Funny indeed, after having gone throught the lines in this thread I can safely arrive to one conclusion. This colonialism issue is like life through a window seal. Those who got their independence early wish they had it later, and those who got it late wish they got it sooner.

African's we are at the point where we cannot blame anyone for our misfortune. Let us all admit that this is who we are. We are just a complacent race, that's it.
I agree 100%

At least we have two good AFRICAN coaches to chose from. But of course, I think Sia1 is the future.

Why didnt NFF take one of these guys last summer? That WC display still smells o'

PoliticsRe: Come 2015: Its Ndigbo Or Nothing by mensdept: 3:34am On Nov 03, 2010
Well "come 2015" we need an Igbo president and from Dec 2010 to Dec. 2014 we can have one of the cows from Zamfara ruling Nigeria right? Why do we just manage and manage and then think 5 or 10 years from now those who are enjoying the status quo would get tired or born-again, and hand over to a "Igbo"?

Do we also want a Igbo president that would just be impeached and whisked away by his colleagues (remember all those Igbo Senate Presidents folks) or one too weak to make positive change (like OBAMA in Yankee)?

We need great leaders at all levels of government, including a culture that promotes honesty and patriotism in ways that people and their kindred would be ashamed if their son/daughter embezzled public funds
PoliticsRe: Southeast Poorest Zone In Nigeria by mensdept: 3:20am On Nov 03, 2010
Even if the SE zone is the poorest in "Nigeria", what region is doing better? Is it South South, or North East?

The problem in SE deals with poor and selfish leadership internally and poor and greedy leadership at the center in Abuja amongst woes

Thank you jare, it's not like Siasia is a bad coach but when it comes to choosing between the 2 shortlisted, i will go for Keshi anytime anyday, he has managed more strongheaded players than siasia.
And what has that done for Keshi, those countries, or the THE PLAYERS he's managed? Nothing

Two of them are not good. they don't have anything to offer. Austine " Cerezo" Eguaveon should continue as SE coach. Afterall the best coaches we have today failed several times before.

Tensor777 has obviously taken something too high for him cos he simply cant recognise the fact that all security apparatus including the army are influence by the political system. If the system is flawed it will affect every other thing within its sphere of influence. If the system is not corrected, create myriad of security tools and give them different names it'll still end up incompetent and compromised
Madam Tensor is trying to act tough, yet when the Nigerian army fires its first shot we know where he's running to.

Must we introduce new things all the time when our government stinks. How about introducing new leaders instead of the same group of emperors (IBB/ATIKU/BUHARI)

To be honest I would be happy to take that option of a blanket ban of the regular NPF from the National Guard. Nobody can say for certain that if they are  properly recruited trained and equipped that they- the National Guard- would not be competent.
A wider point is that  the NPF are already being legislated into irrelevance what with the creation of the FRSC Civil Defence, Mobile Police, EFCC, and now this National Guard
You need to stop talking nonsense and bringing up irrelevant issues. The main objective of the national guard would be to provide and maintain internal security.
Its as simple as that
PoliticsRe: Why We Endorsed Jonathan, By Ohanaeze (Guardian Newspaper) by mensdept: 9:51pm On Oct 31, 2010

You must not be aware of the power of public relations. Ohanaeze, whether the people in Ariaria market know the president of Ohanaeze or not, can mobilize in Igbo land and hold outdoor conventions all over Igbo land and by the end of those gatherings millions would mobilize to vote GJ. Mind you the election is now in April so they have a lot of convincing time.
My dear I disagree with you on this. Ohaneze is not that relevant. Please, lets not dash them "millions" to mobilize. 2nd, the chairman is not even talking much about 2011 but of 2015, just like in 1999 we were told by this same group that it would be 2003, then 2003 Iwuanyanwu and the Political Commitee of Ohaneze said no, wait for 2007, then 2007 came and its 2011, now 2015.

Its a game that we've seen before, and honestly, I'm not surprised that Ohaneze and Igbo Eze's in Northern/Western towns are not being granted assembly and patronage any more.

I see an attempt to attack Uwechue and Ohanaeze as very laughable.  undecided undecided

There is no way these attackers know what is best for Ndigbo more than Ohanaeze leadership.

And if the attackers think that Ohanaeze leadership should not be trusted, should we trust they the attackers? huh huh

If you say that your leader is talking nonsense, aren't you the one talking pure trash?
Only a fool points to his fathers house with a left hand.  cool
I'm laughing.
Sometimes its good to join the bandwagon and engage in herd mentality, especially when its obvious that the enemy is coming to sack and plunder your village, despoil your woman, and sell your kids into slavery.

