End all allegations and post pictures of the house you want to sell. Pictures of the kitchen, bedrooms, living room, bathrooms, yard etc.

It's either you are a fool and don't have any marketing strategy or sense or you are a bloody scammer. So which one is it?

BusinessHub1:
what if am not? just as stated in the post, have u asked 4 the pic to be sent to u and i refused? why must i include it here? have i scammed u, ur family or any1 befr that brought it here or mentioned my name anywhere? If u don't go about attacking all ads on this forum with no pic attachment it shall never be well with u in this life..big and serious allegation will be levelled against u..even in your innocence, amen!

You've come back again to sell? No pictures? You must be a scammer.
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Memejem: 4:07am On Jun 14, 2016
Wait. So you didn't want to spend money to fix or modify the dpc. But you removed the roof, changed the pillars, added tiles, took out the windows, changed thier shape and size and added new windows? Then changed the shape and construction of the parapet?

......

Ok ooooo

AZUH:
No chil . Everybody is just after me . We'll that is my house . I spent more to get it like this but the dpc is still same . The previous roof was used for the boys quarter . @ egunmoji I just dey like you . Keep on your good work . I am not angry oh . At all .

Romance / Re: My Virgin Girlfriend Has Kidney Issue, I Love Her For Marriage, Should I Go On? by Memejem: 3:36am On Jun 14, 2016
If you truly love this girl and she loves you I advise you to engage her. It's been 5 months, get to know her. Get to know her family.

Take her to an established licensed doctor in a reputable hospital and get a professional physical assemement. Know what illness she is battling, the prognosis and treatment plan. That will let you know what you are getting into and if you want to continue pursuing the relationship.

I advise you and her do this ASAP.

Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Memejem: 10:53pm On Jun 08, 2016
You can say that again. If I had the money to spend. I would buy it.

Which h model did you buy in eBay and why didn't it work that well?

twinskenny:

i bought one on ebay sometimes ago about 300usd.. its has an app as well, doesnt really work well after installation.

great to have a device with an app... that you will be able to monitor your home at ago. just like having a cctv installed with remote view.

whole house automation is really taking shape nicely now.. like of CONTROL 4, where you can control everything in your house via an APP.

But better soup na money kill am
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Memejem: 9:55pm On Jun 08, 2016
I think it's the technology aspect. The extra feature of app communications, the blinking light and all that. Not necessitate needed but quite modern. Also the fact that it's is both a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. Because it is a dual detector is more expensive. All alarms that do both always cost more.

I've been thinking about this. And although I think the app communication is great, it's not neccesairly required. I might just go with another dual smoke/carbon monoxide detector that has great ratings as well. But will allow me to buy the recommended amount of alarms for my house at a cheaper cost.

erico2k2:

how come these are more expensive? waht else do they add to basic smoke alarms?
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Memejem: 6:47pm On Jun 08, 2016
Yea I was looking at thier camera too. You can communicate to family members with it as well. Quality is great too. And the price isn't bad. Wouldn't even need to engage in outsiders to set it up, for indoors at least. Ill need to do a cost comparison for the CCTV that is being utilized in nigeria. But tbh I may not even have the need for it if I build in the estate that I want.

I'm not at the stage of building yet. I'm still saving up money. But I'm making a list/document of all the must haves, and wants that I want included in my house. This group has been very helpful. Your post about the whole house fan was very very informative. Thank you so much.

Whenever you set it up, please post. I'm sure to learn so much from your setup. I'm sure you'll install yours before I start my build.

EgunMogaji:

You're welcome.

I really like supporting companies like this that puts out innovative product. You can sometimes find deals on Groupon, Amazon or eBay but might be previous generation products.

Depending on how the bedrooms are clustered you might get away with a unit in a central area in the adjoining hallways, but for sure there needs to be one in or very near the kitchen.

The integration of the camera is also quite beneficial, the thermostat may not work in Nigeria.
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Memejem: 5:59am On Jun 08, 2016
This product/company is really unique. They offer discounts with our hydro companies in Ontario if we purchase thier thermostats. The included technoloy of communicating with the smoke detector via an app is quite innovative.

