Cool, but dem say Igbo own 73% of Abuja, yet no structures like these in the east

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Must Break Up To Enjoy Peace -primate Ayodele by mensdept: 1:48am On Jun 22, 2010
LOL, Lagos mosquitoes,

Well, I too went through IBADON!!! And its the same as it was years ago, So East, North, West, Deeper South, the same nonsense and here we are saying my place is betta than yours, shame
PoliticsRe: What Was Obasanjo Thinking ! by mensdept: 1:41am On Jun 22, 2010
I'm sure he's also tired of cynical people praising him lol
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Must Break Up To Enjoy Peace -primate Ayodele by mensdept: 1:36am On Jun 22, 2010
The last time I went to Naija, years back that is, I couldnt stand Lagos, and preferred the comfort and quiet of the East.

Now that I've returned from Naija, its the complete opposite.

See ah', breaking the country up isnt the solution, or rather, wont end the corruption and poverty, and may infact create a worse situation. Look at the East, the leaders do as they want and dont even see a common Eastern Mandate.

Look at all the police checkpoints once you enter Onitsha, all the way to Aba, yet going back towards Bini/Lagos, NONE.

If we are considering a breakup, then it must also include a total and complete revolution flushing out silly leaders and a culture that tolerates it.
SportsRe: Are Fans Disloyal For Booing & Walking Out On Their Team? by mensdept: 1:23am On Jun 22, 2010
It depends,

If your team plays heroically and lose 1-0, then I suppose not

If your team plays sloppy, shoot over the bar, head wide of target, then maybe a few walkouts

BUT, if your team plays like they don't care, are ball watching, are not running into space, and playing like Nigeria and France, even at the second game, then most certainly boo, and walkout early to avoid traffic.
SportsRe: Why A Death Threat Is Good For Kaita by mensdept: 1:18am On Jun 22, 2010
Na wah,

I wonder if Kaita did his foul in the World Cup Final match lol,

Death threat is ridiculous, plain and simple. Most of those advocating for this havent contributed a dime to our local soccer development programs. Shior for you
SportsRe: Funny!- If Nigeria Was To Host World Cup by mensdept: 1:10am On Jun 22, 2010
Lol, unless the cities chosen are the best 8 in the country
SportsRe: Exit Door Looms For All African Teams;Ghana please help save us from shame by mensdept: 1:07am On Jun 22, 2010
Cool thread

Actually this is the worst world cup for Africa, Hello, its IN AFRICA.

Who expected those teams in Germany 06 to even qualify or do anything there- Angola? Togo?

Angola had more points in Germany 06 than Cameroon+Nigeria+South Africa as we speak.

On paper, Nigeria has a great chance despite a disastrous start, and Ghana look good.

CIV losing by 2 goals effectively ruined them along with Portugal's 7. Brazil basically has to pound fellow Portuguese speaking Portugal which is unlikely

Algeria has a fabulous chance of beating the US, since the US was robbed of that victory lol. England tying with Slovenia is VERY likely,

and South Africa may beat France but that's it.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs South Korea:I Predict 3:1 For Nigeria. What's Your Prediction? by mensdept: 12:47am On Jun 22, 2010
We could win, but poster, even when the Semi-Arab Egyptians were dealing with the African giants in 2006, 2008, and 2010, they met Nigeria at last, and flogged us too. Now, we have basically the same team and a gold-digging coach (who I am willing to apologize to if we do the unthinkable-reach Semis) so I'm not surprised much hasnt changed.

But prediction- Nigeria 2 S. Korea 1

Good one!
SportsRe: Who Needs The Match More; Kaita Or Largerback? by mensdept: 12:40am On Jun 22, 2010
Of course Nigeria needs it, I'm not convinced that Lagerback truly cares either way.

Kaita I believe has been suspended for this match and possibly the R16 if we go thru.

Nigeria doesnt even need him to be honest
SportsRe: Lgerback Contract To Be Extended by mensdept: 12:33am On Jun 22, 2010
This story hasnt been made official in any official capacity.

How can we be talking of contract extension when we still have a decisive game to play?

Look how some persons have even jumped on to the bandwagon of PRO-LAGERBACK, and you wonder why our country is going backwards each minute.

Yes, we do need continuity in our national team, but that doesnt mean we lose our senses for that sake.

Did anyone see how the Argentines were pointing in Yakubu's face, when actually they were the ones fouling him, and the mumu kept quiet. Yes, he didnt behave like Kaita, but you can see he and our team felt inferior and scared.

Lets start believing in ourselves and our good local coaches. Klinnsman, Dunga, Maradona, even the US coach started out at "home", even some of these first becoming coach at the senior level without "assisting" any useless mediocre EURO coach.
SportsRe: The Three Worse Players And Three Best Players Of Supper Eagles Are? by mensdept(op): 12:24am On Jun 22, 2010
Dr. Kitaun, you are and still remain a Negro,

You have no defense for a player past his prime, and yet go on the defense lol.

Its not a matter of hating Yakubu, what do we stand from that, The truth is he is not very good. Anyone watching the strikers for other countries?

YAK and Obasi IS A BAD COMBINATION.

Portugal beating North Korea 7-0, with 7 DIFFERENT PLAYERS SCORING quality goals, Yet in two games none of those useless strikers= YAkobasi have made any brilliant or creative runs,

BusinessRe: Highway To Cameroun : White Elephant Project? by mensdept: 5:11am On Jun 20, 2010
Yes, it is a Green-White-Green elephant project.

Are Cameroonians planning on doing massive business in Nigeria via this highway? Even if you "exit" from this road, how good are those roads leading to your village?

