Political solution, the only remedy to militancy.
PoliticsRe: Three Soldiers Killed By Militants In Foropa, Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa by mesoprogress(m): 3:18am On May 11, 2016
I'm saddened by the death of these soldiers, however buhari should be blamed. He chose military intervention instead of a political solution. I've been with some of these soldiers in niger delta creeks, normal people with families. The earlier buhari seeks a political solution, the better for him.

I never supported Kanu. But activities of federal government is pushing all us down East. We are ready to pull out with or without South South. Oil is least of our problems, rather freedom. A pure Igbo nation would be a success because there will be homogeneity and no cry of marginalization. We the educated elites are gradually supporting this cause. It will no longer be a jobless or market people cause. You know what that means

I remind you of this popular saying " Exam is not a true test of Knowledge ". Albeit, it is the only test of Knowledge we know. I agree that often times merit is safrificed at the alter of quota system, but we are thesame individuals who cry foul whenever we think or imagine we hvae been marginalised or cheated out of the federal largeese. Isnt this rather obvious from recent happenings in the country. The Niger Delta Avengers and Igbo Biafra readily come to mind. The quota system is a product of our ethno-religious and regional population diversity. Sadly I dnt see it changing any time soon.
If exam is not a true test of knowledge, we need to scrap WAEC, JAMB, . US should scrap TOEFL, SAT, . There should be no yardstick for employment. No aptitude for ExxonMobil, Shell or Chevron employment. They should just employ dunce people because exam is not a true test of knowledge.

Wagasigiungu:
Your assertion brings a thought to mind. Would you say southern trained healthcare professionals are better than northern trained ones? What's your justification? What factors would you consider in arriving at an answer?
Most northern graduates are half baked because of quota system. I once applied to a federal University in my state. I scored 236 but couldn't get the course by merit, a Kogi indigene name appeared on merit list with a score of 176.That was EEE department FUTO, 2006. I wrote the jamb myself, I hope the Kogi guy wrote himself. Tell me, who has more technical ability to do this course? Merit is sacrificed at the altar of quota system. That apart, I got a job with a multinational company by merit after graduation. Over time, the multinational started absorbing a few northerners because of diversity and inclusion policy. Trust me, 90% of them were dull, couldn't grasp things quickly, no original thinking. That apart, I met a few northerners working with nnpc, we all work together. Trust me, some of them couldn't properly operate programs on their pc. So my friend, I have first hand experience.

Quota system on my mind. Half baked staff from North occupying positions in southern hospitals. They attend school by quota, get employed by quota. Regionalism is best thing that can happen to Nigeria. Let each region train and employ their staff. We are clamoring for decentralization, these people are adding more roles to a failed center. cry

afroniger:
This will be a GAME-CHANGER in the sector if this can be pulled off under Fashola's tenure. Truth is, without such deregulation of transmission and decentralization of the grid, Fashola will FAIL like every past Minister that handled his portfolio, even he knows that. The deregulation of the sector will remain incomplete without transmission deregulation/grid decentralization following suit. Nigeria needs this like it needs air, else we will never solve this epileptic electricity problem.
Not just power. For Nigeria to work, everything needs to be decentralized.

This nation , especially those living in SS/SE should prepare for the time ahead. Something serious is brewing, may be much less deadly than boko haram but more powerful. Think of what will happen if the nation got stripped of its main source of income. Inflation will reach rooftops, there will be no money to sponsor importation of PMS. think of it
PoliticsRe: Herdsmen: We Are Being Suffocated In Benue, Gov Cries Out by mesoprogress(m): 3:57pm On May 06, 2016
I understand that peaceful coexistence means when they attack, you resort to crying like the 9 LGs under occupation by Fulanis in Benue ? Igbos are not born that way. Ebonyi governor is speaking for himself, not even for his immediate family, talk of a whole Ebonyi state. He was not speaking the mind of people that voted him. We wait for him to bring his grazing bill to state assembly and see if they will not stone him. The treatment for his case is for another day.

joborskill:
As we pray for peace and the continued existence of our dear country Nigeria, some sections of the country needs to understand that violence is not the solution. The recent riot in Aba is a reference point in such cases. It was alleged (without proof) that an Hausa man stabbed an Igbo guy to death and immediately the IGBOS resorted to reprisals. It is so unfortunate that the easterners could react in such a brutal manner. Why can't you arrest the Hausa man and hand him over to the police? Two wrongs will never make a right. How can you kill in order to avenge the death of another? Southerners generally are known to be peaceful either SW/SS or SE. We should not be tempted to act like animals who don't value lives all because of retaliation and jungle justice. The IGBOS should remember they are the most travelled tribe and they have more IGBOS up north than Hausa/fulanis in the SE. The actions in Aba could put the IGBOS in the north in trouble if the northerners decides to retaliate. The north has been known for their aggressive approach to confrontations and in order to avoid a scenario of the civil war, I implore the IGBOS to embrace diplomacy and peace. No body has the monopoly of violence. The northerners and the herdsmen are Nigerians and they have the right to live and do their business in any part of the country. They should not be stigmatised because of the attitudes of a few bad eggs amongst them. The recent Aba clashes is a result of the staunch hatred and bile Nnamdi Kanu preached on radio Biafra. He poisoned the minds of millions of IGBOS and made them un patriotic. He called for the death of Yoruba and Hausa fulanis and the results is the clashes we have today. This is why people like Nnamdi Kanu does not deserve freedom. He is a threat to national security. The solutions to this incessant clashes is to support the grazing bill so the federal government can create grazing reserves for the fulanis in every state of the country. Even the governor of Ebonyi state agreed that the grazing bill is the only path to peaceful coexistence. The IGBOS need to learn from Yorubas peaceful nature. This is why the SW is the most peaceful region in the country. Yorubas are slow to anger no matter the level of provocation. It's not cowardice but diplomacy. I will not support the killing of anyone in any form. We must respect the sanctity of life and stop acting like animals. Until the IGBOS begin to see Nigeria as their home and forget the evil thought of Biafra, they will keep seeing others as enemies especially the northerners. Lord luggard saw a great potential in our diversity before merging us. Let's works together to make Nigeria great. Say no to senseless killings. Btw I'm Yoruba and just making #commonsense cool