But not all the time, especially when "leaders" are saying nonsense, half-truths, or picking little fights when more important battles are happening in their backyard

And if a fool's right hand has been cut off by greedy neighbors, and his father was watching and enjoying his eba, then yes, point very well to your father so that your mom and her people will know what to do
PoliticsRe: Why We Endorsed Jonathan, By Ohanaeze (Guardian Newspaper) by mensdept: 6:18pm On Oct 31, 2010
Andre Uweh:
Ohanaeze did not hastily act the way they did. Ndigbo e.g students, market women, traders, civil servants, Ndigbo off shore etc clamoured for Ohanaeze direction. The body answered the Macedonian call by making consultations upon consultations. They came to the conclusion that GEJ is the most thing to happen to Nigeria at the moment.
Prior to this period, it was not certain on whom I will support, but now it is clearer on the way forward.
Long live Ohanaeze U.K and Dr Uzoalor, Long live Ohanaeze Worldwide and Amb Uwaechue.
Long live Ndigbo and Nigeria.
Who is looking for Ohaneze direction? Let me guess, folks like you who cannot think on your own. Have you been to Nigeria within the consultation period of late. I'm sure if you did and had asked the hustlers in Onicha head bridge what they thought about the election and Ohaneze in general, they will be saying something contrary to the above quote.

BTW, your conclusion reminds me of all those useless communiques issued bi-monthly by groups that you need to think on your behalf.
PoliticsRe: Support Buhari For President? No, No, Never! by mensdept: 6:09pm On Oct 31, 2010
With all due respect, even if you write a book about Buhari, there are many people who will say why he should run, and wont have any reasoning other than "Let him try"- the Naija way of course.

The only thing in your post that I actually decided to read that you omited was that we are no longer living in the last century, and Buhari and co are of that era.

Imagine hijacking/couping your party's ticket in 2003 (when other "credible" candidates from the South were there) and again taking the ticket all for yourself in 2007, and scheming again to be the sole candidate in 2011. Na WAH

In serious nations that would be considered as a person who's not so serious and is in it for themselves.

Na today? Prophets of doom all over! They never sees anything good cos they are always stuck in the darkness and never in the light. They talked of God as if He is their errand boy whom they can call upon for bedtime stories, even some equate him with santa claus. As for nigerian political situation, do one have to be a prophet to read the signs?
Now we are talking. I wonder why their followers are so readily deceived? What does that say about our culture/nation?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria At 50,do You Think The British Left Us Too Early? by mensdept: 5:44pm On Oct 31, 2010
At 50 Nigeria should have on paper been a hell of a great place instead of mostly a hell for most of its people

At 50 Nigeria should have on paper been truly the "giant of Africa" and all those titles assumed upon independence.

But Nigeria is not, and the blame is in part because of the British Occupation, that was essentially made to enrich the British and not those from the Niger (or is it Niggar?) Area

Yet, at 50, I'm not surprised as to what I find on Nairaland and in Nigeria on a daily basis, which is a large level of nonsense, where citizens of a potentially great nation/ethnic region are behaving like children and cowards, saying they want the return of IBB, or helicopters will solve crime, and Pastor so and so predicts this and that, and how NFF should hire White from, perhaps the BRITISH zone.

See me see wahala
PoliticsRe: What Do You Think Of Donald Duke? by mensdept: 5:28pm On Oct 31, 2010
Yes, he should very much be a presidential candidate, especially when we are talking of 2011 election (some like OHANEZE Chairman 2015).

Its crazy that the the next election may feature ghosts from the 80s era, like IBB and BUHARI, when we have very able, youthful, and tested leaders that can make a difference.

Another imbecilic post as usual. Was Ohanaeze founded on the same basis as your so called Hezbollah. Does Ohanaeze carry arms, and bombs. Do they field candidates for elective posts?. Why do you guys rubbish Ohanaeze when you know not what their functions are?. You have time to study about Hizbollah yet know nothing about Ohanaeze. What a shame. Some of you have not even heard about Ohanaeze or Uwaechue untill this moment. But you know the operatives of the Hizbollah and all their terrorism acts. What a pity.
Let me clearly say this so your "imbecilic" brain can understand.

OHA NA EZE is a joke and a useless group that has never and will never move the plight of Igbo people.  Perhaps they should be carrying arms and bombs and running candidates for elective position, instead of looking for attention, contracts, and relevance.

I thought some of you guys were smart enough to not be misled by those who are pretending to know how Naija politics actually work

Dont be blinded by tribal sentiment when the whole world sees exactly what I wrote. Today the Ohaneze chairman, from Ben Nwabueze to Achuzie to now Uwechue will be endorsing one candidate, and their deputy or state party chairman of Ohaneze will be endorsing another. And you want us to be quiet like the mumu people in Aba? HELL NO

What are the so-called group of kings planning for in the 2011 election? Have they already concluded and received "loot" that they are talking about 2015, yes 2015? So there should be no road in Abia state until then? Good, more kudos to Theo Orji of PPA/APGA/PDP  grin

Nonsense
