I'm a Nigerian student studying in Montreal and I live with another Nigerian student in a big three bedroom apartment. We have a spare room. If you'd be coming this January and are still looking for accommodation for your first few months or for your stay here, contact me. It's a queen room and fully furnished, all bills inclusive and very good price. Please inbox me at ogorgirl2002@yahoo.com

How much is it? Is it close to close to Concordia university. Thanks.

Affidavit of sponsorship is different from letter of sponsorship. Former is done in any high court to authenticate the sponsorship. Later is just a normal letter written by your sponsor stating reasons why he/she is sponsoring U.
The following forms are to be filled:
1. Temporary resident visa application form
2. Study permit application form
3. Family information form
4. Study permit questionnaire
5. Checklist form.

Hello I dont think international students are allowed to study part time in Canada. I tried searching for information on whether international students wishing to study part time will be granted study permit but no concrete info. You will have to do more research to confirm if that is possible. (cc thesoj siga )

But please note that in any case, international students studying part time are not allowed to work either on or off campus

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-oncampus.asp

Cheers
International students are allowed to study per time but cant work as part time students. I once got admitted to concordia university Montreal as a part time student but had to change to full time coz of the work issue.

Hello Soj and all gurus in the house, please I need your advice on this. I applied for study permit Oct 5th and was refused based on fund on the 16th Nov., I have gathered all the documents to reapply and is ready.,to be precise I wanna submit it tomorrow. Here is my question. The admission letter given to me stated that I am starting Jan 4th. Though I know the study permit won't be for Jan due to processing time. Please I hope there is no harm submitting now with that acceptance letter. Please could you kindly advice is urgent.

Thanks
Send a mail to the school in Canada for deferment to a later term. Print the mail conversations and include it in your application while you apply with your January admission letter. You should be good. Cheers.

i dont speak or understand french, if i happen to get an acceptance/admission letter from an institution there, will the canadian embassy grant me TRV do i stand a chance of getting TRV?

I M about to apply for a 7 months course.
French speaking part of Canada is okay. U wont have issue with TRV. Is ur program in English language? U will need to obtain caq from Quebec govt before u can apply for ur TRV.

Seriously I can't start reading from page 1 of part 1.
This is part 9. If you have any good info on visa requirements kindly brief it to save others from burning MB.

You don't need to read from part 1. If you start reading today u wont finish reading till next next year. Read posts of some gurus in d house and you should be okay. Read Thesoj, team12, ayooluwatoni, tnuola, siga and others posts. You should be okay coz they have addressed some critical issues on this forum. All d best.

It seems getting MSc admission into Canadian Universities is a 'big deal'. I've applied to two schools now but wasn't admitted; UofManitoba(Mech Eng.) & UofRegina(Pet. Eng). I wouldn't know what they really want but I know those are at least not the top five ranked schools in Canada for which makes me wonder why they reject like that. After coming up with a good SOP, academic references, CGPA of 4.2/5.0 (Mech Eng), meticulously filling their application forms; One wonders what they really from me again! Them jus dey wack my $100 sha..
You are very funny bro. Are u applying for Msc or Meng? Most schools may want you to get supervisor first before they can admit u if u apply for MSc. U studied mechanical engineering in undergraduate why going for petroleum engineering. Also ur last two years gpa is very important in admission processing. Do not relent bro. Keep trying u gonna get admitted soon. Cheers.

Lol. Never heard of them though. Why not use momondo.com or TripAdvisor to check average prices for a particular date, then go on wakanow.com to check for that date. From experience, flights for Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays are mostly cheaper. You can also try wakanow.com at night, between 12am and 5am, prices fall at midnight too.
Sight u ayooluwatoni. Welcome back to this thread. Missed U. How was ur trip? Hope u have settled down now. Enjoy ur stay bro.

Journey mercies and sound health are very important things to thank God for.
Wish all the expectants great testimonies IJN

You need to submit your own soa and if you have any asset like building, land or cars include their documents in ur next application. You are very closer to get ur TRV.

4 . length of proposed stay
5. purpose of visit.
For my daughter: purpose of visit.