But I really don't want to spend up to $1000 on smoke detectors for my house. Maybe I can get away with buying a 2-3 and see how it goes. It's a great investment nonetheless.

Thanks for sharing

EgunMogaji:
If you know about this product, fire and co2 alarm from Nest, then don't bother reading.

If you don't and you take your families safety crucial then I suggest that you go to their site at Nest.Com to read up.

Here's why I like this product.

* It's technological advanced. Control with your phone, get alarm on your phone, has an app, etc
* You can link many units together, so it will announce and tell you where the fire/smoke is at exactly. You can prerecord an escape route based on where the fire is. So if the fire has blocked the staircase, those upstairs can be told to get out through the upstairs windows without wasting time running to the steps.
* It detects both smoke and carbon dioxide - the real killers. Fire is an after effect, mostly.

Let's take a case study.

I think we've all seen the recent fire accident that killed a family in Ghana.

So let's say they have a Nest installed in the kitchen doorway, and one in each sleeping rooms, the very instant the fire started all the Nest would be communicating to each other and sounding an alarm and called a neighbor by phone.

Minutes count, so it is my opinion that they family would have woken up much more quickly, gathered to a predetermined escape location/route and a neighbor will be waiting for them at the door.

Just a thought.

hello,

I commented on your blog about the 7 bedroom bungalow penthouse. I would like to purchase the plans, but you haven't replied. But i want to to tweak it a little bit to 5 bedrooms instead. And perhaps include a garage. how much would it be? I added you on BBM, please accept.
Properties / Re: Our Renovation Diary (a New Dimension To Nigerian Architecture) by Memejem: 6:49pm On Jun 04, 2016
Thanks so much for your fast and informative response.

But most burglary proofs are made from iron no? And they are outside withstanding the elements.they last a long time. For railings that will be protected I side a house I beleive iron is suitable. And the pictures skimanski has posted are very beautiful designs.

msogunro:

Iron is strong, but steel is stronger. Steel is iron mixed with other elements. Can't remember the exact elements now.

Stainless steel is steel mixed with chromium which is resistant to corrosion.

Wrought iron is just bended iron.

Iron is cheaper than steel, but is still very strong. For stainless steel, you're paying extra for shine and added strength. How strong do railings need to be? Iron is plenty strong for the job, and is not tacky or gaudy like shiny steel.

I'm only talking about staircase railings though.
Properties / Re: Our Renovation Diary (a New Dimension To Nigerian Architecture) by Memejem: 5:51pm On Jun 04, 2016
Please, can you speak on the difference in quality of efficiency between steel iron, stainless steel and wrought iron?

msogunro:

OK. I assumed the new railing will be stainless since that is what seems to be in vogue.

Looking forward to seeing what you drop on us. Does your team make the railings from scratch or is it imported?

Below is the wrought iron railing style (powder coated if possible) I'm hoping to have made by a Naija artisan.

Everything was done by you. Lagos was built by you. Did they pay you in sand? That you can't pay people back for your lack of competency?

Or wait... For you there is an "I" in team. Something that was contracted out to an organization/company is now "you".

Your mentality is disgusting. Your character is disgusting. Everything revolves around you and the villages you built. But you still have nothing to show for it. Where are the students and workers your hired? None of them are here vouching for you at all.

All the time spent here typing sermons and mini novels, I wonder how "you" have the time to get any of these so called projects accomplished. How do you supervise all your "workers". You are just an accomplished liar, with vast experience in stealing from and utilizing others in a negative way for your gain.

Again I say, Humble yourself.

Mr. Bragger, keep digging that hole. When will you humble yourself?

So only you employed 200 IT people. You sent many to university and built roads for a community, dug boreholes up and down and gave electricity to everyone. Spending millions on châteaus up and down and you can't afford to pay back a customer you frauded less than you claim to be worth? How does this make any logical sense?

So you can spend all this on strangers but the customers you come into contact with get paid in instalments. While you build whole villages in months. Wooooowwww. Need to call Nollywood to start a movie with your epistles.

Your lies... Chai

Properties / Re: Interior Architecture In Nigeria Is Very Bad by Memejem: 3:58pm On May 31, 2016
I think your problem is a "taste" issue. You are free to create new and innovative designs that you feel Nigerians haven't seen yet. But your taste level is concerning.

