Kalu is an idiot, but that is Naija for you. He's not the only one doing it. So yes, maybe Nwabueze is right by saying we need a VIOLENT revolution, even a big slap across the face of every Nigerian. WAKE UP!

You have to know how African think. We are not like people in north america. Over here President Obama or steven harper is powerful. In nigeria it is a different thing.

You can see the young man trying to kill the emir of kano and not the governor of kano. ? Why do you think fashola went to rebuild the oba of lagos palace. Because fashola knows who comes first in Yorubaland. Governor Akala is not above the Olu of Ibadan in Yorubaland. Neither is the governor of Osun state above the oni of ife. It is the other way in Yorubaland. The osemowe is above the governor in Ondo state. This is how the people see it.

You have to understand us.
You are not serious. Please, we don tire of olden Pro-Yoruba nonsense.
PoliticsRe: Emir Of Kano Escapes Assassination Attempt by mensdept: 1:09am On Jul 13, 2010
The problem is bigger than the emir, It is Naija and Nigerians as a whole. We are being ruled by common thieves-simple.

Only South Africa clearly has the infrastructure to hold to Olympics which is an even bigger event than the world cup.
Lie Lie. One city with the support of its government can do it. Abuja can host the Olympics. Why not, except for corruption. SA is not sooooo developed, and most of its people are poor. Yet they did the damn thang, hosted a successful World Cup

PoliticsRe: Lagos State Ten Point Agenda by mensdept: 11:53pm On Jul 06, 2010
There's no need to overpraise. Yet we shouldnt give credit when credit is due. Fashola, with perhaps the toughest jobs on Naija is doing way better than the whole of SW+SE combined.
PoliticsRe: 2011: Nwodo Urges Igbo To Jettison Presidential Ambition by mensdept: 11:51pm On Jul 06, 2010
We heard this in 1999, then 2003, even 2007, that Igbo should focus on this and that. Yet today, Igboland is devoid of Int'l Airport, Seaport, Steel Factory, 2nd Niger Bridge, etc. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Nonsense, but then again, Nwodo is enjoying, so he'll say anything to retain the crumbs

So it doesn't make sense to you that you should at least read what ALL that others have posted before posting yours? huh huh huh

Need I say more?

C'mon, admit it. You s**t your pants when you read "Biafra" from the last poster.  grin grin grin

I can understand your fear, but it is not my fault that you are a coward.

WE NEED LOCAL POLICE, be it state, local government, city/town, anything where we can hold someone LOCAL accountable for the security situation in OUR land.
Read Biafra? Fear? Coward? LOL!!!  You Cyber Generals are something else.  If I like I read your silly post, if I like I respond, if I like I type whatever I want. You dont expect us to simply follow all your post, as if you were writing under the holy spirits guidance.

Nigeria a federation? To some it is HELL lol.

You say we need police at "all levels" - Federal, State, City, LGA, Village, Kindred, abi.

Just give us state police now and Nigeria will not only be a federation, but all our problems will vanish.

Lol you say that I dont know anything yet you think that US policy has something to do with this thread. This is a tribute. Start your hate-America speech somewhere else. Also should the IMF keep the debt there so the DRC is even weaker? I dont know how you can compare that with your three-coarse-meal bleep.
The congo didnt get much publicity because it wasnt a full blown war. The armies were small and the area large. It was mostly death from starvation and disease.
Your an fing blow out. Your now saying their being used to help Rwanda and Uganda. You dont have a fu*k in side your tiny little head of yours.
"The whites mans truth". Fair enough your a racist. Is that why the likes of NTV and South African news agencies give the same news. In fact every non-bleeped country gives the same story. Funney that ey. Not just black or white or coloured but everyone.
If you dont like what we are doing here then go to a moderator and see what sort of response you'll get lol. And when that fails please do us all a favour, and go to the DRC and see what happens to you. See if you get shot by DRC troops or Ugandan's or Rwandans.
You cannot have a "tribute" without persons having a response. I guess you guys thought you could bombard us with deceptive facts and overload us with millions of bright pictures and we would smile and agree like ZOMBIE,

Did you even try to read any of the views on this thread BEFORE posting your comment?
Why are Nigerians so mentally lazy? huh huh

Who said anything about handing over local police to THE SAME RIGGED IN corrupt leadership?