We havent even dualized many roads linking the East to the West, the West to the North, etc, nor built our second Niger bridge.
PoliticsRe: Should Pdp Have Made Ken Nnamani New Chairman Instead? by mensdept: 5:00am On Jun 20, 2010
Why? Putting him is the same as business as usual.

Did he ever say he wanted to be chairman?

He served as a ONE TERM Senator, and bounced (or was bounced out), like the other Senate Pres from Ebonyi.
PoliticsRe: Where Are The Igbos In This Rotational Presidency Jargons. by mensdept: 4:55am On Jun 20, 2010
Nonsense, how can Ohaneze be more powerful than the Government.

They cant even be compared to serious groups like Arewa and Afenifere.

Who even does what they say? How many students in Universities in the East know who the officers of Ohaneze are? You'll be surprised that many of them are tuning into African Magic Yoruba station as we speak.

Igbo people arent the President, nor the Vice, nor Senate President, nor Speaker, nor Secretary to The Federation, but party chairman, and as we have seen with the 500 senate presidents we produced under OBJ, already have a second Chairman and counting, whereas the other positions (minus Pres) are the same.

Someone said that Igbo people are cowards, no, they simply are interested in other things other than group solidarity and fighting collectively for anything. No international airport in their place, no world class city in their zone, no major university or tourist attraction in their zone. And like other groups, they for the most part, have been NIGERIANIZED
SportsRe: The Ivory Coast Has The Best World Cup Uniforms: Hands Down by mensdept: 4:44am On Jun 20, 2010
Well, jerseys don't win games, but all the same, Nigeria's jersey is like a training kit lol. Anyone noticing the apathy of Nigerian support in the stadiums, No green and white seas of fans, no "Nigerian section", hardly anything?
SportsRe: The Three Worse Players And Three Best Players Of Supper Eagles Are? by mensdept(op): 4:39am On Jun 20, 2010
Foolish?

Negro please. OLODO

Have you been watching THIS World Cup. YAKUBU IS THE WORST PLAYER ON THE SUPER EAGLES

Now what?
SportsRe: 10 Men Socerroos(australian Team) Vs Super Eagles(nigeria), Compare! by mensdept: 4:37am On Jun 20, 2010
A 10 man SE vs a 9 man Aussie team would result in a victory for Australia, based on how these teams had played with a man down.
SportsRe: Siasia Better Than 10 Lagerbacks, Says Amiesimaka by mensdept: 4:35am On Jun 20, 2010
Of course Siasia was and is and will be better than Lagerback, and better than Amodu.

But like Naija politics, he was denied by a fellow Nigerian (Amodu) to take the job, whereas the latter was used as a pawn to stop him and others (Oliseh, Keshi) to help improve our team.

Amiesimaka, well, I dont know if you had a role in that, but at least if you are being a Fairplay born-again, then welcome aboard.

You will still see some less than intelligent persons who would want Lagerback to continue, or say Siasia isnt qualified and all, but one day, we shall overcome.
SportsRe: What Has Happened To Osaze Odemwingie by mensdept: 4:30am On Jun 20, 2010
Osaze is a great player, but like Robinho at Man City, can have some poor games. Didnt Podolski have a heroic game against the Aussies, but not perform as well against Serbia?

One major difference is that Osaze plays for Nigeria, a team that is funded and organized by NFF and the Nigerian Government, which really, is, well, you guys know,
SportsRe: It's War On South Korea - Yobo by mensdept: 4:26am On Jun 20, 2010
LOL, Yobo saying what we should and shouldnt do.

We heard him say this after the 2-2 draw against Tunisia, even after barely beating a u-20 Zambia team in the ANC, after the goaless draw with Saudi Arabia, before the World Cup, and after the rumor that he said Naija no go qualify for R16 that we need to do this and that,

Thank you Nairalanders for telling this most uninspiring captain to shut up!
SportsRe: Does The African Continent Deserve 5 Spots At The Next Wc? by mensdept: 4:22am On Jun 20, 2010
Well, in all fairness, Africa and Africans deserve better from their leaders in high and low places, including our FA leaders and players.

I think some teams, like Gabon, Egypt, and Tunisia were a bit unlucky not to be in this tournament-though they probably may have flopped- and those who went in 06, TOGO, ANGOLA, TUNISIA, GHANA, ICOAST, performed better than the 6 of today.

So what does FIFA do? Stop African football development further by reducing our numbers, allowing the same 5/6 spots, or probing/investigating African FA's for corruption?

So as for Africans, we deserve our spots, but not the performances,

Tough call.

SportsRe: World Cup 2010: Nicolas Anelka Sent Home After Bust-up by mensdept: 4:14am On Jun 20, 2010
This could be the break France needs. You dont need egotistic players at this stage. I watched Anelka during the first two games, and really, he is just like Yakubu, couldnt make any runs, overshooting to God knows where, hardly involved, etc.

France should put in someone who is ready to represent their country and not old egotistic persons making their WC Deput at 30 years.
SportsRe: Eagles Must Apply Pressure Says Christian Chukwu by mensdept: 4:10am On Jun 20, 2010
Good statements from Chukwu, and I think he really was our last coach that had a pretty descent team, before he too was sacked after 2 years on the job.

SportsRe: Cameroon Vs. Denmark 1 - 2 Final Score by mensdept: 3:59am On Jun 20, 2010
Sad, Nigeria the first team to have had two losses
Cameroon the first team to be eliminated
South Africa, on the verge of being first host to exit 1st round
Ghana, the first team to have a 1-man advantage and not win, correct me if I'm wrong here
Algeria, the only team in their group with a loss