Meaning you can design all you like... But if the end product is not appealing to the masses you will never be called to reproduce that design in most peoples homes . unless their taste matches yours.

I'm not doubting your skill level. But your taste is very questionable. As you can see, nobody here is complementing you on your designs.

It's time for you to change it up a bit and come up with new designs. You can do it. Take constructive criticism and go back to the drawing board. With time and hard work I'm sure you will be able to create something that will be appealing to the masses.

You suffer from an inflated and unbalanced ego. Humble yourself. You always find a way to victimize yourself and vilanize your clients. Eat a piece of humble pie for once and just swallow your pride.

Your long epistle just translates to "a complainer who refuses to be accountable for ANY of his actions"

How much longer will you defend yourself day in and day out. This is not a church service that you have to be giving a sermon every post. Nobody wants to work with an organization or company where they are always defending themselves. All prospective clients care about is the END-RESULT of your work and how any potential problems were dealth with. Just own up to the issue and fix it or end the professional relationship amicably. Everything you do or start on naira land is filled with one kind of controversy or the next.

It doesn't matter if you are at fault or not. Most people who take the time to read about your multiple issues with clients here will just move on to someone else. Mainly because the manner in which you handle your accusations is one of the worst I've ever seen.

Your conflict resolution skills need work. Again I advise you to humble yourself. Humble yourself and humble yourself.

Your behaviour of responding to every dick and Tom here is unprofessional. It is losing you business.

In a street of over 20 houses, there is Only one house with a raft foundation. The first of its kind in the area. Yes, I can say that again. Every other buildings were built on block (strip) foundation. Not even solid blocks but hollow blocks.

Now, we did 4 board raft, there's a complain it should have been 6. There's another complain it should have been Pile. Or caisson pile. At some point, we wanted to put one of the column supporting 3rd mainland bridge to support a bungalow built by Brabus.

Now, what did others did differently that they were able to stay afloat on the same ground our building cannot stay. The ground that people are recommending 1st of its kind in the whole of AGA, Ikorodu (with about 500 houses) Pile foundation.

THEY KEEP WATER OFF THEIR PROPERTY!

@ Tritri, I know there's a problem but definitely not with me. Here's the reason:

If I set block like every other person, people will say why not raft at least 2 boards
I did 4 boards, they said why not 6 boards.
If I do 6 boards, some people will say isn't that too heavy for a wet land?
If I stay off compromises, they'll say why did you stay off.
If I choose to remain on the project, they'll say when you see those issues why did you not leave immediately and get the client to write an undertaking of indemnity.
If I ask for letter of indemnity, they'll say customer is always right. He is the chief project director. He can fire and hire at will.
If I complain online, they'll say did you articulate very well offline?
If I articulate too well, they'll say must you always blow your trumpet?
If I choose to remain silent, they'll say you no know him. I've been calling him for 100 years and he won't respond.
If I choose to respond, they'll say silence is golden. Let your action do the work.
If I made reference to what works Mr X, they'll ask why did you single Mr Lagbaja out and not minding what Mr X did differently.
If I made reference to successful jobs done in different terrains, they'll call it apple vs orange as if both of them are not edible fruits.
If I foresee a great problem detrimental to the building, they'll reject it in Jesus name.
If I proffer a solution, they'll ask why didn't you implement the fix as if it's done with mouth and not money.

I pray for all those having Brabus-sickness that God will heal them because I really don't know what else to do to satisfy people.

Because you tagged me I'll once again clarify my comments about you.

The difference between you and a fortune 100 company is that you were asked a specific question and decided to answer in a manner that displayed little to no humility. You went beyond the parameters of the question asked and started to brag about what you HAVE, what you've DONE and not what you have to OFFER.

Fortune 100 companies have thier works speak for themselves. They have something to offer to others and if individuals there are gonna brag about themselves they back it up with tangible end products. They aren't battling their previous customers everyday on naira land defending thier work product.

Stop digging a hole for yourself. Be humble.

If you want to aspire to become a fortune 100 company on day that's a good goal. But humble yourself and live in the reality of your present situation.

