Fujiyama:Boss 😁. It’s a request. Let’s see if Tinubu would approve it. Then we can start to put him in those people’s category. I would still give Tinubu one year to do all he is doing and then assess him, based on my little understanding. |
Lawalemi:Leaders are clueless. They are not magicians as well. Youths too are mo.rons. Until they come out across all 36 States and FCT and cause a stand-still for nearly half a year, that’s when we will all know we need to reset. We endure too much. Everything is rotten and youths are still online looking for shorts on aphrodisiac or watching useless skits while their lives burn away. Listen to Showore and take your country back. Nobody will give it to you. Those politicians and civil servants are cowards. But since nobody is challenging them, they will continue taking everybody for rides. It doesn’t take 200 years to come out of the woods. China got transformed under 40 years. UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc didn’t spend 50 years before they broke-through. . |
When I talk about our civil servants, people think I don’t know what I am saying. Civil servants are our first problem in Nigeria till this evening and they will remain our first problem forever if we don’t have them checked. Lots of underarms dealing going on, a per-second basis, every day across ministries. One can imagine what Nigeria loses every day to these people. |
Instead of Nigerian youths to stand up against bad rulership, they would rather prefer to protest and request justice for their fallen musical hero or demand DNA test of someone’s baby. Their future has been messed up with but they don’t know. Those who tricked us into this type of democracy shall never make heaven. Democracy where a governor is powerful than citizens. Where politicians can do anyhow and electorates have no choice. ☹️ |
I doubt if this deputy too has anything in his head. Otherwise, he should prove me wrong. We want unprecedented infrastructural development. Not monthly N30k salary. Let him open up Ondo State. Affordable housing Mini power grids for communities. Good roads and bridges (where compulsory). Rebuild all those public schools and healthcare facilities. Those could even help him secure another ticket for his party, while is oga is recuperating. The state has the fund. I want his oga to come back pat him on the back that he did well. |
Se na after this presentation the demolition of the building start? |
NLcivilian:You are a conqueror my brother. Don’t think of ending it. You are almost breaking through. I had stayed 7 years, after graduation, without a job and I know what you mean. Just think of a little side hustle for now. You can change your location to a more cheaper place for now, while you shoot from afar. I am sure you would hit it. Everything is gonna be alright. |
Omoluabi16:May you live longer. We don’t say they shouldn’t ste.al but let them take care of the masses. People are suffering. They don’t mind wasting billions of Naira on this, just to prevent some enemies from sitting because they too want to remain in power. |
After how many years? Sets of failures. They only know how to pay monthly salaries, steal, and barely scratch ground for development then wait for 8 years to choose another d.aunce that will come and st.eal. Dem don see us finish. |

Whether from the report or from you. It’s off tangent. The report is not, officially, from GSK. I was an insider for close to 2 decades at GSK and I still have access to people and info across GSK businesses in Africa and Europe. We shouldn’t be heightening people’s apprehension. |
INTEGRITYA1:Nope. They have best sales force around and have bulks to throw on ads and promo. It’s just too costly to operate in Africa and the ease of doing business is not there. Where a market is not delivering 5% of the group revenue but headaches from such market is more than 95% of the group’s headaches, you should know that Board would resolve to wind down from such market and look for alternative business model. GSK’s branded generics are not sold under GSK’s name. They are sold under Allens & Hansbury. Any product you see under GSK Pharmaceuticals (not GSK Consumer o), are all patented. No Indian or other local companies can manufacture them. Panadol and co are under GSK Consumer. But all those big drugs dem, forget na imitation lo ba de o. So your assertion is off tangent. |
IyaTola:FMVA is not recognizable. PwC won’t take that. CPA may take much of his time and he could have aged before wanting to join any of the Big-4. Let him first of all start applying for entry level jobs at the firm. Once he gets in, he would be given 2 years to become a chartered accountant and would be supported on his study path. Alternatively, he can apply and start from similar/lower firms like PKF, BDO, Pedabo etc. They are not really lower o. I only used that word ni o. From there, he can later on join PwC as a Senior or as Manager, depending on good he is and how better he his at his work. |
Too much talk. No action. Mr. Minister, address this to the best of your ability. See what Minister Ojo is doing now. Step on toes! Decimate evil people around this darkness. Let them loose out! It is not a space-science to fix the electricity problem. |
Rany4all:Yes. You are right. And some people are saying we shouldn’t be wary of those guys. They make building in Nigeria to look super-expensive. Meanwhile, an average Nigerian should be able to afford something small to be called a home. |
PrimeQuay:You are apt. |
Iriruaga100:That’s exactly what I am saying. Buy why? Why must they build some slacks into cost of materials, after they have charged for logistics/transportation, labour fee? One bad thing about them is that : they won’t add as low as N500 per piece that one can easily forego. Some start adding from N10k per piece of material, depending on that type of material. I have seen where a product of N4k per piece was written (quoted) as N44k per piece. Yes. I mean it. And the artisan was to supply 40,000 pieces of those chemicals. Why did we think most multinationals are leaving Nigeria? They are not leaving only due bad economic conditions. They are leaving because the way we procure. Lots of our procurement managers roll in multi-million, stolen through padding, under-harm dealing in material procurements. Same thing by our sales and marketing people in their sales and ads campaign. I witnessed when P&G sacked the whole Finance and Procurement Teams in Agbara in 2016/2017. It’s one of the reasons P&G left Nigeria. Its COGS and Opex were always higher than normal. Engineers at companies and factories do their own. Go and see what’s happening in 7up and other Indian, Lebanese, Nigerian companies. Our people are not truthful. We blame everything on government. My advocacy is to always go out and have updated info on quality and price of whatever they are buying for us. Those that are buying it for us don’t have 2 heads. Some are even dul.ller than most people here. They could have some experiences in identifying materials. We too can identify them if we pay attention and find out more. But with some little researches here and there and discreet information gathering, one would stay afloat of their tricks, may be not 100% but one would not sink. Some of us form too busy or that I AM SENDING MONEY ON ERRAND. A building project that costed someone N25 million, could not have probably costed more than N18million, if the project owner had paid due attention to material procurement by these people we talk about. |
