You all will notice I have not commented on this war because I do not engage in issues I am not well grounded. Now my question is, if as I understand it, Ukraine said they wanted to join NATO and Russia says No you cannot, and the NATO itself is not even helping Ukraine much in his fight (at least not as far as I can see and I may be wrong) what will Ukraine lose by calling truce, counting their losses and staying out of NATO. I am asking this question with all sense of seriousness and a desire to learn, especially because NATO just seemed to have set this Ukraine up and then went back to sleep.

I seek knowledge not bashing. If you do not have a firm grasp of the facts and analysis of what could transpire please do not bash me.

like Ukraine joining the Nato.

I can't tell you what they will or will not do. What I can tell you is that the threat of US defense is what has kept China at bay all this time. i can also tell you that maintaining that threat is the reason why th eUS keeps a huge fleet in the South China sea, and condusts regular military drills with Taiwan.

Now as an analyst I can tell you that these facts distinguish the situation from that of Ukraine. Perhaps you know the future, but that's not my area of specialty. Engage with someone else who does.

Militarily, China will trump the US,China has some military arsenals in the space directly focused on US and some western countries that the world never knew that existed.
China can Bleep US up big time more than Russia but they are economically oriented, they know if war breaks out,it will affect them economic wise not that US won't feel the brunt.
China is just being lenient with Taiwan because they are brothers,the day China decides to take Taiwan,they will do it within 24hrs

The USA has no formal defense relatinship with Ukraine - which is one of the themes of thethis war.

The US has formal mutual defense treaties with Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, with actual military bases in both Japan and S.Korea, and a huge naval presence in the South China Sea.

Vastly different situations.

I totally agree with this. I was quite worried if the resistance they net is the major restraint. I wish zelensky had the wisdom to negotiate with Russia and save a lot of lives and properties. The decision to fight is a very foolish one and unfortunately, his so called allies are urging him on from a distance, yet taking precautions to ensure their own safety. Putin boasted of his capacity to reach UK with an intercontinental ballistic missile in twenty minutes and USA in 30minutes. I am yet to read any response that counters that claim. If USA and UK and even Germany cannot attack Russia, why should a comedian like zelensky?

Putin wants to take Kiev as healthy and beautiful brother city, if not, he would have turned Kiev to desert. But you know, you don't fight your blood brothers the way you fight your family enemies.

Putin will never destroy Ukraine the way US and Europe destroyed Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan and Libya.