Your comment really just rubbed me the wrong way. You were asked a simple question. All you had to reply was that you were not constrained when it came to money as you were building to your own taste and quality preference. Instead you chose to brag and highlight all the expenses you spent on your house and foundation cost. And you didn't do it in a way that displayed humility.

What are you trying to prove here?

n3xt:

I never had to compromise at any part of my personal project. I lost the books at some point and quality at whatever cost was given a big priority.

I saw Chinese light fighting a but went for a gate pillar of 70k for a pair. That cannot be said of client who wanted to spend 300k to buy all the light fittings in their house.

Check what you see at H52. I bought Roman Blinds which is 100k plus. Most client won't pay for that. Sorry to say.

What about toughened glasses used for my glass partitions? I had option of buying ordinary for less.

My tiles are real Spanish and I paid its real price and not having a champagne taste on la casera budget.

My build is in Sagamu. Yet I did raft where everyone is doing Strip foundation.

I bought an electric mixer solely for all my backyard DIY project. I could do it with hand.

Why must everything be a competition. You think the south east or northeast or north west doesn't have developed areas like this. Every state in nigeria has areas that are developed for those who can afford it.

Stop this nonsense. When something positive is repeated about an area of nigeria that you are not from, it does not mean you should come and start trying to showoff or argue that your area is also good or even better.

It doesn't have to resort to that. Just acknowledge it and move on. The report is not insulting anyone, it is facts based.

Politics / Re: Ibrahim Uwais, Who Joined ISIS, Killed - Sahara Reporters by Memejem: 12:07pm On May 10, 2016
While you are here typing all this, what exactly are you doing to help fight the boko haram insurgency?

Being mature is great but your admiration for displaced faith is misplaced. You are admiring how a mind can become corrupt, because the man is not practsing faith in God. He is delusional and blindly following the teachings of people who have polluted the religion. If God was to come down from heaven today do you think he would open his arms and welcome the terrorists of Isis?

I think what you admire is his passion however displaced and not his faith. These terrorist groups are highly politicized and appear to be campaigning on the basis of religion. Why should I as a Christian go and fight a battle that really has less to do with God and more to do with economics and power.

Any reasonably educated person will be able to see that the majority of these terrorists groups are just covers for political parties. Why was al-queda trained by the United states government. Isis was formed as a result of the Iraqi invasion by the Americans. It has more to do with culture, power, greed and money than it has to do with religion.

Look deeper into the history of how these groups were formulated. Propaganda is a major tool for recruitment. The majority of their foot solders are uneducated youth who can barely read the teachings of the Koran for themselves and blindly listen to the teaching of their leaders. Their fight is against the west. They want autonomy over thier land and resources. Though in the case of this man he was educated. But if you truly believe he fought because of his faith in God you have a lot to learn. Should Isis gain control of thier regions do you not think they would prosper by controlling thier natural resources in the land (oil). Most of these groups are created as a reaction to a perceived threat upon their sovereignty and that primary threat is not Christianity. At least not now.

Do you think that the leaders of all these terrorist organizations recruit thier children and wives as foot solders for the most part? Why didn't the article inform us of the demise of his wife and children as well? They were probably hiding out somewhere else, protected.

You are trying to incite Christians to fight a war that you think is solely based on religion. But it is not.

Jesus preached about peace. This is the 21st century. You don't need to enter a battlefield for change to occur. That's why there are different career fields. If you want to stop boko haram go and join the army because they are a threat to the whole nation and not just Christianity. They are a threat to Islam as well because true Muslims would not behave like them. In order for the world to function you have people who work different jobs to sustain the economy. If everyone all went to war who will feed the children? Who will teach them? Who will farm the land and grow the crops? Who will pay house rent and help the sick in the hospital?

You need to rationalize. Stop playing devils advocate for the sake of playing devils advocate. There's another name for that. It's called a troublemaker.

profmallory:
Of course it takes maturity to "admire" a singular trait in something so dark and evil. And if you insist on waiting till they push you, then dont worry The northern states have started something on clamping down on Religious Preachings.

It so convenient to sit in the comfort of our homes and claim "One does not need to put thier life on the line because of religion". That's what we are doing now isnt it?. we are waiting for them to go through our neighbours before they get to our doors before we get up and do something.