By the way, to whom do all the police manning the checkpoints you noted respond? To the state governor or the IG? huh

Can Gov Peter Obi of Anambra state sack the police commissioner or any serving police officer or personnel? huh

Are you even a Nigerian, and if yes, did you go to school at all?  huh huh huh huh

I tire for all these illiterates crawling around nairaland.

All you needed to do was read all the PREVIOUS COMMENTS here before commenting.

Shakes head . . sad sad angry angry
SO I should read and and reread all the nonsense some of you guys are posting here abi. By the way, what is it with you and Pete Obi? Even if he had supreme control over state police, what guarantee is there that he and his fellow governors wont use it to silence or manipulate the "process". In other countries people are not talking of state police, but local police on county and precinct level. People are all about about free and fair elections at the local level. People are astute on their leaders and leaders dont get away as easily with BS. Igbo people are quick to blame irrelevant matters for their plight and then ask for state police, 2nd Naija Bridge, and tasting the presidency and all their problems will vanish.

If I were jonathan I would respect the igbos and allowed them key post and also allow them taste presidency. Igbo are very Nigerian than Hausa who had been rulling the country as fathers farm.
Intead of respecting pdp rotational govt. Igbo people should rule this country .
Should Igbo taste presidency or drink presidency? Why cant we start by identifying the real problems for Nigeria and the Igbo.

You can put Ojo Maduekwe as president if you want Igbo to be tasting and sniffing presidency

@OP, I'm with you on that hate - I hate Nigeria!

By Nigeria, I mean all the people who benefit from the oppression of the poor and exploitation of the resources. May God punish them forever.
Seriously people, we may agree and disagree, shout and reshout, but hating Nigeria in a general outburst is silly.

You can hate some people that are misguding us, intimidating us, corrupting us, pillaging us, but c'
mon, hating Nigeriahuh
PoliticsRe: Resign If You Love Our Country - Orji Kalu Tells Sani Lulu by mensdept: 7:18pm On Jul 02, 2010
Yeah, Kalu seems to "care" about football, but not about good governance in other aspects (like in Abia State).

SO this time, I'll try my best to judge the message and not the messenger
PoliticsRe: Does Jonathan's Recent Ban Show That He Has Bad Judgment As A Leader? by mensdept: 7:16pm On Jul 02, 2010
Princek12:
It is common knowledge that Government has no business in meddling with football affairs, especially to the extent of suspending its National team from international competition for two years. With this move, Jonathan acted as though the Super Eagles belongs to him rather than to millions of soccer-loving Nigerians. He has also shown that he has bad judgment, for he could have easily dissolved NFF administration without withdrawing the National team from international competitions.
You have every right to post, but please spend some time thinking before you post. You know very well that FIFA is against govt intereference, yet you write "for he could have easily dissolved NFF , "

That would have__________ yes, of course, ,,,,,in short, amounted to gov't interference. shocked

First off, no one is blaming the US for anything. Try to let that sink into your head please. This thread is about the Nigerian military. You see the thing is you are not the first of your kind to grace this thread.
We are aware you are feeling lonely right now but, you won't derail the thread. We will just wait for your extremely short attention span to fade with this topic. Please keep adding your own pics. Google is your friend.
Not only google, but Nairaland,