U didn't do medical..That's a sure way to know...So its a denial..In the next 2 weeks, you will get over it. Try to be calm and don't be emotional disturbed..You can give it another shot after calming down. Peace!!!

Bro. Its not a sure way to know its a denial. We have seen on this thread someone gotten his visa without medical. Although some people argued it was 100% human error but I think its possible. So we should not conclude. Pick up your document next week and lets know d outcome.

I am new on nairaland.I did my biometrics on the 9th October, I applied using online route, I did not submit a Police Character Certificate because I never knew if it was needed, I received a medical request email yesterday, please does this mean that my application has been reviewed? What is its implication? I need words from you all, thanks.
Do you have any criminal record. Have u been to prison before? If your answer is NO. Be rest assured that you are okay. PCC is not compulsory like ur soa. If VO needs it, he or she will request for it. You are on track. Cheer up.

I thank God Almighty for His mercy and opportunities He has sent to my way!

To the Glory of God my good people, I have just been REFUSED after passing my medicals.

Reasons are;
*Travel history
*insufficient fund to support ur academics in canada without working
*insufficient evidence to show relationship btw u and ur sponsor(i used a cousin in dat aspect)
*purpose of visit
*lenght of proposed stay in canada
*family ties in canada & in country of residence
*employment prospects in country of residence
*personal assets & financial status
*insufficient evidence of available funds provided for ur studies in canada.

My people after all these reasons, I am totally confused cos I dnt knw where to start from as my admission expires May 2016.
List your documents so that we can advise you appropriately. I was scared when I first see the list of refusal but most of them are baseless. How old are you? Do you have lengthy study gap? Get family photographs with ur sponsor or you use a family tree. How credible is ur soa in term of inflow and outflow. Do not relent. You can still make it. For you to receive medical call before refusal means your application is not as bad as you think. There is something Vo saw that made him or her to ask for ur medical result. Cheers. All will be well.

AS MOST UNI DIDNT ACCEPT NECO.

BUT IS LIKE MOST OIF THE COLLEGE ACCEPT NECO
THOUGH THEIR PART TUITION PAYMENT IS THE PROBLEM
Check this link http://www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/sectionNo=REGS-0289
Memorial university of Newfoundland accepts neco and minimum of C6 in the required subjects. Hope this helps.

Thanks Manny.
Are we expected to pay the school fees before applying for visa? The agent is trying to send my sister to University of Manitoba but we want her to go to prince Edward University. My sister didn't do well in the English test. Will this affect her? The school will give her conditional admission to study English first i think before starting her major.

Thanks for answering my questions
Take it cool bro. Is your sister going for undergraduate or postgraduate program? You don't need to pay for school fees before you apply for visa unless school specify it in the admission letter. Although some schools asked for deposit payment but not all the schools. Is the school asking your sister to do English Test coz most us got admitted without writing English test. Also I will advise your sister to apply to more than one school. Two or three schools should do coz most schools in Canada are competitive. I pmd you. Cheers.

I have worked for two years full time that does not include my services year which ended in mid 2013. I have document to a land with building on it but my balance is less than 250k. Will the vo deny me visa because of the balance?
You should be good with the soa. Submit ur land document and do building evaluation report of your land. The report would show how much the building and d land worth. Submit all the documents and back it up with prayers. All will be well.

Hello justwise... Please am in need of an advice and I feel your in the best position. I just graduated from one of the federal universities in Nigeria, I read Computer science(Second class upper), I intend doing my masters in Canada as soon as l finish my NYSC, but here's the problem...
I am preparing to take an English proficiency test (TOEFL) early next year, but I received a mail from the university I intend going for masters stipulating that " If the medium of instruction of your previous degree
was exclusively English, you will not be required to
submit the results of an English Language Proficiency
Test."... Does this mean I do not need take the TOEFL exam?
And I hope it doesn't affect my visa application negatively?

Thanks justwise..

So u believe its only oga Justwise that can answer your question. You should have pmd him. As a Nigerian graduate you don't need to write toefl to get admission and trv to Canada. Countless of guys here have gotten their admission and trv without any English test. You don't even believe the mail your proposed school sent to you. All the best.