I understand you every well, that space where you are is where a lot of us are - we sit and wait until it gets to us. As long as its far off, we need not worry, only when it gets near us should be start to even think of reacting. How convenient.

And yes someone has to devils advocate once in a while, we all cant sleep and face one direction. See its easy to castigate this dude, but while I DONT justifiy his actions at all, we need more people that are willing to sacrifice BUT for a just cause.

Thats the point

First of all who said I don't know the history of the atrocities that were done by ancient Christian societies? Was that the topic we were discussing?

You were trying to play devils advocate here and it backfired. One does not need to put thier life on the line because of religion. You're taking this incident out of context. If the situation was different and peole were being hunted by the government based on religion as in the Holocaust you will see those who will not deny their faith and fight for ther right to religion. You will also see those who will choose to fight another day and run for safety.

THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE.

the man in question was not being hunted. His rights were not being infringed. He let semantics get in the way of his thought process and allowed his brain to be filled by the idealizations of fanatics. He chose to go to a war zone and fight a war and cause that did not necessarily involve him. He put himself in that situation.

If the will is strong anybody can die for what they are passionate about and is not limited to religion. Don't put Christians in a box and admire a terrorists willpower to die for his erroneous belief that infidels must die. You are doing a disservice to humankind.

You have to be more careful about how you phrase your thoughts and questions. Religion is not something you joke with. Especially when innocent people are dying because of the "faith" you admire so much in terrorists.

profmallory:

you probably missed the part where I said "Jesus's disciple where regarded as outlaws (perhaps terrorists) at there time, but of course the contrast is that they were galvanised by the Holy spirit and through prayers and the Good message won souls for God, unlike the death and destruction that a group like ISIS spreads"

Any besides my friend, you don't know your history to well either. Go read about the atrocoites that the early Christain Nations committed in the name of God - you might have a change of thought that we Christians might not have being so saintly at all. I am a christain and a very strong one at that, but my point is simple. Are we willing to travel miles to go die for what we believe in?. simple. I am not asking if the guy in question died for a good reason or not., that's left to him and his god. And my illustrations are the pointer to the fact that Jesus' disciples did a similar thing but ofcourse without the arms and swords.

Please try to understand my view on the issue. Its a Challenge to those of us that are Christains, myself inclusive. Or is our faith the one that doesnt die for what its believes in.

Your reasoning is not sound. Jesus' disciples were not out there bombing people, sliting throats and forcing people into a lifestyle they did not want to live. They didn't kill anyone using God as a reason. Yes some were seen as outlaws but that is not the same as being labelled a terrorist. Thier message was not passed through violence.

Where in the Bible does it state that the disciplines dragged their families with them to follow Jesus? Didn't you just state they left thier family behind? Your thought process is jagged.

Also I don't know why you think that missionaries are going out to war. Just because you travel to spread the word of God does not mean you will be killed. Though there are some places in the world that will be against accepting a missionary's preachings that does not mean they will face death and not return home.

Missionaries exist today and if you look hard enough you will find them. This is a different time, you don't need to isolate yourself and suffer harshly to spread the word of God.

profmallory:
I love the way you rationed your thoughts, very typical of how a normal human is meant to reason. But here is a flip side of all you have said, The apostles of Jesus Christ left father, mother and family behind, some even left a striving career behind and followed Jesus, know they will die. They dragged their families into pain by refusing to be ordinary men.

Jesus's disciple where regarded as outlaws (perhaps terrorists) at there time, but of course the contrast is that they were galvanised by the Holy spirit and through prayers and the Good message won souls for God, unlike the death and destruction that a group like ISIS spreads.

But My point still remains the same. A man leaves behind the comforts of life and goes on a lone mission that he knows he would never come back - that's what I respect, that's what the missionaries that brought Christ to Africa did. Tha'ts what we modern Christains have been brain washed not to do. We love the good things of life so much we don't want to ever go. Any one that mentions or reminds us that we would die is seen as a potential devil, how foolish we have become. Yet daily we see people going

I am a Christain so dont sweat yourself on me supporting ISIS