You guys say this thread is about the Nigerian Military. Fine, so that's why I will also post other views about that military, that are more applicable to our sorry plight as a nation. No sugarcoating, no fairy tale, no deception.
PoliticsRe: Tribute To Nigerian Military In Pictures by mensdept: 1:46pm On Jul 02, 2010
Justcash:
@Mens dept: What the heck is your problem? Are you trying to say that the Nigerian military wasted their time in Liberia and Sierra leone? If we dint go to rescue them, who would have helped them? Are you insane? Do you know anything about good neighborliness? Or Actions to spur future positive reciprocal actions from neighbors? So because the militants are Niger-deltans, they should be overlooked, and allowed to steal, despoil, kill and kidnap at will? Who told you that the military just goes into communities to butcher and kill people without course? And what evidence do you have that it has been selective? Was it not what happened in Niger-delta that happened in the North during the Boko haram onslaught? Was it not under a leader from Northern Nigeria that it happened? Don't you think that the professionalism of our military will mature and grow with the civil rule in Nigeria? Does military maturity not come with the renewal of military wares?

You must know that just as there are budget provisions for other sectors in Nigeria's economy, defence also has its own provision. In Nigeria, priority is not even given to defence, compared to the United states and most countries. So shut up my friend!

Can't you see the difference between Military and politics? Atleast now that they have been truely separated in Nigeria, can't you respect that?

The same United states that you are referring to kept manufacturing and purchasing military weapons to sustain their stay in Iraq and afghanistan, even during the recession. What does the fact that US spends more on defence tell u? So you prefer that we give our military sticks and stones as weapons just because we aint developed yet?

My friend, you better shut up and go and read for you chemistry exam. You are too young to know anything about the history of unnecessary external aggression. It is untill Cameroun, Benin republic, or Niger republic decides to test Nigeria's military strength that you will be convinced that we need a good military.

@Paddy lo: Well done bro. As far as I am concerned, a major determinant of a country to be able to sustain it's national sovereignty and gain respect is the strength of it's military. Nigeria is not yet there, but we will get there.
Nonsense, Cameroon and Niger wanting to invade Naija lol!!!

No one is trying to derail or discredit the military. But in a country like Nigeria, you can't separate politics and the armed forces. Neither can you start a thread that is deceptive of our true situation----a rogue state perpetuated by its military.

People are here praising the wrong institution and groups, and posting useless pictures of Western manufactured weapons that a country like Nigeria doesnt know how to make themselves. The only military persons who can look forward to adequate care after they retire are the IBB's, Abubukar's, and OBJ's.

You guys are not astute politic persons, hence daydreamers that haven't yet awoken. Tribute to the Nigerian Army LOL!!!

Let's have a tribute to the Nigerian Police and Nigerian Customs and Nigerian Governors like Ibori. C'mon, lets do it and forget about tributes to real leaders and better institutes that have done better for Nigeria.

Exactly! In Charles Taylor's final days the US Marines sat in their ships of the coast of Liberia watching the slaughter on the beaches and streets of Monovia and did sweet F*uk All.
You see, blacks killing blacks and you say US just sat there grin

And what did you do? Did you fly out their to Monrovia and save the Liberians from massacre? All this what did US do and that is rubbish. The US/American people has/have done more for you folks than your leaders have done for their own people.

why should i be awed by those militaries u name

when the fellow black ppl of sierra leone and liberia were killing themselves, chopping off hands of babies and destroying their country

were where those so-called militaries of the countries u named to help end the war?

A black man like u in 2010,still being brainwashed to hate yourself. . .
After the war,the so-called European countries are quick to go to sierra leone and film the poverty there
they are now happy to come, but couldnt care less when it could have

Go to Sierra leone and ask the average man there about the Nigerian military
and see the love and respect they have for us for putting our lives on the line
to help their country get back on its feet

even till today,we still provide the core of manpower to help rebuild their military. . . .
[/

I'm not surprised that you know nothing about politics nor anything in particular, except posting pictures of German made tanks and American manufactured aircraft carriers.

You are talking about SIerra Leone, and that we are "THE ONES BUILDING THEIR MILITARY" grin

Please, dont mistake patriotism for stupidity.

I think actually, you are the one that hates yourself, and wants to pretend that our military is first class, and that everything is OKAY in Naija. Just wait until rumor has it that your village is harboring anti-PDP members, and when they send your beloved and Western packaged army in, they will start with liquidating your compound.

This thread is nonsense cheesy