These guys are serious with a nicely designed website. They most likely have major backers and sponsors. They seem to have a sympathy and / or collaboration with IPOB. They not ready to kidnap or take innocent lives. UN, USA, EU can't term them as terrorists since there are no soft targets. Finally, they are currently faceless, they have seen what happened to Kanu. They could well dine with Bubu without his knowledge. Not sure Bubu knows what he's up against. They look toothless but they might gradually bring the nation to its knees, one day at a time.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Lose $5.3 Mil Daily After Attack On Chevron Platform In Warri by mesoprogress(m): 9:00am On May 06, 2016
Strength is not by military might. I suspected this would happen. Buhari would be completely powerless in the face of these militants. I have worked in niger delta, inside these creeks drilling oil. I can assure you, dialogue is the only way, you can't fish the militants out unless you destroy the whole of niger delta which Nigeria government definitely can't do. He is a dunce.

PoliticsIt's Time To Restructure Nigeria by mesoprogress(op): 8:22pm On Apr 26, 2016
Nigeria is in deep problem, no tribe trusts the next, even their neighbors! In the meantime, let's all support regionalism and end this m3ss. If SS, SW, SE could come and work together as one, we will achieve great success. I'm greatly saddened by the Enugu events. Let's end this divide and rule tactics. Ekweremadu is in the game. If we all persuade our senators to key into this, we will achieve success.

Northern region has all it needs to survive, vast agricultural land, rare minerals (including uranium in sokoto). They are just afraid of the unknown.

Though Senators will be afraid of losing their lucrative jobs at the federal level, they would be absorbed into regional parliaments until next election. Aside from that, they would write their name in gold for doing the right thing for generations to come.

Regions would be more responsible. We would see manufacturing boost both in SW and SE. Agriculture will thrive in all the regions. Coal use would be revived if need be. Coal is Australia's main source of power! There's also a huge gas reserve within south east if we so much love Petroleum. Also, much of SE have not even been explored for oil. I'm not an oil revenue fan. SW sits on huge amount of crude as well, from Ondo to Ogun bitumen deposit to offshore Lagos and Ogun states. Look well, oil is littered along our coastal regions.

We have nothing to lose in a regional arrangement. Please let work together and stop bashing one another. This is long overdue.
PoliticsRe: The Governor Of Enugu State Should Resign by mesoprogress(m): 12:42am On Apr 26, 2016
He should resign. He should at least have mobilized vigilante. He has no excuse. We already know that the fulani dullard has a soft spot for them. Every boundary community should mobilize to safeguard themselves!
CrimeRe: Fulani Herdsmen Invade Enugu Communities, Many Feared Dead by mesoprogress(m): 12:56pm On Apr 25, 2016
Nigeria is a failed state under fulani leadership. Igbos should pick up arms and defend themselves if our police, military cannot be proactive in safeguarding the right of citizens. We should not only react when there's an incidence. They have prior intelligence that this was gonna happen.
PoliticsRe: Is There Something Wrong With The Black Race ? by mesoprogress(m): 7:03am On Apr 23, 2016
Africans have the lowest IQ distribution in the world after Aborigines of Australia and Papua Guinea. Lower iq is associated with under performance in all walks of life. We still have a few high performing guys but they are in the mist of a lot non or low performers. They get easily choked and leave the continent for high performance countries. This is called brain drain. It's only Igbos and one other tribe in Sub-Saharan Africa that have IQs comparable to high performers in large numbers , hence their great success in manufacturing "Aba made", and great ingenuity during the war. Don't quote me wrongly, high and low performers are present in all tribes and races, the difference is their relative population. Igbo people also have a writing method "Nsibidi", which is almost extinct. These are indices of high IQ.

BusinessRe: Emefiele Predicts Economic Boom For Nigeria In 2018 by mesoprogress(m): 8:52pm On Apr 18, 2016
Lol, Emefiele, are you eyeing oil recovery? Shale oil production is slowing, oil prices are expected to creep up gradually, expecting $50-65 per barrel by year end. Hope you are not predicting based on this? Nigeria government will never be serious in diversification so far they continue to prepare budgets based on oil money.

that would one of the dividends of restructured Nigeria. You are are on the right track. Benue citizens wouldn't have been massacred! Rogue fulani heardsmen wouldn't have been roaming Benue state with unlicensed weapons. If they want ranches, they would ask nicely and pay for it!!! And also protected as resourceful law abiding citizens.