VicDs:Dstv used Gotv to fight StarTimes. Now that StarTimes is moribund, Gotv can do anyhow. |
Caseless:You have to consider which one gives you the maximum benefit. If you are closer to raw materials and it’s costly on your route to market, you have to consider nearness to market. You are open to all consideration. You can’t win on all. You have to forgo one for the other. DANGOTE felt he could still get the raw materials cheaply while he situates the refinery in Lagos. That’s why he went for closer to market. So Rule is not a static rule. You have to juggle things together and know which one is of lesser evil. DANGOTE cannot risk the unrest going on in south south and then site his refinery there. You know he borrowed the money. Those refineries in south south were constructed when there were nothing like unrest. If you are situating your factory, you have to run away from a volatile region. It’s good to setup where it is safe l, even though you are not closer to raw materials. |
michlins:Yes. It’s to take advantage of tax-free zone. Other states too have free trade zone, though they may not be as serious as Lagos. The May reason he has chosen Lagos is nearness to everything that would make him sell quickly. |
nwigwemark:You are absolutely correct. Leave them to trust those guys at their own peril. |
eteebanky1:You are correct. To even move crude from south to north would be too costly. NigerDelta is, somewhat, closer to Lagos waters than the North. In economics, one of the factors you consider before setting up your industry or business is nearness to customer. Dangote has to consider nearness to market too. Lagos has the volume of vehicles on the road than any other state. More than 90% of airlines are have their hubs in Lagos as well with their tank farms. Over half of Nigerian industries are in Lagos and Ogun. The best place he could situate it is Ogun/Lagos. |
michlins:It will be cheaper, later. We won’t pay in dollar because it’s a local sales. We don’t spend dollar in Nigeria. Only sales outside Nigeria can be made in other agreed foreign currencies. |
nurd:Exactly. Research! Don’t just do a few ‘negotiation’ with them and see yourself as a macho-man negotiator. The carpenter guy is ready to swi.ndle you. Don’t just throw your money at those people, except May be you didn’t sweat for the money. |
Rayd502:Thank God you are buttressing my point. People don’t know the reason why TOWER is expensive in Nigeria. It is because of cost of manufacturing, locally. It is cheaper to import and sell those thick ones than locally made ones. Just get an experienced fabricator. That’s all. I read somewhere here that this practice should not be tried on wiring. The more better way to tackle that is to let the electricians give you their quotations and mention the exact type you must buy. After this, go out there to authorized dealer or even directly from factory and buy. Must an installer buy materials for me? More so, our c.ut-throat artisans are waiting to bamboos you with their gimmicks on how to scrape your head. Truly, fishes eat fishes. Nigeria is a damn jungle. |
nurd:This is reasonable but you see all those 700k, 900k N1m+ quotations for 3 bedroom flat, make I no talk. |
adeememman:Not my field. This thing is stationary. It doesn’t move around. Even intruders or burglars will struggle cutting the least premium brands. I see buying premium aluminum as display of wealth. Nothing more. It is when you tell someone that an aluminum is TOWER that’s when he/she knows. Place all the brands side-by-side, you would hardly notice any difference, except the fabricator didn’t maintain precision, neatness and accuracy in any of the casements made. There are better things to spend money on than on window frames. |
Abbeyb1ack:Let him use it whether ofege or not. It is your project. Not his project. You should expect they will condemn it. None of the three main aluminum brands cannot be broken by hand. So why are you spending on Tower since you know thick imported can do the job. It is self conviction that: I USED TOWER or for bragging purpose that you are paying for. |
saydfact:It is what we have tried. We didn’t end up paying more. Having first-hand info about everything helps lower cost. Just tell the fabricator to come and fabricate on site. Simple. |
Godisgreatest1:** Sum up …, That’s what I meant. You are welcome sir. Ordinarily, when you go and buy the windows, without them installing it for you they have added profit element to it. They can’t sell it to you at cost. If they now add labour to it, assuming they are installing for you, it means they will make profit on materials and on labour. |
Godisgreatest1:Oga. I am not an aluminum person o but let him break down what he will use to make each window. Go to market ahead and do a preliminary study of costs of materials. Measure each window together with him and do the recordings. Some up all that would be needed. Go to market and buy them yourself. Give them to him to use while you monitor it. Just build in like 7% waste into the aluminum material. Waste in other materials may not the up to that or could above that. Max 10% across board. You see those artisans, they are ev.il. They pad anything padable. You would be surprised it will take you half of what he quoted. |
Obasanjo ki.lled our education system. Period. |
35billion that was 4x lesser than what Delta State Aline collected as monthly allocation for August 2023. 35billion that Gbemisola Saraki or her brother can write as Manager’s Cheque and give to FG! Dem dey do Nigeria. All iron rod importers, May God almighty punish you o. |
