African countries will consume. Our West African neighbors would still rely on smu.ggl.ing of our fuel until one of them is able to build refinery. More so, they don’t need one because they don’t have fuel. They would rather eat crumps from our leftovers, after our market is satisfied. |
sukkot:You bera. That’s my prayer o, even though na o obodo oyibo I dey. I feel sad seeing Naira on a free-fall. I want things to be ok back home. |
coputa:Don’t mind that mumu. They are all poorer students if Economics. Anything they here is their wish. It’s doesn’t go in line with known an known laws under macro and micro economic. |
Loveth160:I like Wike for saying this truth. A lot of our engineers who design all these mediocre shanties they call projects are not exposed at all. Lots of them have never traveled and stayed longer abroad. They just go on Umrah or Jerusalem or a 2-week Dubai trip. 90% of our civil servants are extremely local and unexposed to modern exploits. Our government needs to be sending them on holidays abroad every year so go and see how things are done in a saner environment. We would see that Wike even told the Chinese contractors that they (those Chinese) can never accept such designs. And come to think of it: what they spend on these wuruwuru projects is far more than what Europeans, Americans and Far East Asian countries spend on modern superb projects. I will love if Wike and extend the project delivery date for the contractor to be able to pull down those rub.bish called projects and bring in modern and effective designs. Trains stations that Europeans built in 18th century are far better than what Nigeria os building in 2024. Who swe-ar for this country sef? |
Onyiridike:Show us the facilities, local boy that is swallowing rub.bish |
Quodseverismete:Exactly, my thought. It’s those wounded lions. They want to cause chaos. |
nairalandkachy1:Those are the kind of jatijati Bills they will keep passing till their tenure ends. They won’t pass serious Bills that would move the state forward. Go to state and federal Houses too - you will meet the same thing. |
dykedarlyn:May you live long. The gate is just a decoy. Another poultry is what you see there. Go inside and confirm things for yourself. No recent or modern facilities. They lobbied to get the license, after being advised that running private uni is lucrative. |
Anybody who wants to do taxi business should go and register with government but not only with taxi union. They shouldn’t be paying only Busstop or garage fees and be calling themselves taxi operators we want proper registration in a well maintained database. We don’t want to know whether or not you are using it for side hustle. Get registered. Also they need designated number plates to easily identify any oncoming vehicle as a taxi. The red paint on number plates they use in identifying commercial vehicles in Nigeria is not enough. There should be dedicated number series for taxis and other commercial vehicles. In Austria, for example, all their taxi plates end with -TX. You can also check the taxi driver’s info and his passport. If Wike can maintain adequate database of these taxis, easily passengers can quickly check on that portal to be sure a taxi is truly an authentic taxi. The earlier we take our security serious, the better and quicker we will have rest of mind after which foreign investors can start coming. Let our governors, who are there just stea1ing, do similar, responsive, database for all commercial vehicles in their states. We can then have a harmonized (one common) database for all our vehicles in Nigeria. This shouldn’t cost more. It should be affordable for them to pay. They should link every driver’s NIN details and BVN although these would be hidden for (from) passengers to see. I am certain they won’t want to register because they will be afraid of paying tax. That’s going to be their insinuation. I don’t know what our transport ministers do in 8 years. This is not rocket science. FRSC can help with database. Nigerian vehicle owners should go and update their details with FRSC and licensing offices. Those that require getting new number plates I suggested should go and get. It has to be an enhanced number plate. No vehicle should be allowed to use plastic number plate. Whoever makes use of plastic number plate should be charged with criminal offense, which could attract longer years in jail or hefty fines in tens of thousands. At least, every average Nigerian now has an average phone that can access internet. Those that don’t have phone can be helped out to check authenticity of our vehicles on our roads. With our level of IT usage in banking, Nigeria tied with Turkey as the most countries in the world, when it comes to mobile banking usage Why can’t we use this to our advantage.

The guy nor try on dis. I guess he influenced the contract. He could have delivered though but he ought not to have meddled in getting the contract to his formal company. He needs, at least, 7 years to cool off before he could be said not to have anything to do with company. He was busy defending the company when asked on Channels TV. Throughout his interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV, the minister was restless immediately Seun threw sought clarifications on the allegations. The minister couldn’t even present/demonstrate well the new immigration portal, when asked to do a demo of the portal. Even though he is no longer a director there after his resignation in 2019, when probed further in court, the court can still lift the veil of incorporation and set aside the company then go after the company directors. There are several decided cases to buttress this. He should be fired, if found guilty. Let’s start making them scapegoats and using them to set good examples. Before we sack nearly 85% of Nigeria’s civil servants, the remaining 15% will sit up. We can recruit to replace those the1v.es who have kept dragging Nigeria backward. |
Juraj:Our own offer letter and employment contract are lumped up unlike what they are used to in Europe which is only employment contract. Tell your friend to see how for sample employment contract in the European country he is visiting. He should take the sample to his company in Nigeria and tell or ask them if they can draft an employment contract for him, using that sample as a guide. |
You got the certificate quickly because it’s in the Northern Nigeria you registered. Go and try that in the south. You would pay heavily, b.r1be and still see whenh before you get the certificate. North is more considerate than South and North gives little problem when interacting with government agencies there. |
maureensylvia:To add to it: so that he doesn’t contaminate your products through his contact with them. It’s good you run food handlers’ test on your staff, at least, once in a year and keep the records. Do this, wether or not anybody asks for it. You will thank me later. TB is part of tests they will carry out on ALL your staff, including YOU. Yes, you your pretty you, Maureen. 😁. |
treesun:Since they would keep hoarding prepaid meters, how will they be profitable? |
OdogwuHappyMan:Hello brotherly, Please go through all the websites of those hostels I mentioned under which you quoted me. You may add these to your search list, if I haven’t mentioned them before: https://www.home4students.at/wohnheime-ubersicht/wohnheime-klagenfurt/ https://www.stuwo.at/en/ https://www.zebkiehousing.com/i/single-room-apartment-with-private-bathroom-and-kitchen-in-klagenfurt/ CAVEAT: Do your own due diligence well, as I do not vouch for any of the hostels or accommodation providers I could have mentioned here or elsewhere. Be sure you are dealing with a legitimate home provider, landlord or house agent etc before you make payment or sign any accommodation contract so as to enhance your chances of getting your RP approved and also not to loose money to s..cammers or fra_udsters. |
There’s no single bank in Nigeria that doesn’t do round-tripping. Our banks are parts of the reasons Naira is weak today. Mira from billions they make from forex that they report bogus revenue/turnover and profits. After this investigation, let’s ban importation of frivolous things. How can someone be importing small plastic abèbè (hand fans) in 100s of containers ni o, from China? That’s just one out of hundreds of thousands things we can manufacture here even with our generators at cheaper prices. Like I keep saying, we need to ban operating of domiciliary accounts too. Banning this will make Naira stronger. A lot of Nigerians are currency speculators. They have no other job and they love large of proceeds they realize from weakening Naira. |
Audio. Na now dey break? |
Meklex:Ok sir. No wahala. Or you may consider returning the door and picking a size that goes with the entrance measurements. I doubt if the seller accepts returns sha. |
