HarlequinLekex: Those days when we do tie television antenna with bamboo stick outside, start shaking and turning Me:he don show color. Father:No turn am. Me:he don show. Father:he remain small turn am small again. Me:i don turn am. Father:yeeee!!! You don turn am too much, start again. Me:He don show[wahala be like bicycle then] I can relate to this very well. I could remember when we were the only family that had television in our village then, our compound used to look like crusade ground every evening with people. Even to gain access to our rooms then was a real tug of war for we the owners of the house. Sweet old days. |

OldNairalander: Hmm interesting thread I had access to the corridors of power as a LG deputy speaker between 2007 and 2010. I have shook hands with the governor, met many people that matters in politics. My greatest mistake is not taking advantage of the privilege then. I contested house of assembly primary election under PDP and lost. I was promised a slot in the incoming govt. if I remain in the party but I refused. I spent millions and bought ACN ticket (the candidate stepped down for me). Spent the little savings I made from my tenure and borrowed heavily to finance the election in 2011 with assurance from my god father backing me up (who died before the election) Unfortunately, I lost the election and sold all my landed Properties to pay off my debts. My political god father's death cut short my political journey seriously Those days as an incumbent in a major oil producing local government, the money was flowing. To cut the long story short, I ended up with 7 official baby Mama's now but no wife. I didn't toast any of them for one day, they simply made themselves available. The story too long abeg 7 baby Mama's, that's highly irresponsible of you. |

Phraences: When bad things or disappointments happen how do you cope? I mean have you never felt like God is punishing you and felt the urge to pray? When bad things happen to me, I take solace in the fact that worse things has happened to other persons and they are still moving on. Bad things happen to everyone, both the religious and non religious, it's just part of life. Since I left everything about religion, I've never felt like god is punishing me or the urge to pray. Why would I feel like something I don't believe in is punishing me? |

zrealjaheal: If i am to seek help from you now to survive the night(although I haven't nothing to eat). And I am being positive that something for the night might show up.. and at the end it doesn't. .
Who do I fault? My inability to be able to provide for my daily meal or some supernatural being? You have yourself to blame and not some supernatural being. I want to believe you leave the house hoping that something positive would you follow you back home. Yes, but that doesn't mean things can't go south. I always hope for the best and also prepared for the worst, that way I don't get too worked up when things don't go as planned. By rituals I meant you do have a belief being an atheist or not... you do believe in something that drives you? My passion and survival instinct is what drives me. |

zrealjaheal: Something must work for you.. like a ritual you perform before leaving the house
Maybe whatever you do when you desperately need something or expecting something. .
By rituals I wanna believe you know what I mean I am an atheist and don't believe in those things. For over 10 years now I've not prayed nor performed any ritual. I live my life without believing that there's a supreme being out there caring for me. Whatever I need, I work towards it and seek help from my fellow humans. |

zrealjaheal: Wouldn't say he real.. just everything about life is relative.. what works for you might work for me.. the only problem is them trying to enforcing their beliefs on someone.. and you find it hard when you grew up in CASTO home. . I am a bred deeper kid I was born and bred in deeper life too but throughout my adolescent age, the bible teachings never made any sense to me. I had to play along just to respect my parents by going to church. When I got to the university, I had to drop anything called religion because it doesn't make any sense to me. |

zrealjaheal: No I am not from ekiti but spent couple of years there when everything was rosy
I was referring to what the previous poster said about helping build a church same thing happened to me. There is this school too at adebayo stadium(not sure of the name) around oke sha . I and my friends help with the renovation of the school cos most times we had issues playing bbal at stadium so we had to renovate the school's own.
Back to that church thing. Why I replied him was why would one help God and then later it feels like when you need him he is nowhere to be found Because that nigga (God) ain't real, fictional character can't help real humans. |

Sochieke: 3 years ago I was basically a King from 2018 to 2019. I was doing my MBA in Zurich Switzerland, the most expensive city in the world. I was young at 24 to 25 years. Before that I was in Malaysia doing a levels and Bsc between 2010 and 2017 plus gap years I took.
Malaysia is less expensive than Switzerland but its not really that cheap because I lived in the capital (Kuala Lumpur). 2 of my sisters were also studying together with me. All financed by my father
All funded by my late father. My school fees in switzerland was 33,000 swiss francs and 25,000 swiss francs for living expenses for 1 year. Together everything then was about almost 40 million naira for a year.
While I was there I didn't try to find a job until it was too late (permit was expiring). Before that I'd never worked a day in my life before.
Basically I lived a life of luxury and everything came crashing down
I left switzerland in December 2019, didn't finish my MBA. No funds. Dad's burial took almost everything . family was in so much debt. Its crazy
Dad died few days I was supposed to leave for switzerland (he was old enough 95 years).
Anyway countdown three years later. I'm doing POS business in Lagos. I tried dispatch business but I stopped after 6 months unable to find quality riders and the Daily headaches.
Back to your question on grace to grass.
I used to travel a most every 2 weeks when I was in Switzerland. I've been to France, Germany, London, Dubai for holidays before and now I do a POS business. Its funny because i could be insulted by people wey never cross third mainland bridge before in tjis POS business but it makes me laugh though. I don't beat myself up
Tried to get a job but no positions.
I regret certain things I did. I was too comfortable that I didn't even try to get a job until it was too late.
I regret certain actions. I wished I could change things but I've moved on. Om working hard to see what I can do to rebuild. I believe if God gives me life I can go back to my former lifestyle with improvements
I'm trying to see if I can go back cheaper place like Canada or others, getting help from sister.
Picture attached was my swiss visa. Kai, this one strong. That's why parents should always train their children to be self reliant no matter the amount of wealth they may have gathered. No one knows when death will come. |

pocohantas: While I get his point, Nigerians dey try abeg. We don’t have any credit or mortgage system in place. So anything we want to buy, we have to save up for it and pay in cash.
It is still a big deal here. Minimum wage is N30,000 (less than a bag of rice) and some state governments say they can’t pay it. Correct. Most of the cars are purchased through loan financing, it's hard to see oyinbo purchase cars or houses in complete cash. Their government has made things easy for them, that's why they are able to purchase the latest vehicles. But in all, Nigerians too dey brag with little things. |

fadilaMaikiriki: You would be shocked! But, you know a fat person ought to have a bulky or big toes, not short tiny ones. And the sizes of one's toes has nothing to do with their shapes and sizes/height. Madam you cannot tell me otherwise, from the look of your legs, not just your toes, one can tell you're short, very short. |

fadilaMaikiriki: Good day all. I'm Fadila. I'm the fifth born in a family of four girls two boys. I don't know why my toes are this way. They look short and smallish in size. I've been embarrassed because of the sizes of my toes, both online here, and even offline. I posted pictures of my new lalle/henna design designs, someone here even said they look like #50 pieces of bitter cola. Imagine that! I don't know what to do to increase the size and length and make them to appear bigger. Is there anything I can do to help me achieve this? I really want to change their outlook.
I've never seen anyone with smallish toes, if not I wouldn't have felt this bad.
Is there anyone here like that? Is there anyone here who has small/short/tiny toes? How do you feel about them?
Please, if there's anyone here or knows what I can do or take to increase their signs and length, I would really appreciate your suggestions. Sannun ku!
Attached below are pictures of the toes; You're short and expect your toes to be taller? |
